We bought a 99-year old Craftsman that was completed outdated, ungrounded, had exposed wires everywhere; just a mess. After talking to another company that supposedly specialized in older homes, they wanted $500 up front just to do a detailed inspection to tell us what was needed to bring the electricals up to code. They asked this and that, when they should be taking the bull by the horns and knowing or figuring it out! Thankfully, we came across Emerald Pacific Electric. Chris and his team were superb: easy to communicate with, understood exactly what was needed, and suggested thoughtful avenues that we didn't even think of, such as what future needs of the house if we were to expand it, and burying the old unsightly overhead wires to go underground. His team was very respectful, hard working, put in all the outlets I would ever want, installed high quality lights and fans-- the works! They rewired the entire house and garage and really went above and beyond. Those guys thought nothing of crawling under the house all day to put in the wiring! Chris really looked after us as if the house were his own. Very high quality work, the only electricians you would ever need. read more

Super professional on install and cleanup, many small details went above and beyond. These guys are top notch, excellent work so far on 2 projects. Giving 5 stars and wish I'd ran into these guys earlier. read more

I called Emerald Pacific Electric and spoke to Chris. He gave me an idea of cost and time of completion. So, I thought t he sounded legit. We booked the appointment and Chris was on it about ETA. Justin was the technician who showed up. He did a thorough assessment. We spoke about pricing and before I knew it, the job was all done. Excellent service and communication. Give these guys a try. Mark and John with Emerald Pacific Electric are really great to work with, they do what they say they're going to do, they work fast and they know what they're doing. They are very professional. I highly recommend them. We had our whole house rewired and a new 200 amp panel put in - they were just great to work with the entire project. Their pricing is very fair. They do quality work! read more

My wife and I are really happy with all of the work that Justin and John have done. We couldn't really afford all the work at once, and they understood and were very kind to let us phase the work out. The craftsmanship is top notch. We still have more work to do, and as long as we are in San Diego these are the guys we'll be going back to again and again! read more

This is the second time we've worked with Emerald Pacific Electric. They are a professional, reliable, and affordable. As other reviewers have mentioned, their attention to detail is stellar and they make a lot of helpful suggestions -- feels like a collaboration. They know their stuff, and the customer service is great. We couldn't be happier. Thanks, Mark and John! read more

I really liked these guys. I felt their pricing was reasonable. But I had some time sensitive projects I wanted to have completed. I texted and called. No response after multiple requests. Just very disappointed. If you're too busy to take on more work, please just say so. Don't string along clients. read more

Late one night we turned on a rolling air conditioner while our house fan was on and blew a breaker. Or at least that's what we thought happened but after flipping the breaker back on some outlets still no longer worked. Worse? We had an electrical smoke smell in the house! Chris was at our home within hours of our call and had us fixed up super quickly. This included: * Diagnosis and replacement of GFCI outlet * Reworked old sub-panel to fix dropped neutral * Diagnosis and replacement of another outlet * Reworked ANOTHER sub-panel to find ANOTHER dropped neutral * Replaced missing metal faceplate All of this was done in ~2 hours, he had all necessary parts at the ready, and left everything spotless! I've been ripped off by two other electricians so this was a pleasant surprise for me. Super nice, would recommend if you need someone for electrical work. We're already thinking of some wishlist items we may be sending Emerald's way. read more

I bought my house a little over 2 years ago and wanted to replace my old electrical panel as it would outdated and unsafe. I called Emerald Pacific and a few companies out here in San Diego for quotes in replacing my electrical panel and after going over the project, the time frame and the pricing I was so happy I chose Emerald Pacific Electrical. They offered me more than any of the other 3 companies that I called which all had great reviews here on Yelp. From the follow up calls, to taking a look at my panel and giving me a quote on short notice. They gave me an AWESOME deal (compared to others). They took care of all the permits and inspections with the city of Chula Vista. They also replaced the service Entrance and Riser in to my electrical panel and labeled all my breakers, cleanliness after work was completed and getting the project done all in one day. They are very knowledgably, friendly, true and respectful group of guys!!! I would like to thanks Chris and the crew at Emerald on a job well done and exceeding my expectation. This is an awesome company and would consider them to anyone out there looking to get any Electrical work done at their home or business. read more

If I could, I'd gladly give Emerald Pacific Electric 10 stars! They definitely deserve an excellent rating. The work they did for us was 100% professional and they charged an extremely fair price. We had extensive rewiring, new breaker box installation (relocated to code), and had all old outlets/switches throughout the property upgraded/grounded. Our home was built in 1960, so the need for an electrical overhaul was a top priority for me. Not only did the crew put in many (many) hours to get the job done, they also went above and beyond in ways to make sure everything was just right. Sending a huge thanks to the whole crew - Chris, Mark, John and Sean! You guys are great. Carol M. P.S. Aristotle the dog went into a slight depression after the job was complete. I think he missed you guys! Lol! Thanks again. read more

I called emerald as I had a new electrical problem via sdge. Chris talked me thru the options and ended up finding the problem (over the phone). I then explained the situation to sdge and made the problem go away. I recommend emerald electric! read more

Awesome electricians. We had them show up to install a fan in a tricky situation. Without much heads up, they showed up same day, installed the fan, and fixed a suicide switch. He fixed a few other things free of charge when he noticed the room was becoming a nursery and felt it would be safer. I'll be using them in the future. read more

Would highly recommend, Mark did a great job. Very professional and knowledgeable. For anyone looking to get electrical work done, look no further than these guys. Exceptional work and customer service. read more

I agree with all the five star reviews on here. Their work is exceptional, they're highly professional and knowledgeable. The most important aspect of Emerald Pacific to note, however, is they're all very attractive. After Frank gave me the estimate, it was hard to imagine that there were any more attractive Irish people- but all of them were! This was a win! read more

Once again great work and service from Chris and John. Free estimate, set appointments and arrived on schedule each time. Provided tarps, etc to minimize the mess. AND they are nice people! Thanks again!! read more

Woo-hoo! I found electricians who were nice, showed up and got the job done! We had two dedicated circuits put in for the garage and added a switch for a roof fan. They let me know what they needed to do, did it, and cleaned up. It looks great! A+ Will have them back for more work. read more

Super great guys. Very easy to work with. I had them install a new outlet for a new stove in my house. Quick and efficient at a very fair price. I was so impressed I started referring them to my customers (I own a small Plumbing company.) I cant say enough good thing about them. read more

Chris, Frank, and all of the electricians at Emerald are of the highest caliber. We have done multiple projects with Emerald including an electrical panel upgrade, added recessed lights, a ceiling fan, dedicated circuits in the garage and even the installation of a whole house fan. These guys are the best, their prices are fair, and their people are friendly and professional. I recommend them to all of my friends. read more

Had some old electrical that burned out. Owner Chris called me and set me up with an appt. John was my technician again. Coolest nicest guy ever. Talks you off the ledge and explains what's going on and gives you options on what order to take care of job. These guys are my go to. read more

These guys came out right away and fixed up my tangled mess of an office electrical! Thanks!

I hired Emerald Pacific Electric to install a 240v / 50-amp outlet in my kitchen, to make way for a brand new flat-top GE oven from Home Depot. I called and spoke to Chris (very nice, professional, and down to earth guy!) and we scheduled him to come to my apartment at 10:00am on May 1st, 2014. My apartment is 30+ years old (as was my old oven!), and the old oven itself was hard-wired to the wall (via a crusty cable coming out of the wall and plugged into the back of the oven). This old, hard-wired configuration is out-dated and not "up to code" for the installation any new, modern oven. On the date of our scheduled appointment, Chris called me about 45min prior and asked if he could come early. I told him "absolutely" (early is always good)! Chris arrived, and within an hour, he had the old cable trimmed down to the wall (fortunately the cable's internal wiring was well shielded and fully intact), and attached and installed it into a clean, fresh new outlet! What I really appreciated is Chris' level of precision. When he went outside to grab an additional tool item (about halfway into the job), I took a peek at his project. Chris had installed a brand new inside-of-the-wall square enclosure for the outlet to reside in and protect it from any surrounding interference (prior to connecting the wires). That level of detail right there showed me someone who takes their craft very seriously and does their very best during even the smallest of jobs. Chris also cleaned up his work area tidily and immaculately once the outlet was fully installed. In fact the area was cleaner than I had left it before Chris even arrived! Oh and did I mention that the new oven performs like a rockstar? That's 50-amps of pure cookin' kapow, baby! Thanks so much for doing such an awesome job, Chris! I would highly recommend Emerald Pacific Electric to anyone who are looking for professional, honest, and immaculate Electrical work. read more

I have used Chris on several occasions for a condominium rental I have in the Bay Park area. Chris is great: knows what he is doing, charges a fair price, and is always right on time. I give him my highest recommendation. read more

Emerald Pacific Electric gets a 5 star review for the following reasons: 1) Knowledge of the work 2) Fair Pricing 3) Excellent Work 4) Punctuality 5) Professionalism My wife and I were in a pinch and Emerald Pacific Electric came through for us. A GFCI outlet in my kitchen blew. I was going to try replacing it myself, but I noticed scorching and melting around one of the contacts, so I thought it might be prudent to have a pro check it out in case there were other issues with my wiring. Chris was able to squeeze me into his schedule quickly, and arrived at the house when he said he would. Friendly and professional service, reasonable price (slightly less expensive than one other highly rated electrician I called). I'd definitely use Emerald Pacific again for any electrical work in my house. read more

We had a vision for an outdoor lighting project but needed an outlet installed on the outside of the house in a random spot. Chris was great from the moment I called him. He gave me an indication of what he thought it would cost but scheduled a time to come by that afternoon. After taking a look, he suggested another option which would cost much less. We decided to go with his idea and the work was done in a timely manner and the quality of work was great. I will definitely be using Emerald Pacific Electric in the future. read more

Back in May we had a circuit go that affected half our house including our fridge. We had tried to reset it a few times with no luck. I called Emerald Pacific and left a message explaining the issue and noted that we had some urgency in getting someone out since we had family coming into town. Chris called back right away and fit us in the very next day! He came out and to my embarrassment was able to reset the circuit with no issue! Oops. He told us to call again if we had a repeat and to just leave everything as is. He was nice enough not to charge us even though I am sure it interfered with his scheduling that day! Luck would have it that it happened again later that night. I called Chris and again he fit us in that next day. He was able to debug the issue and put in a fix. He took the time to talk to me about our old cabling and any different options for upgrading if we continued to have issues. Chris was personable, efficient and knows what he is doing! I will definitely be calling him again! read more

Chris was great! I called about a fluorescent kitchen light that was flickering off, and he explained that it probably just needed a new ballast (since the fixture had power), and he said it would be around $100 to fix. We scheduled the appointment a couple days in advance for Saturday at 8:30am, and he arrived promptly. He removed and replaced the T-12 lamp 40 watt ballast for $109 total. He was courteous, responsive, and efficient. I would definitely use them again :) read more

These people are awesome. Chris sent Frank to resolve an issue with our dining/living room He was clean on time neat and efficient. Squeezed us in on thanksgiving week when most others are already taking the week off We will call them again and give them 100 per cent rating if we could. read more

We had a few outlets in our kitchen stop working so I called early in the morning and got a call back within a couple hours and was able to schedule an appointment that afternoon, so the response time was nice. I was away when it happened (brother was home), but apparently all that was needed was to press a reset switch on one of the outlets. My bad for calling an electrician for something so trivial, sure, but we were billed $134 for the service. Since the website says "Free Estimates" and "No Call Out Charge", I'm guessing the full $134 was for pressing the button. 2 stars for the fast response times and actually fixing the problem, but 3 off for charging so much. read more

I feel pretty good about these guys, and I would definitely use them again. I can tell they are customer oriented because they have a can do attitude and good business sense. read more

These guys killed it at our new house. They modernized our nongrounded panel with ground fault protection, upgraded all receptacles, put in beautiful switches and recessed lighting, added some outlets and installed fan boxes in all of our rooms. If you want top notch, professional work from honest, well-qualified people at reasonable prices, call Emerald Pacific Electric. We recently bought an old home powered, in part, by extension cords running across the attic and with multiple electrical violations in the attic and main and sub panels as noted by the inspectors. We got multiple estimates from well-reviewed electricians, but the most thorough investigation and estimate came from Mark Hegarty at Emerald Pacific Electric. He saw all the problems and seemed to think the solutions could be easily accomplished in a day's time. I appreciated his explanations and his confidence. We scheduled Emerald Pacific to do the work and Mark and Sean arrived on the appointed day and time with everything they needed to get the job done. Everything agreed was done professionally and with a smile within the day, as promised. When Mark and Sean left, everything was in perfect working order, safe and spotless. They will be coming back to do a few additional electrical jobs that are of a less urgent nature and Emerald Pacific Electric will be the only electricians I will call in the future. If you insist on getting multiple estimates, do yourself a favor and make sure one of them is from Emerald Pacific Electric. These guys are great at what they do and a pleasure to work with! read more

I called Emerald Pacific because I was cutting my drywall and happened to cut a wire in the wall. Chris answered and even suggested I send him pictures of the wire so he can confirm it was an electrical wire. He even offered me some tips to determine if the wire was live. I didn't actually have them come to my house but this customer service via the phone was more than I expected. I'll definitely be calling Emerald Pacific the next time I need electrical work. read more

I highly recommend Emerald Pacific Electric without reservation. I met Mark and Chris at a Home Depot while cruising for various home improvement stuff. Mark was kind enough to help me figure out which switches I needed for my specific issue. I got his card and emailed later that night and asked for a quote for various projects, he promptly responded with a very reasonable quote. I have a lot of experience hiring contractors as we did a whole house remodel several years back. I've had quotes from contractors that jack up the price once I tell them I live in La Jolla. Once I received his quote I knew I didn't have to get a competitive bid. They were on time, professional and did work ranging from installing a fancy Euro chandelier to changing a few three way light switches. I was going to change light switches myself as I normally do but of all the home improvement projects, the ones dealing with electricity are ones that I most worry about so I just added them to the list. The chandelier installation went perfectly as did everything else. read more

Over a few years, I've had Chris and his team do a full panel upgrade, run new circuits and outlets in the house, and tie in solar inverters. He is always prompt and does spectacular work. These guys are spectacular. I highly recommend them and without a doubt would hire them again. I was nervous about hiring them at first because they only had one review here on yelp and I didn't know anything about them. I needed a repair in the evening and I was amazed when I called and they answered the phone and came down to help me! I was even more amazed with their service. They were courteous, honest, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable about their craft. They not only fixed the problem but took care of other issues that could have caused problems in the future - all at a very reasonable price. Not only that they are very nice people - and they cleaned up when they were done. My home was impeccably clean. Great service. Great people. read more
