This is more about the Emagine customer experience than anything else. I am a basic rewards member and received an email from emagine saying they may have mistakenly sent a incorrect rewards update email. I replied that the update I received was fine but thanks for heads up. A woman heading guest services named Jill Baran quickly thanked me for my reply and basically gave me a free ticket for what turned out to be no trouble on my part. What a nice person and what a positive attitude to take. I was very pleased with this gesture and told her so So, I went to see Dunkirk that night, which I was planning on doing anyway, and as I went to get my popcorn, the young lady smiled, offered "butter in the middle" which I always love but in other theatres hate to ask because the person makes you feel like you are upsetting their day. This young lady at emagine Macomb proceeded to do the butter in middle like she was doing it for herself. There is a massive difference between the Emagine experience and everyone else. I love this theatre! I recommend it to everyone for their comfy seats and food service. I haven't been to another theatre since they opened this one. My boyfriend and I are quite the movie-goers and we live right around the corner, so we've definitely spent lots of weekend time here. However, my last experience left me giving this place two stars. We walked in, my boyfriend ordered a quesadilla and I ordered a pizza both to be delivered to our seats. Shortly after the show started, my boyfriends quesadilla came. Since he gave the girl the ticket I mentioned "I ordered a pizza too" so she would know where to come back. "It will only be a little longer" she said and off she went. An hour into the show and I finally decided it wasn't coming. When I went out there every single employee was standing around the counter talking and carrying on. I said "I ordered a margarita pizza a long time ago" the cook behind the counter was extremely apologetic about it as he pulled my box out of a little warmer and gave it to me. (Although he always forgets my ranch.) anyway the thing that bothered me was the girls attitude. She's like "it was me I forgot where you sat" no you didn't. Another girl says "oh you guys lost another ticket.. Nice!" I think this theatre needs to hire less high schoolers and more people who aren't careless jerks. When I heard a luxury theater was coming to the city of Macomb, I was very excited because I am used to MJR, AMC, etc. When I walked into this theater for the first time I was really impressed. Paul Glantz did such a wonderful job of bringing movie atmosphere to the city of Macomb. I have seen many movies since this location opened, (Night at the Museum 3, Paddington, SpongeBob Sponge Out of Water, Paul Blart:Mall Cop 2, and Tomorrowland). Now to the theater, this is my go-to theater for many reasons 1) Reserved seating, skipping the box office and having your own seats is a very nice perk at any theater 2) Recliners, as other reviews mentioned, so much leg room and the most relaxing chairs in the world 3) Reasonable prices for tickets and concessions, $6.00 for a matinee is NOT bad for a luxury experience, and food and drink is not badly price considering unlimited refills Go here, BEST THEATER EVER, hats off to Paul Glantz and his crew for bringing luxury movie-going to Macomb read more

We (2 of us) saw a matinee on my Birthday last week, most of the staff was super friendly, the seats were comfy and clean, and the drinks at the bar were even great. It being my birthday, we went all out: drinks at the bar, food, popcorn, etc. My complaint lies with the food service and quality. My boyfriend and I had to get up 3 times to ask where our food was, they said it was a shift change error the first time my boyfriend got up (about an hour after we placed our order). I completely understand something slipping through the cracks and mistakes happen. The 2nd time my boyfriend got up to see where our food was ( about 1 and a half hours after we placed the order) they said they just started making it but they moved it to the top of the queue. I had ordered nachos, and I knew it shouldn't take forever and my patience was waning, so about 15 minutes later (one hour and 45 minutes after placing the order) I got up this time, and asked for a manager. I expressed my frustration very respectfully, explaining it was my birthday and I bought drinks, and all the food, and the popcorn, and my boyfriend had to get up twice already and was missing the movie and I still didn't have my nachos, and I wanted some type of compensation. The said he would offer my 1 small popcorn voucher for my next visit. I said, "thank you, but I don't think that's fair" and reiterated the time spent away from the movie and the fact it was my birthday and the length of time waited. And he said, "well, that's why I offered you the popcorn voucher so we can get you back to watching the movie you paid for." I was now frustrated that he was trying to get me out of his hair, mind you, I completely kept my calm, and said thank you and went back to the movie. 2 hours after the order was placed, I got burnt, cold nachos (I didn't know that was possible) delivered to my seat along with 1 small popcorn voucher. I've been an avid movie fan for as long as I can remember. I've been to many theatres big and small. Emagine Theatres are hands down the best experience I've had. The only place that comes close is the Alamo Theatre in Kalamazoo. This place has it all frankly. Starting with the lobby, it has a great atmosphere. Player piano, screens with easy to read information, plenty of self-pickup kiosks, and an open bar of you're so inclined. I'm here often at the early showings around 10-11am and the bar is open even then. I don't really drink at theatres but I think this is cool anyway. The bathrooms are elegant and completely hands-free. I love when urinals, sinks, soap, and paper towels are all automated. It's clean and convenient. From there you might be inclined to pick up snacks. There's quite a vast array of options including even slushy machines. There's also one of those Coke machines with tens upon tens of options. Pricing is comparable to other establishments but I feel like this place is well valued and particularly fair with refills or combos. Then there's the theatres themselves. This is my favorite aspect of Emagine Theatres. Seats are leather and comfortable. They all recline both on the back and at the legs. Cup holders for everyone and enough leg room so that even when reclined people won't have a problem passing you. The sound and screens are fantastic as well. I've never had an unpleasant experience and I'm constantly impressed that this location used to be a Kroger. The only disappointing factor compared to another great theatre chain like MJR is the fact that early morning films are still pricey. I'm seeing a movie this morning which starts before 11am and I'm still paying $8 a person. Still, you get some luxury and comfort for your trouble. read more

I Really don't need to say much, this Place is not only a great Theater, it's going to change the way it watch movies forever First I Have to point out is the Seating is placed out so great, if you're carrying lots of popcorn and Sodas! It's a breeze to go through people, and the seats itself are practically La-Z-Boy's for the movies, you can Recline the seats?!?! It's so cool that you can even do that in a movie theater. Plus there's a Bar Lounge where people hangout, Valet Parking, Lots of choices other than Regular popcorn (there's Cheese, Caramel, even a Light calories choice for people). There's also coke freestyles, which that means FREE POP! AMC & MJR would only give out one, but this you could get as much as you want. And last to point out the Staff! They look like they enjoy working there, and have a great time helping out the customers, Overall it's a must go to have good time in the cinemas again. read more

Check your receipts!!! I took my daughters to a 5:15 movie tonight. After paying for our popcorn, drinks, and nachos, I noticed that my receipt was incomplete. Only one item was listed and the total was over for $33. I asked the cashier to reprint the receipt to show all the items. She called the manager who gave me two different receipts. I added the items and it came out to around $25. The manager was called in again, he approved the refund without saying a single word. No questions asked and no explanation was offered. Both employees were very unprofessional and obviously not concerned. We have been supporting this business for many years. This is a big company, there is no need to steal from customers. I can only imagine how many times this happens to unsuspecting customers per day. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. As a 6'4" guy but slender, I stopped going to theater years ago as it was very uncomfortable for me and I couldn't sit still. I would've much rather watch from home and be more comfortable. When this place opened up, I decided to give it a try when I heard about reclining seats with footrests. As long as there are good movies out, I have been going almost every weekend since!! LOL Many different choices to see your movie as well - standard, EMAX (surround sound), 3D, and some locations even have D-Box seating (rumble chairs). If you go before 6PM it really is cheap for what you get - I think standard recliners for the matinees are $6! It can get a little pricey if you go at night and see a 3D EMAX movie, but what the hell, splurge a little bit! Concessions is where it gets expensive, like any other theater really. They do have a full bar with Michigan beers on tap - it is quite impressive. If you get a really good craft beer, it'll run you $12 BUT you do get a 32 oz. cup for that so really it's $6 a pint - pretty average cost for any brewery you may go to. They have a grill with a ton of other options, none of which I've had except the pretzel bites (which are hit or miss for me) and obviously the popcorn. Their "small" is ever so slightly smaller than their large, which is awesome. Both beverages and popcorn comes with free refills - so even though you spend some money at concessions, I feel you do get your money's worth for a theater. Join Emagine Rewards, buy your tickets in advance online to pick your seats, and enjoy this place! You can avoid the ticket line if you buy at home before you go (remember to print your ticket out!). This location is a bit out of the way from where I live, but I was planning to be out this way on a particular day and decided to stop in for a matinee. This is probably one of the best theatres I have been to in the area. It is super clean and has a ton of great food menu items other than the standard popcorn, candy and pretzel choices. The staff I encountered were very pleasant. As far as the theatre seating, super comfortable! Almost so comfortable I was trying not to fall asleep. Went to see Avengers End Game last night. They double booked our seats, ended up in the cuddle chair far right. Obviously no one reserved that seat because the view is horrible and uncomfortable. They did not even reimburse us the monetary difference between the seat price we paid for and the less expensive one we got. Not to mention the embarrassment of not having a seat and having to stand around as the movie is starting. This is after them forgetting our food order several times on visits prior to this incident and giving us no compensation. I hear the MJR in Chesterfield has more comfortable seats, guess it is time to switch it up. read more

This by far one of the best theaters I've been to. It is rather small compared to the others. But it makes up for it cleanliness and style. It's been open for a month or so. We will be returning quite often. As far as features go. It has self check in on giant touchscreens. Huge bar area that is well stocked and designed. The way the concessions work is a new concept to me. Very good plan though. You can get a pizza to nachos to snacks. It's kind of a cafeteria style. Alot faster than normal theaters. Plus they have the new Coke dispensers. The actual theater has reclining seats. All powered by a switch. Seats are huge and totally nap worthy. If the seat is reclined all the way. There is tons of walking room still. Very nice touch. Plus all seating is assigned like a sports game or concert. Very nice for us since we are a family of four. read more

The theater seats were nice and spacious, mine however kept malfunctioning, and I swear you could set your watch to it. Every fifteen minutes the seat would gradually go back to it's original position. Theater was nice and clean, restrooms were also clean. Food was way over priced, I understand movie theaters get pricey but this was a joke. We spent $90 for tickets and food for four people. Also disappointed that we couldn't sit together. They split are seats up, don't know if it was because people ordered online or what but that was a bummer. Won't go back not worth it, I'll sit at home and enjoy my 90" tv with great surround and no idiots talking around me. read more

We did not eat there, but it looks like a fun place where you can order your food and have it delivered to you in your comfy seat. Theatre, food and shows are great. The bar is not so great. I ordered a drink from a special board priced at $12.95, it took 20 minutes for the bartender to make it. Then when she rang me up my total was $18. I asked why and she didn't know, the other bartender didn't know so they called someone else. I waited another 15 minutes (missing my show at this point) for the other person to show up. They spent a good amount of time whispering and looking over at me. Then the new guy looked at the computer and said that $18 is the price for the 24 oz vs the 16oz. I asked how much liquor was in the 16 oz, he said 2oz, and how much was in the 24oz, 4oz. I did watch her make my drink, and I could only see her put 2oz of liquor and 1oz of triple sec. I asked if $7 is the standard upcharge between drinks, and asked why it wasn't on the special board. They just said they don't know. Overall was a really frustrating experience. I would have never spent $18 on one "double" drink, and missed a good chunk of my show waiting for the drink, and then for clarification. And the drink was not great. read more

In my 4 experiences at this Emagine theater, I can't think of one complaint. Everything seems reasonably priced considering the price of their competition. Yeah, it's more money than you'd want to pay to see a movie, but that's what you need to expect in 2015. This place is no more expensive than any other theater, yet, it's a much more satisfying experience. The staff is helpful, and the overall experience is above average every time. Came here last night to watch "Detroit". The theater itself is pretty new and very clean inside. They have a nice food court with touch screen self service soft drink/slushies. we watched our movie on the Emax screen which is nice and large. The seating is extremely comfortable with reserved seating available. Pricing is comparable to other movie theaters, maybe a little more expensive. They also provide free popcorn on Tuesday's which is a plus! read more

Loved this place! It was clean, the chairs are huge and comfortable, sound system is amazing! Food and service are a must try when watching a movie at Emagine, my family was not disappointed! As a matter effect we won't be going to a regular movie cinema any more =D I would recommend buying your tickets online and in advance to make sure you can make the most of the experience and sit with your family/friends. A few grumpy costumers were complaining at the service desk for not being able to buy tickets and I truly don't believe it to be the "Emagine" fault. First timer. Reading the reviews I just had to try this theater out. Upon arrival we noticed signs on the door that they only accepted cash (system was down), so we had to make an atm run. It was quite crowded so didn't wait in line for food since our movie was due to start soon. The theater itself was awesome. Loved the reclining seats and the space inbetween the aisles. They have destroyed this theater. It used to be good however it has became trash. The newest and worse upgrade is the new seats. They always had large comfort reclining seats. However they recently switched the seats to smaller less comfortable seating. Its clearly a greedy tactic by the owner to sell more seats. I will be avoiding this theater from now on. This is after being a avid movie goer since it opened. The theaters main selling point were the seats. However now AMC and MJR have better seating as well as higher quality screens. There is no benefit to go to this theater unless you enjoy the bad tasting pizza. read more

Every single time I go here, I have a great experience. I love the fact that I can get a drink from the bar and bring it into the theater, and the fact that there isn't just your basic movie theater food, there are some actual entrees to get, too. My service has always been impeccable and extremely friendly. The bartenders that I've come across have all been very helpful when I was figuring out what I wanted to drink, and answering my questions. I also enjoy that there is minor entertainment in the lobby of the theater. I am a musician, and appreciate the self playing piano. It's a hoot! As for buying tickets, I would recommend buying tickets online, beforehand. My fiancé and I just do that on our phones, and this way we are guaranteed two seats together, as all seats are reserved. Buying tickets this way ensures that the drive to the theater won't be for nothing. When I say that all seats are reserved, that means that when you buy tickets, you choose which seats you're going to sit in. So everyone has an "assigned seat". The reclining chairs are absolutely wonderful, though the theater could do to fix a few of them. There have been a select few times when my recliner didn't stay where I wanted it, because if I just reclined it a small bit, it would then continue reclining little by little until it was fully reclined. Apart from that, all of my experiences here have been top notch. If you haven't come here, I would recommend that you do. Once you start going to Emagine, you never want to go back to a regular theater. read more

The transition of theaters' appearance and layout goes has improved tremendously. This brand-new theater completely met and exceeded all of my expectations! I do recommend buying your tickets online ahead of time, as seating is reserved and our showing sold out. The lobby is classy and has a full bar plus lounge seating. I was happy to see several local craft beers on tap. Their concession area offered better-than-average food choices at expected (read: normal for a movie theater, which are all ridiculous) prices. The movie screens are large and the seating was outstanding! Fully reclining seats with plenty of aisle room for people to maneuver past. Their matinee prices ($7) were a bit higher than other theater, but still reasonable given the better facility. read more

Movie theatre clean and comfortable. However the staff was totally incompetent. I'm here with my 2 kids to see Toy Story 4 that starts at 2:15. It was exactly 2:15 when I come inside and there is only one person at the counter selling tickets. I purposely got here a few minutes close "start" time because I know the previews can last a while..The lady in front of me decided to sign up for a loyalty account while the rest of the line is now growing and complaining. The manager is off in the distance sitting at a high top sipping on a slurpee occasionally looking up at the line while she's reading or doing paperwork or something. I gently and quickly voice that they could have another worker at the front in situations where people are signing up for loyalty programs that take time to have information collected ect...the girl completely ignores me and told me to pick my seat....thankfully we still made it in time to see the show...just a crappy start off to the movie. read more

Awesome theater!! The seats recline and are so comfortable. Aisle room is great. The only thing is the seats nearest the screen aren't as adjustable and comfortable as the seats in the back section. Popcorn wasn't the best movie theater popcorn I've had, but it doesn't matter the theater is still awesome!! Every seat is a first class seat. This is the only theater I'll come to from now on. This place is great. Big comfy recliners with plenty of walking space. They will bring you your food so you won't miss anything. The only complaint is the lights used to illuminate the aisles are pointed in your face, and they are bright, if you are near the aisle it's very distracting. If you walk up the stairs they aren't in your eyes. It's like they were installed backwards. Food and drink areas are always clean.
