I was very excited when we heard an Emagine was coming to Macomb County! I took my family there on New Year's Eve to see Night at the Museum. The place was so new it smelled like a new car rather than popcorn! I was expecting long lines but was pleasantly surprised. We did not have to wait to check in or to get our popcorn. The prices for refreshments were very reasonable. We got a HUGE tub of popcorn (and that was a medium!) that was more than enough for me and my teenage sons to share. The seats were amazing and very comfortable. It was nice to have so much room between seats that you didn't have to "incline" for someone to get by. The only reason for deducting one star (it would have been a 1/2-star if I could have) is this: Our seats were the first 5 seats in the row before/after the entrance. The light in the hall was very bright and was left on throughout the entire movie. During that time employees were walking back and forth with garbage cans and brooms. It was very bright and very distracting - like trying to sleep in a dark bedroom with the light in the hallway on and the door open. It would be much better if they dimmed the light or there was a swinging door or even a curtain over the entrance to the theatre. Other than that, we loved the experience and will definitely be back. I will just be a little more educated as to where to pick our seats! read more

Emagine Macomb looks good on the surface. A very beautiful venue with reasonably priced matinee and evening tickets. The popcorn is delicious and affordable, and the full sized kitchen has a nice variety of food, also at a very nice price. The employees are helpful. The girls working up front selling tickets are extremely friendly and greeted me with smiles. The bartender, David, was very friendly. The people working popcorn were very nice, and answered my questions, seeing as it was my first time there! Kitchen staff was very nice when they took my order and cooked me a delicious pizza! The cashiers were great. But I think the most important aspect of this business was the people working out on the floor, maintaining the incredible cleanliness of the hallways, theaters, and bathrooms. Also, the people standing inside the theater, checking tickets, and directing people to their seats, or whatever else a customer may need, are the real superstars if Emagine. Without them it seems it could be complete chaos, with people sitting in the wrong seats. With all of the positives out of the way, let's move on to the negatives. In all of my visits to Emagine Macomb, I have maybe seen ONE manager per trip. Where are they when I have a question that the lower level employees don't know the answer to? When they call for a manager to help, they sure take their merry way getting up into the lobby. It doesn't seem like they care too much about what they're doing to make an honest effort in helping their customers. The one manager I saw didn't seem to be doing any work. He was standing alone in the vestibule of a theater, eating a bagel while watching a video on his phone. Very productive, isn't it? Not only does it look like they aren't doing a whole lot, but they aren't the nicest to customers either! The managers I've seen are kind of rude when they're discussing something with someone! I can't believe it! The seats are cool, in theory. Very uncomfortable and it seems as though only half of them work properly. Some of them are like rocking chairs, some slowly creep back, not staying in the position I want it to (I'm 175 lbs. it's not me). And some of them straight up don't even work! There are way too many technical difficulties when it comes to the movies too. I could buy a ticket for a 12:00 pm show, and have nothing on the screen, not even commercials, until 12:30. It looks to me like most of the problems at Emagine come from people higher up. It's a shame that this isn't a grade A business, because it certainly looks that way on the surface. read more

GORGEOUS theatre! It blows my mind that this place used to be a Kroger. Staff is friendly and while the lines for food can get long, they move fast! I love that they deliver food right to your seats and the seats? OMG amazing. It's like watching a movie in your living room but 100x better. Top of the line. We go in early evening because tickets are half of what they are during evening prime time. Reclining leather seats. We like the assigned seats. Their website does not charge a booking fee although it mentions one. I have advised management to remove mentions of that as it make me hesitant to use online booking (I HATE TICKETMASTER AND SIMILAR FEE RIPOFFS) until I called to clarify. read more

As something new and exciting opens we must try it out. On a gloomy Michigan day, what else to do than take the kids to see a movie? We stumbled upon this theater by word of mouth and we are in love with the newest establishment that hit our area. My children absolutely love this theater and refuse to go elsewhere! Not only does it have a full service menu, bar, and the "lazy-boy" seats that make you never want to leave, it has fun friendly staff. Even though still "new" the environment is very laid back as you enter the doors you have the choice of either visiting the service cashiers or obtaining your tickets via kiosk (easy, and saves time) you then collect your drinks or edible items of choice - they bring your food to you after its been cooked which lessons wait time in lines and possible spillage of said food by crowded areas?! Now here's the best part....... The seating! Oh the wonderful, widened leather reclining seating! Genius!! This is epitome of luxury movie watching. Anyone who is anyone will fall in love with this theater...... See for yourself! My only suggestion is bring a light jacket or something to cover as it does get a little chilly... read more

My wife and I have actually been here on numerous occasions with no complaints, but today we drove approximately 15 miles from where we live (30 mikes round trip) to see the 3 PM showing of Wind River. When we tried to buy tickets we were told something along the lines that they weren't sent the right codes from the distributor to show that movie, so they weren't showing it. I look to the right and up on their board of what was playing it was still listed as playing today. When I pointed this out to the girl selling tickets she just sort of shrugged her shoulders. I also pointed out to her it was still listed as playing on numerous movies apps like Moviefone, IMBd, etc. Again she acted like she could care less. My wife asked to talk to a manager and we explained to her that it didn't seem like Emagine made any efforts to let people know this movie wasn't playing, and it was still up on their board and many apps. We got the same nonchalant response from her like she just didn't care. I realize we could have just bought tickets to another movie, but it was just before 3 PM and there nothing else starting until 4 or 4:30. My wife and I just couldn't get over that the people that we talked to acted like they didn't care at all and we were inconvenienced and wasted the money on gas. read more

The theater it's self is very nice, but this is only my second time going here and it's a night and day experience, the place is absolutely filthy the parking lot looked like it was on 8 mile riddled with trash, and then I get in and my seat is covered in popcorn, I'd hate to see what it looks like behind the concession stand.... read more

Since this theatre opened it is the ONLY theatre I go to. Only drawback is not a ton of show times but I will change my schedule to do my movie going ere; I will never go to another theatre again...oh, and it's only 2 miles from my home!! read more

Outstanding theater. The ticket prices are comparable to what MJR and AMC are charging these days. Plus, movies before 6pm are only $6, which is a great deal given the reclining seats. But if you buy refreshments, especially anything from the bar (yes, they serve booze), or from the restaurant area, expect to pay a huge premium for it--just like you would at any theater. Three tips. First, ALL of the seats are reserved. When you buy your ticket, you pick your seat out in advance. You can also buy tickets in advance online, which means you can make sure you're going to get seats together, where you want to be. Second, if you have young children, the seats are large enough that they can sit with you comfortably. I'm a big guy--6'5", 285 lbs--and my 4 year old daughter was able to sit with me comfortably. Last, if you like slurpee drinks, this is the place for you. Slurpees cost the same amount as other soft drinks, and there are unlimited refills on all soft drinks and popcorn. read more

Awesome experience. Great location with ample parking. Super comfortable seats, but many don't recline properly so I've had to switch seats at times. Prices are good in my opinion and the popcorn, frozen cokes, food, and BAR are all yummy. Did I mention they have a bar?? My only gripe is that there is always ONE person working the counter and it takes forever because you choose seats on the touch pad, and there are no movie titles & times posted. I personally prefer to order tickets online and after seeing how long you wait in line to do it in person, that's the only way I'll do it from now on. read more

I have not been to or taken my kids to a movie in years. We started going to Emagine a few months ago and this is a whole new movie going experience. Very clean, good size, helpful staff and reasonable prices for popcorn/pop etc... They also have a bar which is a such a nice addition. Every seat in the house is a good one even the front row. Once you see a movie here you will never see one anywhere else again. Buy your tickets early on line and prepare to enjoy! read more

I always enjoy going to emagine. Every experience is nice and comfortable and I absolutely love the reclining chairs. This particular visit we went to see X Men and no spoilers about the movie. I think it is nice that they provide wait service during the film. I would also like to commend the lady who told another customer to put their phone away because it was distracting from the movie. read more

The theater is definitely a good one but wouldn't say perfect. Positives: - Comfy chairs and aisle room - Reserved Seating - Cleanliness - Ticket Prices Negatives: - the auditoriums are not big. This makes it not feel like you're going to see some big movie. it has more of the movie room in someone's house who happens to have amazing seats. I don't know if that makes sense but the awe of seeing a movie kind of diminishes because of the small size. however you get way better seats so it is give and take. Emax is a joke. adds nothing to the movie. just trying to take an extra dollar. - Popcorn is not good. actually most of the food isn't very good like pizza. Also chicken items are not as advertised - Since the theater is small compared to other competitors, it doesn't have a lot of options when it comes to movies. They do get most of the big releases but sometimes dont. read more

Just enjoyed my 2nd visit last night and again they delivered! There is almost nothing to complain about! *Popcorn is delicious, but I do wish I could add my own butter(I'm a fatty) and I love the idea of the olive oil popcorn even if I'm too nervous to try! *The food! Quesadillas were delicious. Bacon-cheese fries, could've used ranch but still delicious! I don't even know what I'm going to try next! Maybe pizza? *Pop! The Coke freestlye is honestly a genius idea. *Booze! Still haven't gone that way yet but still love the idea! *The seats! No visual obstructions, huge amounts of room! Only a couple things I can think of negatively that seem to be more of a "We're new and working out the kinks" * After you deliver food to our seat.. do I tip? I felt bad not tipping.. *Garbage, make the cans bigger for the exiting staff, i actually kept my trash after seeing how full it was and didn't want to the staff to have to deal with yet another person piling it on top read more

My wife and I love this theater. We took our niece to the movies, when we were delivered our food. We mentioned that her chair didn't work. They checked it out, were unable to get it to work, we couldn't move, they gave us free tickets and our money back..I sing their praise to everybody. They put the service in customer service. First time at this image, very nice entry & bar area. Went into theater #8 EMAX, nice, big & clean. One of our three seats were inop. Called over employee, he hit side panel and seat worked for 10 seconds and stopped working again. Saw this repeated by three other people in the theater. My son smacked panel and seat started working again. Movie ends and my wife's seat will not retract, had to crawl over seat to get out. Not a good experience. read more

I really hate that I did not ask the young sir that assisted me last Saturday because I received such excellent service from him! I have a knee injury and it was really bothering me to the point that I was having a hard time walking. I thought it would be nice to be able to sit and ice my leg while I watch the movie so I asked the attendant if he had a plastic bag that I could have and I explained that I wanted to put ice in it to ice my knee. He went above and beyond my expectations by bringing me three zip lock bags full of ice! What fantastic customer service! read more

This theater is amazing! Beyond comfortable! You pick your seat on a touch screan when you buy your tickets, which I love! It is so amazing that I figured it was going to be way more expensive than all the other movie theaters, but surprisingly it was not. I cannot wait to go back.
