She does not understand the gravity of giving weight loss shots to someone with an eating disorder. A year ago her nurse practitioner and Dr. Salada herself offered me wegovy, even giving me, free samples. I've had an eating disorder for almost 30 years. I had been seeing them for at least 7-8 years and they knew my history. I walked into the office for symptoms related to malnutrition, dehydration, and decades of purging only to be given a free sample of wegovy because I "look obese" and they "wanted to help me reach my goals" and if I lost weight I "wouldn't need my eating disorder" anymore. 3 months later, I'm on bedrest for over a month because I can barely walk due to the symptoms I originial came there for the first time they offered me the wegovy. Additionally, years earlier Dr. Salada diagnosed me with hypothyroidism, gave me a prescription to treat it, did not explain how to take it, and never mentioned it again. No monitoring and no dosage adjustments. She probably didn't even realize I was taking it, given how many diagnoses were in my record that I was never told about. A year ago my TSH level was 1/8th of the level it should have been. Now, as a result of such huge mistakes on her part, I question whether I ever had hypothyroidism to begin with. What do you do when you don't know if you were accidentally given the wrong diagnosis, specifically one that has life long consequences on your hormones? I will end this by saying that when I transferred to a new doctor they refused to send my records electronically. They printed out 7-8 years worth of medical records and had me hand deliver them to my new doctor. When I asked why they couldn't send the records electronically the person at the front desk told me that they "didn't have those apps." read more

I really wanted to like this MD because I'm so incredibly sick of looking for a competent MD who is helpful with my mother, (Alzheimer's disease) but I'll be leaving her after today. My mother was having a lot of UTI issues today (a Saturday) so I called in and got a call back that was super vague and unhelpful. I felt like she was more annoyed with being contacted on a Saturday. She brushed it off and said just go to the ER if I felt stressed about her worsening symptoms. I ended up getting more help from my sister who is a physical therapist. In addition to some practical advice my sister alerted me that Bactrim and Methenamine maybe shouldn't be taken together. I called back to just ensure the MD had an updated list of my mother's medication and now the MD has gone silent. If she had called me back we could have discussed other UTI meds (if necessary) and I could go to a pharmacy and pick it up. Instead I may now actually have to go to an ER so I don't inconvenience this shitty doctor. Just avoid her if you're a caretaker. She pretends to be caring at first but when you really need her she won't be anywhere around. She's completely phony. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Salada's since 2006 and she is one of my favorite, most caring doctors I have ever encountered. She spends the time to listen to my concerns, address my issues and is very thorough. I never feel like she schedules excessive tests. We moved out of state in 2017 and until covid, I would fly out every 6 months for my appointments. I am sad to say goodbye to her as a doctor and a person. Dr. Salada is one of the best! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Salada's since 1997 when she was relatively new to Palomar Medical Group in Escondido. Growing up in a medical family, I knew what made a physician great & what made them mediocre. She takes the time to listen, answers questions, makes all the necessary referrals and is truly an exceptional caregiver. She does the best she can do for you under the constraints of "managed care" and jumps through hoops to get the care you deserve. I would highly recommend her as a primary care physician. read more

The private office feeling has gone away since Dr.Salada no longer sees her patients . If you go you will be seeing by one of her nurses in training. I had a bad experience with her nurse Fiona Wariuki when she had no clue about my past history. I feel that selecting a doctor is very important and they shouldn't pass you along to nurses in training that can't read a chart before calling. read more

I showed up for appointment that took a rescheduling by her office and months to get, only to be told they no longer accept my insurance. It was their error, they only sent me a letter stating they wanted me to make an appointment. If I had no showed, they would have charged me!! Their error has now cost me another 2 months of waiting to be seen by someone else. I am in pain and in need and only schedule an appointment if absolutely necessary. My insurance has always paid her as have I. She should have seen me today and allowed me time to find another doctor. Obviously she thinks her time is more valuable than her patients. At leat the office was honest in their error, but...I was Dr Salada's patient. This is how she treats you even with years of going to her office and being ontime with payments. read more

Let me start by saying that I have been a patient of Dr. Saladas for a while, never had an issue. So this review is for my most recent experience. To begin, I had to go to the lab 3 times because they kept putting the order in wrong, even after I confirmed multiple times that it was done and sent to correct location. A new system shouldn't be an excuse for me having to drive back and forth. Regarding the office visit, I saw NP Kellie Levites. The first thing I said to her was " my anxiety has been high due to everything" wanting to apologize if I'm allover the place. Expecting her to say that's understandable. But she said " that's for YOU to fix, not me. I'm medical" As a primary care provider that actually IS your scope of practice...I felt so uncomfortable. And with that knowledge you would expect the provider to get your results out of the way but she waited until the end of an hour long visit. When I asked her a question, she responded with "WRONG". Not only was it unprofessional but also I have years of experience with different providers in this same field who say otherwise. She seems to be very old school. The issue with that is life is nothing but constant change, sticking to old ways and old views aren't useful. Everything she said was condescending and showing awful bedside manner. read more

My employer's insurance plans changed and suddenly my long time doctor was no longer in my network so I reluctantly made the switch to a new doctor. Well I could not be happier how things worked out for me with Dr. Salada's office. The office staff is great and the environment very comfortable. I am so happy with this office. I moved here 3 yrs ago and luckily found them. I have been seen by Dr. Salada, who is extremely competent. I am now a patient of Fiona Frank, NP with the office, who is currently my choice to be my Primary Care Practitioner. I am very grateful for her care and the many times she has helped me when the going was rough. She is amazing. Everyone in the office is compassionate, knowledgeable and completely on top of my medical file. My health care needs are very involved. I am 75 yrs old, so I've seen a doctor, or two in my lifetime. All of my calls are returned quickly, especially through my personal portal. I feel so cared for every time I go there to be seen. That's worth a million, and darned hard to find. read more

This is 2018. Current review. Worst doctor EVER. Compounded a patient's broken vertebrae by referral to physical therapy WITHOUT AN X-RAY. License should be suspended. Told patient she was in immediate danger of dying without taking REPEAT tests, ($34,000 worth) yet did not even submit necessary forms for hospital admittance. Patient had to wait 3+ hours in emergency room as instructed. Missed dinner. Not a "caring, honest" way to treat a 90+ patient. Run, don't walk, away from her incompetency. I wish I could recommend this doctor to Poway/Rancho Bernardo residents. She is not honest, does not take time to answer your questions, does not care if you have health insurance or not and orders tests that are not needed just to prove that she is doing something for you. She does not answers your phone calls either. Just do not bother with her. :( read more

I can not give this office 10 stars or I would. I have seen Tara for over 3 years and WOW. Great service, very caring, honest. Every time I have injured myself they send in a referral as quick as possible ( have had 2 knee surgeries, and shoulder surgery) I am not one that likes to see the Dr and this office has really been a pleasure and does everything to calm your nerves. Staff is not very friendly but they are uncommunicative. Not a good combination. I have been a patient of Dr. Salada for over a year and I have yet to met her. This office has failed on following up on a colon exam (not something you want to schedule in the first place) four (4) times now. And now its been two failures on a Urologist referral (and two kidney stones later, still nothing). Not organized and it shows. read more
