I decided to try something new for Easter dinner this year and take my family to an Easter buffet…read more I started the process late and many places'reservations were full, but we were able to book a reservation at The Garden Pavilion in north Fargo. We hadn't ever heard of it, but thought we'd give it a try. What a terrible mistake. The outside is ugly. It appears to be a steel industrial style building and has a sign with chipped, fading, and peeling paint. It's literally a stone's throw from the train tracks. We almost didn't go in. Inside was filled with mismatched tables situated too close together with vinyl table cloths with a tacky grape motif. The decor was what could generously be called eclectic. The service was adequate but not great. The food....was so bad we were to the point of laughing to keep our selves from crying that we had paid $18 per plate. Fatty, tasteless ham; greasy cod; flavorless vegetables; packaged mac and cheese; pastries that looked like they came from a package purchased at a c-store; omelets "made to order" that weren't cooked through. So, so, so bad. PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did. Go somewhere else or stay home and make your own meal. Anything would be better than this!

It's iconic. Located in the heart of downtown, don't skip on this experience. Offering both bar and table seating, the service is quick and the menu is darling. I would only come here for breakfast because it's served all day and I'm a brunch fanatic. Contrary, a lunch menu is offered and they are supposedly known for their salad bar and soup to which I saw a few tables ordering. I opted in for the breakfast sandwhich which was the right size for me. Many spots these days give way too much food and this was just enough. It even came with two hash brown triangles like the ones from middle school bringing back all the nostalgia. Zero crumbs were left. I will definitely return as I want to try some of the pancake and French toast options. Thank you, Marge's Diner, for being so accommodating and not trying to be anything fancy. I admire the theme, setup, service, decor and prices. Bravo!!!

The service was a bit underwhelming, but it seemed like they were operating with a limited staff, so that may have played a role. Overall, it's a charming diner with a classic atmosphere that's worth experiencing if you're looking for a taste of nostalgia.

Heather, Mary, Marie, Katie, Nathan, Cole - the list goes on of really nice people working here. Tho I travelled alone, I was never without a friendly face to give me directions, heads up, etc. Nice touch too, Wednesdays is a VSN - very special night. I'm not going to give it away, just make sure your stay includes a Wednesday. Great exercise room, free washer/dryer (bring your own suds), right across from the airport and the Fargo Air Museum. Did I mention North Dakota has 2.2% unemployment rate? Met a person from Rhode Island coming to work in the state. Also right next to the North Dakota State University campus. I was there on a game day and the enthusiasm of the NDSU folks rivals Broncos! Course, college versus pro is a factor. Healthy breakfasts (free) but check the hours - different during the week from the weekend, refrigerator, stove and microwave in the room with all the kitchen gadgets you'd need to cook a meal, really comfy bed (hate to say it's better than mine at home) and CLEAN! J.M. nailed it with the "small side" but as a smallish person, felt just right for me. Mark L really gave a thorough review and I'm not going to repeat all he said, suffice it to say we agree on all the amenities. Since I lost my cell phone after the 3rd day, the free computer in the business center was a real plus!

My only irk was the parking. It's very limited and tight. Hopefully, they are working on that, as they continue to renovate the hotel.

Located in the downtown district, this is a hopping area with many surrounding bars, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping spaces. Jasper Hotel is pet friendly which is a huge win!!! If you're seeking out pet friendly hotels, check this one out. It's certainly upscale, clean and lovely. The main level lobby has a pool table, comfy couch seating, chess board, books, plants, complimentary water station, clean bathrooms, Rosewild, bar, coffee stop, small snack area and gifts such as branded coffee mugs and umbrellas. Each time I have entered Jasper Hotel, the staff has been complimentary and kind. Had I not had an Air b n b, I would certainly consider Jasper Hotel considering I have two dogs. Bravo on accommodating dogs, Jasper. After all, they are part of the family too.

I loved the room, I had a King side bed and it was sooo comfortable! The bathroom was spacious and there was a cute little coffee bar, fridge, closet and work desk. Everything was out together really well and I loved how bright and airy the room was. I also really liked their fitness and sauna rooms. Like wow!! Most hotels don't invest in these things while Jasper Hotel did the opposite -- they invested heavy here and also chose top quality products. I wish I had that fitness room and sauna room at my house lol. The front desk staff were also really very kind and nice. I liked there was a bar/restaurant on the main floor right by check in too. And they had a pool table on the main floor too!! So much to do, the space was utilized perfectly. Fair pricing and so clean and airy. I'll be back when I'm in Fargo again.
