I had a great experience at Little Tire. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very professional. They worked quickly but didn't rush the job, and they made sure everything was done right. The pricing was fair, and there were no surprises. My car is running perfectly now. I really appreciate the excellent customer service and attention to detail. Thank you, Little Tire! read more

Just went for an oil change, but they were very friendly and seemed honest. Was also cheaper than Walmart, Take 5, or any of the other places I checked first. read more

AC quit working,Ben ( Store manager) and Dillon's mechanic skill had me up and running in no time. I would recommend this location in Fredericksburg to everyone that needs a honest and professional car repair. Thank you guys read more

I wish I lived in Fredericksburg, because I know where I'd take my cars and trucks for service. Found a truck in town and brought to Grease Monkey for a pre-purchase inspection. Learned alot. Then later had an oil and air filter change. They do tune ups as well - not just oil changes. Owner Jim and staff were hard working and pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend. read more

Have come to this place for many years they don't oversell and do quick efficient work.

Great service, always polite, curtesy, and honest. The pit crew is fast and explains any concerns they see, to you.

Staff was very accommodating and reliable. Would definitely go there again when I need an oil change.

Fast and affordable. No pushy sales. Clean waiting area. It's better then other places because they actually know about cars.

This place is truly bad. I got an oil change and as i was driving to the airport I got a message saying that the oil level was below the minimum and I needed to add some. I did. I brought it back and they admitted that the filter was not placed in into the housing correctly. They redid it and pulled the car out and the engine was rattling. They pulled it back in and allegedly got it right - the rattling stopped. I took it to a real facility and they said my engine was an oily mess. They cleaned it up and put everything in correctly this time. After almost killing my car after a simple oil change they had the audacity to charge me a second time for the synthetic oil change. Please don't go there. read more

Fantastic service! Crew was very nice and did a great job. They worked quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend

This place will cost me hundreds of dollars in repairs bc of their "oil change". They shorted out my glow plug on my sprinter (problem 1), they took off my air filter house and never replaced it which prompted my engine light (problem 2), all next to the oil filter they replaced. They even broke my window shade. All costing me hundreds of dollars in repairs and diagnostics. I will be contacting multiple state agencies regrading their negligent services. read more

Grease Monkey - Auto Repair Near Me - Fredericksburg, Virginia

This is a little late, but I had an amazing experience with these guys! I was driving up to DC from Richmond, and out of nowhere, a big 18-wheeler wheel came flying out in the middle of the highway and I couldn't avoid it and ended up running over it. Me, knowing nothing about cars, panicked and pulled over to the first shop i saw. I got lucky with this one. These guys were more than happy to help me and explain to me what happened. They even had to take something off the wheel that got damaged, and did it happily. The men were nice and super helpful! If i'm ever back in the area, I would not even think twice about coming back here. read more

The best service you'll get, fastest turnaround, profile of the work done on your vehicle, the guys will also tell you what work to prioritize if you're worried about your budget. Recently started to get invoices emailed for my records. Every month I get coupons in the mail. Hands down an easy recommendation. read more

I was very pleased with my total experience today. They were friendly, helpful and understanding of my budget. I will be returning to have my car serviced here in the future. read more

Awesome place to get my car serviced. I have been taking work vehicles and all my family's vehicles to Grease Monkey for the last 15 years, Jim and his crew are very professional, up front and honest without any pressure. read more

I was really skeptical about this place because i usually go to a big name auto shop lile tiresplus for my oil changes, and because of all the 5 star reviews grease moneky got i was sure they were fake. Because i live in southern maryland and work in fredericksburg i put ALOT of miles on my car, i decided to at least give them a chance because it was so close to work that maybe i wouod get better service than i do at home. To be completely honest and without exaggeration.. i will never go anywhere else ever again. They are amazing. I was greeted instantly, and told them what i wanted (high mileage oil change with tire rotation) and they gave me a price..all before i even got out of the car. After about 5minutes one of the guys comes in and unlike most places where they tell you 1,000 things that are wrong with your car to try to get money out of you, he actually brought me my air filter and told me thet recommend i change it and the cost, i declined, and he just said "ok well we will do your oil change and tire rotation and be done soon". That simple. All in all it took only about 20minutes tops and they even cleaned my carpets!. And the owner is a wonderful man. We talked about the business and about my job (i work for the post office). He is a really nice respectful man who i can tell really cares about his business. As for the negative reviews.. i would suggest trying to go when they are least busy. I went on a friday around 1130am and got wonderful service. read more

I always take my car here to get to oil changed, because they're fast and efficient friendly and affordable. However when my son came to me and said "mom my car is not working right and it's smoking ."I thought well, i'll take it up there but I don't know if they will able to do anything for me. Not only did they diagnose the problem quickly ,they made all the repairs to the car in two hours and it runs great! Jared was the young man I spoke to at the desk and on the phone . I was very impressed with his customer service Skills. He was polite, friendly ,informative any made all the necessary recommendations based upon their findings. They even took it for a test drive after the repairs were made to make sure that it ran properly. So whatever what kind of car you drive, you might want to consider taking it here for all of your automotive needs. read more

The people here are awesome. They know their stuff and do it well. I wish they did more so I wouldn't have to take my car to other places. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because my bill jumped up $100 after asking for an oil change;not sure what that was about but ok. read more

Man oh man, I was really impressed with this place. Can't judge a book by its cover. It doesn't look fancy on the outside but they are fast, they know their stuff and they go out of their way to save you money. I went to a dealer for an issue, one crazy priced estimate later, I'm showing the same issue to these guys and they're like, "this is an easy fix Mr. Bernard, we don't even need to charge for that." Highly recommend these folks. Integrity, expertise and customer service, this is the place. read more

I've been going here for over a decade and have never had an issue with the service or the sense of professionalism displayed by the staff. It's a rare thing these days to have an organization not take you for granted as a customer. Each time you come in they treat you like a valued customer and not just a number to add to the bottom line. A business is usually a reflection of ownership and this facility thrives in old fashioned values and a sense in pride in delivering good, honest work in a timely manner to get you back on the road. In these days where up selling seems to be the standard practice, it's more than refreshing to be briefed on what needs to be addressed rather than the hard sales tactics that so many garages use to pressure their customers. Thanks to the staff and the ownership for demonstrating that the good old days of customer appreciation aren't completely dead yet :) read more

Went in for a state inspection and oil change in February of last year. Had to replace the front breaks to pass. Took my car to somewhere else today while I was there I assumed I would be good to go just to get my inspection now while they weren't busy, only to find out not only did they not change my beak pads, now I need new rotors. Spent $442 and got nothing but a Cleveland steamer on my chest. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Awesome place! Very reasonable on prices but what is most important is the great service we received. The knowledge they showed of what vehicle's need and when and the how to do it was great! Ricky Young, shop foreman, and David Whitley, manager, are very knowledgeable and you could tell everyone who worked there was HAPPY to be there and enjoyed their job. I would highly recommend Grease Monkey. read more

Excellent experience. I just moved to the area, and needed an oil change. Yelp to the rescue as always! Went to Grease Monkey this morning and I was in and out within an hour. Quick service and great customer relations. The service technician came in to let me know what they found during their regular inspection of the vehicle, discussed what I wanted to have done today, and he didn't try to sell me any extra services. I really appreciated that because as a female, I tend to be treated like I don't know anything about my vehicle at most service places. In addition to the regular oil change service, they also wash your windows and vacuum the interior! I truly appreciated the service and experience at Grease Monkey and I will be taking my vehicle back there in the future. read more

Normally my husband changes the oil for me. However, when the oil plug became mangled I needed to take my car to professionals. I was a little skeptical about the 5 star rating, but decided to give Grease Monkey a shot. I arrived at 8:00 and was back on the road by 8:20. They drilled out the plug for no extra cost, vacuumed the car, and even brewed fresh coffee! The owner and technicians were friendly and welcoming, and the waiting area was clean. The price was reasonable, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the level of service. These folks have definitely earned the high rating. read more

Today I was in need of an oil change and every place I went had a wait time of 2 hours or more. I decided to go to Grease Monkey and I must say I was absolutely pleased with the service I received. When I pulled up I was greeted by Ben (Manager) who assured me I would be taken care of in 10-15 minutes, which was true. I was so happy with the service I took my other vehicle for an oil change today as well and I was greeted once again but by Ryan whom is absolutely friendly and provides so much reassurance. Justin (Assistant Manager) gave me an explanation on the importance of safety with replacing certain things on my vehicle, such as a belt. This place has incredible service which is hard to find but I'm glad I found them. read more

Super quick, extremely friendly, and reasonably priced. They fit me in right before closing, too. Would recommend.

Update: August 30,2019- Since the post above, I did receive a full service coupon for my bad experience on June 1st. 'Atta Boy Jim! On August 29th I went in to redeem my coupon. Jim the owner was not there. I had my oil changed and I requested that the tires be rotated. One of the employees starting talking to me about the truck and eventually he came around to badmouthing the owner Jim for having nice vehicles for his family although he doesn't have health insurance. Not real profesh bro. As the guys went to work on the tire rotation, I noticed that they were moving the tires to the incorrect positions on the vehicle. I referred them to a diagram as a result of a Google search, then I had to watch like a hawk that they followed through with my request. They tried to tell me that they were doing it correctly. Uh, no. It was at this time that Jared lit up a cigarette and walked freely in and out of the work bays. These are the areas where hazardous materials are. Nothing apparently had resulted from the above post even though I was assured that Jim had spoken to these guys. INCIDENTALLY, THIS WAS THE SAME GUY WHO WAS SMOKING IN THE GARAGE THE LAST TIME I WAS HERE. If it was my business, he would be fired! Jim probably did speak with these monkeys, but clearly they don't give a crap about their jobs, about Grease Monkey's reputation or about THE GENERAL SAFETY OF THE PUBLIC WHO FREQUENT THIS BUSINESS. So here we are once again. After redeeming my coupon, I asked Jared "Do you know why I'm getting a free oil change today?" He said he remembered the post (the one above that I had taken down when I got my coupon but now goes back up). I reminded him that I was getting a free service today partly because of his smoking in the shop. I also let him know that 2 times on this visit I saw him bring a lit cig into the shop. I guess we will stay on this merry go round until I get my safe Grease Monkey back. How about another coupon Jim? Oh, by the way, corporate has been notified about Smokey Jared. Hope we don't lose a Grease Monkey franchise here in Fredericksburg. It has been my go to spot for about 15 years. Will not be going back. All the times we've gone before they've changed the oil and wiped down the inside of the car and windows. This time they charged substantially more for the oil change; then called shortly after we'd dropped the car off and said it needed a back wiper and air filter. Did not offer prices individually or as a total. I thought those 2 things together would cost about $20; so I expected the total bill to be $60-$65. When we picked up the car we were presented with a $92 bill and they didn't even do the usual wipe downs--inside or out! read more

Ben - first and foremost thank you for all the rapid replies and answering all my questions and concerns immediately with all the right answers. Total satisfaction from start to finish. GOOGLE REVIEWS Most relevant Martha Jane Martha Jane 2 minutes ago RUN.. BAD, BAD, BAD. I took my car into their shop to have an oil change. I have a smart car and they assured me they have worked with these cars before. I was so happy and was treated so great by the owner of the company and even got a new customer discount. Everything seemed to be great. Once I got home, which is a 30 mile drive from Fredericksburg as I was walking away from my car I noticed the engine cover was half way hanging off my car underneath. This tells me that it was not fastened properly after they changed my oil and performed the other services. Things happen and I understand that, so I called Grease Monkey and left a message. They didn't call back, so I again called them the next morning. The guy I spoke with assured me they would put it back on. I took my car back and after waiting a half an hour I was told it was fixed but they had to put two bolts and a zip tie on it to get it fastened. I'm guessing in a round about way they said we had to rig it. I'm pretty sure a zip tie is not an OEM part. They went on to tell me that magically the fastener and the bracket was broken off and this was the only option they had to get the engine cover to stay on. They also said it had absolutely nothing to do with any of the services they performed. Bull. They made zero mention when they worked on my car that anything was broken. Magically today it is but wasn't them who broke it. My car is relatively new with 30k miles on it. I have never had one problem with it and it seems very coincidental the day they service my car all of the sudden the engine cover fastener was broken. What I suspect happened is whoever worked on my car didn't know what they were doing with a smart car and in the process of removing the engine cover broke the fastener and bracket. Never said one word about it. I questioned them about it and was dismissed and basically told I didn't know what I was talking about and I should be thankful they fixed it. They were so rude. They are the ones who broke it then rigged it to put it back together instead of manning up an admitting the mistake. Things happen I understand that. You own up to it, fix it properly with the correct parts then you move on. That's called doing business with integrity, but no they couldn't do that. Now I have to go and pay someone to fix it the proper way or replace it altogether. What these mechanics don't realize is I'm 55 years old I've been around the block. I worked over 30 years in the automotive industry I know when I'm being fed bull. Here's my final thought. The owner of the company was so awesome. Unfortunately he wasn't there today for me to speak directly to him. I wonder if I would have had this treatment if he had been. I was so looking forward to doing all of my business in the future with Grease Monkey and even told him I'd be back in 2 weeks to have my brakes checked and replaced if need be. That's not happening now. Honesty and doing business with integrity goes a long way. Too bad Grease Monkey chose to be rude and deny. Bad business. After several attempts to connect with the owner of Grease Monkey, I continue to be given the run around. So the "heartfelt response" to my review by the owner, Jim, is nothing more than an empty effort to resolve this issue. I was hoping my first impression was true. Once I got the estimates to have the damage Grease Monkey did to my car fixed, I went to their location as requested by the owner Jim. He was not at the store, but I was greeted by the same bully, Jared, who went off on me the previous visit. He immediately became confrontational once again with me. After getting the owner, Jim Koval, on the phone I was treated rudely by him. He was not happy with the estimates, and then began the denial of responsibility, even though I have voice mails and documented phone conversations where Jim apologized for the damage they did. I was so upset I had to leave the store. Jared followed me out to my car continually bullying and being confrontational. Luckily I video recorded the entire thing. read more

I have had some bad experiences with a few of the other automotive shops in the area (Firestone and A&J) the past few years I decided it was time to look around for something different to have my vehicles worked on. I spent some time looking at reviews online and got some word of mouth recommendations for Grease Monkey. Not only did they get positive remarks from people for their maintenance practices but the thing that affected my decision the most was the personal touch they provide with their customer base. I have not experienced anything so welcoming in quite sometime and when you feel comfortable at a mechanic shop then they are doing it right. I personally would like to thank Ben for taking the time just to get to know me a bit while I waited for my vehicle to be finished and treating me like a person and not just another number in line. My wife and I will definitely be continuing our business here for a long time to come. They have also been locally established for over 20 years and their reputation and service level speaks for itself. read more
