My landlord hired EM Electric. I requested a motion light be installed on my patio. Where I enter was super dark. Erik came out and took a look, told me his plan for the best location (turned out perfect), also recommended a garage light sensor to add for small additional charge, I guess was easy to install as he had to do most the work for the patio (drilling hole from garage outlet) so thought to offer this addition. Extra awesome since my complex we don't have automatic openers and I had to fish for the overhead light in the dark. He was clean, courteous, and professional (even moved my stuff in the garage to do the job, then put back after he was done)! I can't say enough nice things about him! I would like to give a HUGE shout out to Eric and EM Electrical. I have a light timer in my garage that went bad some time ago and I am just getting around to fixing it, I did a little research and found that the timer cost less than $100.00, so I had a starting point. I knew any additional costs would be for labor. I first asked for some bids on yelp and most of the responses indicated it would be a minimum charge of 1 hour. Everyone had their own labor rates, so the price varied. I also called Powell Electric, who promptly sent out a technician to check the job, He explained that it was a fairly simple job, Access was easy, the wiring was fine and all that was needed to was to change out the timer. When I asked for a price he called his office, The office quoted $450.00. I was shocked and surprised. The technician could not provide a breakdown of costs, and would not provide a labor rate. He just stated that was the cost. To be fair to the technician, he agreed it was a ridiculous price, and refused to charge me the $75.00 inspection fee, which I greatly appreciated. After he left I contacted Eric and explained the job, He provided a written bid to do the job for $200.00.. The bid included a breakdown for parts and labor. We agreed to have the repairs done the following day. Eric was on time to do the job, Very professional. Once I authorized it, he began the work and was finished well within an hour. As we started to finalize payment, Eric told me that the timer I had in the garage was an exterior timer, which I didn't need. He installed an interior timer and the price dropped by $25.00 to a total of $175.00 I was thoroughly impressed with Eric. I will call him again if I need to have electrical work done. Back in early December 2016 when we had high winds in the area, we lost power to half our house. It was a Friday afternoon and we called several electricians who were either non-responsive or too busy and would not be able to come out until Monday. We called Eric who was currently working on a job but he promised to come out Saturday morning. He also advised us to call the electric company because it sounded like our problem was with the weatherhead which is the electric company's responsibility.
