But this is not a gym; it is a training facility where you work with trainers to tackle your physical goals. Next, this is about my trainer, Kevin Abandy. Kevin has been my trainer for exactly 8 weeks now and he is awesome! I made the decision to get a trainer after my birthday to truly invest in myself. You can invest in your own skills and education, but the return is almost always indirect. But with a trainer, specifically Kevin, I gained 8 lbs of muscle mass and lost 8% body fat (approx. 13-lbs of fat) after 8 weeks of training with him. Also, at the start of my training, I had back pain (from past injury to T12) and knee pains (from under the kneecap). Through Kevin's program and coaching, my pain has been reduced to near 0 with full mobility -- like squatting all the way down and up with 200-lbs of weight on my shoulders with no knee pain. I would give a 1-star review to keep it from getting crowded, but it would be hard for me to not tell others about the good that comes out of this place. My mom is 70 and she's training with Kevin too! And the story is the same for her... knee pains - GONE. Back pains - GONE. Kacy is big on progression and basically operates under the assumption that you can always go up in weight, which has pushed my strength up (especially hip thrusts and RDLs). It's small group training, which keeps the energy up because everyone's working at the same time. He'll keep you accountable and make sure you finish your sets and there's a decent chance you'll leave with a random nickname you didn't ask for but it does keep things entertaining. In my first month I've already seen measurable changes in strength and body composition, so it's been interesting to see the progress show up pretty quickly. I always seemed to over-strain something and end up injured, so I was pretty hesitant about jumping back into weight training after having a baby. That's when I decided to look for a personal trainer. From day one, I was impressed by Kacy's knowledge and expertise. He has this uncanny ability to gauge exactly how much I can lift just by watching me do a single set--which I'm guessing comes from years of experience, but it's still impressive to see in action. Here's the thing about Kacy that might throw you off at first: he often looks distracted, like he's not paying attention. But don't let that fool you! He's tracking everything--your form, your reps, your timing--and he'll call you out if you're slacking on your sets. It's actually kind of amazing how dialed in he is even when it doesn't look like it. If you're looking for a knowledgeable trainer who will push you and keep you accountable (even when you think he's not watching), Kacy's your guy. Highly recommend!

    I've been working with Mia for almost 6 months now and have dropped about 5% in body fat and gained…read more7% in muscle mass. I would have never considered myself "overweight" but knew I needed to lose a few pounds. I've tried the traditional membership gyms but always found that I would lose interest or motivation. When I started inquiring about personal trainers, Mia was very prompt at answering. During our consultation I did a body fat scan and was shocked to find out that I was nearly 25%. We talked and I learned that it was less about the weight and more about body composition and fat/muscle percentages. Due to my work schedule we were able to meet twice a week for an hour a session. Mia adds good variety to our workouts and I definitively know that I push myself more during our sessions that I normally would have if I were doing the workouts by myself. She also places an emphasis on nutrition and offers advice on what to eat and what to stay away from. The last couple of years my diet has gotten progressively worse, and she's been a great help in getting me back on track. I've noticed that I've started making much healthier choices in the foods I eat. still have a ways to go but would highly recommend Mia for helping you get you to your goals!

I was going through such a tough tough time both mentally because of the loss and physically from being pregnant. I had done everything from boot camp, yoga, and cycling. You name it, I've done it. While checkin out my friends posts and stories on Instagram, I kept seeing posts for a facility that opened up in Chino Hills, Self Made Training Facility with Pablo from Ambitious Fitness. I contacted him and the rest is pretty much history. Myself, my husband, niece, nephew and son all train with Ambitious Fitness. Best things about Ambitious Fitness: 1) Pablo and his team (and I mean every single one of them) are incredibly passionate and love what they do, and it totally shows in their energy and the way they carry themselves. 2) They have this amazing ability to push you beyond what you think you can do. You would have never thought that this Asian girl who only played badminton and piano as a sport could deadlift 275lbs. 3) They make sure you will achieve your goals and get results. My results: Being only 125 lbs in college, it was hard to believe I would get to as much as 168lbs and 36% body fat, but I did. After a year with Pablo I got down to 148lbs and 19.1% body fat at my lowest. I am more physically fit than I ever was and mentally stronger. Hit Ambitious Fitness up!! He tailors the exercise routine that uniquely fits me at my age and fitness level and grows as those level changes. I never get bored since the routine rarely repeats daily or even weekly. at age over 40 and working a in front of a laptop for long hours a day, I actually look forward to working out each time. You only live once, and your health is your ultimate investment. Don't cheat your own health. After 3 years I definitely feel stronger , better, more fit and less stressed. Unfortunately, Joe no longer offers this program because there were not enough sign-ups. But it was so fun and most importantly my workouts were effective. I will be calling this weekend to see if this type of sessions is been offered again. The facility was always clean with plenty of type of equipment to utilize during my workout. As a beginner, I always felt comfortable and everyone around helps me maintain my motivation. The gym was also very local which was a bonus for me. Some days I even walk to my appointment.
