Founder H. Joseph Ehrmann, a true pioneer in the recent resurgence of cocktail culture, personally trains and hires everyone that touches your event. History
Established in 2003.
Elixir To Go evolved slowly since 2003 when world-renowned barman H. Joseph Ehrmann, opened his pioneering cocktail bar, Elixir. He started by catering events for friends and customers. In 2007, he began large event production by creating San Francisco Cocktail Week, a citywide, week-long festival with numerous, creative, cocktail-centric parties. That led to him opening an event venue called The Boothby Center for the Beverage Arts in 2009. Operating under the name of his consulting company, Cocktail Ambassadors, he offered cocktail classes to the public. All Elixir catering and events were also produced from the facility, but after 5 years of great cocktail parties and classes there, Ehrmann consolidated all event business under the name Elixir To Go and moved operations back to a newly built event production facility and classroom within Elixir. Whether you find Elixir, Cocktail Ambassadors, or The Boothby Center, it was/is all us, and from now on we are known as Elixir To Go!
Meet the Business Owner: H. Joseph E.
H. cooked, served, managed and bartended in 18 bars and restaurants around the country before opening Elixir in 2003. He owns and operates the second oldest continually-operating saloons in San Francisco, Elixir, which has won numerous accolades including multiple "Best Bars in America" listings in national media outlets, and most recently, "Top 40 Whisky Bars in America". His personal accolades include 2009 Rising Star and 2010 Bartender of the Year Awards. H's consultancy business, Cocktail Ambassadors, serves clients in product and brand development and trade (bartender) education. He's one of under 100 certified Cognac educators in the world, the West Coast educator for the rum producers of the independent nations of the Caribbean, and judge in some of the top spirits competitions in the world. Some other roles include Brand Ambassador for Square One Organic Spirits, National Ambassador of The United States Bartenders Guild, and member of the Chef's Council for CCD Innovation.
