When you find a business that values its customers, you stay loyal and continue to patronize it, even at your own expense. Despite now living four hours away, I return to Elizabeth Anthony every month, as owner Elizabeth is the only one I trust with my hair.
I found the salon at least eight years ago. Back then, Elizabeth worked mostly alone in a small shop in a questionable part of town. She was a great stylist then, today she is an exceptional one. I have watched over the years as she continued to educate herself, learning new skills and techniques, seeking out prominent industry certifications, keeping abreast of the latest trends in beauty, styling hair for fashion shows and passing on her knowledge to up and coming stylists.
Her salon has grown exponentially, as she has relocated, expanded, added more stylists and services. Still, Elizabeth Anthony remains true to its customers. Stylists' smiles and cheery dispositions are ever-present. Despite increasing demands on her time, attention and energy, Elizabeth always takes the time to listen to what customers want and does everything in her power to achieve it. The salon's sole purpose is to make each and every customer feel beautiful--and they do.
When I moved to DC, I thought I could find a new salon closer to home. I learned that Elizabeth is not replaceable. The two times I have allowed others to color and cut my hair, I found myself anxiously waiting until it grew out. Elizabeth gets the color exact every time. She knows when I say "cut" I only mean a "dusting", even if it means one strand is a little longer than the one next to it. And if I ask for something that she simply knows won't work for me, she gently steers me to something that will work.
In addition to hair care, Elizabeth Anthony also offers makeup application, nail treatments and waxing (though I've only ever tried the latter.) She welcomes men, kids, brides and prom goers. I have referred many people there and will continue to do so. See you next month, Liz. read more
