Dr. Bumstead and his staff were very understanding, kind, and straight forward with me every step of the way. My first examination and cleaning with them went very well. Given how long it's been I knew I'd have some work to be done. They were careful to make sure each procedure was covered by my insurance. Explained clearly my options and gave their recommendations and were able to schedule me in the next week. The work they did was quick, kind and carefully executed. I feel very comfortable trusting them as my regular dentist and have already made a few recommendations to friends and family to go see them.

He is very honest and won't try to convince you into a treatment that isn't absolutely necessary. He doesn't try to trick you into the next "Big thing" with super fancy equipment that costs a bundle. Trudy is an exceptional hygienist, she is the most gentle technician I've ever known and I still feel like my teeth are spic-n-span when I leave. Within an hour received a call back, a solution to getting the isssue taken care which was complicated. I live 120 miles away from Eugene, Ron works out of the Salem office on Thursdays and had classes on Friday in Salem. He met me at 6 am on Friday in Eugene, used a lab in Salem to fix the issue, brought back the finished product after his class! You do not get any better care!

Generally I like this dentist and his office staff. However a recent experience has caused me to…read morelook for a different provider. I went in for a regular cleaning and checkup. The hygienist finished the cleaning then asked if it was okay to update my X-rays. Normally I would say sure, but I hadn't planned on the extra time and really needed to get to work so I politely declined the X-rays (that I wasn't told about before appointment). The dentist then comes in and says he won't do the examine without X-rays and would only "allow" the cleaning (which had pretty much already been done anyway) as though he was bestowing a gift. He made me feel stupid and embarrassed. The hygienist ASKED me (gave me an OPTION) if I wanted to do X-rays. When I OPTED to say "No" they made me the bad person because what... I chose wrong? I don't like trick questions and they were basically blaming me for them not telling me before the appointment that they would need more time than usual to do X-rays. Like I said. I generally have liked this dentist, but the attitude I received this time really left a bad taste in my mouth. [Sorry... bad pun]
