I used to hate going to the gym because I would feel embarrassed. I had a few personal trainers, group classes, or just gym memberships. I always end up wasting my money 2 classes after. The trainers are either too pushy, not understanding, or time just doesn't work with my schedule. Most importantly, I feel like I don't belong there. Until I found Jennifer at Rec Shop! I have been here for a month and never skipped a class with her. Instead of making excuses not to go, I actually look forward to her classes! Everyone at Rec Shop makes you feel so welcoming, and you don't feel stressed out or embarrassed to be there! I Love Rec Shop! read more

The Rec Shop Training Facility has several highly- engaging and energized trainers that facilitate group classes. Some of my personal favorites were Jess, Rae, and Kirstyn! Classes are about an hour in length and there were fun challenges each month. For example, there was a May "bingo" challenge to fill up the entire bingo card with different small goals & prizes for participants. I was able to meet people, be physically pushed to lift heavier, and have my progress be monitored a number of ways. My meal logs were accessible to the owner, Fani, & her team to help me stay accountable, my body was measured using measuring tape at the beginning and end of my time there, and my body metrics were analyzed using a body composition scale. Thank you to the Rec Shop for this experience and helping me reach my goals read more

Honestly gym is cool, the people are cool and the atmosphere over all is cool. The added coffee shop is a plus. Just lately I've felt like the owner isn't focusing on bettering the equipment or cleaning it at that. There's a section that's open where a Pilates reformer used to sit (idk if that's what it's called) but every time I'm working out I see that empty section and the paint is all ugly the section is dirty in general. I think if they spruce up the place a bit more and keep up with cleaning this gym would be TOP 5 in Chino. read more

Still here and still love it! RecShop is family. I took a little break (okay, a long break) after having my baby, but I was welcomed back with open arms. They are all so friendly and push you beyond the limits you thought you had. I never thought I would be lifting the weight I was lifting pre-baby. read more

I've been a member at Rec Shop in Chino for over a year and a half, and it's truly become part of my lifestyle. The trainers are amazing--especially Rae, who leads the evening classes. She motivates me to lift heavier, checks in on my nutrition, and helps build my confidence. The community here is supportive, and I've made some great friendships. If you're new to working out or looking for a fresh, motivating gym environment, I highly recommend Rec Shop! read more

I have been training at REC since 5/21. I cannot express how welcoming, supportive and encouraging the staff and members are. There are many fitness journeys and level of fitness but you feel welcomed and part of team at REC. It's nothing like any other training facility or gym that I've worked out in. They offer classes, private training, small group training. It's a great place to start your fitness journey, you will not feel out of place or out of sorts. Which is always the biggest hurdle when going to the gym. The coaches are support encouraging. read more

First, I would like to start off by saying rec shop is amazing. All the trainers there are super sweet and experienced. Luckily for me I got to train with the owner fani. Fani is an amazing trainer. She explains everything thoroughly and shows you step-by-step. It helped that she did that because I have ADHD and I have a hard time focusing and picking up on things but she was very patient with me and took her time to explain it to me until I understood.. I've lost so much weight and I'm starting to feel confident again I owe it all to rec shop. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming. Overall, my experience was amazing. I would 10 out of 10 recommend. Hands down best experience! read more

I chose this gym because I was coming back from a knee injury but still wanted to work out (and work out properly without doing more damage to my knee). So when I saw that Jason was experienced with physical therapy as well as personal training, I knew i had to take advantage of that and signed up ASAP - and glad I did. The gym is very clean and well kept. Jason is very accommodating in working with my schedule. He is really good at replying back to my texts quickly. The exercises Jason has me do is almost always different and new so i dont feel bored. Thank you Jason & Rec Shop Boot Camp! read more

I haven't tried out this training facility. I thought I will get in after I figure out the monthly price or price for each sessions. I was introduced by Fani however I didn't receive a straight answer about the prices. I was offered for a free health assessment and then possible discussing plans. However, the schedules didn't work for me, their trainers are busy on other days, and I never had my free health assessment. So I thought I will try something else. Anyhow, I came to know their monthly boot camp or unlimited sessions per month cost around $140- $160. read more

THE NEXT CHAPTER IN MY LIFE IS CALLED HEALTHY & HAPPY. I can distinctly remember the first day I walked into the REC Shop gym. Immediately I got the feeling of, "this is such a happy place!" I was introduced to the owner Fani. She made me feel welcomed and comfortable all at once. What struck me the most about Fani was her genuine love for all her clients. There was sincerity in her concern for their physical well being. I am in my 60s, and that was a concern for me. Fani reassured me to give REC Shop a try. That every work out could be modified. I had to dig really deep to walk into the gym with all these younger clients but again they all made me feel very comfortable. Now, they all tell me i inspire them! I did a trial workout for a month, and that month turned into the best 15 months ever. I know Fani has great intuition in choosing her trainers. The trainers follow her lead in knowledge, communication, passion and energy for what they do. Always patient with me, for small and big accomplishments they cheer me on. My coaches know what I am capable of & always push me to do more than I do. And I trust them! I could go on and on about the Rec Shop Gym. It's cleanliness, amazing trainers, great vibe. Good experiences. My biggest accomplishment is after 13 years on high blood pressure meds, my Doctors have taken me completely off BP medications. My Drs at St Jude Med Center in Diamond Bar are extremely proud of me! And wanted to hear all about my gym!!! Hands down one of the best choices I have made. If this is possible for me, it can be for you too. I still have weight to lose & I will continue on my fitness journey, life is just to precious not to! read more

Rec Shop Training Facility - Morning Bootcamp class with the best! - Boot Camps Near Me - Chino, California

Love this gym!! I attended the grand re-opening/expansion this weekend and did the 30 minute "Glutes of Steel" class. My buns were on fire and no I'm not talking about grilling hamburgers. By the end of the class my old gluteus maximus was newness awesomeness. Now I can crush small fruit with my legs and when I jump the clap of my chiseled cheeks break the sound barrier with a satisfying ku-chunk sound like a cowboy swinging a whiplash. Thanks Rec Shop for my newfound confidence in my badonkadonk. But seriously though this gym is perfect, so much space, brand new equipment and all of the trainers are really nice. The owners Fani and her husband Valin are amazing and have really put care into making this gym a great experience for people. They are also really sweet, nice people and I feel happy being a part of their gym as a client for their personal training program. Fani has been helping me with strength training and after a few weeks I am already seeing and feeling the positive results on my body! She has been very encouraging and helpful during my workouts and has made me feel welcome and comfortable here right from the start! I have also trained with coach Angelina and she is amazing! She's super nice, knowledgeable and makes you feel heard and seen whenever you are struggling with a workout and has helped me find the extra push I need to finish a set or go for more reps. I also love how she integrates a bit of a mindfulness approach and showing gratitude to your body during and after workouts as that's something I try to practice in my everyday life. This gym has been the perfect boost I need to feel better about myself, my body, and my mental health has been improving since I started. I can't wait for my next workout!!! read more

Prior to checking out Rec Shop I tried CrossFit, Hot Yoga, Pilates and other HIIT group training type gyms but what I was missing was a sense of community. Everyone at this gym is seriously so nice and workouts here are so much fun. The coaches truly care about your journey and keep you accountable. And now I really look forward to working out. I officially signed up in April 2020 and did classes online due to the pandemic. These classes helped me with my form, strength and endurance. Not to mention I've lost inches and gained inches in the right places! I wasn't seeing these kind of results until Rec Shop. In conclusion, Rec Shop is the best and the best thing to happen to me in 2020! Excited to come out of this pandemic looking fly and feeling good! read more

I've tried other small gyms and Rec Shop definitely stands out!! Fani is amazing! She holds you accountable, kicks your butt during workouts and is so helpful with getting your healthy eating habit started, because it is a lifestyle after all She's always available via text if there is anything you have questions about. I had a chance to meet the other coaches and everyone is very welcoming, you could definitely feel the positivity and love walking through the doors, and that's why I love this place! My 2 kids (boy and girl) are going here for the kids sports camp. They were very skeptical at first but right after the first day they were telling me how much they love it and want to go back! They look forward to the classes and they are sweating by the end of it! They love the coach too! Their favorite part is (in their words)- "it's fun and you work out at the same time". Thank you Rec shop for introducing fitness in an enjoyable way to get my kids off the screen! read more

I just want to take the time & say that Rec Shop is amazing! More than amazing it is a second home to me. Not only do you look forward to seeing your dedicated coaches but you look forward to seeing your rec family. My first day @ rec Fani was so welcoming , she went around introducing me to everyone in class. The second day I already had encouraging friends rooting for me not to give up on that last rep. Whether it's morning classes or evenings the environment does not change. After my 1 month special was over I did not hesitate to sign up. My coaches Fani , Jason , Andrea & Lauren are all great! I even was willing to sign up for 18 months. They all reach out , they ask you how you are & they don't give up & welcome you every single day w/ a smile in the facility. I've been to bootcamps before nothing like this ever! Beside from the atmosphere... the workouts are KILLERS (in a good day) ! Everyday is different & it is not a routine which I like! Each coach has a different style of teaching & let me add they are all great. I am so happy w/ my results after one month friends & family were complimenting me. They are active on social media & respond so quickly whether it's over DM's or text messages. I love rec! Best investment in myself. So thankful for this place. Remember it's not just a 'ordinary' bootcamp. BE READY TO SHED & SWEAT & be part of a F A M I L Y that wants you to do better & be better. A Bonus & the Best part is you can do double classes!!! Make sure you sign up for your classes & you are set to go. Thanks coaches & rec family read more

My friend brought me here as a guest and tried a Saturday Bootcamp session. I liked how friendly the members and staff were. Surprisingly impressed by this facility overall. I usually go to 24 hour fitness and never think I'd need a boot camp class, but after realizing I didn't use my gym membership in over a year, I decided I needed to try something new!! I was a little nervous and intimidated at first, after not working out for an entire YEAR, but I was immediately surprised at how friendly and welcoming the staff was to help me just get started. I love how to coaches know how to comfort you to take things at your own pace but also allow you to get to know your body and push you to your limits. They really know how to push you, not only physically, but mentally!! I love how this training program has helped me just change my mindset and get back into working out again. Now I feel like I can do anything! Unfortunately, I had to move to Orange County recently, so I cannot attend regularly but I try to go as much as I can on the weekends because I miss everyone so much!!! Never met a team of such laid-back, yet energetic and fun coaches anywhere else. And the have the best MUSIC! So whoever is reading this please give it a try because it is definitely worth it!!! Ps - Thank you coach Jason for all that you've done. No words can express how appreciative I am of you and keep continuing to change people lives like you have with mine! read more

I have known Jason since working together at a Physical Therapy clinic years ago. Being a physical therapist I have a different perspective on fitness classes. I finally got a chance to participate in his classes. It was a great atmosphere. Staff was really friendly. The class itself was fun, challenging, organized and safe. Jason was able to keep the class engaged and was keeping an eye on your form and making sure you were doing the exercises correctly. I think that is so important especially in avoiding injury. If you're looking for a place to meet your fitness goal, Rec Shop is the place. Jason's background in strength conditioning, and rehabilitation places him above most other trainers out there. Highly recommend! read more

I visited Rec Shop for the first time recently and I was very impressed with the facility and training. This is a great place for anyone looking to improve on any performance sports, strength, conditioning, high intensity and interval training . The work outs will definitely reach or exceed your fitness goals. Jason is a great trainer and gives you a lot of attention during your boot camp. He pays close attention and monitors your movement to make sure you execute the work outs correctly. This helps prevent any injuries and assures that you get the optimal benefits from the exercises. I highly recommend Rec Shop to anyone who is bored of just going to a "regular gym". I also recommend this to anyone who would like to enhance they're lifestyle and would like to add to their current work out regiment. You will not get bored, you will get strong, and you will learn A LOT here! read more

Let me preface this by saying I've known the instructor, Jason, for years. He's a friend's cousin who I've had the pleasure of beating in Fantasy Football every year for close to ten years. For as long as I've known the guy though, I never knew this is what he did for a living. A little about me: I've been hovering at about 185 lbs. (5'9") for at least the last seven years. I've tried multiple diets and some have helped me lose weight but I would just end up gaining it back. I'm the guy who jogs every now and then and does a couple push-ups and sit-ups at home. I'll be completely honest though; none of what I did or ate ever helped me get into clothes that are seemingly meant for skinny people so I decided it was time for a change. I needed professional help. When I called Jay to inquire about the place, I told him "I'm not out of shape, but I'm also not in shape either". I probably should've left out the first part though because after the first day, I could absolutely say I'm not in shape....at all. The workouts are very intense and keep you moving the whole time. I've been going for a week so far and the workouts are still as hard as the first day but with Jay coaching you and teaching you the proper technique, you slowly get the sense that you're finally "getting it" (even in such a short period of time). I know if I continue to go, I'll achieve my fitness goals. Jay is good at explaining how some of the moves are helping you reach your goal. I think that's the thing I like the most. Jay and I had a short discussion about what I wanted to accomplish and every time you're working out, he always seems like he has your goals in mind when doing the exercises. It just seems like everything he makes you do has some purpose (something I never felt before during other workouts). As I mentioned above, I'm a middle-aged, slightly overweight guy but it really is something anyone can do. The intro class was great. It really gave you a sense of what he's all about and after the second and third classes, you knew that first class wasn't just for show. He gives you a great introductory deal so it never hurts to try it out. You never really know until you see for yourself, right? read more

Wow--What a work out! Not going to lie, I almost threw up, but it felt good to be active again. Jason really knows how to push you, yet still feel good at the end. Equipment is great. Positive energy. Clean facility (I like the turf area). If you're worried about a babysitter, there's a kids play area. I highly recommend giving the boot camp a shot--you won't be disappointed! Overall, two thumbs up! read more

Exercise ranks really, really low on my list of favorite things to do. It probably falls somewhere in between moving and cleaning - one of life's necessary evils. So when I find a place that doesn't make me hate every minute that I spend working out, I know it deserves 5 stars. I began coming to Rec Shop just 3.5 weeks ago. I hadn't worked out in 3 years (yes, YEARS), and I was scared sh*tless to start. I actually threw up towards the end of my first workout. (Side note: Don't start boot camp after gorging on margaritas and Mexican food the night prior.) It kicked my ass, but Jason and Nray were nothing but encouraging the entire time. The words "boot camp" might conjure up images of a drill sergeant screaming at you to keep going, but that couldn't be farther from the truth at Rec Shop. Jason is a true professional, and he understands that everyone starts out a little shaky. He pushes me hard enough to get results, but not so much that I might cry. And you just can't beat a 45 minute workout. I mean, who can't spare 45 minutes to do something good for themselves? Each class consists of about 10 minutes of warming up, 25 minutes of intense exercise (a combination of cardio, weight resistance training with equipment, and floor exercises) and 5-10 minutes of stretching afterward. It's fast and intense and there's no time to stop and think about how much you don't want to do something. Not to sound too much like a Nike ad, but you JUST DO IT. And it really is over before you know it. Everyone here truly cares about each other. I get greeted warmly each time I walk inside, and the other people in the classes are super supportive of one another. Jason talks to everyone about their goals, he asks how we're feeling, and he is aware of our strength levels and capabilities. After just 3 weeks, I already feel completely different. In the beginning, I struggled just to make it through the warm-up, but after a few sessions, I found that I could make it through an entire workout and actually feel GOOD after. Sore, but good. I'd be lying if I said "I love working out now!" But hey, I definitely don't dread it anymore. read more

Because I don't have the diligence to go to the gym and work out on my own, I knew that a boot camp would be the best pathway to losing weight and feeling great about myself again. I could not be more thankful that I was able to find RecShop. I believe that with Jason and his team's leadership, I'll stay inspired to be fit the right and fun way! read more

For 9 years I have been working out at least 5-6 times a week. Of course I took several different boot camp classes before. It was a class which has one instructor in front of full of peoples in a huge gym. The trainers didn't know what was each individual's need and couldn't fix bad postures even if they are doing wrong way. But this REC Shop boot camp is totally different. I can tell this is a customized boot camp and actually like a small group of personal training. Jason, Rayan and their team are very knowledgeable and helpful. They know each individual's physical problems, strength levels and abilities. So they give more attention to each person and can modify the workouts depends on their conditions. They keep pushing, motivating and encouraging. I am bored easily if I repeat same exercise. But Jason was trying to change different exercises every time. Even if I have been working out for 9 years, I still have new exercises that I have never done before. I'm glad to find this gym and met the best trainers in this area. The facility is awesome, very clean and all trainers are nice, welcoming and friendly. The workouts here are very intense and hard. But when I leave this gym, I always feel great and looking forward to the next class. read more

I have been coming here for about a month now, 3-4 days a week, and still getting my butt kick every class. Each class i've been to has different exercises so your body never gets use to it. Their High Intense Interval Training program is one of a kind in its own. A 45 minute full body workout that consist of: warm-up (exercises that gets your whole body warmed up), intense workouts (5-8 stations with multiple exercises in each stations), and stretching at the end. You don't have to spend 2 hours at a gym to get the results you want. You get better results here for 45 minutes then spending 2 hours lifting at the gym. Jason is a true professional, very motivating and encouraging. Helps you push yourself to the limit and to the best to your abilities. He helps correct your form for each exercise while you perform so that you don't hurt yourself doing them which is key because not many trainers continuously do that for the entire workout. The entire staff here is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. After just a month coming here I've lost 12 pounds, lost 2 inches off my waist, dropped my body fat % down 6 percent, and gained muscles that were never there before. I feel more energized, stringer, quicker, lighter, healthier and all in all better about myself that when i first started. I recommend anyone and everyone to come out and try out a class. I guarantee you will come out feeling accomplished and satisfied. You will never know how much better you will feel until you try, so just like Shia Labeouf says "JUST DO IT!!!" read more
