The food was great. I got the grilled chicken wrap and we got corn nuggets and cheese fries. However, my husband ordered the regular steak sandwich and I guess the waiter misheard him and brought him Dads steak sandwich and that was very thick and had a lot of fat on it. I've been here for brunch once - we had a reservation but probably didn't need it as there were many open tables. The waitress was very attentive and we got our food quickly. Group of 4 on a Sunday in early November. Made a reservation the morning of--though it might not have been necessary. To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to how busy it got as it didn't get loud enough to disrupt our conversation (which is a huge plus). The inside is so cute! They dimmed the lights when they brought out a sparkler birthday treat which made it feel very special. They have a great menu with lots of options from sweet to savory and an exquisite drink menu. I was staying at a local hotel and their restaurant was closed for breakfast. We decided to get Uber Eats and decided on this restaurant. To start with our breakfast had a long hair in it which was disgusting. The toast was burnt to a crisp, the bacon was burnt to a crisp and stuck together. My daughter got the big breakfast with 2 eggs over easy (there was no option for Sunny Side Up). They ended up sending her 4 eggs, I guess just including the ones that ended up being completely cooked through and were wrong? We ordered a mac and cheese which was terrible, pretty much just pasta with cheese melted on top, to add insult to injury they only offered a large mac and cheese and you had to select extra large for an additional $6 because there was no other option. The Belgium waffles could only be ordered without powdered sugar or without whipped cream. I requested without powdered sugar, because my daughter loves whipped cream, it came with neither. The waffles were very plain and undercooked. I sent a message regarding this to Uber Eats, but was only reimbursed for the Waffles. We wasted almost $130 on the worst breakfast I've ever had. I don't understand how a breakfast place could ruin breakfast so bad. I can't believe someone noticed how blackened the toast was and didn't think to throw it out and toast it correctly. read more

I always try something new alongside my go-to -- the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap -- because it's absolutely DIVINE. The Caesar dressing is incredibly fresh (I haven't asked, but I swear it has to be homemade!). Here's what we tried this time: Corn Nuggets - 9/10 Exactly what you'd want from a corn nugget! Fried to perfection with a soft, flavorful inside. The maple syrup on the side added a really nice sweet-savory balance. Penne Vodka - 8/10 One of the better penne vodka dishes I've had in a while. The flavor was spot on! I would have loved just a bit more sauce, but overall, delicious. Onion Rings - 10/10 PERFECTION. The batter was crispy, and the onion wasn't too thick or chewy like some places. These are easily the best I've had and are now going into my regular order. Mango Lemonade - Super refreshing and not overly sweet. A great drink to pair with any meal. The server we had was a very nice younger man and he was extremely attentive as well. Appetizer: The Firecracker Cauliflower lived up to our high expectations with just the right amount of heat to not overpower. Main Course: The wife had the Pulled Chicken Sandwich, which was a nice variation of teh pulled pork sandwich. The French Fries were on point. I had the Wok Seared Salmon. Nice sized portion and very tasty. Dessert: The Bread Pudding was spectacular and a very large portion. Highly recommend getting this if it is available (it was a special the day we were there). Going to brunch is always a gamble, and sometimes you strike out. Ellie's was a swing and a big miss for me. The place is cute, lots of kitschy details, literally decorated floor to ceiling. There is a little photo op with a blinding ring light for selfies. Strange table layout with no real flow to the restaurant meant the servers ended up wandering the gap in the middle of the room, a little over attentive with rehearsed speeches and catch phrases. The wafting, sickening smell of the cleaner they used to wipe down the tables had staying power. Even now, hours later I can conjure the cloyingly floral smell. When the food arrived, it looked like decent brunch food. Potatoes had good color and the servings were generous. But when I tell you that this food had no flavor... I mean none. This was some of the most unimaginative food I've had. As I poured salt on my eggs and dumped pepper on my potatoes just to coax a tiny bit of joy from them, I wondered "how do you mess up brunch this bad?" The only bright spot was the vegan sausage, which they do not make in house, and which, in fact, I have the exact brand at home in my freezer. Why would I pay such high prices to eat food I can make at home? So, now, the question remains, should you go here yourself? "Bowling ally food at Red Bank Prices" This is terrible. For starters, we waited "20" minutes for a table, which ended up being 45 minutes, when half the tables in the restaurant were open. The hostess was supposed to call us when our table was ready, but never did, and sat people in front of us. When we sat down, nobody came over to our table to help us. After half an hour of waiting for the waitress, we finally ordered, and waited another hour for the food. It was all simple stuff too, eggs and toast, etc. I ordered the $7 'Santa Hot Chocolate' which was made with water, and had no chocolate spoon as advertised. When asked about it, the waitress said "oh we ran out." So we were charged $7 for a 'special hot chocolate' with nothing special about it. We had to send eggs Benedict Florentine back because the eggs were hard boiled, which they should never be. When sent back the waitress asked how I wanted the eggs, which shouldn't have to be asked. The hollandaise sauce tasted like it was made from powder. The restaurant was freezing and everyone was dining in their coats. The french onion soup was just salty broth, in a huge bowl with dollops of melty cheese and soggy bread, should have been in a small bowl with a nice crust. On top of it all, the waitress was very rude when asked how long the food would be and very unhelpful. I will never eat here again. Beautiful interior! This place definitely reminds me of a restaurant a friend would send me on TikTok begging to try out simply based on how beautiful it looks. The service, however, was incredibly slow. Our server was sweet, but considering the restaurant was not very busy at all, there was no reason for her to wait until after we finished our food to bring the salt and tabasco we asked for at the beginning of the meal. I also always find it incredibly tasteless for a restaurant to serve an entire table their food and allow one person to wait another 10 minutes for theirs to arrive. The only reason I would consider coming back is because everyone at my table said their food was good. I ordered the Red Velvet Pancakes and absolutely do not recommend. Nothing about these pancakes were red velvet except for the color. I could taste how much red food dye had been added to the plain, buttermilk pancakes to pass them off as something special. We happened to be walking around and saw the cute cafe and decided to stop in to try it. Their menu has a great mix of breakfast/brunch/salads/sandwich options which was great for us. My husband was looking for breakfast foods and I wanted a hearty lunch. He got the Elli's Belly Buster sandwich and I got the steak sandwich. It was so tasty and definitely hit the spot. The interior decor is very cute and very Instagram-able, I can see this being a great venue to host a small birthday party, bridal shower, or baby shower.
