Yes the trees were removed, but the yard was left much less manicured than expected. They throw branches and stuff into the woods and the lawn was pretty much trashed. Maybe this is typical with tree removal but it's just not what we thought was going to happen. We now have to pay a crew to remove two piles of branches and debris. read more

Full transparency I did not hire them and can't comment on their actual work. What I can say is my neighbor in Shrewsbury hired them June 27 th and they made her sign a document stating they weren't responsible for damage to the grass which I understand. HOWEVER, they didn't even TRY to protect the grass by putting down plywood to drive their heavy trucks on like most anyone driving on soft grass for tree work. They created large ruts in the grass. I know this because I voluntarily cut this persons grass and my mower now jumps all over the place when I go over the ruts. I did the best I could to pull it back up but they are deep ruts and with a powerful commercial mower like mine it bounces all over the place almost out of control. ELLIOT TREE - PLEASE AT LEAST TRY TO PROTECT THE GRASS OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!! or future customers go elsewhere! Signed Very unhappy non customer who wouldn't hire them. I really like these guys, but previously I had left a poor review. Pros: Very nice, carry themselves professionally. Clearly, they love trees. Cons: They were unable to save two specimen trees that in hindsight we probably should have let nature takes its course. I wasn't thrilled with spending a few hundred dollars to no good end. But... here's where they get some deserved kudos. Upon learning of my unhappiness, they made a sincere effort to do right by us. Other work they've done maintaining the canopy of our river birch stand has been pretty impressive. River birches can get pretty ratty looking when they mature, but by keeping on top of them (literally) we've kept the south facing front of our house in comfortable shade much longer than we ever expected. read more

Amazing locally owned company! We had them remove 5 trees from our backyard so we could do a deck expansion. Elliot came to the property himself, viewed the job and made recommendations. He gave a thorough, detailed explanation of the scope of work and even made some alternative money saving suggestions to what our original plan was. The Job was done on schedule, very professionally and at the end he even threw in some extra yard grading and misc dead tree mulching at no charge (since the Big Cat was already on-site). They also cleaned up 100% after, as if they were never there at all! Most importantly, we were worried about them ruining our grass with their equipment...and there was no damage at all thanks to there planking system (other companies didn't offer this). This was a big project for us and we did our research (we got four quotes before pulling the trigger) and we don't take spending $4K lightly but Elliot and Co made it a very easy experience. To be upfront, his quote was the 2nd highest $$ of the four quotes - but he rationally explained why that was the case). They took my tree down for the price they quoted me. I didn't know they would be tearing up my front yard and back yard that wasn't even near the tree. They also damaged my neighbors yard when they parked a crane in their driveway without even asking. If you need a tree taken down and you don't care about your lawn I guess you should give them a call. read more

Came out to our home and gave a very fair estimate for having some limbs removed from a few trees. Came out the following week to perform the work. Everyone that we dealt with were professional, approachable and clearly listened to what we wanted done. The work was done well, as was the clean up --there was no debris of any kind in our yard/driveway. We would recommend them to anyone needing tree work. Did not even take all the trees out of the yard. Branches were left over the entire yard. Missed two of the trees the first time and took 2-3 additional weeks to come back. Back yard was completely ruined (stated some disturbance would happen, didn't inform it would be that much damage or we would have gotten another company with different equipment that wouldn't have made such a mess). Took a big chunk out of our driveway with the machinery. Made zero effort to adjust the invoice when asked-was told that we were "aware"...Would never recommend this company. read more

12/16/20.. If anyone is looking for tree service don't choose this business. I came home earlier today from work around noon. Tried to pull into my driveway but couldn't because it was filled with tree limbs and branches from a tree they were cutting down next door. The people living next door didn't inform me of this work and neither did this business. They moved the tree limbs, so I could get into my driveway, but they had alot of nerve letting huge limbs drop onto my driveway, possibly damaging it. When I confronted one of the lead guys there, he had no mask on and neither did anyone else. Granted, they are working outside, but if someone comes up to you, you should mask up.. All he had to say after I asked him who gave you permission to drop all the limbs and branches in my driveway, he said we can't help where the limbs and branches drop...that's bull. If a tree service company can't know where debris is going to fall from a tree that they are taking down, they shouldn't be in busy.... I had Trees Unlimited from Rutland take a huge pine tree down at the back of my property last fall. They didn't get any debris in my neighbor's yard and it cost me half the price as these guys were....Then in his next breath he stated...well we assume neighbors get along...I said we don't have a relationship and they shouldn't assume that. To me, I believe the crew were arrogant with their responses and how they conducted their presence here in my neighborhood. I am on a corner lot and they had one of their large pickup trucks in the middle of the street, most likely inconveniencing my neighbors on the other side of my house. I had a dead tree in my yard and have been trying to find a company to remove it along with a very large dead branch over hanging my electrical wires in my back yard. Elliot tree came out and had the tree down clean and the very tricky branch in back yard down in 45 minutes. They acted fast and was amazed at how careful they were removing the tree. Agreed to remove four large bushes and the stumps back in January as part of a large removal project, however they couldnt remove the stumps at the time as the ground was frozen. I was told they would come back in the Spring however hey dont have any other stump grinding jobs in the area so they have said "sorry, we aren't going to do it." So they took full payment for the job (although the owner lost our first check and we had to issue a second one) and now the last part of the job is deemed two small for them to be bothered. We had a sickly tree in the yard of a house we just bought. I was very worried about it. Josh from Elliott Tree Care came by to take a look at it within a few days and agreed it should be taken out. When I got home, you couldn't tell there had been a crew with huge vehicles anywhere near there. There were no leaves or debris in the yard either. I was charged not a penny more than what was estimated. Payment was made online, and I received a PDF receipt immediately. I had a maple with a severely termite damaged trunk that was very large and had many branches that hung over the power lines. I needed someone to cut it down safely before it fell and took the wires down on its own. Elliot Tree gave the best quote and were extremely professional. Graeme and his crew arrived promptly on the scheduled day. We discussed exactly what they were going to do, then they quickly and efficiently went to work. They did a great job removing two very large poplar trees, and trimming many other trees. They took the large logs from the property, and chipped the smaller branches. Graeme asked me if I wanted the wood chips; when I said I did, he spread them where I wanted them. They did an excellent job cleaning up when they were done. Don't bother with any other tree company. They are so neat and professional you won't even know they were there. They leafblowed and raked the site where the trees were removed and even built a "road" out of plywood to roll their equipment on the lawn so no ruts were put in the lawn.... without even asking.
