Took my car for an oil change and inspection with the local flavor, and I sat for 2-3 hours. Go home, check my dipstick and the oil was so high that im lucky my car didn't have other issues. The unprofessionalism of the workers in the back blaring Mexican music, while I sat for hours only to get my car back that they did more damage then good is absurd. We have been getting our cars serviced by him for over 15 years; from inspections to replacing our transmission. Our Nissan Rogue needed repaired. After it was serviced. it continued making a noise. Even Lancaster Nissan could not diagnose the problem. Elliott refused to accept this. He said, "This is personal!" Elliot scheduled each one a day apart. The last one was my wife's car. I brought it in on Thursday right before Labor Day weekend. I used a localflavor.com offer for an inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. I asked them to forego the oil change as I had just done it myself not too long ago. At the end of the service I was informed that my emissions had passed, but to pass the safety inspection I would need to replace the right license plate bulb. I informed the employee, which I believe was the owner, that I had just changed both license plate bulbs less than two weeks ago, and I had also taken a picture of them in the parking lot as I was dropping off my car. He invited me into the shop area to show me and both lights were working. He and another mechanic then informed me that the other mechanic working on my vehicle had tapped the light fixture and that's what got it to work. Amazing. Do not take your car to this shop unless you know exactly what needs fixed because they will scam you. Also, if you use certificates for this kind of service, verify your license plate lamps work when you drop off your vehicle as this is the fourth service center that has pulled this scam. read more

Because we liked Elliot as a peron we continued to take our cars there even after a few problems. Big mistake!!! After repeated problems with my husband's car I MADE him go to another mechanic that we had heard good things about. The new mechanic found the problem immediately and said Elliot had put the wrong alternator on the car and rather than admit the problem he continued to make temporary fixes which only made things worse!! In the meantime my sister brought her car to Elliot for a state inspection. He told her she had a problem that would cost $996 to fix. My son took his car to Elliott's because he had a coupon for $24.95 inspection/oil change. They failed his inspection siting pitted rotors and leak in exhaust system. Cost to repair - $700! He paid the $24.95 and took his car to my mechanic for a 2nd opinion. My mechanic said his rotors are pitted but you can't fail inspection for pitted rotors, only if they're bad. And his weren't. As for the exhaust system, the leak was in the pipe. The rest of his exhaust system was fine. They sealed the leak. Elliott's was going to replace the entire exhaust system. The cost of inspection and repairs at my mechanic- $145. Elliott's will recommend unnecessary and expensive repairs. Think twice before you take your vehicle there. read more

Horrible experience! My inspection was 2 days or so passed inspection month. I am also a woman. I was told I needed 4 rotors on my vehicle and a few minor things and were going to charge me over $850. Then they offered me a 10% discount, bringing it to just under $780. Knowing it hadn't been very long since I had my brakes replaced, and the rotors checked, I opted to get a second opinion. Turns out that all 4 of my rotors were in good shape and not near ready to be replaced! How horrible that a business would try to take advantage of someone like that! I would NOT recommend Elliot's to anyone. I took my daughter's Toyota Sienna there for inspection. After a very long wait, Elliot said that the steering rack was leaking, a stabilizer part was worn out, and that a rear shock absorber was leaking. We didn't let them do the work, so my daughter took the van to her regular mechanic, who found NOTHING wrong with the parts that Elliot had mentioned. What he DID find, was that the front brake pads were totally shot, and there would soon be metal to metal contact between the pads and the brake rotors, resulting in rotor damage. So, did Elliot have my daughter's van mixed up with someone else's vehicle, or is this a ripoff place? Also, my daughter had to pay a $143.00 fine for having an expired inspection sticker, because of the bogus results of Elliot's "inspection." Also, I had taken a vehicle to Elliot's for an oil and filter change, which they did. For the next oil and filter change, I took the vehicle to Walmart. The technician informed me that oil had been leaking from the filter, and that he had removed it with just his fingers...it had never been tightened! If you have any parts replaced at Elliot's, get someone to verify that The parts were ACTUALLY installed...don't just take their word for it!
