***NO OUTSIDE FINANCING!!!***They are disrespectful and have terrible communication. You go through negotiations for the price and confirm everything looks good. I put $1000 down (non-refundable) to have the car get held for me until the end of the month. At the last minute they say they don't allow outside financing, so basically they want more money doing it their way cause the me (the consumer) to pay more in interest. I find this out and now they say they are going to put the car back on the market when it's only been 1 week. So just because I said I was doing outside financing they threw what they originally told me out the window and we're gonna keep my $1000 without holding it for the time frame they said they would. My husband bought a 2026 Tuscon a few weeks ago. We drove all the way from Sandusky. Of course the sales guy Dean was so accommodating during the sale. It was late and even said we could come back next day to get car so they had time to get it ready. He insisted it wouldn't take long. It could be done while my husband was financing. About a week later my husband noticed a long box in the hatch. It contains the rails for the top of the car. They were not installed before putting it on lot. I called and talked to sales manager. He acted as if he was upset this happened. Even said he would get gas tank filled since we had to drive back to Elyria. I brought it back today 7/7/26. Total cluster f*** back in service. What was supposed to take 10 min took 40. When I went to leave and got in car it was running with drivers window down and fob in the cup holder. He also parked in a handicapped space. I left and suddenly remembered that the tank needed filled. So I went back to the sales area and asked to speak to Adam. A girl went back but Adam never came. Rather Dean Z. approached me. I was like I asked for Adam he was like can I have your fob so someone from service can get the tank filled. Wasted 2 days trying to get a recall warranty replacement on a clock spring/air bag. Looked up the recall online, input my VIN and it said I WAS covered. Made an appointment online 5 days in advance. Then called to check how long it would take, whether I should wait or get dropped off. They told me might take a few hours. Showed up for appt. 9 AM on sat. Told me Id need to leave the car for 3 days or could reschedule for monday (because they only do oil changes and tire rotations on Sat.) Come back Monday, leave the car. Wally, a sales manager, was extremely rude, disrespectful and aggressive. I was made to feel that he did not respect me, or any woman for that matter. Unfortunately, the vehicle I made an appointment to see was not cleaned properly. On the liftgate frame were numerous, were, no longer living, moth cocoons. He kept insisting that they were not insects because they were soft and nothing was inside of them. First, he said it could be wax. I questioned that, he immediately became defensive that I questioned his reasoning, how could wax pieces be the same equal size and shape. I also picked them off of the frame and the white cocoon left behind a white mark where it had attached to the metal. This debate continued for a short time. I informed Wally that I strongly disagreed with him that it was not a bug. I explained, while I saw it was not alive, it was some type of insect. He continued to aggressively disagree with me. Wally handled this situation in the most unacceptable manner that I have ever encountered. I am completely astounded that he is in customer service. His presence lowers the value of the dealerships customer relations and he needs to respect women. Another sales manager, Adam Dejean, followed up with me regarding my experience at the dealership. The last week in May I went to Elyria Hyundai to possibly purchase a New Santa Fe Hy-bred. I was met at the door by a extremely Nice young lady. I explained that I was there to see Rick . She explained that he was with another customer and would be with me shortly. She offered me something to drink while I waited. In a short time Rick came to help me out. The car I saw on their web site was to be delivered that day. After Rick physically checked for the car it had just been delivered. Rick brought it around for me to view at. Then Rick and I started to negotiate a deal. I was very pleased and felt like we came to a very fair deal. They went to view my trade in and was given a fair trade in price. Then came Jaclyn from finance. She went over all the paperwork we me and explained a deal on the interest for the loan. "0" % Wow. Another nice benefit. She was very nice about answering my questions. She left nothing out. She was fantastic to work with. This usually if the worst part of buying a car. Not this time. She worker very hard to make sure that I got the best deal. Very thankful. The car was detailed and washed for me because it was just had been delivered. This is the second Santa Fe Hy-bred that I have bought there. Grant dealt with me on the last one but had a day off this day. Same excellent service from him. We came to Elyria Hyundai to test drive a vehicle, a 2017 Hyundai Tucson on Friday December 27, 2024. When we test drove the vehicle the blindspot monitors in the sideview mirrors were both working. When we were looking at the vehicle, the salesman Grant told us that there was something wrong with the bumper but it wasn't listed on the carfax. We came back on Saturday, December 28, 2024 to purchase the vehicle. When we left and were driving home, the blindspot monitor light in the drivers side mirror was not functioning. I texted our salesperson and he stated that he needed to speak with the used car mgr. My husband and daughter took the car back Monday morning (Dec 30, 2024). The svc advisor said that the mirror glass needed to be replaced. They ordered the part and told my daughter they would call when it came in. They set an appt for Thursday, January 2, 2025. They changed the mirror, at their cost but it didn't fix the problem. The svc advisor told my daughter that they were running an electrical diagnostic. They are now saying that both blindspot sensors need to be replaced at a cost of $3700.00! They said we need to pay out of pocket! When we test drove the car they were both working, when we drove it home the drivers side was not working! Now, those sensors are located in the rear bumper, the salesman told us that something was wrong with the rear bumper but never told us what it was. This makes us believe that they knew something was wrong and hid it from us. We want them to fix the blindspot problem at their cost. We did nothing wrong, we notified them immediately. When we picked up the vehicle we trusted that it was in the same condition as when we test drove it the day before. read more

We have been working with this dealership for the better part over two years with issues related to our 2021 Hyundai Kona. At first, the dealership was very quick to service us even taking into account we bought this car at a different dealership. We had extensive issues with various noises coming from the front of the car from pinging, knocking, etc. The car was brought in 7 times in the two years to resolve the issue. The dealership had a tough time figuring out the issue, sometimes telling us it was the backing plate, and other times saying it was something else. With my most recent experience, I can say that they did perform a comprehensive diagnostic. However, our service advisor was also trying to sell new tires, brakes, alignment. I am not fully disputing that some of these items are needed on our car, but I explained that I wanted to test drive the car for a few hundred miles to ensure the other issues were resolved. Yesterday, my wife found another issue with the accelerator and upon coming back to the dealer, the service adivsor refused to look at the car since I refused the additional services. We shared that we feel we have a a safety issue concern and we were immediately dismissed. I even requested to speak with the Service Manager, but no return calls. I also have a complaint into corporate Hyundai for all the various issues and can't get support there. Needless to say I will not be going back to this dealership as the advisor was really rude at the end. My brand loyality is also shot with Hyundai and will not be buying a Hyundai ever again. read more

They delivered our car after they claimed it was detailed. While going through it I saw dog hair all over the back. The lady who delivered it said she noticed that and I could bring it over anytime and they'll take care of it. My purchase experience was decent. A couple of minor hiccups, but I LOVE their service department! My Tucson broke down on me, still under warranty, but my roadside assistance wouldnt pay to take it back to Elyria and I had to take it to a another place. The other place was TERRIBLE. For a larger dealer, they were rude and reluctant to help with my warranty repair. Eventually they did and after a day of having my car back, it had a horrible noise in the engine. I called Elyria and, even though it should have gone back to the other place, I told Elyria I wanted them to do it. They worked it out, had it a LONG time (but I always had a loaner). Got my car back and it has been problem free. The ladies in the service department were always friendly and treated me as if we had been friends for years. I went to this Hyundai dealership instead of one closer to my house because my mother has bought couple cars from them and highly recommended them to me. I went there to test drive a Hyundai Kona and loved it. When my salesperson Greg Vanik went to get "my deal" it was laughable. After much back and forth which consisted of him getting up and leaving and coming back with a lower payment price, we finally agreed. I gave them a down payment and went back with my husband two days later.We waited for awhile and then was called back to sign the papers with the finance manager. She proudly told us that she called in some favors and we were able to get the extended warranty and bridge loan warranty for no cost, our payment didn't go up. It was late, we were tired and since the payment was the same, we signed the papers. This is my error, they lowered the price of the car so she could add those things (which she receives commission for) and extended my payment for 6 more months. I really felt like they scammed us the way it was done. Again I should have really looked through every single line on the papers, but it was not what we were told. I would have much rather had the lower payment on the car, not the added stuff. So buyers beware, read everything VERY carefully. One of the reasons I bought this car is that we do not have a garage so I really wanted the Hyundai app that includes the remote start. I drove a couple of Hyundai models and decided on the Kona SE. Greg assured me this included Blue Link app with remote start. On the way home from the dealership I remembered Greg never gave me the information on the app and called him at the dealership. He said he would get it set up and email me the information. Greg told me he needed to get more information but I most definitely should be able to log into Blue Link, he said he would get back to me. This went on for three days with him assuring me he just needed to figure it out before I went online and discovered this model did not offer Blue Link technology. When I texted him this information, Chris went radio silent. A few hours later, Chis Yahas, the sales manager called me to tell me they could not find a Kona SEL anywhere around for me to exchange my SE for and because of the misinformation, would install remote start in the Kona I bought. I agreed and that solved this issue. Now is the next huge issue; when I purchased the car they said they would transfer the plates from the Subaru I traded in to the Kona. Yesterday, I received my mail-in plate registration in the mail and it was still for the Subaru. I called the dealership and left a message for the title clerk. When I did not receive a call back, I called again in the afternoon. She answered this time and told me she pulled my file and it showed the plates were not able to be transferred because the Subaru was in my name only, the Kona in both my name and my husbands. She said that she ordered the plates as a courtesy to me and I could pick the plates up today at the dealership with a cost. I asked why no one ever contacted me, I have driving around with illegal plates since 3/19/19! She said the file was noted they left a voice mail message sometime in April. I was absolutely furious, thank goodness I haven't been pulled over during this time. The clerk did not seem at concerned about all this as I explained they really dropped the ball on this. I called and left a message for the General Manager yesterday at 4:00pm, he never called me back. This morning I called the dealership again and was told the General Manager was off today. I asked for whoever was in charge and they connected me to Chris Yuhas and explained what was happening. It was apparent that he did not really care, he kept telling me he didn't know anything about that department, at least I was getting me plates, I needed to call back and talk to the general manager .I was left feeling even more aggravated after that phone call. A short while later, Chris Yuhas called me back and somewhat redeemed himself. He said after we hung up, he did look into it and told me that my salesperson, Greg, was to blame. He should have asked me for the Subaru's registration which would have shown if we could transfer the plates or not. He didn't do that. Then once the file clerk realized the plates could not be transferred, he was told to contact me to come into the dealership to sign for a temporary tag. He never contacted me. After the time for a temporary tag had passed, he was told to contact me about the plates they could order them for me. HE never once called me, in almost two months. The plates are at the dealership and I could go pick them up and they wouldn't charge me for the plates. The fact that no one else ever contacted me and knew I was driving around with illegal plates is ridiculous to me. I highly suggest if you do go to this dealership, you do not use Greg as your salesman!!!!! read more

STAY AWAY!!! THEY WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU ANY WAY THEY CAN!! My fiancée leased her car from here. We are looking to trade it in. On our first visit we told them our budget and that we would like something used to finance. They came back with lease pricing and a purchase price on a new car for 3x our budget. I asked SIX times what the interest rebate was and they wouldn't tell me. The price of the new SUV was almost identical to my used BMW. The payment was 2.5x my payment!!! TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. The sales rep tried to build rapport saying she was the managers sister- then tried to take advantage of my financee. I've been in sales my whole life- once I started talking and asking questions her paperwork immediately went into hiding in her desk. Mind you we both have 700+ credit scores! I'm not sure if she thought she could make her commission for the month on one sale, but she's lucky my mother raised me the way she did or I would have made a scene. Now we are trying to schedule an appointment for an estimate on the vehicle we are turning in and want to buy a car to replace it- we are almost over our miles. 5 calls, 4 of which we were given wrong info about AIMS and what the damage allowance is and how it works, later and we still didn't have answers or an appointment scheduled! ONE CALL to Crestmont and we have our appt scheduled for Tuesday. We will NEVER speak to anyone from this scam job dealership again. We will NEVER set foot on their property. The BBB will be my next visit and the AG office will be getting a letter from me and I will be calling Hyundai corporate to inform them of how their dealer is treating customers. They have wonderful people working for them however: Like last time (several years ago), this time I haven't even set foot in the dealership or seen a car on their lot and they pulled a hard credit report on me WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! I'm in conversation with several other local car dealerships in the Cleveland area (VW, Chevy, Toyota, Ford, Nissan, Honda) and Carvana, and NONE of them pulled my report. ALL of them told me to come in and look at their inventory to see what sticker price works in my budget and THEN I can sit down with a salesperson and talk about financing, interest rates, monthly payments, etc. One time I can understand and they agreed to reverse the "hard credit" pull. However because it's happened AGAIN, I have lost trust in ELYRIA HYUNDAI and choose not to work with them. This is unacceptable. read more

Horrible Dealership!!!!! Do not buy any extra Maintainance packages, they do not honor them and they magically disappear in the computer system. I bought my Sonata a year and half ago and it included 10 free oil changes, they honored the first 3 or 4 but now say they have new ownership and can't locate my paperwork and have to charge me because I lost my Maintainance card or something. ZERO STARS! The customer service was atrocious! While buying a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from them, they made every step difficult. We live 2 and a half hours away and we're in constant communication with them regarding the vehicle we wanted. They could not provide our financial institution with the appropriate paperwork, which delayed our transaction. When we finally were able to drive down to see and finalize everything the car was poorly detailed, bugs were still splattered along the front of the hood, there were additional dents and chips that were never discussed or addressed in addition to the 1,100 additional miles placed on the car that were not advertised. The salesman was rude, and discourteous. Every talking point that was not "let's sign" was met with outward frustration by them-literal huffing/puffing, throwing papers around and down, and eye rolls. The paperwork was not in order even though he had days to prepare all of it. The financial department was even left out and frustrated with the sales staff. Avoid this place at all costs in terms of service. They try to sell services and scare you to get things done that are not needed. In 2017 my alternator was dying and this dealer was the closest and quickest available fix. They did it for more than what a local mechanic would but it was fixed. They then tried to tell me my battery was completely dead and needed to be replaced otherwise I would need to jump it every time I wanted to start my car. I knew this was a lie because I purchased the battery not too long before this. Nevertheless I went a year and a half without having to jump it. Last month I took it in for an oil change. I had an oil leak that they said was the worst the mechanic has ever seen and they quoted me $1400 to fix with the recommendation of another $200 to replace the timing chain while that was getting repaired. I declined and took it to my mechanic and got the leak fixed for $900 and he said it wasn't that bad just a time consuming to fix. My mechanic laughed when they suggested to do the timing chain as it didn't need to be replaced and should only be replaced if it completely fails which then the engine won't run but it was running perfectly with no noise. I took the car in today to get appraised to sell and claimed because I declined "2 grand" in repairs at their shop the last time I was there they wouldn't buy it even though everything was fixed by my mechanic and is running perfectly. I have yet to hear from the service manager about the recent situation but doubt I will from reading other reviews. It's also hard to trust a company that has to have their employees write 5 star reviews on google just to offset the negative reviews by real customers. I would expect their sales department to be just as shady. I just bought a 2018 Genesis and won't even consider having them touch it even if it is the closest dealership to me. Be very careful if you go there and I would suggest finding a good local mechanic that does everything cheaper or even try another dealer for service. read more

Do not purchase a vehicle from this establishment!! Their customer service leaves much to be desired and they are very dishonest and unethical. I purchased a jeep wrangle from here and there were multiple problems the popped up in under 12hrs of me purchasing it. The most disturbing was the fact that they painted the tires to hide the dry rot. Dry rot tires is a potentially fatal situation making the vehicle not even safe to drive. This act was a violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act. The only reason this was even noticed is because they got paint on one of the front rims, had they not been so careless with painting the tires it would have gone unnoticed. There were 2 other minor issues with the vehicle. One was definitely covered by the warranty (Coolant thermostat needed replaced), the other was lose tie rods (I'm not sure if that was covered by the warranty or not). As if the physical issues where not enough the miss represented my APR on my loan. The APR (4.64%) I was told by the loan officer was nowhere on my loan contract (4.54% and 4.99% were). When I contacted the dealership to expressing my concerns the following day the sales associate did not return my text. Not only that I called and left a message with the sales manager who also did not return my call. Towards the close of business time I called the dealership again and ask for the sales manager, I inquired with the receptionist if he had left for the day. She informed me that he was indeed still there and asked if I wanted to be transferred. I relied yes and it went to his voicemail again. After not receiving any response from the sales associate and the sales manager I put a stop payment on the check for my down payment and sent a certified letter to the general manager. A week after the stop payment I was contacted by the general manager. He's response was either bring us a check or bring it back. He made no attempt to even rectify the matter. I was going to return the vehicle but there were SEVERAL falsities that the dealer had told me. They told me that the contract was void because I put the stop payment on the check. The bank that the loan was through told me it was indeed a valid contract and I still owed the money for the vehicle and the down payment check was between me and the dealership. The bank also told me that it would take up to 30 days to remove the loan from my credit and would not be approved for another auto loan until it fell off my credit. The day I was scheduled to bring back the vehicle the general manager was not there and left it in the hands of the sales manager that did not return my call. The sales manager could not tell me anything about the return. I clearly stated I would not return the vehicle if it was coming back to the dealership as a voluntary repossession. I was not going to damage my credit to return the vehicle. The sales manager state that he didn't know anything about it except that it was to come back that day and then proceeded to ask me if there was something I needed to sign!!! I flat out told him that I would not return the vehicle without some kind of documentation that I was no longer responsible for the loan. When I asked him about what I was to do without a vehicle for 30days that it was "on me to figure that out" and " the sooner you bring it back the faster it will be off your credit" which was BS as the bank had already told me it was not true. I told the sales manager I had contacted an attorney and was meeting with him the following week regarding the matter and left. The general manager sent me a certified letter which I gave to my attorney, as he advised me to no longer contact the dealership directly and let him handle correspondence moving forward. He reached out to the dealership stating that the down payment be put in escrow and once the repairs were completed and the tires replaced the funds would be released to the dealership. They did not even respond to my attorney the repossessed the vehicle, and trespassed on my private property to do so, which is illegal in Ohio. read more

Went to look at a advertised SUV , nothing in the listing said it was cash only or that financing wasn't available. Car was never serviced , and was not in a condition to be sold. I was still going to purchase but then was told I couldn't use a credit card even though I had proper ID and My line of credit on the card was way more than purchase price. Horrible place. If you are going to buy a car, do the world a favor and go to any other dealership. I bought a used car from here and they left the tank on E, refused to rotate the tires, and were very rude. A month later, it turns out that something with my gas tank was rotted. They knew, considering they left it on E and the issue was primarily noticeable when it was full. My car was leaking gas everywhere, which is a huge safety hazard. You would think they would care enough to not want their customers to explode, but apparently they don't. When we asked about rotating the tires they flat out refused because they were "losing money on that car". It's almost like they were mad at us because THEY lowered the price and we bought it. They were not helpful one bit and never returned my phone call when I called about my title. Please go elsewhere! read more

They charged my credit card and the car was not there the next day or the following day. So, I called in and told them that I wanted my money back and was no longer interested in the car. Salesman told me that it was no problem and that they had shredded my credit card information. They never credited my card back. Several weeks later, I get an email from the salesman saying that my car was on the lot and when I called in and disputed, he said, "oh no, you bought the car off of us". "When you gave us the $500 dollar deposit, you paid for the car and that was your down payment". I couldn't believe it, I asked for the sales manager, and he was a complete jerk to me. He basically said, by me giving them my credit card number and the $500 deposit to go find the car, that I was agreeing to buy the car, which is not what I was told by the Internet Sales manger that I talked to on the phone the night I gave them my deposit. When I asked the Sales Manager to put the young lady on the phone who told me that if the car was not there on the lot, that my money would be refunded, he responded by saying, "she no longer works here". The sales manager is Joe and he is a jerk and argued with me for over 15 minutes and ended the call by saying, we held up our end of the deal and got the car here, and you backed out. He also said, "if you want your money back, come buy your car off our lot!!"I responded by saying, I was ready to drive up to your dealership to get my car and it still wasn't there. Two weeks later the car shows up and they call me and say that I paid for it. Needless to say, I called my credit card company and they happily credited my money back and couldn't believe that they did that. Moments after I got off the phone with my credit card company, I received a call from Vince, the original sales person, who says, you should not have asked to talk to the sales manager. We held up our end of the deal and I got you, the car you wanted. He then proceeded to say, that he was working on getting my money back to me. I couldn't believe it!!! Please do not give them your credit card #, go to the lot and see the car yourself before buying, and do your research on the extended warranty they offer. Do not buy from this dealership. Beware - my mother had problems with her car two weeks after purchasing a brand new sedan. Ever since, they've been disrespectful, rude and short. They won't even come to the phone anymore. Her problem still isn't fixed. They are the rudest set of individuals I've ever dealt with. You're treated like a customer while shopping and signing for your car... ...But the second she drove off the lot, they did a 180 and treat her like a nuisance. My advice if you want a Hyundai - get it from some other dealership. And here's hoping you don't have any problems with your car, becuase even Corporate can be dismissive. read more

Scheduled an oil change, factory recall, and software enhancement for 11am. They asked if I wanted to wait, said it would take around an hour or so. Decided to drop it off instead. It was on the lift when I left. Heard nothing until 2:30pm when they called to tell me the mechanic recommended a variety of services (each around $100), including a flush and fill recommended every 5 years or 60,000 miles! The car is 2 years old and has 30,000 miles on it!!! Declined the additional services and heard nothing more. Wife finally called at 4pm and asked them if their shuttle service could provide transport to pick up car since it was so late and ride was no longer available. They said they would contact driver and have hime contact us. Again, crickets!!! Still never heard ack from them on if the car was even ready. Finally found a ride at 5pm and went up there. All they had to say was blah, blah, blah, excuse, excuse, excuse!! Paid and left (after looking at my next car, an amazing Pallisade!). Will never return!!!!!!! Ganley might be a bit further, but they took less than an hour last time! It shouldn't suprise me that their service is as bad as their sales! Requested a quote from Medina, Ganley and Elyria Hyundai all at the same time on a Friday night. Medina and Ganley both called Saturday morning to set up appointments. I called the service department about a recall on my car. While the woman who took my call was helpful, during the call she yelled "NO! What are you, retarded?!" She apologized and clarified that the statement was not being directed at me. Regardless if she was talking to me, another custom or coworker I found this comment to be extremely inappropriate and offensive. read more
