Went here randomly today and got a great bowl and awesome customer service! I've always scoped this place out but just never went. Glad I did, prices and reasonable and it's one of the legit healthy food places close to me. Each bowl is around 9$! If I'm ever in a pinch and don't want to eat crummy I'll definitely hit up this spot

Smoothies have become one of my ways to get a lunch or after-meal snack that's quick, refreshing, healthy, and reasonably priced. When I elect to go this route, my preference of brand and location is the Emerald City Smoothie off Central Way in Kirkland. Smoothies: There's a ton of flavors available here, I'd say probably 25 or so, and it's a huge variety. Honestly no matter what your preference is on fruit you're going to be able to find something you like. Do you want a smoothie starring lemon? No problem. Berries? Of course. Bananas? No problem. Peanut butter? Yep. There's plenty of blends so you're not stuck with one particular fruit (unless you choose to). Insider Tip: If you like acai the Sambazon is fantastic. On top of the general selections, you can customize a bit by substituting in different types of milk--such as soy or almond or adding in"boosts" such as caffeine, bee pollen, vitamins etc.. You also, of course, have the usual proteins you can add to either the fruit smoothies or the traditional vanilla/chocolate (or peanut butter) route. This allows you tailor things to your taste, diet restrictions, and health concerns/interests. A visit to the shop can both cater to someone trying to pack on lean pounds or lose them. Once you've made your selections you can feel quite confident that it's going to come out tasting great, and at this location, very consistent from day-to-day or week-to-week. Honestly you can go to other smoothie spots, order the exact same thing twice, and have a great experience one time, and have something that tastes like sugar flavored ice the next time. Consistency is key and this place has got it in spades. Last thing to mention, there are some healthy snacks the line the front of the counter, along with some protein powders as well. There's some interesting bars (good for hiking/cycling) as well as some unique jerky. Try to the Ostrim ostrich if you haven't done it--lean, not to gamy, and a good spicy taste. Location & Service: Right off of 85th as you make your way to downtown Kirkland you'll find Emerald City Smoothie on your right. You'll need to keep a sharp eye out the first time you go (it's between 3rd and 4th) It's a new location, taking over for the old location that once was in the Park Place lot (almost across the street). Street parking is generally available throughout the day, but you've also got a garage just slightly past the shop itself. Inside, the store gets good lighting, and has plenty of space (doesn't feel cramped). You can sit outside if you want on a nice sunny day, and the location is actually perfect to make a quick trek into downtown Kirkland, which is really a great city/town to visit on foot in the summer. Service is fantastic from the top down and it shows with: 1. Friendliness of staff 2. Ability to explain options/menu 3. Consistency of smoothies 4. Efficiency of getting people service 5. Ability to modify smoothies to your preferences These five things, on top of the product itself, make it a welcome stop during my busy work day. There's something to be said for professionalism. Final Thoughts: This is my favorite smoothie shop in the Greater Seattle area because of the variety, consistency, and quick/friendly service. If you're in the area give it a try. -AC

My smoothie was chunks of ice and globs of frozen fruit, and sugary, watery smoothie. I was very disappointed after spending $7 on it.

They should be changing the trays in the hot bar every few hours to maintain the fresh look and they should get rid of the old burned food. They also serve the same soup everyday. It's never fresh after 2 pm. They also used to have some nice potato soup and they stopped serving it. It's the sane few soups everyday. I just don't think the people that work in that department are happy to be there. I got screamed at one day when I asked when a fresh chicken will be out and he told that there are still chicken out there with anger when there was only two pieces of dry chicken setting there. Terrible way to talk to customers. I am hoping they can do something about the hot food bar and soup selections soon.

Have been stopping by this location more recently on the way home from work to pick up a few things. While I have only walked to the store, they do have free parking in the building garage. The store is on the smaller side compared to other Eastside PCC locations. Store interior feels a bit sterile and usually quiet when I shop here. Not a bad thing if you like shopping in a less crowded store. And I will say the store interior is an improvement from the old store which looked dated. It is not my favorite PCC to shop at, but I will continue to frequent it when I am nearby and looking to pick up some groceries.

This company was very fast in asking…read morefor payment but very slow (4 days from payment to receiving meds) at delivering the meds despite only being about 25 minutes drive away. I let it go since I was a new customer and they didn't have my credit card on file. As a second-time customer, this time waiting for two very crucial uric acid lowering meds, the shipping time left much to be desired again. They called on Wednesday while I was out of town, asking for payment. I authorized payment. They told me I'd receive the meds the next day - Thursday. I did not receive the meds until Saturday evening. That means my bird missed 5 doses of those crucial meds (2 doses on Thursday and Friday each, and 1 dose on Saturday morning). What's more aggravating is one of those meds requires refrigeration. It was packed with a small ice pack but because the shipping took so long, the ice pack was no longer cold, and the medication was room temperature. I called to ask about the efficacy of the medication and was told it was ok. Would they be honest with me if it was not? I doubt it. And who knows? Because between missing 5 doses and questionable efficacy, my bird passed 5 days after I administered the meds. I would never use them again and I'll request my vet use another company in the future. From my experience, this company is more interested in collecting payment first, and then taking their sweet time sending the meds. This would be fine if they were not in the business of helping to save animals' lives. I was out of town or I'd have driven to get those meds. Also, they close early and aren't open on weekends. I also gave them feedback that the volume of liquid meds is so small, their container so tall/large, and the syringes so short - shorter than the container, which makes extracting the meds into the syringe a challenge. Have these people even tried using their own packaging??

So no problems there. But since we were here, decided to get something I've been wanting for a while. On a visit to a Miami's Whole Foods, noticed that they sell Golden Osetra Caviar from TSAR NICOULAI ($94.99 for an ounce). Like some other sale items, there is more of a discount if Prime member, so got the item for $76.99. In the same area, there are caviar accompaniments like blinis and creme fraiche, so got some of that too. Self checkout was easy: able to use the Amazon app to generate a barcode for my account, and was able to use the Amazon credit card to pay for it. The receipt was sent directly via email, but printing is possible as well. Well...the caviar ended up being not good even though the expiration date was in May (2 months out): mushy and tasted a bit like mud. My daughter and I looked online to see if that was what it was supposed to taste like, and decided that it was not...something in the supply chain had ruined it. Returning it the same day was hassle-free, with the employee just asking the reason for the return, and returning the amount back to my credit card. Don't do food returns much, so wanted to give props to Whole Foods for making it easy for a valid reason.
