Horrible! Caused our drywall to bubble up from him soaking the walls with water. We had to hire CLK to come do the job right after Emerald Isle did it wrong. Jimmy from Emerald Isle did a sloppy job and left the debris and water inside the units, which caused our kids to get sick after the units spit out dirty water after his "cleaning service." Gerry and his wife, Margaret, came by same day I called and I am grateful for their quick dispatch today! Mind you I waited majority of the day for a call back however, we know that most business owners are running solo on jobs that will keep them from making calls right away. They were able to call me back just after their last job while they were already preparing to call it a day. Instead, they showed up to help me with my A/C issue. For the past 6 months I have had an issue with my a/c system's secondary drain releasing overflow from the primary and I have called several people to look into the issue. First person took a look at the system, said everything looks good and since the drain wasn't releasing flow that things are better. The second person came by and inserted dissolvable tablets that were apparently supposed to "fix" the problem. No change in the issue and I knew if I didn't find the right person for this job, it will cost me a lot of money when I wake up with a hole in my ceiling at some point! I finally scrolled through yelp and read reviews of people who have had the same problem. It turns out that all the 5-star reviews for Emerald Isle A/C seemed genuine and each of them commending the quality of work and the gratefulness they had for the customer service they received. The best part is that the valid photos of all the issues they have responded to speak a thousand words already! Wow, the hazardous elements they have to work with and around!! With that being said, I saw for myself how thorough the job that needed to be done and I've been well educated on my a/c system as it helped me understand warning signs and preventive maintenance steps I should be taking more often than I already have. They were honest about scheduling appointments and because they also respond to emergency calls, appointment made in advance may need to be rescheduled. Honestly, if I had a major issue needing their urgent attention, I would truly appreciate that they make an assessment to contain the issue until they can return to complete it. It's not like they run a full-blown tower office to be at 10 places at any one time. Prioritizing their work and being honest with their customers seems to be their priority. That's what makes them world class service. They will give you 110% of their undivided attention when they do show up for your appointment because they know you can and will count on them. (For those reviews not happy with timeliness...) For the last 4 years since my husband and I relocated on military orders, we have found it challenging to find companies we can trust to assist us with many things around our home and today, I am pleased to call Emerald Isle A/C my go to for all our A/C needs!! Gerry was wonderful, honest & reliable. My AC had been acting up and not cooling. He arrived at my home 3 hours earlier than he expected & called to see if that was ok. I was all for it! After assessing my unit, he sat me down to explain all my options since it was an older unit, helped me weigh the pros & cons of replacing versus repairing. I chose to try to salvage it. He worked tirelessly for 3 hours on the compressor issue. He gave me a discounted price on my final bill. The AC worked initially, then acted up again the next day with the fan motor struggling. I texted him and he didn't think he could make it that next day due to other obligations and didn't want to make promises he couldn't keep (which I appreciated) so he came the day after. He looked at it again & went up to my attic, showed me what was going on up there with rusting of coils (took pics with my phone for me, again explained everything in simple terms). Just wanted me to know the unit was showing itself in age. He fixed whatever he could to help the compressor run, topped off my coolant, didn't charge me for that return visit. OUTSTANDING! Our family came home yesterday evening to find that the AC was not working (84° inside). Requested Gerry to follow up his service because after he cleaned my split ACs mold came back fairly quickly. When Gerry came back, he showed up 30 minutes past the appointment time with no call ahead or notice he was late. I was on an important phone call when he showed up. I let him in my house and told him my son was sleeping and to keep down the noise. Gerry then yelled downstairs to me (I was still on the phone) and again I said to "not be loud and my son was sleeping," then Gerry just packed up his equipment and left without even looking at anything. Always heard good things, too bad I cannot say the same as others. He found leak was caused by clogged primary drain. Flushed and cleaned line and drained pan full of water. While he was in the attic he noticed emergency shutoff device was disconnected. I found Gerry through a neighborhood app where everyone on the message thread had nothing but great things to say about him. My AC was leaking from inside our attic. I've been servicing my AC yearly for preventative maintenance and just had the previous AC company come by just a few months ago. I couldn't reach my usual AC people right away so I decided to call Gerry. He came out the next day and got the issue resolved. He also shared with us some pictures of what the system looks like in the attic and were shocked to see the mold that had accumulated (not sure now if the previous AC people really did a thorough cleaning).
