Took my vehicle in for an oil change and state auto inspection and we had great service. The man who checked me in was very polite and friendly. Prices are fair and service was great. I will be returning for my future auto needs. I chose to drop off my vehicle instead of waiting, but I did notice that there is a waiting area with coffee and water. When I picked up my vehicle the man who helped me was also very nice and friendly. Overall, I had great experience and would highly recommend Express Auto Service. read more

You try to make it convenient for all by setting a 0800 appointment and bring your car in the day before to ensure it is done the next day. Well I normally get a call about an hour after my appointment at most places. Well after getting busy at work, I called them and it was apparent that they forgot about my car. So now they are shifting it back at me that this issue is hard to correct. If they started at 0800, they would have gotten it done. I would highly recommend another place for car maintenance or issues. Look, if someone makes it that perfect for y'all, take advantage of it and try to make some customers happy, not make them wait two days for their car. read more

This company is outstanding from start to finish. They are the kind of high quality neighborhood auto service shop everybody hopes to find when they move to a new area. I lucked out when my neighbor recommended them Now, I too, recommend them to all who will listen. They have taken very good care of my 2001 Acura for the past several years. Fair prices and excellent service. I have found every member of their staff to be helpful, knowledgeable, courteous, and honest. Thank you Gary, Mark, Roger and Kevin. Keep up the good work. A lot of us out here rely on you! read more

All my dealings with them have been positive. The quality of their work is fantastic. Great customer service

Typically, I have a good experience at Express Auto Service. Today, I called before going for a state inspection to make certain that it was a good day to go and that they were not too booked up. The young man on the phone asked me when I'd come and I said in twenty minutes. He greeted me when I got there and took my keys. After an hour, I gave him my cell number and went for a walk. Others came and went for inspections, that arrived after me. I was there from 2:17 pm until 4:41 pm, when I left the lot. I wondered if he had given the mechanics my work order, for the wait to be 2.5 hours. He did not apologize when I paid for the service. It was invalidating. read more

We have been taking our personal cars and our company cars to Express Auto for at least the last five years. They always give us a great price. Very professional, and absolutely very pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs auto service in the Fredericksburg area! read more

My aunt whom is older went to this business for a state inspection, they failed her vehicle stating that her tie rod needed to be replaced. Replacement and labor was a quote of $800 bucks. Her son took her vehicle to a friend and they put it on a lift and guess what her tie rod was fine! I am her to say ladies these people will try to rip you off if you go in alone without a man with you. Her car sits mostly in the garage and sees NO interstate traveling these people were out of their minds and shame on them for trying to take advantage of a lady in her 70's!!! You have been warned read more

Hands down, they're better than the Mercedes dealer! The service is fairly paced and priced. I will continue to take my Sprinter there over the dealer as long as we're in the area and they are too. read more

I went there for an oil change. They were quick, polite, and not pushy with their recommendations. The price was on the lower end of the range of other places. My only complaint was they didn't honor the online coupon for $17 off. They are a franchise, and the coupon originated from the corporate website. They may want to make sure offers aren't being made that they can't honor. That said, it wasn't a huge deal to me. I wasn't relying on the discount, and I was pleased with the service. Also, they initially offered me $5 off, and they took off an additional $5. read more

Professional and reasonable wait time for state and emission inspections. Gary Dillon was especially helpful. Highly recommend this shop.

Seems to take advantage of women or ones who don't seem like they are knowledgeable about vehicles. Failed my vehicle for my brakes not touching my rotors enough. Also told me that several vehicles that day failed for the same reason.... Coincidence? Quoted me about $430 to fix one front brake, two front rotors and labor. I took it somewhere else and it passed immediately. I'll let everyone know not to go to Express. read more

All the oil change places around this area cost about $100. We called here to see if they will still honor their $49 for synthetic oil after Yelp check in and they said Yes! Super great pricing, friendly service and they were able to take us in right away. They also have multiple waiting areas and a full coffee station! read more

This is the only car repair place I trust in this area. I can count on them to be fair and do a good job and charge reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the service is fast. I have been using them as my go to for inspections and car repairs for many years now and am very happy with them. read more

No appointment required for the Safety Inspection when I brought in my Tesla. Fast service and it was only $25! Tip: Don't forget your keycard/Fob and turn off PIN to Drive while it's being inspected. I put all my important things in the glove compartment and that requires a PIN to open. They didn't ask for my code, but it's just what I normally do when my car is being serviced. read more

Untruthful poor quality work. Rebuilt a front end on a truck but forgot to add a few bushing here or there. "Must have broke afterwards". Also had a heater core replaced the dash board had never been the same. read more

I've had my car inspected here. It took over three hours. I understand that they get busy, but it would be nice to know up front what sort of wait I'm facing. That seems like a reasonable customer service expectation when they have two or three individuals just working behind the desks. read more

This is my go to place for oil changes outside of my Mechanic. They also do great headlight restoration. They have always been very nice when I go there. read more

Best auto repair in town. I took a Chevy express van there a couple years ago for a new catalytic converter. The charge was $75 less than they quoted. Said they were able to get a cheaper converter. They didn't have to pass their savings along to me but they did. My son took his car there for a brake job. He paid and then they called him a couple hours later saying they were crediting his credit card for about $35 because of an error on their part. Every experience there has been great. Polite and professional staff, nice waiting area too. read more

Smooth experience at this express auto shop. Called ahead since I got a flat on my way down to NC and experienced friendly service. They have two waiting areas for customers and are practicing social distancing. I chose the one in the back since no one was there . The work was done in about 30 mins or so and the price was fair too! Highly recommend when you're in a bind like myself read more

Express Auto Service - Watching The Chef Show in the back waiting area; too clutch! - Auto Repair Near Me - Fredericksburg, Virginia

only service place in the area that's never lied to me. they're quick, thorough, & do good work. nuff said.

I was looking to get my state inspection done in a timely manner and so happy I found Express Auto. The staff is so kind and courteous. I love that they are a family owned business. I trust them with doing repairs on my vehicle and will definitely be coming here in the future. read more

They are very honest I would recommend them for any work on you car or truck. Had transmission issues. They found the issue and tested it and could have said that it needed to be replaced but did not. Talk to Mark he is very friendly and very helpful!!! read more

Love this place, I'm from out of town, they got me in and out quickly, price was cheaper than originally quoted. Will definitely recommend this establishment. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. They quoted me $1,300 for a front and rear break change with rotors. Not only is that quote absurd and out of this universe...it wasn't accurate at all. Rode over to little tire 15 min later for them to tell me the brake pads still had over half the pad on them and the rotors were perfectly fine. The prey on women and those they think don't know about vehicles. I wouldn't recommend them read more

my last visit was to have one flat tire changed. It turned into a $400 issue. The wheel happened to be bent somewhere and they suggested a new one. I agreed only to get one (overnighted) that was in cosmetically worse shape. A few days had gone by and my tire pressure light came on. The new tire and wheel were the suspect. I pumped it up and a few days later it happened again. This has been ongoing since. I've also checked to make sure I have not run over anything and haven't found any signs. I've waited to post this because all of their other services I have gotten were phenomenal. The staff is friendly and efficient. I will continue to use any other services except for tires services. read more

I see why a lot of people recommended this place! I walked in without calling but they got to me right away, I got my state and emissions inspection done in under an hour for less than $50. Great customer service, thank you!!! read more

Great service! Mark and Roger are awesome! The ladies in the front are super nice too. Our family gets all of our cars serviced there. My mom especially loves them. They are super honest with you and good prices. read more

Got a coupon for a $36 oil change. Went to pay, it was LESS than the coupon INCLUDING TAX! Turned off my "warning light" (oil change needed) the DEALER missed; better, faster more complete service than the dealership! Every time I go there, they're fast, friendly, efficient and go WAY beyond to ensure they keep their customers happy. I sure am! read more

I've been to Express Auto twice, once for an oil change and the other was for rear brakes. Everyone was so professional and easy to deal with . But more importantly the final price was always less than I expected to pay. read more

I see that I am not alone in my complaint about Express Auto Services failing people for emissions inspections over unrelated issues, specifically rusty brakes/rotors. That is easily fixable, especially on my type of car in a way that absolutely doesn't involve charges of hundreds of dollars for replacing these parts. When I come for an annual emissions inspection I expect an emissions inspection ONLY. I've always heard of auto dealers and other auto-related services as making 'marks' of people, but have never knowingly experienced it until Express Auto Services. You've caused me a great deal of pain with your Rejection sticker on my window since, but I am repairing your damage to my reputation for that quickly. I will do everything I can to make your reputation suffer in this post for being the slick sheisters that you are. You'll not get another penny from me, and I hope fewer pennies from others, too, if my review has any impact. If I could give you negative stars here, I would. Good riddance to you! read more

07/20/12 - Update. Went to get my 2006 Honda Pilot inspected and get an oil change done. Again, exceptional service, very honest and polite! I had a coupon for $10 off Any service excluding state inspections, so when I asked if they could apply , they told me they need to know in advance which was kind of strange but i will try to use it next visit! This was for a non-scheduled appointment.... Friendly, courteous staff. Britney is a charm and had the work done .5 hour earlier than originally promised at 2 hours. BTW my other issue, steering vibration @ 60mph, was also due to the brake calipers needing to be replaced. I had a 2nd issue with my brakes and guess what? Not under the warranty and had to pay an additional $800.00 and about 1 month later they feel as if I am pressing on a sponge...........really? I haven't been back, and I won't go back! I guess its because I live an hour away so they decided to screw me! read more

Got there at 4:00, was out by 5:00 for emissions test. Staff was polite and professional. Not our typical auto service store. Lounge is nice with tv and refreshments. Would do business here again. read more

Fast service! No appointment was necessary for state inspection, they got us in and out!

I have always received good service from Express Auto. Sure you have to put up with the vehicle analysis and up sale on additional services. But here is the thing, and the up sale works two ways. 1) If you say no thanks then they leave it at that, there is no hard sell. 2) legitimate issues do get pointed out and you can prioritize your repairs. The prices are competitive for the area a few bucks either side of the others, that is sometimes higher sometimes lower. The service though is very good and they stand behind their work. General preventive maintenance is quick and easy, usually only a short wait. Lobby is clean, usually enough seats to go around. There is coffee and tea. The only negative is the TV. FOX news on all the time, just annoying noise (it is a small lobby). There are a lot of magazines and newspapers - but you can't read because of the TV. Probably ought to do away with one or the other. read more

This place is a TOTAL RIP OFF. SCAMMERS. Brought my car in for a check engine light; they charged 200 for a diagnostic and $2,400 for 4 new spark plugs and coils. 5 months later, check engine light came in my car again, so I bought a diagnostic tool off amazon for 35 dollars, and changed my own spark plugs and coils for 250, and it only took 15 minutes. There is literally only 1 screw holding the coils and spark plugs in place and they are right on top of the engine. . It was so easy to replace, a child could do it. So they charged me $2,400 for a 15 minute job that cost $250 in parts. read more

Since moving to Spotsylvania we have used their service several times to repair my daughters car. Always receive excellent service. Very kind staff.
