Today I ordered 2 tacos 1 Sopa and 1 Torta and 1 large Horchata. We dined in so I asked if they offered chips and salsa. They said "No, it is extra". I said no problem and asked how much it was. They were changing $6.99. I declined because I felt that was overpriced. We got our food. There was barely any steak on the torta. And they were charging $12.75 for it. I normally don't complain as I used to be in the food service industry and know how it is but decided to bring it up to them due to the price. I asked if they could put more steak on the torta. The cook came to the front and was extremely rude and said "if you don't like the food then just give it back and we will give you a refund.". I told him that I wanted to get what I paid for and to not my money back. And he said something about it being portion controlled and he just works there but continue to be rude and said he could just give me my money back. After some arguing back and forth we decided to give him the food back. My wife ate half of her food I took two sips of my horchata and he only refunded me everything but the $8 for the sope. This was extremely unprofessional. Again I don't complain much especially with reviews, however this was very disrespectful. I asked to speak to the owner and when he would be in but they said they don't know and we're extremely dismissive. Another thing to note is that we ordered off of the large menu in the restaurant then come to realize that most items listed on the receipt where at least $0.75 more that we paid for. We ended up paying over $3.50 more than what was advertised on there menu that people order from every day. Buyer beware please make sure you check your receipt when you order from there. I did bring this up to the cashier and he said "oh yeah those prices are old". I understand that but they should be updated it would take no more than 20 minutes to update the menu. read more

I'll make this as simple of a review as I can. I'm not from the area but needed to kill time on an empty stomach with my kid. Is it pricey... yep. 16.35 for a 3 steak taco dinner with beans and rice... .65 cents for two lime wedges... I would usually get up and say something about that and demand at least two more watches, but I chose to choose my battles today. Yes it is a little pricey $4.15 per steak taco however... the owners are very friendly and the food is really good. A side of guacamole with chips at 999 was a little steep, but the guacamole was creamy and flavorful the steak for the steak tacos tasted like something you would find sitting on a grill at the back yard fiesta. What I'm trying to say is is the price a bit steep... Yes absolutely however, the quality is on point. Delicious! Would I make this my regular spot...? Not on any day but in payday... Let me start off by saying the food isn't bad. It's average for a Mexican restaurant. I will say that this place is INSANELY OVERPRICED. Portion sizes are small. I ordered 3 tacos and they were barely two bites each with little steak. $4.10 a piece WAS NOT WORTH IT. I also got a large steak quesadilla which also barely had any steak in it. $10.99 for barely any steak and cheese on a tortilla is CRIMINAL . When I heard the predecessor restaurant (Emily's) was sold in 2020, I literally felt like my world was falling apart. But for any that frequented Emily's, the quality and service continues with Elly's. In fact, I think the owners (husband-wife duo I believe) used to work there prior to the sale. But I digress, Elly's is my go-to Mexican joint. In fact, I wholeheartedly refuse to get carne asada tacos anywhere else because I'm sure to be disappointed, even when compared to fancier sit-down places. The meat is so perfectly seasoned/marinated with not an ounce of fat. When not in the mood for red meat, either the chicken taco or burrito are a suitable alternative. Salsa-wise, proceed with caution on the red one. You won't find any "tomato-puree" here. read more

Service was questionable, I asked questions and the cashier seemed uninterested and generally in a bad mood. I was going to chalk that up to a teenager that did not know what customer service was, until I had the food. I had a chicken taco, carnitas taco, and chips with guacamole. The total was just over $20. Each taco was very small and very bland. They gave a green hot sauce that was not that good at all. It had heat but no taste. I do not usually give poor reviews. I was raised to be silent if you have nothing nice to say. But this experience needs to be shared. I ordered one vegetarian taco, hold the cheese and sour cream (I am vegan). The list price on both the print menu and the board menu in the store said $2.99. I was charged $3.74. I questioned the charge and they said "taxes". The taco had a ton of cheap rice as a filler, some beans, some iceberg lettuce that has no nutritional value, and some poor tomatoes that were barely red and had no flavor at all. I called them out on the price discrepancy and first they quoted a different (higher) price for the taco than what was listed on the in-store and print menus, and when I mentioned that detail they said it was taxes. Let me tell you- I would give my left arm for a fabulous burrito these days. I have been dying to eat GOOD AUTHENTIC Mexican food for weeks now and everything has been a major let down (Paul Richards is on a steak and birria taco kick). I decided to order a Mexican style burrito and it was everything I dreamed of and more. So flavorful, the meat was juicy and tender, it had the perfect amount of cilantro and onions, and the rice and beans in the burrito were delish. What sent this baby over the edge was the absolutely delightful salsa verde poured on top. Only went here once and will never again. The burrito which cost over $10 is smaller then my hand. Asking for salsa an extra charge. Cup of water smaller than a shot glass.
