Went Christmas day for Star Wars and was very impressed with the bartender, I cannot remember his name but very friendly. By far my favorite movie theatre. And I frequent the movies a LOT. Their popcorn is the best. I love that they will add butter to the middle and actually OFFER it to you. They have the seasoning toppings and I load up the ranch. I also love all of their other food and drink options. The pizza is yummy. I enjoy that they let you take your seat and deliver to you. I'm not a huge fan of their pretzels, just because they tend to get over fried. I've never had anything else that was disappointing in the slightest. The place is always impeccably clean. The staff is always super courteous. Bathrooms are spotless. Hubby and I have done back to back movies more than once because it's just an awesome place to hang out. The only reason this theater is getting a 2 star.... Well love they give you different type of popcorn to choose from like cheese, caramel and regular movie popcorn and coke products but that's where it ends. The lighting in the theater is so dark you couldn't see steps to your row. The labeling of the rows is not lit well so you can't see them and seat numbers are worse. The movie we went to see was a special event and not only did it start 40 min late, but being this was a student film, there were interviews before the film started and with all the technical difficulties it stopped again and as they were trying to fix it it was on Dish network as a special event. They were surfing through Dish programming. It stopped during movie then at the end as interviews were being shown of political people talking about all that was going on cut out again with at least 20 more minutes. Staff said they weren't fixing it and people walked out. Very disappointed but not surprised coming from emagine. This is the third time I've gone to an emagine theater and third time I've been disappointed. Won't ever go again. Yes, they gave us free movie pass for any movie, but I wanted to see this special event and I can't make it on the 4th for the next preview. I'll see if I can view it online. read more

This is a really great theater. I don't often go to the movies so when I do it's nice to have a really good experience when you're paying premium prices. When you walk in here you feel like you're in a kind of cool little restaurant or bar. There are some really nice tall tables that you and two people can sit at on the left hand side, or a cushy lounge area on the right hand side with bar. Then right in front of you it's like you're at a almost fancier mall food court area where you can order food and have it brought right into the theater like really fancy little pizzas or you can just pick up your classic sour patch kids, popcorn with as much butter as you want or even cookie dough. As far as The Theatre Experience goes, these are your typical Emagine Theatre recliners. If you are not familiar they have seats that fully recline and also they have what they call snuggle seats that you can reserve if you're coming on a date or whatever where there is no middle arm rest between two seats. You reserve your seats in advance by going on the website or the app and then when you come in you have the confirmation on your phone or you could print it out and come into the theater and your seat awaits you. I highly recommend if you are coming to see a brand new popular movie or coming on the weekend reserving as far in advance as you can. You could always get a refund if you decide not to go or need to change time, but if you wait until 5p on a Saturday to see the 8p show for the new Marvel movie or Star Wars or whatever popular movie is out, you're going to get seats in an unfavorable area, not together, or not at all. The seats are super comfy, the food is really good, the popcorn and pop prices really are what you'd expect at a movie theater chain, and I think if you've never been here before you'll have a really good experience. read more

Emagine Theaters have a lot of hype surrounding them, and after visiting twice in two weeks, I can say that at least this location is deserving. The lobby was a little strange at first. It felt like I was checking into a hotel; everything is very posh and not like any other movie theater that I've been to. It was odd to see a fully tiled lobby, a full bar, lounge seating with fireplaces and dining tables too... I haven't had much interaction with the staff, but they all seemed friendly enough. I'm very impressed with the layout of the concession area. Orders are placed at counters in the back, you can grab your own snacks, and everything is paid for before you enter the hallway to the auditoriums. This is so much more efficient than stacking a line 20 people deep while you miss the opening credits. The concession prices however leave a lot to be desired. This shouldn't come as a shock, but everything is overpriced. $13.50 for a beer, $10+ for a pizza... I understand that this where theaters make their money, but there is a point where it becomes excessive. If you are inclined to get more than popcorn and the standard snacks, they'll deliver the food right to your assigned seat if it's getting close to showtime, so that's a plus. The theater auditoriums are quite nice and well worth the trip, but the seats can be odd. Some seats have one button that controls the back and foot opening, other seats have separate controls for each part of the seat. I've found that the back row has seats that offer dual controls, and I find that preferable and much more comfortable. Either way, the overstuffed recliners are huge and for the part, comfy enough to a 2 hour movie. The audio/video presentation was pristine. I haven't seen an EMAX presentation yet, but the standard theater is good enough, so I'd imagine that the EMAX would be a bit better, if only for the larger screen. While Emagine didn't innovate the assigned seating in a theater, it's now my preferred way to see a show, since I don't have get there an hour before showtime to get a good seat. Again, it just makes the experience that much more efficient. I'd say this is my preferred theater by far, even though it's 10 miles away. $6 matinees are hard to beat, and the theater is spotless. The same can't be theaters in my immediate area, and when the same show time is twice the cost, there's no comparison. read more

This theather will give you that warm fuzzy feeling, even if you see a horrible movie. Yes it is that good. We liked it so much, we went twice in 1 week and we live in Roseville. Like anything in this area, if you go at peak times, it is going to be a madhouse. The Hubs and I usually go to the movies on Sunday mornings, so we can avoid being here when it is super crazy. 5 Stars all around! First, price. If you go at peak times, or see 3D it can get a bit pricy. BUT if you go any day before 6 pm, $6! That is amazing. Now food prices are a totally different story, like any theather they are sky high. I don't need a $13 beer to see a movie...or a ball game. It's just gotten out of control. $6+ for a "small" popcorn. Ouch. But again, that is the industry all around hiking those prices up, it isn't just Emagine. Second, atmosphere. It feels a bit like a hotel lobby when you walk in. it is very sleek and modern. Lots of touch screen kiosk to buy or pick up tickets. Staff all around was very nice and friendly. Third, concessions. SO efficent! I LOVE the set up! Walk up and grab the candy you want. You don't have to wait forever just to get a pack of skittles. If you want popcorn, just walk to the popcorn counter (!bonus! They add butter to the popcorn half way if you want it!) There is pizza, fried green beans, nachos..pretty much anything you can think of. Pop machines are the nifty Coke machine with 100's of flavors. Fourth, Seats. Reserved seating. I don't know why this wasn't in theaters before "luxury" seating. Honestly, that is always the worst part of going to a movie. Hoping you get good seats, and they are enough for your group. Then there are the recliners. They are almost too comfortable. I have nearly fallen asleep in these sets watching some realy good movies! I just get too comfortable and feel like dozing off. Fifth, rewards! They have a rewards program that allows you to collect points with ticket AND concession purchases! Other theaters will only allows you to earn points with ticket purchases, or you have to pay to join the program. Emagine's program is free! read more

Okay I just reviewed the Novi location which is not my preferred location,however,even though Macomb is my fav I have a bit to say here too! I took 1.5 stars away because of the POPCORN QUALITY. Staff is friendly and the establishment kept clean! When imagine first opened the Cheese and Caramel Popcorn was the best! Over the last year or so the quality has changed. There seems to be less cheese powder with less caramel on the popped corn. Oh, and there are kernels everywhere. This place went to hell! How sad, this started off as the most beautiful and spotless theater when it first opened. You wouldn't even see one Piece of popcorn on the ground, years later I come back to this establishment to find it disgusting and dirty. Bathrooms were a mess, employees were hanging out and talking, pop and slushy machines were down, and the volume from our movie was so low a patron had to get up and speak with staff to turn it up because they had no employees checking the quality of the picture or sound. Like ALL emagine movie theaters, they build and open them to perfection just to come crumbling down years later. Thank god there is an AMC near here. Good luck to you guys. This is the best movie theater ever!! Why?? First: All movies before 6 pm are only $6 everyday! Second: You can book your tickets online, choose your seats, and do not need to pay extra for reservation fees. Third: Super comfortable seats that recline! Fourth: Lots of leg room! I went in last night to see the new jumanji, it started at 10:45, I paid for a large popcorn and a large. Total 16$ around 11:45 I couldn't get refills because the soda machines were off, and the popcorn stand was closed. I won't be back to Emagine theaters, atleast have the pop machines and popcorn stand open until the last movie is over. Again I'd rather not have to spend 16$ when I can't even get a refill. I absolutely love coming to Emagine, it's always a real "theater experience". I've been here on several different occasions, different times of day, and every time is just as relaxing and fun. If you become a rewards member, you get lots of perks like earning points toward a free movie ticket! I love coming here with my kid for matinee movies, only $6 for both of us because she can sit in my lap in those big recliners so no admission charge for her. And if we come here on Tuesdays as reward members, we get a free bucket of popcorn! The evenings however are fun for a date night or girls night, with lots of yummy food options and a full bar/lounge are to relax in before the movie starts. The best part... you can take your drink in! After going to this theater... I can't "emagine" going anywhere else! read more

It's sad because for a few years we highly recommended Emagine. Although I still stand that their rewards system is great, the experiences lately have been rough. Granted a theater cannot control rude people coming to their place, but the last couple times we had to deal with disruptive people sitting next to us and nothing is really done. Not to mention the food has taken a turn for the worse. last time we ordered nachos and they were not good at all. This time we ordered two pretzels bites...yikes they were burnt and hard. Horrible management! As long as you're under 18, it's ok to throw food at other people watching the movie. But if the people getting food thrown at them happen to be an adult, they get treated like garbage. Kids throwing food and talking the whole movie were not removed or even spoken to. Movie started 10 minutes late after we had to physically get up and tell someone to turn the movie on. The place has gone way down hill and I'll be taking my money somewhere else and be sure that as many people know not to come to this theatre as possible. If I wanted to have a scare, I'd go to a haunted house, not the movies. My fiancé and I loved the theater but the service at the bar was awful. I stood at the bar for 15-20 minutes, while other people were coming up after me and getting served first. I didn't want to be rude and say anything. We weren't acknowledged with a "I'll be with you in a few minutes" etc.. instead, we weren't acknowledged at all. My wife and I recently bought tickets to see a newish movie at the Emagine in Macomb. The film had been getting good buzz so it was with initial disappointment that I received a call from the theater notifying us there was a problem. Jim, a manager at there, reported that the movie for which we purchased tickets wasn't being shown and that the tickets' availability online was a mistake. Expecting a simple refund and the "not my fault" attitude that has become de rigueur in customer service, Jim surprised me by apologizing, offering to refund the tickets, and asking that we accept free passes to a movie of our choice along with complimentary refreshments. Having already lined up a babysitter for the evening, we picked another movie and headed over Saturday night. The facility itself is top notch. There's a bar with comfortable seating and a concession area that is well-stocked with the standard movie house fare. The auditoriums are new, clean, and filled with comfortable leather power recliners and the audio/visual components provide for an excellent theatrical presentation. Emagine allows patrons to reserve specific seats online. As I was unfamiliar with the layout of this particular theater, I asked Jim to select the seats he would choose for himself. The ones he picked were ideal (in the middle of the row, set back a row or two from the midpoint between the screen and projector) though the arrangement is such that most of the seating appears to be better than satisfactory. As luxurious as the place is, we walked away more impressed with the experience provided by the management. Jim was attentive, professional, and eager to ensure that we enjoyed our time at the theater. Whatever cost went into the free tickets, popcorn, candy, and soda pales in comparison to the years of good will they will get from us. Not only do we plan to return but I intend to tell everyone that the Emagine Macomb is a fantastic, clean, state-of-the-art entertainment venue managed by professionals who strive to deliver a superior movie-going experience. The food quality here has fallen dramatically., What used to be pretty good, is now more like a school cafeteria. Same menu items, just lower quality and taste. Seats are great when you get a working one. The thing that irritates me is the "Spirit Airlines" pricing. Please, I don't need to do this ala catrte for a friggin movie ticket. If you wanna charge $10 for a ticket then by all means do so. Tell me that's what it costs and I will give you the $10. Seriously?), the women's restroom didn't have toilet paper for some reason, there's two separate sets of lines you have to go through to buy stuff such as popcorn, and they're incompetent staff makes the viewing experience unforgettable because of how bad they are. Of all the Emagines are great, but this one is the best! There are other chain theaters trying to shoe horn in reclining seats to compete with Emagine, and it doesn't work! This theater is incredibly designed! I always say I feel like I'm walking in to the Aria casino in Las Vegas whenever I attend a show here. It really is elegant with modern touches. The fireplace gives it a warm feeling, the couches are nice to sit and have a drink before the show, and there is never a long wait for the bar. The place is always super clean and everyone is really nice. I just wish this place was larger. I love to see all the limited release "indies" and unfortunately they tend to stick with just the popular big box office and children's movies. Emagine theater is always fun to go to. The inside is very clean and nice looking. They have a cool bar and even some food options, which is always a plus, especially if you arrive early or are waiting for someone. The only issue that I have with them is that the seats in theater can get a little uncomfortable on your legs if you have longer legs like myself. The leg rests are just a little too short and sort of cut off the circulation at the bottom of my legs. I understand that not everyone has this problem, but it has been my experience. I'm only 5'11". Other than that, I enjoy Emagine. read more

Visited to see Fifty Shades with my best friend. I'd never been to this theater, but she swore by it. OMG was she right! Everything was clean, wonderful atmosphere and the recliners were super comfortable. Plus they offer blankets for only $5 if you get cold watching a flick. If this place was in Missouri, I assure you I'd be seeing movies more regularly. Great deal! Oh, and I was glancing at some of the other reviews on here. They actually respond to reviews. I'd like to start by saying that I really hate having to leave a poor review of the theater, as my movie-watching experience was actually great. It was my first time here, but my fiance has been here before with his brother and said it's the best theater in the area. I agree, as far as comfort and the movie experience. However, the meal service was very disappointing. We spent over $30 for a quesadilla and chicken tender meal with drinks, and I asked for cheese for my fries. I was told they can only put the cheese on the side, and I agreed because I actually prefer it that way. One HOUR later, we still had not received our food. I went out to the grill area and noticed 5-6 employees standing around and talking to one another. I spotted our food on the counter and inquired why it was taking so long. An employee said "oh, we forgot." Given that he was likely no older than 16, it was difficult to be upset with him, but still, one HOUR and it's just sitting there. I was forced to carry the food back myself, and then noticed that the cheese was on the fries (and there were literally only 6-8 fries total), and our food was stale and cold. The cheese was congealed, and my fiance's quesadilla had very hard edges from sitting out for so long. We chose to just eat what we could as neither of us wanted to miss any more of the movie, but overall, this was not a pleasant experience for us. read more

This was a five star theater experience. All theaters have assigned seating. It's best to buy your tickets online and select your seats because they have up to four sold out theaters per day. They have a bar area with many TVs and it's very plush lounge area in the lobby. The seats are leather and they decline very very comfortable. If you order food and its not ready before the movie starts they will deliver it right to your seat. Folks it just doesn't get better than this. I love the Emagine theater read more

Why go anywhere else? Prices are cheaper than AMC/Star, Service is always A+, and oh yeah, they have powered recliners for seats!!! That's really all I have to say about it. 1 thing to take into consideration... It is best to plan a day in advance. Its not random seating like most theaters.. You actually pick your seats in advance. So, for a movie that has been out for a while on a not-so-busy day, you should be fine, but if you are planning on going prime time, do yourself a favor and plan in advance, at least a day. read more

We have gone to this theater several times. It is always clean and well maintained. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. The theater also has a bar and lounge with a piano and fireplace. It is a nice place to wait for your friends or for your movie to start. The concession stand offers a variety of food. The theater has three varieties of popcorn: buttered, cheese and caramel. There are free unlimited refills on the medium and large sizes. The theater utilizes the Coke Freestyle machines so you have a wide range of choices for your drinks. The auditoriums are not as large as some of the stadium style seating in other theaters but the have large comfy power recliners. You are able to reserve your seating which is nice when you are going together with a large group of people. The theaters are very nice and make for a wonderful movie going experience. read more
