Fantastic new addition to The Barlow, a well curated vintage French themed home store with lots of one of a kind, unique items. From furniture to serving ware, EG has a wonderful offering of all things coveted. I couldn't walk away without some vintage dish towels, dyed in a modern grey tone. The have an online presence as well as a sister location in Concord that also serves as their warehouse. This is an inspirational decor store you must see if you enjoy curating your own surroundings or looking for a gift and certainly a designers playground.

These stores are huge with all kinds of great ideas to make your home looks it's best. When I see homes selling for $2,000 a sq ft I recognize where the Decor came from.

They even have obscure items like dark purple sparkly grout. I was blown away by how large their showroom is. They even have XL porcelain slabs. I used to say I hate tile because of the grout but they have beautiful selections. They even have a clearance section in the back left of the store. The first visit we didn't find the Schluter edge trims we needed. But they do have a much larger selection than your local hardware store. The second visit I was looking for Y shaped spacers for installing hexagon tiles. An employee asked if I needed help. He and another employee took maybe 10 minutes out of their way to help me look for the Y spacers. Super nice! Exceptional service! Their inventory online actually seems to be accurate because they asked if I had the SKU and it told them the same number available as what I saw online. I had called two other flooring stores nearby to see if they sell Y shaped spacers but they don't. Definite plus in how large their inventory and selection is. I will be going out of my way to cross the bridge to go to Floor and Decor for my next project needs.

Disappointing experience…read more Not a good experience Purchased an expensive wool and viscose area rug that was recommended by one of their designers. They neglected to inform me the material the rug is made of cannot be professionally cleaned. If it is cleaned it will never look as good as it did when it was new, and the overall quality will deteriorate much faster compared to a wool or synthetic rug. Evidently the viscose shrinks and the rug can shrivel. I found this out today when I scheduled professional carpet cleaners to come out to clean it. They refused to clean the rug. I have pets and the designer knew this. If I had known this I would have NEVER purchased the rug. I have also experienced issues with communication. I purchased a painting that ended up not working for me and asked if they had recommendations on where I could resell it. I never got a reply.

I'd been putting off these purchases for about two years, because the thought of figuring out West Elm, Crate and Barrel, vs. online-only retailers was so daunting, and I wasn't looking forward to spend money on stuff that could be a total dud. Pros: -- Saves a TON of time. I had already spent hours on websites with no idea what I really wanted. I took a few ideas from Instagram, pics of our actual spaces to Shannon, and in a few days, she narrowed it down to 2-3 amazing options that totally fit our requirements and budget. (She was VERY respectful about budget- she was frank about what spending less or more money would get us, and was honest about what budget was realistic or not, and for stuff that was over budget, provided great cheaper options) -- **If you can afford West Elm et al, you can afford Countrywood** and get even more bang for your buck in terms of quality. I'm sitting on COMFY GORGEOUS DOWN-FILLED COUCH CUSHIONS as I write this for the same price as a sofa with a thin piece of latex cushion from Article. -- Great, expert advice so you get colors, materials and construction that actually makes sense for your life, not just whatever is cool on Instagram Cons: This is actually more of an FYI. They work with a lot wholesale-only furniture brands that only sell through decorators/retail, and anything custom will take a few months(!!!) especially because of COVID. Shannon does know which options are easier/faster to get, but if you really fall in love with a certain piece, be prepared to wait. But honestly, I've read online reviews of people ordering West Elm for a chair, and it taking MONTHS with NO actual updates. In my case, I emailed Shannon, she calls the factory, and I got shipping updates by the next business day.

I asked how they accumulated so many antiques since this wasn't their area of expertise. I was told by purchasing estate sales and inventory of closing Antique stores. The young lady worked for her father who started the business, as I understood, was enthusiastic, very kind and helpful though not knowledgeable when I asked her questions. Many/most items were not priced. I purchased a few tiny treasures and made a mental note of other items I was interested in, excited to return. Early stages of covid shutdowns/quarantine. I drove by and thought I'd stop in to browse. Yes it was open and the owner (father I believe) was there. I wore my mask - he did not. He stood very close to me following me from room to room. I had to keep backing away since he did not seem to be concerned about not wearing a mask. I thought it was required if you were going to keep your doors open for business, and politely made an exit. Each year since, I've tried to stop by to browse. The exterior is disturbingly cluttered and trash piled on porches and in back by parking area. I've seen a man come out the back door to dump trash confirming that the place wasn't abandoned though it appears to be. My thought was that the unappealing mess is intentional to deter customers. The ebay sales make sense now since the business can still be run without having a storefront or even being on site. The online presence states location is open Saturdays only. Consider that Buy-the-Way has excellent reviews but from years ago around the time of my first visit - notice the only recent reviews are mostly negative from ebay purchases.

It was the discount that prompted me to go ahead with the purchase, thank you! The store was easy to find. I was met on the porch by a gentleman not wearing a mask. I had mine on. He extended his hand and well, I haven't interacted with humans in a LONG time so it was natural to shake his hand, all the while thinking, "What am I doing?!?" Rest assured I was very aware of not touching my face until I got home. I perused the store for a bit. It was crowded and full of interesting stuff. I was distracted, but if things were different I would have enjoyed taking my time. The propriator came down and the pick up was complete. I have to say that I LOVE the piece I purchased and I'm SO glad she offered a discount. Oh, she did have a mask on, which made me feel better. We chatted a bit about art and she said she'd keep an eye out for the type of stuff I collect. After I got back I received a message about completing the purchase with a QR code. I had no idea, but it must be a part of the purchasing process when something is picked up in person. Completing this online was a piece of cake. Bottom line, if you're into antiques and you're in the neighborhood, check out Buy The Way Artiques (is that really the name, I had no idea!)
