I agree with the other reviewers on the other yelp page of this place (because there are two pages). The owner is not friendly (the man). Bigtime narcissist/passive agressive vibes. My experience here was not good. I think they are more concerned with their "image" than their customers experience. They are obviously not in this for the money its more of a "hobby" for them. Do yourself a favor and check out the French goods on Etsy. Half the price and better vibes. read more

I have always loved the treasures at Elsie Green and have been a customer for many years. Their unique items are always singled out in my home when friends and family come to visit. The staff and owners are always willing to assist you in every way possible. Their prices are higher than when I first started shopping there (everything everywhere has gone up!). I purchased a vintage French rolling pin for $29 plus shipping and received a new looking rolling pin that I could have purchased at Target for $10. Very disappointed but would lose considerable money in shipping cost (both ways) so it's not worth returning. I would not buy from this company again. I guess they think tying a handwritten tag on the rolling pin saying it was found a a French flea market would fool me?? It didn't. I even asked them to send me a pretty one like they say they'll do on their website. read more

Fantastic new addition to The Barlow, a well curated vintage French themed home store with lots of one of a kind, unique items. From furniture to serving ware, EG has a wonderful offering of all things coveted. I couldn't walk away without some vintage dish towels, dyed in a modern grey tone. The have an online presence as well as a sister location in Concord that also serves as their warehouse. The owner is not friendly. They promote themselves as a "family run business" but there is nothing that feels like family when you go it. They don't go out of their way to help, and they seem annoyed that you are there at all. Especially the guy that works there. read more

I recently went to the concord location to buy a present for a friend who is a big fan of the style Elsie Green have "curated." It was not a great experience. The man working there couldn't have been more dismissive and unwelcoming. He made me feel very uncomfortable so I picked out something quickly, paid and couldn't wait to get out if there. Copper items including jam pots, pudding molds, roasting pans, anything you can think of! So disappointing! My first experience was in their Sebastopol store. What an amazing experience it was. The woman working that day greeted me and told me a bit about the store since I had never visited before. Many objects I picked up she would tell me a bit about it and the price (since many things were not labeled, so frustrating) She even took the time to unfold their vintage linens so we could get the measurements. After buying many things I was delighted to hear that their main shop was so close to my house in Concord. I was finally able to visit today and took my mom after telling her how amazing this store is. It was very hard to find and finally got there 15 minutes before it closed. We told the woman we were just walking through and it had been hard to find. She was nice and said "take you time". We walked around a bit and landed by the linen. I really wanted to buy a new set after falling in love with them in Sebastopol. There was a man sitting with his computer near the linen. I was chatting with my mom about the linens and how it was hard to choose as I loved them all. He closed his computer sighed loudly looked at us and walked away. Okay what ever, but then it turns out he works there. Not once did he offer to help us when he hear us talking and saying things like "I wonder if they have this size, I see this blanket on the bed but I don't see it over here". After finding a few items quickly my mom who hasn't been there before went to him because he was the only one in the store and asked how much an item was. He replied $20. Nothing else like where it was from, was it vintage, was it new, just a blank stare at us as if we were bothering him (it still wasn't closing time I checked) Then I asked about a cutting board he said $129 its old. Again nothing else. The energy their was terrible. It was so apparent we were bothering him. I am sad because I had such an amazing experience in Sebastopol and couldn't wait to take my mom there. We left 2 minutes after closing and bought nothing. I had been obsessing over their instagram and was so disappointed in this experience. read more

Love this place. Have been coming here for years and purchased many, many items. Laurie and JP and all the staff are amazing. Plus if you attend the alameda antique show every month you can find them out there also. Have found so many amazing one of a kind items from these guys -it's definitely one of my go to spots for decorative items and furniture pieces. read more
