I've been here a few times and never had a positive experience…read more Unfortunately, this is the most conveniently located big pharmacy places in this area, but getting there is where the convenience stops. The last time I was here, I went to buy deodorant. I hit the button and wait. After a few minutes the button stops calling for help cause it's been that long. I hit it again and wait. After a few minutes it stops calling for help cause it's been that long. I hit it again and wait. After a few minutes it stops calling for help cause it's been that long. It's been 10min so I head to the cashiers area and ask if there's anyone on the floor that can help. There are two cashiers and no people on line. They are chatting with each other. The guy (who seems like he's in charge) chastises me telling me I should just wait. I mention to him that I've been there for a while and that's when he starts yelling at me. I get that people are overworked and everyone has a bad day, but I also approached without any irritation or expectation. I legitimately just wanted to know if someone was available to help cause it could totally be the case that they just didn't have anyone on the floor. This guy was sooo angry and I didn't understand or appreciate his hostility. Eventually, I did get the product and come up to pay. The guy was gone and it was just his colleague. She apologized for my wait. I don't really care about the wait, I wasn't in a rush. It was being hollered at, without necessity, that was disappointing. So yea, come here only if you absolutely have to, but it might be worth going out of your way to another pharmacy-type place unless you're masochist.

My review pertaining only to the pharmacy. Since Rite Aid…read moreclosed down due to shop lifting by undocumented people, I have to resort to Duane Reade / Walgreens at 60-02 Roosevelt ave. The other day I had to pick up my prescription. I used this area because it's so close to my work. It seemed like I was being ignored by the older female with glasses.working in the pharmacy department. Finally she got to me. I only had to repeat my name to her 3 times, since she was so focused. I then returned about 4 hours later to retrieve the medication. Rite Aid would never take more than an hour. I won't complain about that. My complaint is when I returned to get my meds, the same woman was at one of the 3 counters. I stood under the sign which indicated " drop off / pick up ". She was maybe busy, she saw me standing there and by this time more people joined what I was lead to believe was the line. A few moments later, another associate came to the counter and called next. A gentleman with manners motioned for me to go first, since I was there first but was standing under the sign which I found out to be useless. I asked the associate about the instructions of the sign, he said there was only 1 line and every counter is the same ? So why not remove the sign ? I purchased my meds, he verified my address which was prob not neccesary ? His demeanor was more professional than the woman with the glasses, but honestly, I'm not dealing with this. The woman with the glasses has been working there , I believe for some time. She's low on energy, low on human interaction and probably intellectual ability. I will not be using this pharmacy to get My medication. The store as a whole is a different story. I have no problems with it, but the pharmacy is not worth my time.

I wait until 8:30PM to finally call and see whats up. I doubt this is this Walgreens fault directly as much as it is an issue with their automated emails, but you should not put the general customer service number in the spot where we're suppose to know the status of our order. They can only go by what's going on through a screen, as can I. Wasted time trying to get information for something I could have just seen myself. So I then finally directly contact the store. The clerk then over the phone says "oh we were waiting for you to come in so we could print the order." ?????? Why are you waiting for me when you gave me an estimated time of when the order should be ready?? No, *I* was waiting for *YOU*. Also where does it say in the email that you can only start until after I arrive?? What is that?? I'm running on a crunch time with the school work I have to catch up on, and I wasted a whole lot of time wandering around not waiting to breathe over their shoulders over this order. But I guess I should have been! Also I said I would have been at the store in the next ten minutes. I get a notification that my order is done three minutes later. Yet some how within those seven other minutes, my order got misplaced. It took them another ten or so minutes to find something they just apparently printed out. Idk if it's the lack of care of the staff or the lack of staff in general that are overworked but second time now experiencing this service and I am unimpressed. Photos came out nice though, so thank you for that. Please work on all else.

I made the mistake of setting this photo pick up order for another store without realizing. I went into this one and asked for the order, they spent some time looking for it , maybe about 5 minutes until the store clerk asked what the address was for the pick up. I showed her and we both realized I made a mistake. I instantly apologized and she just sucks her teeth at me, saying nothing else to me. Overall a very rude interaction. And coming from someone who works in a retail setting, If you don't like dealing with customers, get a new job.

They finally settled down on Justice Ave. It's a small pharmacy but a very efficient one. Photocopies are the old school 5 cent price, the owner/pharmacist is a always a nice mellow dude. His staff are always friendly and helpful, and the wait time for your medicine is never longer than 5 minutes. They have a 2 car driveway in the back for customers but it's usually filled. Newtown Pharmacy is less than half a block away from the Grand Ave Newtown train station and Q58 bus stop. Also, their items on random household stuff like shampoo, face wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc are not marked up too high for an independently owned pharmaceutical business. There are many other independently owned pharmacies along Broadway that have much higher prices. So when it comes to competitive pricing, Newtown Pharmacy would rank high on my list in Elmhurst. Their prices are not bad considering that there are 2 Walgreens stores, Duane Reade, and a Target all nearby.

After trying Amazon & websites of a variety of national retail chains by late Saturday afternoon I found Elmhurst Drugs Center online, a full local pharmacy that also carries a full line of surgical supplies. About an hour before closing time I made a call, describe what we needed, and I drove over there. The price was as good as any national retailer, the product was better designed and easier to install than those I had seen online, and the people at Elmhurst were very helpful. I recommend this store highly.
