Came here to meet a friend before a Mariners game. Of course, the entire place was packed but was starting to empty out as it was almost game time. We were seated within 5 minutes and our waitress was attentive throughout the time we were there. Ordered a few of their beers (pretty tasty) and had some grub. I got the steak sandwich and fries which came prepared as ordered (rare) but was extremely chewy so I was forced to remove it from the bun and cut it into small bites. Overall a fun place to hang out before the game and I definitely like their beers, but prefer the food at Pyramid Brewery down the street. read more

Bad leadership. Arrived 10 minutes before opening and waiting in line with 50 or so other Mariners fans before a Sunday afternoon game. At 11 an employee shares that they will not be able to open on time but it should be 11:15. There were 15 employees inside standing around, ready to serve guests. Employee came back out at 11:20 and said they would open at 11:30. This Sunday was also the season opener of football. Elysian was doing a game day menu of 4 items. No reason to not open on time or at least serve drinks only. Elysian must do better, they lost tons of business and will continue to under this poor leadership. read more

My wife and I were in Seattle on vacation and I love brewpubs. This one is near the football stadium, but we decided to go to Pyramid the first time down there. We first visited the flight museum down the street on the bus, (It was awesome!) and then we were going to come back to tour the football stadium. To our chagrin, Mexico was playing Ecuador in a soccer game, so we headed straight over to the Elysian Fields. You enter and there is an awesome fish tank. Very pretty. The restaurant is huge, so we got seated by the window. Nice spot. I ordered an IPA (They have 5 on tap, amazing) and I ordered the Steel-head Po' Boy. Now usually I love Po' Boys (How can you not, always great bread and usually fried seafood, but I have been watching my calories lately, and I noticed the steel head was grilled. Awesome!) I ordered 2 IPAs there and they were both amazing, both hoppy and flavorful with terrific mouth feel. The steel head Po' Boy was sooooo fantastic, they had a tangy type sauce on it and the bread was chewy and perfect. I really loved it. My wife had a great meal and of course loved the bread as well. I had the quesadillas with balsamic (tasty), the soup du jour (je pense? je ne sais pas) and something else I forget. Service was rather slow but pleasant went it came around. The gal gave me suggestions for beer. Late at night, I'd take it to just to pull up a bar stool, park me ass there, watch some sports up top and Eat & Drink. I love this bar for pregame beers and hangout sessions. The spread out space of the bar handles the crazy Hawks crowd and is awesome before and after the games. We came here to watch a Seahawks game and it was a very lively experience, to say the least. The staff working here were really awesome. They came around and consistently filled our waters even though they were swarmed with people. Also, they were also very good about taking our orders. The bathrooms started out very clean but gradually over the evening became smelly and disgusting (though not their fault since there were so many people coming in and out). The location is really good since it is right next to the stadium but good luck finding parking. It is either very rare to find a parking space or very expensive. The drinks were not too good. In terms of ordering a cider, they didn't have very much variety. They only had more sour apple ciders rather than sweet. The bar in itself isn't that great of a place to watch the game. This is mostly because there aren't that many tv.s I could hardly hear the sound. Again, I know that there are a lot of people talking/screaming during the game but it was definitely harder to hear the game/commercials as oppose to the other bars I've been to in Seattle. Also, because of the way the restaurant is designed, they have a lot of booths, so there are many padded seats faced opposite of the big screen tv. You gotta really stretch your head like a turtle to watch the game. If they had more tables with chairs, then, they could maximize their space where customers could turn their seats around to face the big screen. Elysian Fields is a great spot to go to if you want decent food for less than stadium prices before a game. The wait was surprisingly quick 1 hour before the game. The beers here leave a lot to be desired. I've never been a big Elysian fan, they all have kind of the same hoppy, hard to swallow taste. I had an ESB and the Superfuzz. They don't offer pitchers on game day, however. The beers here are $6 which is way less than inside the stadium, so that's how i managed to drink my least favorite beer. The food here was definitely not what I was expecting. I was thinking it was going to be your typical bar food. It wasn't! There were a lot of pasta dishes and salads. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was really good, there was just too much bun to eat. It also came with a house salad which was really good with balsamic salad dressing and blue cheese. The service was also good. We got our food quickly and had plenty of time to spare for getting into the stadium. I'm sure since it was game day they know people want to get in and out quicker. Elysian's has prime location for sporting events, but so does every other bar/restaurant on the same street. My friends and I decided to come here before a Sounders' game and though we had a good time and service was great, I'm not in a rush to be back. The menu isn't very extensive, which would be fine if the food they did offer was good, but it was mediocre at best...and for the price, probably not worth it. They do, however, offer a nice selection of beers. The bar gets really crowded closer to game time, so if you're planning on coming and prefer to sit, I'd recommend that you come early. Big kudos to our server, who never looked flustered and didn't let the overwhelming crowd in the bar affect her service. If I'm in the area, I'd rather grab a hotdog from a vendor and some beers at the beer garden. read more

We stopped in here both before and after the Seahawks destroyed the Cardinals at Century Link field. The place was packed before the game, but we were still able to get a beer relatively fast. There were hundreds of people, most of whom were standing. The location is awesome for people going to games. If you're coming from First Avenue, you can pop in, have a beer, and then go out the back entrance and the field is right there! Elysion beer is awesome and the prices are good compared to the stadium. After the game, we loitered at the stadium for about a half hour then headed in to Elysion fields. We were able to get a table about about a 20 minute wait. Not too bad. I ordered a burger and my wife ordered a pasta dish. My burger was good. It was the right temperature and had good flavor. My wife's pasta dish was also very good. The service was also good. Overall this is a great stop for a good beer before or after a game and also a good choice for lunch or dinner! read more

Had a blast here. Sat on the side of the bar with no TV..heard all the screaming as the Mariners were making a comeback. Ordered their 1/2 lb Waygu beef burger med. and it came with fries that were almost the same kind they server at Burger King. The burger patty was tender but that Waygu beef is supposed to be fatty and tender. It lived up to that expectation however it was the beer that was outstanding. They make their own and they have several kinds. You are allowed to taste test before you buy. I broke down and ordered the beer with a coffee and pumpkin essence..called the Punkaccino or something to that effect. Funny servers. It was a busy Mariner game night so the place was packed and the bartenders were busy. Pretty decent service at the bar. Let's get to the point. This place is good probably more reasonable to come in on a non-game day due to its location. The place is clean and immaculate in my opinion as it can be. Now the concept of the cocktails did not work for me. I have tried 3 different cocktails and I only 1 was executed right. It was either too sweet or too strong. I would recommend the ginger Bellini. Obviously that being said, the cocktails were overpriced for the execution of the drinks. I would just get water or a beer if I ever come back to this establishment. The food is spot on, I asked for specific cooking temps and they delivered. The service was good to great. And the ambiance of the restaurant was nice calm. The music wasn't too loud. A nice place to actually just "chill". The only thing that concerns me is that we got the food and the drinks and it took us a few minutes to get our silverware which would mainly affect the food's temp. And on our way out, two of the employees were facing the back and flirting with each other. So those were the only missed points on this place. Located right outside of the Century Link stadium, it's very easy to stop in for a late lunch and a drink after spending the morning at the RV show. We were seated right away by a friendly staff, food came really fast, but I'm sure if it was a game day it would be a different story. We had the Stardust beer, and Brisket sandwhiches, the bbq sauce made in house with an Elysian beer-both were excellent. The fries came with a house balsamic rasberry ketchup, we actually asked our server about it because it was so good. Wow is this place good. I went here with some co-workers as we were winding down from the busy day we had at work. All I can say is what a pleasant surprise. To say I was impressed is putting it mildly. Great food. Great service. Great value for your money. I ordered the steamed mussels from the happy hour menu and it was so much I got too full to eat my wonderful steak I ordered. I ended up sharing the steak with my co-workers. And oh, so many french fries with my steak...I had a great time. My only complaint is I ordered my steak medium and it was not. It was too done for medium. The food has improved a lot. Still not bar food. Still not affordable. But they have made great strides in the right direction. Eat before you come here. The service and beer is 2nd to none. Honestly the best in the city. Recently they changed chef to someone who seems to have never been to a sports bar. SARCASTICALLY: This place would be excellent if you wanted sports bar food like $17 Korean Street Tacos or the infamous Warm Trout Salad. If you're lucky you can get one strip of bacon cut in half for $5 bucks. The chef is obviously on some kind of trip, trying to make a statement. My whole office used to go to lunch here now it's a graveyard. Please give us some cheap and simple food. You can be upscale without the $16 dollar burger w zucchini relish... wtf. Again. We've been drinking Elysian for a while now back home. So when in Seattle it's pretty obvious that we would have to check this place out. We came to this area to go to the Mariner game and wanted to eat and drink here before the game. Turned out to be a great idea as they have plenty of great beer and great food. My family and I were in Seattle for a short vacation, and I was looking for a spot close to Safeco Field and The Link for some pregame food and drinks. Elysian Fields was the perfect location, seated right across the street from both stadiums. My initial impression was not great. The restaurant was not all that busy, but the service was SLLOOOWWWW. We probably sat at our table for 10-15 minutes before anyone stopped by to ask if we wanted to order some drinks. Once we got things moving, the service improved greatly. The food was very good, we ordered pretzels, burgers, soup, and some chicken strips and all were very tasty. The beer selection was excellent. Elysian had a nice variety of IPA's, Pale Ales, and several other selections for a variety of beer preferences. My wife ordered martinis, which she said were outstanding as well. We tried several bar/breweries in the area during out time in downtown Seattle, and ended up at Elysian twice. Had the service been a tad quicker I would've given 5 stars. If we ever get back to Seattle for a Mariners/Sounders/Seahawks game, I'll be sure to stop back by Elysian Fields for my pregame activities. read more

Dropped in for lunch before the Sounders FC game against Colorado (a nice win by the way)--we were a couple hours before kickoff so there was no trouble getting a great table. Service was superb--possibly because of the specific waitress, but the food was delivered quickly, and just out of the kitchen. I had a Sockeye sandwich and my wife had the Mushroom Panini--both about $10, and perfect for us. Salmon was cooked perfectly, everything else was fresh and tasty--the pork & bean soup was a nice plus. A generous pour of Justin Chardonnay for another $10 rounded out the meal. The room filled up as we ate, and the crowd was watching the start of Brazil vs. US cup match in the bar. I rated a 3-star, but for our purposes--a simple lunch, served quickly before the match--it was perfect. read more

I hate writing a 3 star review for an Elysian location because I love Elysian beer but I've had a few issues with this location (Elysian Fields). First off, all happy hour prices for food are very cheap but in return you get no food so it about equates to the same as just ordering the full thing. Most happy hours I go to give you more for less than the usual price which makes sense. Furthermore, it was 5:55 when we ordered our final beer which should've been charged at happy hour price. Our tab even takes note of it. But nope, charged regular price. That's pretty stingy, especially for a great brewery like Elysian. I understand happy hour is discounted and limited, but at least follow through on it if you're going to offer it. I would've tipped more if I felt I was being charged what I deserved. read more

Not vegan friendly. This place has gone down hill significantly since their remodel. The overall menu has been down-sized substantially and the only vegan option advertised is a modification of a "vegetarian" dish that was served with Caesar dressing when ordered vegan. I used to look forward to going here for their Oasis plate, a hearty serving of hummus and baba ganoush with flatbread and tomatoes, but it was removed from the menu. Served in its place is a crusted flatbread soaked in oil from a thick coat of pesto with the aforementioned salad. Disappointing. Avoid at all costs. read more

Great beer! Great space! I have ate here twice. Once the Canitas Tacos and once the steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend that! The Canitas Tacos (pictured) is the only thing that dropped the rating from a 5 to a 4. Taste wise... Really good. But the tortillas were hard. Idk what they did to make them that way but it was not necessary. Lol Still overall enjoyed them tho! read more

Hate to say it. Went here in plenty of time to be seated before a Sounders match, but got zero customer service. We were told we had a 10-15 minute wait when we arrived and put our name on the waiting list, only to wait for over an hour without being seated. On our way out the door, we inquired as to our wait time only to be told we "had cancelled our table request". B f'n S. We were a party of 2, and apparently not lucrative enough for them on game day, so they blew us off. We won't be giving them our business in the future and it's just as well, the People's Burger food truck ruled and it was a helluva lot cheaper. Two stars for the beer and TV's, but that's all I can give. Not feeling terribly charitable given our wholly disrespectful treatment. Shame on you, Elysian Brewery. read more

Went here after a Sounders game. They are in the middle of a huge remodel while continuing to operate, so I'm guessing a future visit would be somewhat different. From what I can see, they have significantly opened up the space with a heavy focus on a large central bar now. I had the IPA to drink, which is a consistently solid offering. They have a full bar selection as well for the non-beer crowd. We shared a few orders of the brussel sprouts appetizer, which was a group consensus hit. Elysian Fields is in a good location if you're in town to catch a pre-game or post-game drink. I'm not usually that far down in Pioneer Square but each time I've been here or walked by - it always looked like people were enjoying themselves inside. The first time I came was actually for a work event. This location is perfect for large groups. The food was good and of course the beer was good. I also liked the decor and general feel for the place. I recall liking their bathrooms too. Nothing to complain about but nothing that knocked me off my feet. read more

I have to say I am apprehensive to every go back here, based on the service alone. I have been here a few times, and each time the staff has been slow with orders and rude to our table. But this last time I went with a group, even before we sat down, the hostess at the front almost made want to walk out the door. We asked for a table outside for eight; she said "absolutely not" then when we asked if we could do eight inside she was still rude and said "no we don't do that." (Given the restaurant was relatively empty at this point. ) So when we did go to sit our party down she let us know "we better not be adding and more people to the table." Wow, I was blown away. I understand if you cannot accommodate that many people, but please try and be a little more courteous. The when one member of our party came late and tried to join she about ripped him a new one. We told him we were sorry, but he was more taken about by how threatening she was for adding someone to the table. This made the whole experience uncomfortable for everyone. The sad thing is this isn't the first instance of bad service I have experienced here o heard from others. read more

Don't waste your time. If I could rate them a ZERO I would and it would be way too complimentary. From the managerial staff who believe that the customer deserves no respect or dignity to the seating process that allows this eatery to operate at 75% capacity on an event day while eager customers sit for over an hour with no update to waiting for over an hour for what amounted to cold and uninspiring food. I have never experienced a worse environment in a public service establishment, run by a manager whose bland, uncooperative, holier than thou style had customers walking out by the droves. Please note that the wait and bus staff cheerfully confirmed that all of the above is and continues to be a systemic issue at this establishment. Very glad there are other fine eateries in the area because this one will never see a dime from us again. read more

I find Elyisian Fields to be meh. It's one of the options close to the stadiums. The wait times are ridiculous and the food is overpriced and mediocre. I ordered the vegetable soup. It tasted like it was canned soup and the broth was an unappetizing texture. I also ordered the artichoke dip which was okay but the main flavor was salt and also tasted pre-made. Not worth the price. Others seemed to enjoy their food (steak sandwich, pasta) so maybe I just ordered two of the wrong things. They do have great beer though! read more

I HATE paying for parking. So much so that I will get to the Sounders Matches 2 1/2 hours before kick off to ensure we can find free parking, that has easy access to I-90, because in addition to being cheap, I hate being stuck in traffic. What does this little gem of a story have to do with Elysian Fields? Well, instead of paying $10 for parking, I'd rather spend $25 on beers at Elysian. Yah, I don't understand the logic either. But, there is beer! I love beer! Elysian has a good selection of interesting beers available. While I have yet to find an Elysian beer I love, I have also yet to find a beer that I hate. Which obviously counts for something... what, I don't know. In addition to good beer, they also have fries that fall into the "crack" category. I don't order food here though cuz it's overpriced, and underwhelming. Just stick to the beer and fries, and you'll be fine. On game days, this place is super crowded, obviously. If you aren't a fan of crowds, and expect fast, prompt service, this place probably isn't for you. They're busy. Deal with it. If you show up more than 2 hours before game time though, you can usually grab a seat at the bar, or a table of some sort. I wouldn't come here to hang out on a regular basis, but this is a good spot before Sounders games. read more

I've been here a few times before. Brought it large parties and game day groups and never had a problem. Spent a ton of money here. HOWEVER! I came in last night with a large group of friends, ordered a couple beers and had a good time. At the end of the night, everyone got their tabs. Mine came to $80 for three beers. When I questioned it, the waitress said "No. Its eighty dollars and you're going to give me your card and pay it." Which was a little off-putting to say the least. I asked my friends if they all got their correct bills, which they said they did. My friends told me to just pay it worry about it later, so I did. I tried to ask the waitress again why it came to $80 for three beers and she yelled (seriously) "You came in here acting like a big baller saying you were going to pay for everyone's drinks tonight. Well, pay up!" Weird. As a man on a tight budget, I'm not too given to "balling." I paid up and did not leave a tip (obviously). Everyone else paid their tabs as well. We were escorted out like convicts to which I tipped them a promise that I'd destroy them on Yelp. (= That may or may not have caused a security guard to dare me to hit him, which was really hard not to oblige to. Oh well. Bottom line, don't risk your wallet with this place. If you crave Night Owl, head to the Elysian on the hill. This place is kinda sketchy unless you're really careful to stay sober-ish and use cash. And I'll remember their strange scammy tab-inflation tactics as I'm eating Top Ramen for dinner every night this week because of that tab. read more

Went here after the last Seahawks game and since the Seahawks lost in OT I was in a bit of a depressed mood. Elysian was cool though, nice place to walk to after the game since it's right beside the north entrance to Qwest Field. The margaritas were stiff and boy did we need them after an OT loss and there were plenty of seats available for people to sit in. I didn't experience the food so can't comment on the quality of it. Don't expect to get an intimate feeling from this bar though, it's massive so you may find yourself getting lost in the crowd and having trouble getting around the place at busier times. There are plenty of TV's on the wall and I know some friends that watched the Seahawks game from here, so if you don't have a ticket to the game but want to watch it close to the stadium this might be one of the better options. read more

They flunked ALL King County Health Dept inspections in 2012, and have not had a "satisfactory" rating from the Health Dept since May, 2011. [To be clear, they earned an "Unsatisfactory" rating for all inspections in 2012. The only thing worse would have been if it had been so bad as to have closed the restaurant immediately.] In this case, vote with your feet and go to a better quality establishment. Love their beer, but fear their food!!!!! At least I'm confident that alcohol will kill the stuff that otherwise resides in their product.
