Tune was rich according to my new tuner from their baseline. Landon, the tuner, does not know what he is doing. Was told come back in 500 miles for an ethanol tune. Don't know why. Meth kit - has no leaks works fine, wired to a fuse that has power even when car is off. Drains battery if not turned off with the car. Front splitter was missing bolts even with hardware provided only hanging on from canards. Splitter was flapping at 100+; destroyed my $1,100 splitter and $250 front grill. Was told my front accessory drive bolts were loose - they were not I torqued to spec. They proceeded to hit all the bolts with an impact, breaking my AC compressor bolt which the belt pulled the AC line towards my header. Cost $1,300 to take to another shop to get fixed. Crank seal was replaced with incorrect crank seal for the Innovators West Balancer. Which then leaked oil under boost / left a puddle of oil under the car when turned off. Do not take your performance car here. I have other friends in the car industry that have been screwed over by these guys. read more

My husband brought our 1999 Pontiac Trans Am in to get it tuned. Mike was the best, he kept my husband included in all aspects of the tune. Mike treated my Trans Am with kid gloves and made sure car was tuned and drivable. He even replaced the 02 sensors for our car to run even better. I've taken several Corvettes to Elite Speed & Performance and they have always sorted things out for me. A few years ago, I brought a 2003 Anniversary Edition Corvette that I picked up from an estate sale which had a bad second gear. After exploring a few options, I decide to have them source a re-manned transmission with a 1 year warranty and had ESP install it. We had to make a minor adjustment to the shifter to slip into gear better but it only took Mike a matter of minutes to do it. The car drove great for almost 2 years until I sold it. They're price was completeyl reasonable, and without question, saved me a lot money by not having to go to the dealer (and arguably, they have more day to day experience with Corvettes anyway). Anytime I have a Corvette specific problem, I will be absolutely sure to talk to these guys, they're awesome! Highly recommend them! read more

Want an opinion? Okkaayyy.. 2 years. 2 years I was dragged through a court case with this so called "performance shop". Not only are Landon and Mike SHIESTY business owners - but they don't have a clue on how to build. Or at least they're "builder" doesn't. These guys(Elite and B's Machine Shop) decided to not clearance for my oil squirter tubes and let the piston come down and break off not 1 or 2, but 6 OF 8!! In a brand new engine, and give me my Gen 5 ZL1 back like that. One then got caught in between my cam and lifter and ground it down completely FLAT, causing cam and engine failure. I took it to another shop, had it diagnosed, pics taken, statements from them showing what they found. Besides the oil squiters tubes being broken, they also didn't deck the block("they" being Elite and B's Machine Shop) which would've caused head gasket problems. Also found that one of the timing gear bolts were never tightened and the crank was off balance by 150 grams on one side and 153 on the other(Thanks B's Machine Shop!!! GREAT JOB). Elite couldn't find an oil leak for 2 months, didn't tighten up the alternator nut where the battery wire ties in and caused all kinds of melting to the stud of the alternator, antifreeze lines popping off, left me on the side of the road 3 times and then.....THEY DENY ALL ALLEGATIONS. I hope they sleep well at night KNOWING that deep down inside all they did was steal money from a paying customer and then literally told me to "Get F$%÷ED with my POS car". But they won the court case by hiring a shiesty lawyer who found every nook and cranny within the crevices to get it dismissed. It's okay though, my witnesses WILL BE at the appeal. Oh yeah....I AM appealing this, because business owners like this, who are in the business of taking peoples money and never making it right, shouldn't even be in business. Even if I WOULD HAVE won the judgement, I would have never expected either of them to actually pay me. This isn't a performance shop - it's a jiffy lube that changes parts and takes people's money. Buyer beware. I wasn't allowed to show the pics in court, which was absolutely awesome, but I sure CAN show them here. Here's some internal engine work....good luck. Just recently purchased my first muscle car and the first shop that was recommended to me was Elite Speed and Performance. Having spent an hour or so there I now see why. The guys there are not only knowledgeable about GM motors, but automotive performance across most auto-makers in general. They were able to assess the power potential of my new vehicle while accurately giving me an idea of what I was currently working with after I received misinformation from the dealership in which I purchased the car. I cannot recommend them enough for tuning, performance, maintenance or even a dyno so you can get an accurate read-out of the power your car is making. read more

I have heard good things about Elite Speed and Performance through a few acquaintances and decided to check them out for to get another performance mod installed, which was a flex fuel with e85 tune. After meeting Landon and Mike and having a nice chit chat with them about mods I have already had done to the car, I made known that my goal was to make right at 700 rwhp. I expressed that my thoughts were that I should be able to with no problem after my previous engine internal upgrades, but I fell short and was about to hit 678 rwhp. So coming to them for a a flex fuel install and e85 tune I felt that would get me to my goal. They told me to hold off on wanting to get the flex fuel installed and they can get me to the 700 rwhp I wanted just on pump gas. They said just needed 3 days for tuning and for drivability and reliable testing. After those 3 days and boom! I was about to get me to 735 rwhp. Exceed my expectations. My current tune wasn't bad, but it needed a few tweaks for improvement and ESP was able to do that. Landon and Mike both know these LT engines and knows performance. I will be back to get my headers wrapped to help reduce some of the heat under the hood. And I still might get them to install a flex fuel sensor and tune for e85 to get some more horsepower. Can never get enough horsepower from what I'm told. Lol! Oh, and these guys helped improved my drivability as well. Since the bigger cam upgrade on my '17 Whippled Camaro SS, drivability has been a little "off" but not to an annoyance. ESP has also fixed that. Drives like stock, but when hitting it, it feels like a beast! read more

After some detective work I discovered it was Elite speed that had performed the work. TLDR: Mike and Landon are a great team; Exceptional attention to detail, knowledge, judgement, workmanship and bottom line value. The complete story... 18K miles ago I had a camshaft installed by a shop in Indianapolis(2008, M6 Corvette, 28K miles). From the beginning the install seemed off (valvetrain noise didnt seem right, big cam is more noisy, sure, but there was a pronounced clacking). This was confirmed (to me anyway) with erratic oil pressure. Then, upon changing the oil a week after the first install, the magnetic drain plug had way too much metal on it, and after the change I had no oil pressure. Something was definitely wrong. Well, the mechanic in Indy said the oil pump was the problem and he would change the oil pump...right (I was skeptical). Well, probably just by luck, the car seemed fine for 18K miles, it was getting good oil reports from Blackstone labs, but there was still that clacking. Now, this spring, now stationed in DC, the engine noise started to change pretty noticeably. Pending an assignment to Vegas in 6 weeks, and wanting to take the car on a cross country road trip, I called up people I had met over my time here in DC to ask who they recommended I take my car to to get it sorted out. One call I placed to Cooper's Corvettes; they don't do service anymore, but they gave a strong recommendation for Mike, who had worked there, but has now opened his own shop, Elite Speed. So, I called Elite Speed up. Mike and Landon gladly accommodated my ridiculousness; despite the limited timeline, despite that someone else's mess was in the motor to clean up, and despite that they weren't exactly begging for work (apparent after showing up). They listened to my concerns, addressed them and we came up with a plan that amounted to a top end rebuild and why not add a supercharger! Mike explained AND showed me that my worst fears (bad bearings) were unrealistic, but confirmed that indeed the first cam was scrubbing a couple lobes off...unsurprisingly from where the clacking was coming from all along. Additionally in going through the motor, they found where the timing gear had worn against it's retainer plate, which was likely the initial source of all the metal long ago, not the oil pump. Throughout the process they were communicative, and professional, sending texts with pictures, explaining what they found, and observing the most judicious break in procedures for all the new parts installed (which was very reassuring to me personally). When the day finally came for me to pick up the old girl, I couldn't be happier with the outcome! From the first startup, the valve train sounds right!...you know it when you hear it, which gave me a great amount of confidence right away! Landon did a great job tuning it, making the idle as smooth as possible despite the still aggressive cam (choppy idles are hard on the valvetrain, and understandably, I'm unreasonably risk averse), and still putting the power down up top (some tricks with changing timing depending upon engine RPM, you'd have to ask him the details). Even more encouraging, they took the time to put some miles on it and make sure they did it right; I know some people think this is a bad thing ("I'm paying you to fix it not drive it"), but that's like a chef cooking without tasting, and like a good chef, they put in the time to make sure everything was sorted! I'm unreasonably pleased with the result (if that's possible) and I'm more confident in the car now after adding 200 HP, than when it didn't even have a supercharger! Nothing about getting that much work done is cheap, but I feel that I got a great value; I think they put in well more hours than were captured on the invoice, and I would confidently recommend them.
