    Beginning of this year, I was at the heaviest I had ever been, was not feeling good about myself and my weight wasn't moving down as it previously would with some exercise. I finally decided to work with a personal trainer to feel better about myself and I found Mia! I worked with Mia for 8 months and my body fat went down by 6%, I'm looking leaner and feeling so much better about myself. Before working with her, I thought I didn't like weight training and it wouldn't be the right workout to lose weight, but after seeing more definition in my back and arms than I had ever seen before even when my weight was lower, and seeing my booty grow, it's so fun weight training. There's definitely a high to it. On top of that, I had been dealing with chronic low back pain for the past 5 years but since working with her, I have not had back pain at all which is shocking to me. Prior to working with her, I had no idea how strength training works, the weight training area of the gym was extremely intimidating, but now I feel confident being able to go to the weight section and knowing what to do through her training.     About six months ago I reached out to Mia because I was feeling sick and tired of literally feeling sick and tired. I had just had my 3rd child (in a span of 4 years), my postpartum depression was hitting an all time low, and worst of all it started affecting how I spent time with my children. Everything that I thought I knew about diet and exercise didn't fit my current circumstance and I knew I was at a point where I needed guidance and accountability. Mia is extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating. She pushes you at each gym session and helps you realize your full potential and strength. Her programming is realistic and sustainable with flexible meal plans that do not make you feel deprived and twice weekly training sessions for this working mom of three. Having Mia as my personal trainer was one of the best investments I have ever made and she has changed my life in more ways than one, because health is truly wealth. Because of her I am more physically, mentally and emotionally present for my children and most importantly myself.

    Josh is a professional gym instructor here. It's a great opportunity to learn more about fitness and supervision through him. I just followed him around one month, it's clear that I'm stronger than one month ago.

    It's my first time getting a personal trainer for weight training and I couldn't be more excited. This place is HUGE, clean, and such an upbeat vibe especially if you love Hip-Hop. Going on month three now and I am actually starting to love working out. My only contention would be the recent floor change. As of a couple of weeks ago, the small fighting ring was taken out and replaced by two large machines; the bar creates a very narrow path between the machine and the cubbies by the back entrance. I have personally almost walked into the bar a few times. It's a physical liability, especially when multiple people are walking by.

    Best bet is to call and ask to speak to The trainer you wish to get! 👌 Ask for Brian, he's the manager and he's the best. Tell him Anthony referred you from yelp.

    How much is a membership?

    There's no set membership. You meet with a trainer and they'll go over a personalized plan for you. Each trainer have their own rates and specialties. I recommend Ben

    Does this gym have a rope that clients can climb?

    No, we do not have a climbing rope.

    How heavy do the dumbells go up to?

    We have up to 150lb dumbbells.

    Do I have to sign up with a trainer to use the equipment? Or is it possible to opt out of a trainer and train alone?

    Hi Michael, We are a training private facility, so in order to use the facility, you must hire one of our trainers.

The manager was so rude and dismissive when I tried to ask a simple question, acting like helping members was an inconvenience. The gym itself looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. Several machines were either out of order or clearly worn out, and the ones that did work looked unsafe to use. For a place that charges a membership fee every month, you'd expect the equipment to at least be maintained. On top of that, i  was told i couldn't use the three-day free pass because I had been a member back in 2005 at a different 24 hour fitness. The manager insisted it stated that on the pass, but when I looked it up myself, it said you just couldn't have been a member within the last six months. Being turned away over something from nearly 20 years ago made no sense. What made the situation worse was how his attitude completely changed once he realized we weren't going to sign up on the spot. He became cold and basically turned us away, saying we couldn't even work out. He even suggested we go try another location and "maybe they'll let you do it there." Overall, the atmosphere was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Between the poor customer service, lack of cleanliness, outdated equipment, and the way we were treated, this was one of the worst gym experiences I've had. I definitely wouldn't recommend this location unless some serious improvements are made.

Finding Emmanuel again at his own studio was exactly what I needed. He's helped me shift my mindset in the best way. Their equipment is also top-notch, especially the free weights--they use some of the best brands in the industry. Because of the high-end equipment, you'll notice that the membership fees are on the higher side. ​The Cons (Hygiene & Maintenance): Despite the nice gear, the facility is extremely dirty and feels like it's never been cleaned. The handles on the treadmills and ellipticals are often sticky, and there is a thick layer of dust underneath the machines. It's gross! If you've ever been to the Planet Fitness in Diamond Bar, you'll realize just how dirty Curl actually is. ​The most shocking thing I've witnessed is the cleaning process. The cleaning lady uses the same brush to scrub the inside of the toilet bowl and then the toilet seat. Seeing her scrub the bowl and then immediately wipe the seat with the same tool is horrifying! To be clear, she works very hard and I'm not blaming her personally--management simply hasn't provided her with the proper tools or training. Additionally, there is a light in the shower area that has been out forever and never gets repaired. ​Atmosphere & Service: Another bizarre thing is that they don't turn on the AC during the winter. It gets incredibly hot inside. Perhaps that's better for the elderly members, but it's uncomfortable for a real workout. Furthermore, the front desk staff is completely indifferent; when you walk in, they treat you like you're invisible. ​Bottom Line: I only kept this membership because my child has an enrichment class nearby, and it's a convenient place to wait. If my kid weren't taking classes in this area, I definitely wouldn't keep this membership.

I was going through such a tough tough time both mentally because of the loss and physically from being pregnant. I had done everything from boot camp, yoga, and cycling. You name it, I've done it. While checkin out my friends posts and stories on Instagram, I kept seeing posts for a facility that opened up in Chino Hills, Self Made Training Facility with Pablo from Ambitious Fitness. I contacted him and the rest is pretty much history. Myself, my husband, niece, nephew and son all train with Ambitious Fitness. Best things about Ambitious Fitness: 1) Pablo and his team (and I mean every single one of them) are incredibly passionate and love what they do, and it totally shows in their energy and the way they carry themselves. 2) They have this amazing ability to push you beyond what you think you can do. You would have never thought that this Asian girl who only played badminton and piano as a sport could deadlift 275lbs. 3) They make sure you will achieve your goals and get results. My results: Being only 125 lbs in college, it was hard to believe I would get to as much as 168lbs and 36% body fat, but I did. After a year with Pablo I got down to 148lbs and 19.1% body fat at my lowest. I am more physically fit than I ever was and mentally stronger. Hit Ambitious Fitness up!! He has this uncanny ability to gauge exactly how much I can lift just by watching me do a single set--which I'm guessing comes from years of experience, but it's still impressive to see in action. Here's the thing about Kacy that might throw you off at first: he often looks distracted, like he's not paying attention. But don't let that fool you! He's tracking everything--your form, your reps, your timing--and he'll call you out if you're slacking on your sets. It's actually kind of amazing how dialed in he is even when it doesn't look like it. If you're looking for a knowledgeable trainer who will push you and keep you accountable (even when you think he's not watching), Kacy's your guy. Highly recommend!

I would have never considered myself "overweight" but knew I needed to lose a few pounds. I've tried the traditional membership gyms but always found that I would lose interest or motivation. When I started inquiring about personal trainers, Mia was very prompt at answering. During our consultation I did a body fat scan and was shocked to find out that I was nearly 25%. We talked and I learned that it was less about the weight and more about body composition and fat/muscle percentages. Due to my work schedule we were able to meet twice a week for an hour a session. Mia adds good variety to our workouts and I definitively know that I push myself more during our sessions that I normally would have if I were doing the workouts by myself. She also places an emphasis on nutrition and offers advice on what to eat and what to stay away from. The last couple of years my diet has gotten progressively worse, and she's been a great help in getting me back on track. I've noticed that I've started making much healthier choices in the foods I eat. still have a ways to go but would highly recommend Mia for helping you get you to your goals!
