This is so much more than just a museum! The Cass County Historical Society has put together a fantastic complex of historical building on this gigantic site! Every building has its own story with several dedicated to specific displays. One building houses law enforcement memorabilia. Another is dedicated to firefighters, their apparatus & lifestyle. Some of the building were moved to the site from all over the area! My favorite by far that the airplane building. It's not got the most of the best displays but it's the only place I've ever been able to walk through a C-47!! We were there for four hours and didn't see it all. Well worth the price of admission. It's a must for anyone interested in the history of the Red River Valley.

Bonanzaville is the best way to get to know the past of the Red River Valley. Meandering around and through the historic buildings and seeing all the artifacts was amazing. They have a fantastic antique car collection. So worth the stop!

This was a fun place to explore. When I drove up there were not many cars there on a Wednesday afternoon so I wondered if it was open. It was. I bought the Passport for Fargo-Morehead ($8.00 for a number of attractions) so quite a deal. This is more like a museum of museums. There is a historic town, a larger museum, car museum, plane museum, phone museum, and more. It was fun and I spent about two and a half hours after having a fun time there.

As soon as I saw this place I knew I had to try it. Fun environment. Great for everyone…read more We sat in the bar area and our server was the nicest kid. Very friendly and super busy. Not sure if he had the whole bar area to tend to but he was busy. We went on a Wednesday and they have all you can eat "meat" for about $18. I didn't get that. I wouldn't be able to get my money's worth. The menu is huge and so many yummy sounding things. The note that all fried items are cooked in beef tallow. Wow. They also note that their ribs were, "judged America's best ribs at the National bar-b-Que convention cook-off in Memphis, Tennessee!" We were excited. My colleague ordered the all you can eat cause she wanted ribs. I had a 2 meat platter with brisket and ribs with two sides (salad and Mac and cheese). My mouth was watering for some food brisket. I must say I was very disappointed. The brisket was cut super thin and then appeared to be grilled to heat it up. Boy! It was very dried out. I could hardly eat it. The ribs were okay but I was expecting more. My colleague decided she was not going to have a second round of ribs and didn't finish the first ones. The salad was a salad and the Mac and cheese. . . I took to back to the hotel to eat later. The server asked how things were and we told him. He told me the cut and cook on the brisket depends on who's cooking it. Never heard that before. I had the Mac and cheese and the ribs the next day for dinner and boy! Those ribs tasted a lot better the next day and the Mac and cheese left me wanting more. If I'm in the area again I'll be back and hopefully have a better "meat" experience.

"I think I'm goin' back To the things I learned so well in…read moremy youth But thinking young and growing older is no sin And I can play the game of life to win" (The Byrds) Two weeks ago, I wrote that Muhammad Ali was a childhood idol of mine when I landed in and wrote about the Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville. Roger Maris was another childhood idol of mine, and today I visited a museum dedicated to his memory in his hometown of Fargo, North Dakota. Who was Roger Maris? If you grew up in New York City in the 1960's (like I did), or if you are a baseball fan, you would surely be familiar with the legendary New York Yankee outfielder. Decades before steroids and PED's polluted the baseball record books, Roger surpassed Babe Ruth's 60 home runs and smacked 61 in 1961, setting a new single season record. He, and those legendary Yankee teams of the 60's were all childhood heroes of mine. What a beautiful nostalgic visit I had revisiting my memories of the 1961 season - looking at the photos, newspaper headlines, seeing his 1961 baseball card, seeing his Yankee Stadium plaque from Memorial Park, listening to Howard Cosell's eulogy, and sitting in real Yankee Stadium chairs watching a highlight film were fantastic.

Accessible whenever the mall is open and it's completely free. Who doesn't know the story of Roger…read moreMaris, who broke Babe Ruth's home run record in 1961? This museum is on one of the hallways in the West Acres Mall and includes a small seating area (with baseball stadium seats from Yankee Stadium) and a looped video. Maris a native of Hibbing Minnesota, was all class and only agreed to have this museum available if there was no charge as he did not feel it was right to capitalize on his success. So this was built in 1984 and remodeled in 2003. Viewing the memorabilia and watching the films is perhaps a half hour. Worth checking it out for any baseball fan.
