Delicious cocktail made at home.
Gary Y.

Participated as the +1 to a virtual cocktail making session and I can say it was a great experience given these challenging times. Our bartender-instructor Nora was a great host and ensured everyone had a great time. It also made us realize that it's been a long time since we had a cocktail with the bars being closed. Now that we got a cocktail making kit, that's a problem of the past. Thanks cocktail camp!

I have been searching for a good bartending school since last year, and was pleased to discover The Cocktail Camp couple months back on yelp. Prior to The Cocktail Camp, I had a little to no knowledge about spirits and cocktails, let alone bartending. Also I finally learned to appreciate the process and history of making spirits. Even if you are not planning to be a bartender, I think it's a great skill and knowledge to have. Don't be that guy or a girl who orders the same thing over and over again at a bar because you don't know any better. Rohini is the perfect teacher, and her story about how she started bartending back in the day still cracks me up. You learn a great deal about set up of a bar, about the spirits, tips and techniques of bartending, and customer service etc. My favorite part about the course was that you get lots of hands on experience to sharpen your skills as a bartender. I, once, impressed a SF bar owner with my pouring and stirring skills. Another favorite part is that you meet a lot of interesting people with diverse backgrounds and knowledge! Definitely do the apprenticeship program, it is sort of a different feel, when you actually deal with a customer, making drinks with real spirits and tasting what you created. You will also notice that you would be way ahead of bartenders who just started as a barback and became a bartender without any training. Your technique makes you look sexier than those folks in those cocktail bars. The key to success here is to keep practicing! It's not about memorizing hundreds of recipes; it's about building a foundation to work anywhere as a bartender. Definitely recommended!

Yay. We did it!

How does one give a Yelp review about an institution or experience that is of the highest caliber? Simply said, it is worth every minute of your time and every penny well spent. You should not just take my word for it. You should experience the school and it's exceptionally dedicated instructors first hand. I guarantee you it will enhance your life. In my opinion, The Cocktail Camp is a top quality 21st Century bartending institution built around a global community of creative, passionate and experienced instructors; fun-loving and zestful students; and a learning environment that promotes the true sense of crafting masterful cocktails. Founder/Camp Director, Rohini; course professor, Pam; and bar star/mentor, Daniel; deserve all the accolades and acknowledgements given by their students, peers and industry professionals. They are truly inspirational and positively infectious. They make the experience so awesome that it leaves you wanting more. Aside from a great curriculum, you get to keep your own tool kit along with a very nice custom made TCC carrier. You also get to learn, sip and compare an array of the top shelf liqueurs in the marketplace. The kit and tastings are value-added components to an already stellar program. Lastly, I live in San Jose and although, there are several bartending schools in the South Bay and Peninsula; I'm thrilled that I opted for The Cocktail Camp. The trek to class everyday for a week and the apprenticeship program with Daniel Hyatt are well worth the time and miles. I'm proud to say that I graduated from TCC. Thank you Rohini and Pam for being so amazing and truly committed to your students! I already miss you both.

So excited to be able to make such beautiful cocktails!

I had an amazing experience attending the cocktail camp and was inspired to write a review! Ro, Jarrod and Daniel were wonderful instructors. Their knowledge and expertise, along with the bartending toolkit they provided, helped me acquire the exact skills was seeking. To top it off, their job placement assistance program helped me land a job within a month after I completed the course! My friend took a course at another place and she didn't learn anything. All they did was practice making 100 recipes that she could have just looked up on Google. She is still looking for a job. Two thumbs up! Don't look further if you are looking for the absolute BEST bartending school!

Team was super communicative and tailored to our event needs. We didn't end up using them as we had to pivot our team idea.

I was very nervous at my first class , but Jeremy made everyone feel comfortable and I learned so much. After two Saturdays and two Sundays 10:00 am -3pm , I feel confident to make so many different cocktails for my friends and open up a bar! I learned a lot about the different types of alcohol, from Whiskey to Vodka to Fernet and more. Jeremy even gives lot of history behind the drinks. I can say now that I can make Old Fashions ( modern AND classic), Manhattans, Cosmopolitans, Martinis Dirty or Dry , Mojitos and more!! If you are looking to learn how to make cocktails for fun for your friends or to get into the industry of opening a bar, this is THE course to take. What's advertised: * A structured, beginner-friendly bartending course *Professional environment *Hands-on training with proper materials *Certification upon completion What I actually experienced: The class was held inside a storage unit. Not a bar. Not a classroom. A storage room (see photos). The environment was dirty and unprofessional, and one of the juices provided had visible mold, which is completely unacceptable for anything involving food or beverages. Several basic ingredients (like cranberry and orange juice) were missing, so we were told to substitute with whatever was available. The class was supposed to run from 7pm-11pm but ended early around 10:20pm, and there was no legitimate certification test, despite that being advertised. Most of the time was spent casually making drinks with very little structured instruction. This did not feel like a real training course. It gets worse: Photos taken during the class were later edited with what appears to be an AI-generated bar background to make it look like students are learning in a professional bar setting. That is NOT what the actual environment looks like. On top of that, the certificate I received was issued with an incorrect date from a previous year, which raises concerns about the legitimacy of the certification itself. To be clear, the instructor was kind but the overall experience does not reflect a $440 professional program in any way. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision before spending their money.
