Secondly, the dentist himself is borderline sadistic. The one time I went to see him, I was sitting in one of the chairs and he sort of snuck up behind me, sat down really close to me, and announced, "Hi! I'm Dave!" The next thing I knew as he went to examine my teeth, I suddenly felt a sharp pain because he poked me in my gum with a sharp instrument, unexpectedly, and caused my gum to bleed. He gave no explanation as to why he did this and no apology for causing me pain. I couldn't wait to get out of there. If you've ever seen the Steve Martin movie, "Little Shop of Horrors," you'll want to stay away from Dr. Lester.

I sent mine, my daughter went in they tried to tell me every filling and root cancel she has ever had has failed and they need to redo all of it, phase 1 would be $8k, i said ok send me the breakdown, they did and we scheduled a few appointments, I was told my daughter needed a cleaning first they said they cleared the insurance it was 100% covered since she had one 7 months ago. They emailed me a breakdown of all the treatments which showed the cleaning was $0. I dropped my daughter off and once she was there they called demanding $140, i was confused and said its covered she said it wasn't so i said i have the email saying it is, she said oh i do see that and put me on hold and came back and said well the insurance doesn't cover this because she had it done 7 months ago so i need you to pay NOW. While I was in and out of the Fresh Dental office regularly, I didn't get that opportunity with Dr. Jentzsch. I chose another dentist at the time to help me correct the ramifications of not seeing a dentist for more than a decade. (periodontal diseas, cavities, etc) While he was a good dentist, he sold his practice without notice to his patients, leaving us in the hands of a provide that I wasn't comfortable with. Then I chose a dentist in a high rise downtown who was very nice but not the most attentive with oral hygienists that seemed to be struggling. I had to make a change and knew where I was going. While I wasn't well acquainted with Dr. J, I was with the oral hygienist, Tony. She Not only did he come well recommended for his skills, I knew him to be a very nice and knowledgable person. Dr. J. got me in pretty quickly for the preliminary exam and recommendations were made for care that I've continued to follow. Because of my issues, I see Tony for cleaning every 3 to 4 months to help keep my PD under control, and Dr. J has been replacing bad/old filling, doing crowns on teeth at risk of cracking, and just recently had to remove a tooth that had split down the middle while chewing at lunch. (Don't chew ice, kids!) While I had a few options for replacement, I chose an implant. Today was the day Dr. J and his assistant, Rigo, installed the screw for the implant. I'm not joking when I tell you that I laughed at one point during the procedure! I had read horror stories about the does and don'ts of after-care, and frankly I was terrified when I went in. (Bad history, remember?) When I asked him about it, he told me not to eat while numb so that I don't bite my face! He knows that I do dumb stuff like that. The procedure was painless, and the soreness after is being managed by ibuprofen. I appreciate the kindness and empathy of the entire staff. I regret going to to this dentist. I had a front tooth crown that didn't quite match from another…read moredentist. I went to Dr. Sullivan in hopes that after more than 5 years of hiding my teeth when I talked or smiled, I'd be able to get some confidence back. I'm uncomfortable all the time after a front tooth crown he placed back in June. I've made many, many visits back to get adjustments as none of my other crowns on this same tooth have been uncomfortable, so I knew it wasn't supposed to feel this way. At my last visit, as he was adjusting the back, he must have accidentally hit the bottom of the crown and sliced part of it off. This is one of my front two top teeth, and now one is shorter than the other. I noticed it immediately and asked him about it. He completely denied having done it, even though I pointed out that I walked into the office that day with both of my two front teeth being the same length. What followed is nothing short of shame tactics on his part. Telling me he can never make me happy (gaslighting), when all I've been striving for is to make my mouth comfortable again, the way it was before this crown. I never nit picked the aesthetics of his work. His crowns have all been beautiful and matched perfectly, which I've let him know each time. I went to a different dentist and upon examination he let me know that I am uncomfortable due to crowding on my bottom teeth (something Dr. Sullivan had recognized in December and was working on for me). Basically, my bottom tooth wants to be where my crown is, so of course I'm uncomfortable. I'm going to an orthodontist next and hope to finally feel better. What's heartbreaking is that I am hiding my smile again, as the bottom of the crown has been sliced off. And since I don't plan to get the crown replaced, I will be hiding my smile for a very, very long time. I don't expect perfection in dentists, as they are human, too! But owning up to and admitting mistakes instead of gaslighting and demeaning me would have been a better way to handle that situation. I probably wouldn't have gone back, but I also wouldn't be writing this review right now. To his credit, he did give me all my money back. He also does work with labs that create perfect looking crowns.

I had a really unfortunate and complicated situation when I met Dr. O'Hara in 2010. I already had two old root canal/crowned front teeth missing and bone loss when my previous dentist moved away. What a gift it was to be referred to Dr. O'Hara! The next year, I lost another root canal/crowned front tooth. I had to wear a dental flipper with three front teeth for over four years and I never thought I'd be able to smile, eat easily or enunciate well again.
