We've ( wife & I) many years. The food is excellent, be it a good loaded burger, or chicken piccata. I dropped to 4 stars only because, since SARS CoVid has increased everything. Hard working owners/staff. Wine/beer available. However last night, my wife made a mistake. Ordering Philly Cheese steak it had onions & peppers, mushrooms. The peppers and onions I cannot eat. I also usually put on grinder roll, not a wrap. But, prices have gone up a third time. We will limit how many times we can go. The tuna fish, is probably best I've had in my life. Whipped, no onions, garlic. In a grinder, wrap, or a take out tub this is the best. Daily soups are excellent. Cook is a bit heavy with salt, seasonings. I like their soups. I like this place a lot. What a cute find!! Definitely have to know where this place is, because even from the road it's hard to see. I was definitely surprised by the interior seating and restrooms. Recently remodeled- clean and modern, especially for a town pizza house. We came for simple dinner and ordered a small pizza and small salad. Staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient. There had just been a storm (power outages) so a lot of last minute phone orders - that the staff wasn't expecting. But they handled it very well. The kitchen did charge us extra for the 1/2 and 1/2 pizza on a small. But we didn't mind. We ordered a small 3 cheese with 1/2 veggie. Pizza was cooked well and good sauce. Definitely the best pizza house around. On the way out - we noticed the grinders another table had and they looked delicious!!! We looked at each other and said - we have to come back for those. lol. Basic pan pizza, very much the local pizza place When you think about small town pizza restaurants, you usually think of the cookie cutter formats. Tall dark booths, red and white checkered tile in one area and carpet on the dining side. Red cups for water and white dishes for food. The pizza is okay but it's the only place around and it's cheap, so you settle for basic and get yourself a pie. This is that place for Ellington. The staff I did interact with were very nice. We ordered online and our pizza was on top of the oven to keep warm. By the time I got it home I had to throw it in the oven to warm it up a little more. The toppings were present but sparse, the sauce was existent but not detectable easily. The cheese was not too greasy, and the crust was a generic pan pie crust. It was cooked through and crispy on the bottom, but very bready. As a pizza, it's the quintessential pizza coming from the quintessential pizza joint. You can't expect much from this style of place, but given its location it's not looking to be gourmet. It's going for the locals as a local pizza place, and it does that. The trouble being that pizza is very common for this area. I had to drive past 4 other restaurants that served pizza, and that's not even covering the amount of places that can deliver. Ellington Pizza has become my go to places for great, reasonably priced food. I am a fussy eater yet I have not had any bad experiences here. The food is fresh and individually prepared. The servings - even their luncheon servings - are more than enough satisfy and probably to bring home. I have always been served by Kim, a standout server. When she approaches your table you feel you are best friends within 3 minutes. She listens, knows the menu and is probably one of the friendliest, most competent servers you'll ever meet. The restaurant is sort of tucked in a corner but do not discount it and be sure to sit in Kim's section. You'll walk out satisfied with your meal and feeling you have a new best friend. read more

I happened to visit Ellington Pizza when a friend suggested to meet here for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised and glad we found this place. We had pizza for dinner and they make some delicious pizza. A small pizza was good for two people to share. The crust was very well done, lite and not overly doughy. They also offer beer and selected variety of wine as a part of their menu. They have a nice and friendly group of staff as well. I just love this cozy family-oriented restaurant. My favorites are the grilled chicken salad, which comes with a fresh homemade roll and you will need an extra bowl because it's fully stuffed in the container. Their chicken francaise and chicken marsala are delicious. And I LOVE their cheeseburger grinder. I've never had a bad meal there. And the staff is AMAZING! Very friendly and very personable. Zero stars.. place is complete crap. Didn't take our order correctly and then claimed it was our fault. Did nothing to help out. Once food was revealed at home it was obvious that this 6-8 person meal was maybe enough for 2 people and looked subpar. When returning the meal the owner/help? Was a complete lunatic and was disrespectful and combative. We got our refund of $80 for what was maybe $12 worth of food and left. We ordered pizza tonight and when we picked it up we saw there was a sign on the door requiring customers to wear masks. I was. However when I got inside, nobody working there was masked. I watched from the parking lot as an employee brought out a to-go order to give to a customer and had no mask on. When I explained to the cashier that I was uncomfortable taking the food and asked why workers were not wearing masks, as mandated by the state, she said, "I have a mask, it's over there," and then rolled my eyes when I asked why she wasn't wearing it. This restaurant was recommended to me by a co-worker. When I lived in Vernon I would pick up a pizza on my way home from here every now and then. However, I finally got a chance to dine in and I enjoyed my experience. The decor inside is really welcoming! I loved the yellow paint on the walls. Ellington pizza has Greek style pizza, which is extremely popular in this area. They make a good pizza. They only have two sizes though. Small which is 8 inches, and large which is 16. Unless if it's just for one person, you pretty much always have to order a large. I wish their sizes were a little different, plus if they had a medium it would be perfect. (for example, 10, 14 and 16) My hubby and I started off w/ an order of garlic bread with cheese. Nothing amazing, but nothing that had me thinking that I wouldn't get it again. Just standard garlic bread w/ cheese. It was really reasonably priced though! I believe it was only $2.50 for a small order. We each had ordered our own small pizza. I'm not a fan of onions, so whenever we each get our own, typically he'll order a pizza that has onions. He ordered the house special which has lots of toppings! (sausage, hamburger, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and roasted peppers) I made my own and added pepperoni and ricotta cheese. Everything is better with ricotta! So good! Staff was very friendly, and we always had everything that we needed. (extra napkins, refills, etc) This is not that far away from my mother in laws, so I know we will be back! read more

in trying to organize food for my daughters confirmation, we ran into several obstacles, not the least of which a company in the area that would have what we wanted ready for the time needed, as it was a little earlier than most would be able to accommodate. Not only did they come through on the timing here, but the food was excellent, and of more than fair quantity for the price. From the chicken parm, to couple different kinds of pasta, to 3 different types of boneless wings, and superb rolls too! well done, and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for excellent party sized food prep, at reasonable prices, with spot on timing. Just moved to town . Last night wanted to give it a try ! Ordered a whole Italian Combo. Lettuce , tomato , mayo .... toasted . Nothing extravagant . Picked up grinder . All that was on it was a few pieces of ham , a piece of cheese, and a slice or two of tomato . No salami. No pepperoni , no lettuce , and shoot not even hardly any ham ! I usually make it in to Ellington Pizza to pick up my grinder a couple times a month. I'm never disappointed! My favorite is ham and cheese, good portions of ham, tasty melty provalone, fresh lettuce and tomatoes... my mouth is watering just writing about it. I've grown up in the neighborhood, and Ellington Pizza was always a regular treat. They also make a great eggplant parm grinder, better than many others that I've tried elsewhere. While I almost always get a grinder here, I've got no complaints about the pizza. The pizza is not the best I've ever had, but it's definitely passable. Personally I think the sauce is a bit too sweet for my taste, but it's always well cooked with a crisp crust that has bite. I haven't experienced dining in recently, I always get my order to go... but considering that the owners are friendly, the staff polite, and the place clean and homey, I'd likely have no problem eating here if I didn't live 2 minutes down the road and prefer to eat at my own table. read more

We recently moved to Ellington and have ordered take out from Ellington Pizza over a dozen times in the last couple months. Their Gyro Platter is good value, served with a generous helping of fries and a fresh greek salad. The pizza is a traditional new-england greek pan pizza crust, cut into 16 pieces. In addition to the standard toppings, we've tried their specialty pizza with great success: The Red Bliss was perfect and their Buffalo Chicken pizza is amazing! Ask for some blue cheese dressing with the Buffalo Chicken pizza, you'll need it. My only complaint is that you need to double check your order every time you pick up. Some times its as simple as forgetting to give you the roll with your platter or giving you a regular salad instead of a greek salad. Tonight they gave me a BBQ Chicken Pizza instead of Buffalo. It was delicious and I ate it, but I was kinda bummed that it wasn't Buffalo. read more

We picked up grinders for dinner. There was an issue with the credit card machine so the cashier called for help and the owner came up front. She made attempts to fix the machine. The entire time her mask was well below her nose. After 5 minutes I finally asked her to please cover her nose. We finally checked out and the food was adequate. I won't go back.
