We've only had the tacos and they're very good, at least the pastor, pollo and chorizo. We're regulars at most of the Mexican restaurants in Elgin and Cokito ranks right up there. If you need utensils you'll need to ask for them. If you want your taco with cilantro and onion ask for that too. Otherwise it's with tomatoes kind of American style. The chips and salsa are a nice touch. Parking and dine-in table space are at a premium. Small restaurant on a corner lot. Definitely legitimate place.

Steak Quesadilla,I ordered fries as a side. This also came with a small bag of chips and these two salsas.

I have not had their tacos but their steak quesadillas are really good. They even have veggie options for quesadillas. Their tortillas are handmade which are very fresh and tasty. I ordered fries on the side and it even came with a small bag of chips and salsa verse (love) and salsa roja. Will be back for more.

Real authentic taqueria with authentic fillings. Lengua and chorizo are good options. Also have burritos and tortas. Simple toppings. A bit divey, not a very nice place to sit in and eat-- get your food to go and walk down to the riverside for a picnic instead.

Three carne asada tacos - they tasted great and the lime was a nice touch!

I got the steak taco dinner and my husband ordered the pastor chimichanga. Both were amazing! Very friendly also.

Holy Mole! Finally found (after 30 years living here) THE best Mexican food in Elgin. Wow!!!…read moreEverything we had was superb. The Chips and salsas (including Aguacate!!!) yummy,. Laurie's streak tacos tasted like back in Yucatán decades ago. Perfect steak, plenty of onion and cilantro, simple but delicious on perhaps the finest corn tortillas I've had in the U.S. (inclusive of the homemade ones from friends). My chicken Flautas were out of this world good, perfect crunch and loaded with pickled cabbage, crema, avocado ... on the side was rice and refried beans par excellance! Margarita was great too. We will return!!!

The flavor of the consomme was great. I ordered the cachetada (steak) taco, fish taco, and grilled shrimp taco with rice and beans. Everything was very flavorful and tasty. The tortillas were soft and perfect temp. The chimichurri on the steak taco had a good kick and the sauce paired nicely on breaded fish taco with mango pico. The caramelized and pickled onions were also perfectly matched with each of the dishes. It all tasted very fresh, which I love! My BF ordered the enchiladas and he said the Rojas with the chicken was excellent. The interior had a very chill vibe and it wasn't too busy for a Tues around 7pm. Our server was nice and service was prompt. Didn't try any of the drinks but the menu looked like it had several different margarita and specialty cocktail options. We will be back!

Every time I have been here the place is full. Their drinks are fun. For the designated drivers and angry drunks, I've been told that most all of their signature cocktails can be made into mocktails, so you won't miss out. Their food is delicious. They have a great menu and present food well, considering this is a party bar atmosphere. Not singling out this place, but I agree with the many who complain that street tacos should not be inflated from $2 to $6, just because they are popular now. When it comes to tacos, No Manches saves itself because they have many specialty versions, like ribeye, pork belly, and even cod. In every visit, many people check in on us to make sure we're doing okay, much appreciated. Also, their salsa verde is the best of all three salsas, try to fight me on that.

That said, the live music creates a high-energy vibe, so it's not the best spot for a quiet dinner or for kids. Perfect if you're looking for flavor and atmosphere. A couple issues with our meals however the manager made sure to fix them to ensure we were happy when we left. Well done.

The poblano cream sauce on the chicken was SO GOOD and just the right spice/heat level. It's in an unassuming strip mall and has an extensive food and drink menu. Stand outs were the flaming tequila saganaki appetizer, kiddie mocktail options, and tons of hot options like Chile rellenos, tacos, elotes, and burritos. My kids didn't really like the mac and cheese (stating it was tooooo cheesy), but it looked decent and used cavatappi noodles. My $12 carnitas burrito was a great deal and enough for 2 meals. Our $100 bill covered: - a frozen mango margarita (towers, which are equivalent of 5 margaritas, are available too) - cosmo martini - saganaki appetizer lit up table side - elotes tamales - carnitas burrito - 2 kids' meals - complimentary chips and salsa - tax and 20% tip Service was extremely attentive and pleasant! Recommending this to all, and can't wait to go back when in the area! Adios!
