I took advantage of the Livingsocial offer "spend $99 to get $250 in service." This was a time consuming and painful experience for me. In all fairness, they must have been slammed with folks taking up the offer, nevertheless I had to leave several voice messages (one time the box was full) before I got a return call. After three weeks, someone came out to look at the six trees marked with a white ribbon. The cost was $500 less the $250 credit=my balance of $250. Three weeks later after returning home we found that one of the trees was untouched and another looked as though only one branch was clipped. It's been over a week since my voicemail to them and I have had no return call. I'll finish the job myself and surely will not participate in another such offer, especially with Emerald City Tree Service. read more

Consumers - DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I bought a deal through LS and contacted ECTS. I spoke to Richard and he took my contact number and promised to contact us and to be out to the house the following week do to an estimate. A day before he was to come out Richard did not contact us so I called him and spoke to him again. He lost my information I gave him. How frustrating is that! So I again gave him all the info. He again promised to be out Thursday. Yes you guess it. Thursday came and no call from Richard and no show. Do you still want to do business with these guys? Think again. My wife calls ECTS and finally gets hold of Richard and he promised her he MAY BE out on the weekend because they had a job in our area and he will get back to her. IF THIS TIME YOU GUESS THAT RICHARD DID NOT CALL BACK TO FOLLOWUP, YOU ARE RIGHT! I then attempted to contact Richard and all calls goes directly to voice mail. Beyond Frustrated - Do Not Use this company! I also purchased a deal through livingsocial. I first contacted the company to schedule and left a message after not being able to speak with someone in person at either phone number provided. After a week, I had not received a reply so I again left a message AND also an email from the company website. Several days later I finally spoke to Richard and he took my contact number and assured me that he would be out to my house the following week do to an estimate. He did not. I phoned again and he said he lost my information I gave him. Terrible way to run a business! So I again gave him all the info. He again promised "he would be out the following Sunday, maybe even by Wednesday, and to call him if I didn't hear from him by Friday". Seriously! He asked me to do his job and call him! I was SO frustrated and didn't even want to hire him, but here I am $99 paid to use him. Then to top it off, you can probably guess that he did not even come by the Sunday that he promised. I now have attempted to contact Richard each day for the last three days and all calls on BOTH lines go directly to voice mail. I put good faith in purchasing this voucher through livingsocial and DO NOT want to give him my business, which would be unlikely anyway, since he clearly does not want mine. I cannot comment on their tree service because in 2 months of calling and promises, they have not actually come out to provide the "free estimate". They have all these cupons out there and have not hired enough staff to meet the customer requests. If you want to be frustrated and not actually get anything done, be sure to spend money you will never get back here. read more

Richard and his crew did a great job trimming all my trees getting them ready for this year. He was fast and always on time for his appoinments. Once I finally could speak to this person and he said he will visit my place on Wednesday, I took time off from work and was waiting, he never showed up or called back.. Bought the living social deal. Richard came out quickly and gave a fair price for the work to prune 2 fruit trees. This was Feb. 22, 2013. It is April 17 and they still have not come out yet. They were scheduled to come out one date - never showed up. When I finally got through to them was told their truck broke down that day. Maybe so - but where was the phone call telling me they weren't coming? Said they would come out one of the following two Saturdays - never showed up. This is for a LivingSocial deal, hopefully regular customer have better experiences. It took multiple unreturned phone calls and emails to get them to come out for an estimate. It then took another months before I talked to anyone about coming out and doing the work. By that time my trees were in full bloom so we agreed to delay it until late spring. Then out of the blue, the LivingSocial deal was cancelled. I just recently purchased another online deal with a different company and they answered on the first call, scheduled me for the week after and sent me an email reminder. We will echo the previous posts, and cannot recommend this company. We also bought the LS promo and after 4+weeks of calling and trying to reach Richard, we have never received a call back to schedule the tree service. Totally beginning to feel like it is a scam. read more

Scam,scan,scan,take money and ran bought through LS no contact on nothing but they sure like the money scammers don't use

I too purchased the Living Social deal, if that's what they call it. Richard came out shortly after we purchased in early February and provided a quote. We called a few days later to schedule the work and were told it would be 3 weeks. Still no one has shown up. We were able to get a call to Richard about 5 weeks ago and he said we would have to check his website for dates that we were scheduled. We have checked and it lists first names and cities so we "think" we were scheduled for about a week ago. We've been trying to reach him but all voice mail boxes are full. Emails have gone unanswered. This is tragic customer service. I would think hiring someone to make calls and let people know their schedules wouldn't cost much. This may cost them their business. read more
