I've been working out with Jake for a year now, and he's really helped me improve my endurance and strength, especially for my job as a massage therapist, which can be pretty tough on my body. I have been a pretty avid runner and gym goer for about 25 years, and I have several marathons under my belt. Since covid, I had admittedly fallen behind on the maintenance/weight lifting portion of my training and mostly ran to stay active. Now that I've entered my 40s, I've been experiencing the tell tale signs of wear and tear from extensive running (patellar tendon pain, IT band syndrome, lower back pain, etc). I started training with Jake 3-4 months ago to address my joint pain/mobility issues and the results have been great. Not only does Jake apply his own expertise towards his personally tailored workouts, but he also has a vast network of resources (including an on site chiropractor) to help specialize workouts even more. He coaches by motivating, not shouting in my face, and when I'm doing movements correctly he will allow me to complete them without fake cheerleading that some other trainers do. He's also is very understanding and flexible, as I've had to make some last minute changes to my training schedule a few times and he's always accommodated. Jake also works with me on diet and calorie consumption, including suggestions on sources to get the best macros and eating schedules to extract the most energy for my workouts. Since I've started training with Jake, I've gone from having knee pain from just walking downstairs to being able to complete weighted squats/lunges with little to no knee discomfort. Before training, I was unable to put weight on my knees when I extended them over my toes, now I can do it easily. In addition to lower body strength, I've gained strength and more definition in my upper body, which is an added benefit.
