I'm a repeat customer. Scheduled my appointment for 4-5 months after my last cleaning and 3 months…read morean emergency fix early January. I was happy with the service at that point. At that point, I thought I confirmed the appointment twice. However, today when I arrived, the receptionist told me my appointment was cancelled my appointment without warning, quoting that I didn't respond to her by 3:42PM and as so she went ahead and cancelled it. No where in the prior messages did it say the appointment was at risk to be cancelled if I did not reply to the text message. Nor was this the case at the beginning of the year or during the last cleaning. I drove 20 minutes each way and took PTO attend. What's worse is when I tried to highlight the above point as constructive feedback, the representative did not want to read her messages and admit to the failure in communicating the risk of cancelling the appointment if I don't respond to the text message. I've had a least 100 doctor appointments over the last 5 years. I usually schedule them months if not a year in advance. Not a single doctor has ever canceled because I never responded to a text message. As I was trying to explain that there is no indication in her communications that there was a risk of cancellation until after she cancelled the appointment, the receptionist then continued to interrupt me continuously. I couldn't complete a full sentence without being interrupted. Not only the behavior of this individual was unprofessional and quite frankly, unacceptable, I'm more concerned about arbitrary policy that she referred to as started in 2026 where they will cancel appointments if you don't confirm. This shows that this was not an isolated incident, but rather a poorly communicated and executed policy that reflect poorly on the owners. When I asked to talk to the doctor/owner, I was told the doctor left for the day. This is concerning because had the appointment went ahead as planned, I would have to come back another day for the second half of the appointment. Outside of the obvious scheduling policy issue above, not having a doctor/dentist for an appointment defeats the purpose of the dental appointment altogether. At the end of the day, I'm not happy with the outcome here with this office. At the current moment, I don't know who I can't trust at this ultra smile brand. Is it the receptionist, the owner or the brand that I need to attribute this new found loss of trust. If you are a working professional, you may want to consider other professional options.

I would not recommend South Dental Midtown, as my experience here was disappointing in comparison…read moreto other dental visits I've had throughout my life at other offices. They offer online booking conveniently through their website, however there was scheduling conflict, and the receptionist called me the day before the appointment requesting to change the time. No problem. Once I arrived, I waited to be seen in the waiting room for over a half hour after completing my paperwork. The dentist came and inspected my teeth after the x-rays were taken, but before the actual cleaning. He took 5 seconds to look at my mouth, and told me that I had three cavities. I have never had a cavity in my life. I also had a cleaning at a different office 6 months ago and there was absolutely no discussion of cavities. This was a huge red flag. He then proceeded to lead back out to the front, and I had to ask him if a cleaning was included in my visit because that service had not been performed yet. So he led me back to the chair, and this cleaning was the absolute worst I have experienced. It was painful, and completely rushed. I have never, ever had a complaint about a dentist before. My teeth did not feel clean once so ever when I finally left. So I really was unhappy leaving, and I wanted to get a second opinion from a different dentist about this cavity issue. I needed to email my X-Rays from South Dental to the new place, and it was such a headache to acquire these digital photos. Their email attachments were not coming through, I was constantly having to call the office to check the status of this email being sent to me. I had my lifelong orthodontist take a second look at my teeth and X-rays and he told me that I did not have any cavities. As far as I'm concerned south dental tried over-treating me for something I did not have and I'm considering if I should report to the BBB. Very disappointing, as I really had high hopes and was looking forward to having a quality dentist in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this office.

She fixed 2 cavities, and 3 chipped teeth that were bothering me cosmetically. All excellent work. Also, she is very good with the needle. In the past, needles were the worst part, but she is very good without causing any pain at all. I barely felt them go in. Only front top teeth with the hard gum line was a little painful, but that is to be expected. So if you are afraid of needles, don't be if you come here! She is also very personable and a joy to talk with. Answering all your questions, and genuinely seems she truly cares and enjoys her work. I returned 2 more times to finish the work and then also to get a cleaning. Her staff is very nice, warm, and friendly. From appointment, to xrays, to cleaning tech, to everyone I met. Overall, a great experience and I will return in a few weeks for my check up. Finally found a great dentist in South Beach!

I tried making an appointment with this Dentist Office as I saw the reviews were great, however I…read morethink these reviews or at least half are a sham. Prior to making the appointment, Jinelle - not sure if she's an assistant - advised me that I had to change my insurance primary doctor's name to this office so that I can have an appointment there. I followed her instructions, but it was going to take one month to apply (mind you, I needed this appointment sooner than later as I was paranoid about something with my teeth. Finally, one month later I asked Jinelle to help me schedule an appointment where she then told me that they do not take my insurance AT ALL. This came as a shock to me because I would think she would've done me the courtesy to let me know this ONE MONTH PRIOR, during our first initial contact. Supposedly it took affect this month, but I'm sure they knew beforehand this would be the case and were ever so CARELESS to say anything. Unfortunately, I've learned there's not a lot of courtesy or empathy with patients or potential ones from doctors or nurses these days. Which is unfortunate because it's the one main career path that should have it! But I guess all of you are the same, no matter how many good reviews you have. it's a true SHAME. Now, I have to wait another month to change my primary dentist to another dentist before I can finally check my teeth. Added two screenshots from my conversation with Jinelle to show you what lack of empathy is.... Also, let people make appointments via email... it's 2020 after all. (my insurance is METLIFE, in case you have it.. I'll spare you the time and inconsideracy) --- To the response below... it was only after I said I'd write a review on my experience with the office was when I finally got a considerate response to the initial cold/short responses I was getting seeing as they left me waiting an entire month to book an appointment only to let me know that all of a sudden they don't have my insurance and all the wait was for nothing. It was only after I said I was planning to write a review is when they seemed to care about the situation and offered to see me. I have really high values, I don't like giving bad reviews unless I honestly really think there's something wrong morally or there might be something a business can learn for future/potential clients. I did not have an in office visit, but I'm glad I didn't make this my dentist office seeing as how cold and unresponsive I was treated. My initial dentist that does not take my new insurance offered to see me either way without me even having to ask, seeing as how they knew I needed an appointment and they wanted to help as much as they can!! I didn't have to be assertive, I didn't have to ask, I didn't have to say anything about reviews.... they simply offered their services and tried to help me either way. I obviously wanted to find an alternative dentist that did take My insurance which is why I had to look elsewhere. But you should offer solutions to patients or be more caring when there is no solution - ESPECIALLY when they are following the instructions YOU initially gave them in the first place as per the writing above. Just a thought!
