Embers is literally the best restaurant in Gainesville. The ambiance is good (not too rowdy/loud), the service is always top notch, and the food is delicious. I usually get the filet mignon (they have the best one in Gainesville) but the day my group went, they were offering American Wagyu. It was completely different from Filet Mignon. The taste, the feel in the mouth -- everything. It was surreal. We also got the flatbread, crab bisque soup, and the escargot, which are staple dishes whenever I go here and they still taste pretty good. Got the Crème Brûlée which is pretty good too (controversial take but, I think Fresh Market in Gainesville has the best Crème Brûlée). I also got the cookies to go. The cookies, are the best dessert in this restaurant. They're basically a cookie in a cookie, and it is worth every penny. Overall, I love Embers!

Steak was cooked perfect, shrimp was fire, and the cheesecake... yeah, I'm still thinking about it!!! But let's be real.. the real highlight was Devante and Nick. Hands down the best duo. The vibes, the service, everything on point. They made the whole experience 10x better. Good food is one thing, but when you've got a team like that, it hits different

My husband and I recently celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Embers Wood Grill. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the porterhouse both were perfectly cooked to our specifications. My filet was delicious and you could cut it with a fork. We both had the lobster mashed potatoes and asparagus really good sides. The service by our waiter was exceptional, he was able to make recommendations and was attentive to our dining needs. I had the banana foster cheesecake for dessert really food too. Cocktails: Gin Basil Smash and Maple Rye Old Fashioned you need to try these...

We celebrated our 25 wedding anniversary with a great dinner at Embers Wood Grill. The food and service were superb. We enjoyed a filet mignon and a porterhouse Steak . Both steaks were absolutely excellent including the side dishes . Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Living in the northern western part of Florida this is one of our favorite places.

I've been here quite a few times and have been pleasantly surprised each time. I will say, though, that I've only been for meetings so haven't seen or had a chance to know what the rest of the menu is like. They tend to have the same menu almost each time so I'm familiar with what I like by now. Appetizers such as shrimp cocktail, margherita pizza, gator tail, calamari, and salad are typically served and oh so good! For my personal appetizer I like to get the crab bisque. I've had it a couple of times with the last time being the best. It also comes with a crostini which is a nice touch. Entree wise I get the filet mignon EVERY time, cooked medium. Why? Because it comes with lobster mashed potatoes. I dream about those things sometimes they are delicious. Dessert has been different but I do like any sort of cheesecake offered. There has to be one of the best I've had outside of Cheesecake Factory. It had a special touch to it that I can't figure out what, but I'm glad it's there. Needless to say I highly recommend and I definitely plan to be back outside of meetings. It's a cute special event, date night, or just because spot.

Melvin was our server, ironically, Victor took our reservation and made it a point to come over and introduce himself. I didn't think the food was overpriced and I did think everything was absolutely delicious!!! I had the cowboy cut ribeye and my wife had the 10 oz wagyu filet mignon with diver scallops. We will definitely be back to this place ... A hidden gem of excellence !!

Really one of Gainesville's hidden gems! I hesitate to mention this one because I love it so much! I fly from across the country at least once a year to eat here. The service is always good. They are a safe space and so chilled. If you want high quality food with a classic vibe (inclusive energy though). Warning: I don't eat sweets but every single item on their dessert menu is delicious. I have to order something sweet every time I visit. The bread pudding is amazing!

    Is this place expensive?

Yes it's expensive by Gainesville standards, but the best high end restaurant in town. Great steaks and seafood. Exceptional service too.

My only minor beef is that the blacked fish wasn't very spicy. Still great though. Service was very good. Great spot and best prices I've seen anywhere.

The wings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and hit the spot, and the fries were crispy and satisfying, simple but solid. That said, when my friends' seafood boils came out, wow. The smell alone was incredible rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. I couldn't resist trying a few bites, and I'm glad I did. The potatoes and broccoli were especially good, soaking up all that seasoning, and the seafood itself tasted fresh and well-cooked. You could tell this is really where they shine. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and it's definitely a fun, casual spot to go with friends. The atmosphere feels laid-back and social, which makes it great for group dinners. While my non-seafood order was good, seeing (and tasting) the boils made me want to come back and try a full seafood meal next time. Overall, a solid spot with great flavor, especially if you're a seafood lover. I'd absolutely return and next time, I might just give in and get my own boil.

The wing batter was amazing: not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly better than Popeyes or even KFC. A lot of places give you more batter than chicken, but here the chicken was moist and a good portion. The hush puppies were also surprisingly moist and flavorful, some of the best I've had since they're usually dry elsewhere. My find and I split the order and since we eat small portion we think that was a good portion for us and also had leftovers.
