BUT, I can totally see where they would get packed. It a nice island vibe with Rasta style music, a great pina colada (don't let the "it's not frozen" keep you from ordering it, trust). The fried shrimp are delicious, nice sized, the wedge is huge and the gumbo is pretty decent too. The cornbread, must! We got bread pudding to go based on all we tried today. I really enjoyed the mini escape which reminded me of some eateries in the Bahamas. You can never go wrong with that! Cost...mid I would say; staff is super friendly. We will be back.

The food was okay nothing really stood out. I tried the brown butter scallops, and they just tasted like oily scallops. Not too much flavor, but they were cooked nicely. I also tried their avocado tuna taco, and those were a bit weird. The flavors and texture weren't it for me. The inside was kind of mushy, but it did have a hint of yuzu sauce, which made it tolerable. Next, I tried the gumbo with cornbread, and the cornbread with the gumbo was a game changer. It definitely kicked it up a notch. The gumbo didn't have very strong flavors like other gumbos, but I still enjoyed it. Then I tried the fish and chips. The fish was cooked crispy to my liking, and the portion size was decent. However, the fries were a bit too hard and tasted a little stale. The oysters were the last thing I tried and they were pretty decent my favorite was the easy coasts ones. My only complaint with them were the shell some pieces of shell ended up in the meat portion. The service was great too and they have happy hour.

You have to want to eat and drink…read morewell enough to drive a little farther than is convenient--and that's already the first good sign. This isn't a shiny, soulless concept bar with Edison bulbs and a marketing team. It's a neighborhood joint that understands the fundamentals: cold beer, poured correctly; food that knows what it is; prices that don't insult you; and a staff that actually gives a damn. Let's talk beer first, because they clearly do. The draft list is deep and thoughtful--enough variety to satisfy the hop-chasers, the lager loyalists, and the folks who just want something cold and honest after a long day. And yes, they know how to pour a proper Guinness. Settle time. Correct head. No shortcuts. That alone tells you everything you need to know about their priorities. The menu doesn't try to reinvent the wheel or lecture you about provenance. It's bar food done with intention. The street tacos are the kind you order expecting "good enough" and end up wishing you'd ordered two more. Balanced, flavorful, no unnecessary nonsense. The fried cod special? Exactly what it should be--hot, crisp, flaky inside, and served without ego. Comfort food that respects the eater. Prices are fair. Refreshingly fair. The kind of prices that make you relax, order another round, maybe stay longer than planned. That's not an accident--it's hospitality. This is the kind of place that reminds you why local bars matter. Why it's worth skipping the chain down the road and driving a little further for something real. 2 Ways Draught & Kitchen isn't trying to be famous. It's just trying to be good. And that's why it is. Go thirsty. Go hungry. And don't rush it.

I called a few days before to ask and the lady was nice enough to let me know when to get on the wait list for the best possible outcome of being seated when we got there. We got there about 30 minutes before we were seated so it wasn't too bad. Remember it was a holiday and brunch is popular for mother's day. The inside is so cute and the bakery food looked so good. The hostess and server we got were so nice. I got the Brisket Benny with a side of fruit. The brisket was sooo tender and flavorful. The biscuit it was on was yummy too. My mom got the Italian Omelet with a side of cheese grits. She didn't like that the spinach still had the stems but other than that it was very good and the cheese grits were seasoned nicely. We brought them home and my 10 month old LOVED them. My sister had the bacon egg and cheese croissant with a side of potatoes and we all shared the waffle. My sister doesn't drink but she got a sprite with pineapple juice and she loved it. My mom got the bloody marry. She loved it. I'm not a fan of tomato juice BUT I'd definitely get one next time I go. I got an iced latte and added caramel sauce and it was perfect. It was definitely a good experience and I am looking forward to going again but on a non holiday this time.

You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.
