After being conditioned to expect mediocre service, lots of stress, and high prices from Apple, I truly panicked when my trackpad stopped working in the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak. Excellent service. You are given a free consultation on your computer first and then you can decide if you want it fixed or not. EMT are very honest and will tell you if they don't think the repairs are worth it. I took in 2 laptops and a desktop. With both laptops, the logic boards were defective. Emily was great in letting me know that on one of the laptops, the logic board was repairable but it wasn't worth it due to the age of the computer. The other laptop logic board was fixed at a reasonable price and FAST! My desktop computer system was updated for only $75 and now it works amazingly (prior to that it took 30 min to open a Google window). I highly recommend this place if you need repairs! They also got another old computer of mine to turn on (it wasn't working at all) for about $129. So reasonable prices and they are really fast so you shouldn't be without your computer for very long. read more

I never write reviews, but had to after my 2011 MacBook Pro crashed and I was afraid all my photos would be lost. They diagnosed my computer within an hour and sent me a detailed email re the issue, which was a defective graphics chip. They informed me this is common and people are pressuring Apple to issue a recall. They advised me it would be cheaper to bring it to Apple to repair - wow!!! In the end, I had them back up my computer and purchased an external hard drive through them for $125 - a pricey lesson for my own laziness - lol! It was SO worth the hour drive to bring my laptop to the Valley - and they charge a very reasonable $10 to ship - which is more than worth it to avoid the awful traffic on the 101. They log everything they do to your computer and communicate this via email, were extremely friendly and responsive to my phone calls, and very professional! So much better than Best Buy Geek Squad...Very pleased!! read more

Will Garroutte saved my ass. I had something fail on my MBP and was out of town on business. The local authorized mac guy there (Palm Springs) wanted to wipe my system and do a complete reinstall. Instead, I Fedex'd my computer to Elite and they quickly fixed the issue without any data lose nor having to completely reinstall any software. They've also done helpful upgrades to other machines over the years (e.g. installed a SSD) and given me good advice on troubleshooting issues. read more

I'm so happy I trusted the Yelp reviews I read about this place! The service was quick, easy, and nothing short of fantastic! I am absolutely clueless when it comes to fixing any computer issue. Something was up with my internet connection on my MacBook Pro and I took it into EliteMac Techs after finding them online. Within a day, I got an email telling me they had fixed the issue. When I went in to pick it up, I thought I was going to have to pay at least $100-150. They didn't charge me a cent! They told me that the airport cable was loose and that it took them less than a minute to fix it (they also don't charge for an initial diagnosis). I was really surprised at how honest they were! Being totally ignorant about these issues, I would have paid if they charged me a fee. This is an A-plus place to go for MacBook Pro issues. First off, I would identify myself as having a pretty low comprehension of computer tech, so I sent Nathan an email solely because of his Yelp reviews. He wrote back within 10 minutes to let me know how he could handle my malware problem and what the cost would be. I took my MacBook in a couple days later and he told me exactly when it would be ready...and it was. I was very impressed by the way he does business, from taking information, keeping you updated by text and email and his in-person way of explaining what work he did. He even uploaded a free malware scanner for me that should take care of 95% of what was bogging down my computer. Come on! With my tech knowledge, he could have up-sold me something that benefited him. He didn't. I very much appreciate when business owners have this kind of integrity. Happy customer. I spilled probably about a cup of coffee on my mac book pro:/ eek! I had it off for about a day and a half and my IT guy took it apart to try to clean it. Shortly after I turned it back on however, the keys started acting up and then wouldn't turn back on. I took it into the mac store AND melrose mac who each quoted me a flat rate of $1400 to fix it. FOUR DAYS LATER, after I had dropped it off for the diagnostic, they called and claimed that I had a tier 4 spill which was the highest tier of damage and would require that I get a new motherboard, keyboard AND screen (for whatever reason- the liquid never touched the screen.) My dad found this place online and I figured I'd give it a shot. I am SO happy I did. They ran a diagnostic but as part of that service, they also cleaned any water damage- a service the other places did not offer nor bother to try. I dropped it off at 3pm and by 5pm I got an email saying that after the cleaning and diagnosis, they said all I would require was a new keyboard at the low price of $200. It was ready by 11am the next morning- Less than 24 hours after I had dropped it off!!! They saved me over $1200. Brought my VERY old macbook pro in for a SSD upgrade and data migration. I called one other company for a quote and they were $50 more expensive than EMT. EMT also put in a new battery (I bought the batt separately) at no cost. Every time I called, the person who answered was friendly and knowledgable. I had my screen repaired by them back in January, and it's now become completely buggy and worthless. They have a 90 day warranty, and it's been 116 days, so I'm out $500 and now have a rather expensive paperweight that I'd much rather put into a woodchipper than pay to have fixed again.
