Favreau Forestry removed a very tall tree with several trunks (leaders?) that was close to the house. It was a precarious situation because that tree was threatening the house. Brian Favreau, and his crew, arrived and proceeded to take the tree down, piece by piece. There were 5 men working and about as many pieces of equipment. Every man knew his job and did it efficiently. I marveled at their efficiency. One man, supported and moved by the crane operator, went into the unknown branches of the top of that intact tree to lasso the top of that tree. I knew that there can be unseen bees nests up there, i.e., this is dangerous work that requires skill and courage. Brian then cut the "roped" top of the tree (successive tops of the leaders as they continued to cut it down) and the crane operator moved those sections to the driveway where other men were waiting to wrangle a few thousand pounds of tree into a pile. A neighbor marveled at the crane operator's ability to hold each severed tree piece "steady as a rock" and the fact that another man was running up our steep hill to move from one task to another during a terribly hot and humid day. In addition, I was impressed by the crew's attention to safety. Every time Brian restarted that chain saw he did it from well outside of the bucket in which he was standing. Every time another man started up the chipper there were a couple of pieces of what I thought were safety equipment on that rig that were slipped into place. In addition, they all had on helmets equipped with microphones so that they could hear each other over the din of 3-4 pieces of equipment that were working at any one time. That was very important to me because one poor soul was recently killed because he was swung into a bees' nest at the top of a tree and no one could hear him call for help. Everyone was friendly, the work was done quickly/efficiently and it was very high quality, totally expert work with careful clean-up included before they left the property. The initial assessment and proposal was thorough and well-articulated in enough detail that we ended up with precisely the services we needed at what seemed like fair pricing. The only area for minor improvement is we didn't know when they were coming to perform the services, and they just showed up one afternoon (and then again early one morning for stump grinding follow-up soon after) - an advance call to confirm and ensure we had our dogs secured would have been helpful. Had some snow damage to a couple Lilac trees and wanted to save them. Called the good folks at Favreau Forestry to set up an appointment. The next thing I know I get a phone call (sorry, I'm not able to remember the person's name, but he was an Arborist) and was told that they had already come by to assess the damage and that the solution was to cut back the damaged limbs and they would recover without any special treatment. He probably could have told me anything and I'd have paid for it, but he refused any payment knowing that I could easily take care of the issue myself. I couldn't have been more pleased. He assessed the damage, told me the easy fix, and refused any payment for his time. Classy move. I'm convinced that if you use Favreau Forestry, you'll get an honest deal. read more

Every aspect of working with Brian and the Favreau team was positive. We started with a visit to the house so Brian could get an idea of what we were trying accomplish. He made recommendations. We made a decision on what we wanted done. He took pictures and video. Marked what we agreed to on the photos and sent them along with a price and a time estimate. They showed up the day before to mark the trees and confirm what we had planned. The next day he came with wide range of equipment including a large crane to move trees over the house out to the road. They got the job done quickly and cleaned up everything before they left. Favreau Forestry did an excellent job with some recent tree work at our home. Brian Favreau was a pleasure to work with from the first day I met him, until the last of our work was complete. We had some thunder in the morning of the day scheduled, but once the storm passed, they made quick work taking down 7+ large trees very close to our house. The company's quote was very reasonable, much cheaper than another company's quote. I asked for a few additional small trees to be taken out and some logs moved, and all this extra work cost me very little. All workers we're extremely nice, and went above and beyond cleaning the yard before they left. The big logs were picked up a few days later. I very much recommend Favreau!! read more

I had Favreau Forestry come and remove an Alberta spruce tree, screened in structure and base. Plus a chain link fence. Loam and seed disturbed area.Cut overhanging vegetation on the side of house. They came within the week of sending the proposal. Two men came to take down the fence and screen house and base. The fence posts were cemented in the ground.They had a little backhoe to remove the posts. After they finished that another crew came to cut the vegetation and clean all the area.When they had finished the first crew came back with the loam.Very well coordinated operation.Everything was left very clean and neat. I am 100% satisfied with the job that Favreau Forestry did in my yard. A fairly large area in my side yard was overgrown with saplings and brush. They did a fantastic job clearing everything away. They were very conscientious about working with me to see if there was anything that I wanted to save.They did the cutting, pulled roots, ground stumps, and leveled the land. They even brought in some loam for an area where I wanted to grow grass and wood chips for an area that is too shady for grass. I had 5 large oak trees removed last week. I have used them several times now over the years since the work they complete is exceptional. The cost to remove the trees and grind the stumps is fair and reasonable. When complete, there are no small branches from the trees left on the property and nearly all the chips from the chain saws are gone. I did not need to do any cleanup. The company is very responsive, keeps you informed as to when they will arrive. Brian and crew are very personable to talk with and answer questions. Favreau Forestry did a great job removing 3 large trees on my property. All required a crane since they were within inches/feet from my home and growing within the powerlines. One was growing out of my foundation and another one was directly above my chicken coop, so I was nervous. They fit us in sooner than I expected, pricing was competitive, and they did an amazing job. Our yard was one thick green canopy that reached over our roof, making it a mess of leaves and tree debris. Brian expertly detailed a plan to remove dead wood and raise the canopies on three mature maples and a very tall catalpa tree, plus removal of two large pines. Unbelievable how so much work was accomplished without damaging one bush or plant in my yard or along the property line. The tree branches cut were all carefully selected. leaving each tree with a clean, sculptured look, allowing sun and air throughout the yard. Price and service were excellent as well. I had a lot of young trees that were taking over my back yard. I called Favreau and they were very proffessional and friendly. Brian came over to look and I got a quote back within a few days. It wasn't a large job and they called me one night and asked if they could come the following day. They came in two waves that day one to cut and the others to chop. Brian came out after hours and we looked at the trees to be removed and those to be trimmed with flashlights. I had a quote the next day. I was very happy with the quote and faxed a signed contract that night. The next day Brian called and asked if they could do our job that afternoon! YES! Since Favreau did such a great job removing trees overhanging our house last year we asked them to come back to remove nuisance huge dead branches overhanging the driveway and huge branches broken during an ice storm... The difference now is amazing, no more widow makers crashing down on the driveway during every windstorm,,, the amount of sun and air flow is like night and day,,, worth every cent ! Two old, very tall maples in the middle of my front yard had suffered storm damage and become a hazard. My neighbors could remove some of the fallen branches, but the trees themselves required careful, professional removal. Brian's crew came with a crane, a tree chipper and together they were like a Swiss watch. They shredded the useless stuff, neatly piled the useful logs, and cleaned up after themselves.
