The service department is filled with rude people from top to bottom. I work near the dealership so everytime I need something done, I try to see if I can talk to someone on the phone who might be able to help me without being a jerk. Everytime, every call you will deal with someone who has no time for your problem. I drive to westmont to have my service done just to avoid these people. At first they shared me a auto check sheet with clean title. Later while signing the deal, I found out that the document which they had shared me was a corrected one. Be aware....if you purchase a used (only 1 year old) vehicle From this dealer you could be getting a whole lot of problems that they are unwilling to help pay for or fix. We have had our vehicle (a 2019 Buick Enclave) into a local dealership over 5 times since purchasing only 2 months ago from Elmhurst BMW. So so so many issues with it that Elmhurst BMW are unwilling to help fix or pay for. The vehicle had obviously been in an accident and Elmhurst covered it up. The windshield is aftermarket and it leaked, the hood is unaligned and there is multiple screws missing once you lift the hood it was a service departments nightmare. But the gentlemen at Elmhurst BMW were, by far, the best people to deal with when buying a car. I went in last night, after perusing their website. They had the X3 I wanted and I took my parents in to help me out. First, off great job by Zain, and Jim Magnelli they were both very patient in staying past 9 o'clock. I am truly happy with the way I was treated and how transparent the transaction was. The only small nuisance was that when I called before going in to the dealer I was asking about a particular car ( color preference) and was told that it was available, but when I got there it turned out that the vehicle was used being as a loaner, at the end I did get a car but in a different color. I wish there was a way to better communicate this to the customer since I was set on that color. I have been talking to BMW Elmhurst Sales representative, Mr. Eugene Royfe from several days. Out of those, I have visited once to have a test drive a of BMW 3 series X drive few days back. We kept on communicating over the email to ensure that all the features and the price is optimized. Yesterday evening, I drove there from downtown office for do a test drive for an X3 (did not drive since he told me it's beyond my budget) and drove the following car BMW 3 series X drive (stock no B6426A - Color Sparkling Bronze) . He worked with the number and told me that my OOD price is $27050. Then he offered me the trade in value of my BMW 2003 for $2000. We were approx... $1000 away from out final negotiation. When he suddenly became irritated, as I requested him to go back to his manager (which is normal course by sales people as I have noticed in previous vehicle purchases). He got up from his chair and took the paper off the desk and shock hand with me and told me that we can't meet your monthly payment. I thought that was a little intense response from a BMW sales person who are professionally trained. I quietly walked out of the showroom without creating a scene. Since, I like this car very much with all the features (stock no B6426A - Color Sparkling Bronze). I emailed him again this morning asking him to help to with the OOD price. Here is our conversation (not exact word to word however, meaning is same) ME: Hi Eugene, how is your day going? You know I liked this car and I drove in snow last night for over 50 mile. HIM: Huh, did not get a good response. ME: Tell me what the final OOD price for this car is HE: 27050, I emailed you already and how many times you want to ask me. ME: Well this is OOD price right? HE: with your car (bmw2003 trade in) which we offered 2500$. ME: so tell me please the out of the door price for this car HIM: 27050 and your trade in ME: But I need to know OOD price without any trade in or down payment. Total OOD HI: But the monthly payment you want to pay is less than $335 ME: That is not an issue, I will talk to my bank to bring more down payment to bring my monthly payment down. HIM: How can you afford more payment now when you told last night that I can't go beyond $335 per month? ME: that is you don't have to worry, I am talking to my banker, please tell me what the out of the door price is. HIM: you have to put 10 K down to bring the payment to $335 per month. ME: Let's take a fresh look, assume I am not doing trade in for my car, let's not include my trade in value. I need to know how much I am paying total for this car. HIM: (rudely) I told you many times, its 27050 including your trade in. ME: I said please not include in trade in, why you are not telling me that OOD price. HIM : you know what, I don't want to sell the car to you and you buy from somewhere else ME : Thank you, bye I was shocked how I was treated and how a BMW trained sale person can treat someone like this and refuse to sell me the vehicle just merely I asked him many question ( which was my right as a customer) Bottom line, I like to make this complain official so that no other customer has to go thru this again and feel insulted when he is fully capable for purchasing a BMW and who is a diehard fan of BMW model. read more

I made an appointment in the service department with Scott. He told me a price which ended up being far from what I was charged. Obviously I expect to get ripped off at the dealership. I also expect Scott to be able to quote me a somewhat accurate number as this is his job. It's not a very difficult job and it's all that he does... A bit frustrated with service department. Have had my X5 there twice in past month for various services totaling $2,500.00. Picked up car today only to find out that the original reason I brought my car there wasn't working again. Anyone who would have driven the car at the service department should have noticed this. It was a very simple and noticeable problem with the back trunk latch. I bought the car there, have spent tons of money servicing it there in the past, but somehow things have changed for the worse. When I called to express my frustration just got a bunch of "service-speak" telling me not noticing the occurrence of the original problem wasn't their fault. This is my third BMW, the first two were purchased from Westmont where I never had these issues. Was trying to buy local in the town I live in. Now finding out the extra 10 minutes it took me to drive to Westmont was well worth it. read more

Hmm. Let me start by saying I have been driving Audi cars for last 15 years and this is my point of reference for Service Dept review. . My hubby wanted a certified BMW convertible and we purchased one month ago from Elmhurst BMW. 2011 328i, approx $31K. Purchase experience was very smooth, easy as we agreed on purchase and trade in price without issue. One month later we bring the car in for agreed upon work (tear in leather interior and lumbar button to be fixed) and two new issues (brake light came on within a week of buying car as did oil light). The work will take two days and they will give me a loaner car. Service dept at Audi is a well oiled machine-clean, professional, impeccable customer service. At BMW the techs wander around-at one point being chastised by boss-aimlessly and appear to have trouble pulling out cars with manual trans. Not that big of a deal. But then I get a dirty loaner. Dirty on the outside, and dirty on the inside. Not vaccumed or close to clean. So-suffice to say these guys fell way short on my expectation based on my Audi experience. A shame they didn't put their best foot forward-as a new customer I wasn't impressed. 3 stars because this wasn't an epic fail -things go wrong with cars and they need the opportunity to fix it-but certainly not a 4 or 5 star experience. read more

He had been really helpful with information via email. In person he was great also. It was low key. There was no haggling as the used BMW was already marked to what I believe was as good a price as I was going to find. I just got the feeling that this was a reputable dealership happy to have your business but not at all interested in a pressure sale. I felt at ease. I've held off on this for a while but I got something in the mail from these guys. My wife has a 3 series X. Every time it goes to the shop it's 1000$, and there are also a number of things that need to be fixed. Listening to the service guys I'm surprised the car runs at all. Without fail when we pick the car after service a trouble light comes on. I don't know what to think. This is my wife's 1st BMW , but I've had over 6 including an M5 and I never had any problems with it Last year the turn signal needed to be fixed. The diagnosis came back as a melted light housing and it will be 850$. I thought it was high but paid it. Fast forward to 4 months ago. The other turn signal goes out and the service guys guess what?? Melted housing and that will be 850$. We didn't pay it because that would have been 1700$ in turn signal repairs. This is what makes me suspicious. We told them we won't pay for it and the service guy comes out to the car and replaced the turn signal bulb. It has worked flawlessly. My only conclusion is that the original turn signal where we paid the 850$ could have just been a replacement bulb. I'm not going to get into their attitude. I've had to tell one of the guys to tone it down when he was talking to my wife. Bottom line I'm going to get someone else to work on her car. And I will never ever buy a car from Elmhurst. I've told my circle of friends these stories and they've HD similar experiences with Elmhurst BMW Don't go here, because the service dept tries to make up for the discount you got on the car when u bought it read more

A little background on the issue... We all know the concept of "shady used car salesmen", but let's be honest. Usually this term calls to mind someone slinging '88 Pontiacs at an out-of-biz gas station turned car dealership. I NEVER thought I'd encounter this type of behavior at a luxury dealer until I went to Elmhurst. I have been going there for service for a while with no complaints, and figured to expect the same treatment from the sales group. Not so much.... I had been browsing used X5's when a particular salesman came out to help me. We talked about 2 cars, both V8's, one in blue and one in black. I liked the black one, so I took it out for a spin. Very enjoyable, I'll say. Following the test drive, and after looking elsewhere, I e-mailed the salesman and we began a dialogue on the vehicle (the black V8) that I wanted. He started by giving me the price they wanted, evaluating my trade, and over the course of the week we came to a nice arrangement... I am sitting at his desk, pen and check in hand, and just waiting to cover final numbers when this guy asks "were you looking at the black V8 4.4 or V6 3.0? Because the V8 will be a different price..." WTF!!!! I had not EVER looked at ANY of the V6's. The email string between us clearly shows that I was talking about the V8, as evidenced by the miles and initial pricepoint. (incidentally, the V6 has an extra 20K+ miles) This guy just tried to play me! Got me all the way to the office ready to go, and then pulls out on the price we negotiated over an entire week!!!! Is this even legal? Are email negotiations binding as if in writing? After expressing my displeasure, he "worked" the new price, bringing it down about 1/4 of the way to the price we actually negotiated, which was not enough to make the deal regardless of how angry I was. Add the anger, and as you can imagine, I walked out. This dealership should be ashamed about this behavior! Are they really in such a good place financially that they would screw a prospective buyer out of a V8 SUV in a time when SUVs aren't exactly flying off the lots? Afterwards, they claimed to have nothing to gain by doing this intentionally, so it must have been a mistake... Except that they at least tried to get an additional $6K out of me, and it turns out they were also trying to sell to someone else. I have to assume that they knew the other guy would bite on a higher price, so they took the switch shot on me. read more

I recently bought a used car through this dealership, and it was a surprisingly pleasant. I went through their internet sales guy, a somewhat phlegmatic fellow named Eugene. The whole process was very low-key, and the dealership itself was very comfortable, without the blaring club music that most other dealerships seem to use to keep you slightly disoriented. During the actual sale I was assured that the advertised price was already the 'best price', but of course that's never the case, and a bit of very restrained negotiation ensued with a resulting modest reduction in price. After the purchase I discovered that the passenger side mirror camera wasn't working; apparently that mirror/camera had been replaced and the repair shop had failed to calibrate it. After bringing this to the attention of Eugene he said he'd have the dealership cover the cost of repairs if it wasn't covered by the remaining warranty. It turned out he was as good as his word and I received a check from the dealership almost immediately after sending them a copy of the bill. I was surprised and impressed with that. With the current shortage of cars I had spent a lot of time looking, and had the opportunity of interacting with a number of dealerships, and I'll have to say that Elmhurst BMW really stood out in being customer-focused and in creating a pleasant, non-aggressive environment. The salesman said that it had been through a vigirous checkthrough before purchasing... I had to bring it in a month after and they had to do some service at the expense of me! My wife was in search of a new/used car. She has been looking for months for that perfect car. She came across a used BMW that she liked and contacted the dealership. Horrible place to service your BMW! Normally, I don't take my vehicle into a dealership for my servicing needs. BMW issued a couple of recalls recently and since it is being paid for by BMW, I had no choice but to take it into a nearby BMW Dealership for service. I regret that I chose Elmhurst BMW. Their service advisors are dishonest, they lie to your face with no shame, they make promises that they can't keep and they are poor communicators. I made an appointment to come in at 8:00 AM. I sacrificed my sleep to wake up at 6:00 AM on that day. After I Checked in at the dealer for my recall repair work, the service advisor convinced me to get a loaner for that day since the repairs are expected to take at most 6 hours. I made it clear to him that I intended to pickup my car the same day. He said he would call me around lunch time to let me know about the progress. I received no calls whatsoever. I called at 12:30PM and left message on his voicemail. I called again an hour later and he would not pickup the phone. He also refuses to return phone calls. After several more tries, I finally talked to him on the phone around 2:00PM. He said the technician is finishing up the work on one of the recalls and nothing is done on the other ro. By this time, I had waited 6 hours (at home) and it should have been long enough to finish all the repairs assuming they started the work soon after I left the dealer. Instead, I find out that the car sat in their lot all morning. What is the point of making an appointment and coming in so early if they are not going to check in your car right away and assign it to a technician to work on soon after? They said they had a backlog of repair work from the day before. Why is this my problem? Why overcommit to your customers with false promises that you cannot keep? I returned the loaner and picked up my car around 3:00PM without the second recall repair work completed. They have issues with scheduling, coordinating and most of all POOR COMMUNICATION, and setting expectations. I would stay away from this dealership until they cleanup their act! read more
