I would strongly recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else. My experience with this facility was…read moreextremely frustrating and expensive. Chris, who presented himself as the person in charge, was extremely difficult to deal with. When I asked to speak with the owner or a supervisor, he would not provide that information or allow me to speak with anyone else in management. My biggest concern was the additional work and charges that I did not authorize. I originally brought my truck to this facility because it needed a replacement transmission, and the transmission repair was covered under warranty. After they received the transmission, it took more than five days to complete the repair. When I picked up my truck, I made it approximately two miles before it broke down. The engine began rattling, ran extremely poorly, and then shut down. The truck had been running properly when I brought it to them. Instead of resolving the problem with the original repair, I was told the problem was the spark plugs and wires. I was then charged another $250 for this work, along with another $179 diagnostic charge. I did not bring the truck in for spark plugs and wires, and these additional charges were not part of the original repair I authorized. After they claimed the truck was repaired again, I picked it up and it made it only about one mile before the problem happened again. At that point, I had completely lost confidence in the facility. I had the truck towed to my home and finished the repairs myself. There was also an issue with my old parts. I specifically asked Chris to keep the old parts for me, and he agreed. When I returned approximately 30 minutes later to pick up my truck, I was told they had already thrown the parts away. I was then told that customers have to request their parts before the repair begins. That was not what I was told when I asked for them. What makes this experience particularly frustrating is that I was charged additional money for repairs that I did not authorize as part of the original job, and I ultimately had to take the vehicle home and repair it myself. I don't have a problem paying a fair price for quality work. What I have a problem with is being charged additional fees for work I did not authorize, being charged repeated diagnostic fees, having the vehicle returned to me in worse condition than when I brought it in, and then having to finish the repair myself. In my opinion, the customer service, communication, and handling of my vehicle were unacceptable. I would not recommend this facility, and I strongly suggest getting a written estimate and written authorization for every additional repair before allowing them to work on your vehicle.

Avoid This Shop -- They Took My Money and Fixed Nothing…read more Took my Honda to Just-N-Tyme Automotive in Fredericksburg, VA for a starting issue I clearly explained. They charged me $3,000 -- I had to take a second job over the summer (I'm a teacher) just to pay for it. What did I get? Car still won't start properly Fluids weren't changed (I checked) Tire still leaks air They fixed nothing. I'm in more debt, with more stress, and still don't have a reliable car. Two possibilities exist: They knew what they were doing and robbed me, or They didn't know what they were doing and still robbed me. Either way, it's unacceptable. This place is a scam. Stay far away.

From the moment I began working with Brittany and Dillon I felt at ease that I was in good hands. The entire staff took care of me, were in constant communication throughout my entire repair. I have never experienced such a high quality level of care before. Disregard any negative review you read about this place.

United Mechanics…read more When it comes to the people, they're generally friendly. Currently, there are two mechanics who are fluent in English. However, there's some uncertainty about how long they'll stick around, given the owner's stance towards differing opinions. The shop has seen a fair bit of turnover in staff since it started. I was the seventh Service Advisor, and from what I've gathered, about twenty mechanics have come and gone. Unfortunately, the owner isn't particularly skilled at building professional relationships, mechanics, business, and doesn't seem to have much confidence in the American staff. There have been instances of dismissals, like one involving a mechanic who needed to attend to a family matter. Additionally, mechanics have been let go for minor slip-ups, like an oil cap incident, even when they promptly fixed the issue. On the flip side, some mechanics who've caused significant damage to customer vehicles have been kept on because they're more budget-friendly and speak the right language. It's important to note that everyone at United Mechanics seems to be good-hearted. However, when things don't align with the owner's thoughts, personnel changes tend to happen. The owner believes he provides top-notch service and charges $163.89 in labor while providing barely adequate service to all customers. There have been instances where staff have inadvertently caused damage to vehicles. In these cases, Service Advisors are instructed to manage customer expectations by attributing delays to unforeseen circumstances. It's worth noting that there's only one mechanic with advanced diagnostic skills, and he often gets pulled away from his work to fix the mistakes of another mechanic he struggles to communicate with. In addition to these personnel matters, there's a noteworthy issue with the equipment in the shop. There's a noticeable lack of specialized machinery, like transmission flush units, which affects their ability to carry out thorough transmission maintenance. This could potentially impact the overall quality of service. Moreover, there's a crucial shortage in a proper lift system designed for accurate wheel alignments. This shortage not only hampers the shop's ability to carry out precise alignment procedures, but it also raises concerns about the effectiveness of their services in ensuring optimal vehicle performance. Lastly, they're using subpar yellow hard plastic air lines. While they're cost-effective, they carry the risk of accidentally scratching and damaging customer vehicles during service. This falls short of the level of care and attention to detail expected in a professional automotive shop. These equipment limitations, combined with the personnel challenges, highlight potential difficulties in maintaining the highest standards of service quality and precision at United Mechanics. Addressing these issues is crucial for the long-term success and reputation of the establishment. The owner wonders why his business is slow yet consistently does not take the advice he asks for from his staff. I wish him the best of luck in building his business and hopefully he understands how to treat people and do quality work for his customers. However I would not bring my vehicles to this location for work. I tried to battle the inadequate service from the inside. And I provided the best customer service that I could in my short time at this establishment. If you need anything as far as transmission work goes I would use Superior Transmissions, Trans Tech, or Advance Transmissions.

Review your owner's manual to see what kind of service you need. Make an appointment and let him know what work you need to get done. He was honest twice. He won't try to upsell you or play any games. He's open Monday through Friday during the daytime. If you have to take some time off to have your car serviced, do it. I believe that it is well worth it.
