The gown alterations were so bad the bride had to purchase another gown from another retailer a few days before the wedding. The jumpsuit was equally as bad, but the bride was so upset, she just decided to make do. Honestly, this was a really bad experience for my client. Luckily, she was able to find another gown. I visited Elite Secrets Bridal from a bridesmaid perspective, originally the bride thought she would browse the store and try on some dresses not expecting to purchase. Her consultant, Wryan ended up picking her wedding dress, it was literally the first dress she tried on. Wryan was very knowledgeable, easy to work with and just made the experience wonderful for the bride. The store is very clean and there are so many dresses to pick from. They even gave us these cute signs to vote on the dresses. When booking your consultation there is a form you fill out to confirm your style, budget and details in regards to your wedding. It's about $50 to book a consultation and they also offer a VIP package. Our overall experience was amazing. The only thing I would criticize is I wished they offered us water, especially to the bride, there were so many dresses she tried on and it was a bit exhausting. Let me start by saying: do not waste your time or money at Elite Secrets Bridal. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism at this shop is shocking for any business in 2024. Here's my experience: I scheduled a bridal appointment and filled out a questionnaire beforehand, but when I arrived with my friend, the owner, Tonya, asked me the same questions I had already answered. Not a huge deal, but a clear sign of disorganization. She pulled about three dresses for me and told us we could pull one as well. I was then informed there's a $50 fee to try on dresses, which would be credited toward a purchase. I've visited several bridal shops, and this was the first time I'd encountered a fee just to try on dresses, but I went along with it. Tonya told me that if I purchased the sample dress, I could have it altered and customized for an additional $700, saving the time of ordering a new one. She called out the seamstress while I was trying the dress on, and I explained the customizations I wanted. I specifically asked if any of my requests were unreasonable, and both Tonya and the seamstress assured me everything could be done. I paid about 90% of the total cost for the dress and alterations and was told I could pay the remaining balance at my second fitting. Now fast-forward to my second fitting. I called to reschedule, only to find out none of the details from my first appointment had been communicated to the staff, including LaTonya, the operations manager. LaTonya assured me we could reschedule for the following week and the dress would be completed by then. I showed up the next week, only to find that none of the customizations had been done. The seamstress threw together a sleeve that was so poorly made I could have done it myself. There was absolutely no accountability, and the seamstress didn't remember anything from our first appointment. She stood there clueless, like a deer in headlights. When I asked for Tonya, I was told she was on medical leave, but they assured me the alterations would be completed by my final fitting. By this point, I had no confidence, but I had already paid for the dress. At my final fitting, I immediately knew the dress was ruined. The sleeves were butchered, and the breast cups I requested were poorly fitted. They asked me to leave for an hour while they attempted to fix the issues. I came back an hour and a half later, and nothing had improved. I asked them to wrap up my dress so I could take it elsewhere to be fixed. I brought the dress to an experienced seamstress, who confirmed that Elite Secrets Bridal had butchered my dress. The hem was uneven, the split was done incorrectly, and there were two holes in the dress. My new seamstress said that one of the holes could have caused the entire bottom of the dress to tear apart. I contacted the bridal shop, and LaTonya offered me $350--half of the cost of the alterations. She also had the nerve to tell me I could have bought my dress anywhere, which was completely unprofessional. I've been more than patient, but as a bride and someone in the bridal industry, I will never recommend this shop. I'll be advising all my clients, friends, and industry contacts to steer clear of Elite Secrets Bridal. This has been the most stressful part of planning my wedding, and the shop deserves zero stars. None of my requests were unreasonable. This shop lacks any kind of bridal experience. No music, no champagne--just an offer of water. It took me a few months to write this review just to make sure the mediocre experience was worth writing about or not. So here I am. I cannot give them a five-star review more like 2.0. My girlfriend saw their store front close to her church. I went to look at their website and reviews and looked decent to go check them out. I decided to sign up for the 2-hour VIP Bridal Experience on the website listed $300 for weekend and $200 weekdays. Being a first-time bride to be and interested in trying on different dresses that best fit my shape and size, I didn't know if you are supposed to pay to try on these dresses. I said, why not pay and get the full VIP experience! I was excited so I decided to go for it! When I checked out the total was $350 instead of the $300 that was posted on the site. When I saw the cost difference, in my head, I said it must be inflation since everything is so expensive. That should've been the first red flag. So, I went ahead and paid online for my appt. You would think this shop would issue an email receipt that it was received and confirmed but NO! Second red flag AND they or the shop owner didn't bother to say thank you or call about my upcoming appt. Talk about being VIP, they charged my card no problem but never heard from anyone about confirming my appt for the next day or where to park. Silence. The day before my appt I called them at 10am when the shop was supposed to open but when I called, twice it rang a couple times before they declined the calls. I then contacted my girlfriend who also called the shop, but she had better luck to be able to leave a message. The shop owner called my friend back and told her she would call me, but she never did not. I was very angered by that fact she didn't bother to call the bride to be, which tells me that I am not important, nor did they make me feel like VIP at all, which left a very bad first impression of them. Which then led to pre-determined dislike for the shop. I knew I would not buy from them. Be cautious, they don't do refunds. The day of my appointment, I was already skeptical of my appointment would go but decided to put on a happy face. We weren't greeted immediately; my friend went around the dresses to find someone. We had two bridal consultants, Wryan and another young lady (forgot her name). They were fabulous! Wryan was the seasoned consultant and brought out a few dresses for me to try on. We were the only customers in the shop, their A/C wasn't working properly which was a tad warm and they had a nice spread for us since I paid for it. The appt took about an hour and a half. Afterwards they gave us a bridal goodie bag which has some ok stuff nothing to rave about. The dresses he pulled were beautiful but over my budget which also turned me off because they didn't read my profile of what I could afford. They gave me a gift bag of items which the little ring plate was chipped, oh well. There were aspects of the experience that the owner could've done better, especially the communication arena which is the most important piece. Lack of communication can only mean I can't trust them, at least that's my opinion. I will list my examples: 1. Failed to provide receipt confirmation of payment 2. Failed to send email communication to introduce the shop or owner and what to expect or how to prepare for appt date and time. 3. Failed to or email, text or call to reconfirm appt date and time and parking information. 4. Have consultants read questionnaire that was completed. Budget was less than $2,000 5. Failed to send a thank you email/note for visiting their shop with the link 6. The website looked nice, but it was outdated when I booked. It still referenced wearing masks and the pricing was not correct. I looked again, looks like they updated their pricing. I also read a few other bad reviews after my appt about them that I missed in my initial research which only reconfirms their lack of communication and attention to detail. I also checked the BBB and they were few bad ones there. I went to different bridal boutique, and they didn't charge me for trying dresses the bridal consultants where just as attentive. They communicated/confirmed with me via text and email about my appointment time and location. I say check them out but keep your options open. My bad experience doesn't mean it would be for you. wish had a better review to give to a women owned black business but I don't unfortunately.. I found this business by just walking by. With me knowing a close friend had a wedding coming up I decided to suggest this location for wedding dress shopping . We had our first appointment in August and this was the only appointment that was 10/10 the owner assisted us on finding a dress my friend loved . The wedding is a destination wedding for 10/25 so we knew time was of the essence. The dress was beautiful but the bride made some design customizations that owner assured us could be done . She even had the shop streams tress come up and start pining and preparing for the changes . So the bride paid 90% of the total that day for the dress as is and all the customization. We were set for the first fitting with all the changes made for 9/19. We showed up 9/19 any the dress looked EXACTLY the same nothing was done and we were told the owner was out on medical leave . And they clearly all don't communicate because the fill in employee had no knowledge of the appointment. So my friend tried on the dress again and basically had the same appointment AGAIN . They apologized but then the owner reach out via email to say my friend still owned on the dress despite her paying 90% including alterations on the first visit . She squared that away after providing receipts and informal back and forth . We then set another appointment for a final fitting for 10/10. The dates are important because we were promised on the first visit that the dress would be completed 10/1 . To ensure we had enough time before traveling for the wedding she even purchased the dress as is so we would not have to worry about about a new dress coming in ,in time and basically avoid EVERYTHING we actually went through. So on 10/11 we enter the shop tried on the dress , the alterations were made but horribly they left so many imperfections the sleeves were attached with just a piece of thread not secured down with snaps as promised the split had a noticeable buckle that was made in error and etc . So the fill in employee told us to come back in a hour and all would corrected but again they LIED we returned to a botched dress . With the bride visibly upset they try to calm her down with excuses but we just took the dress and it is currently getting corrected but for an additional cost of course . The owner did offer a 350 refund but the total for additional alterations at her shop were 700 and that's the rightful amount that should be refunded to my friend it's the least you could do for over promising ,under delivering and not being transparent . Then treating her like she was crazy when she was just expecting things to be as they were communicated to her . The owner had a lot to say via email . Just wish she used her communication skills with her staff as well. So moral of the story shop at your own risk . Unfortunately things only got worse I purchased my dress in July 23 and fully understood the possibility of a 3-4 month turn around. I was told my dress, veil, blusher & headpiece would all be available by October. October came and went. I called multiple times NO RESPONSE. I emailed weekly NO RESPONSE. Finally in November I received an email saying my dress is to ship next week. 2 weeks came and went... this went on until December. I got a new shipment date 5x and still NO DRESS‼ pls keep in mind my wedding date was 12/31/23. The lack of communication is my main issue with this establishment. My initial visit in May 2023 was great; they helped me find the perfect dress! We ordered and paid for the dress and train in full that very same day! I was told it would take time for the dress to arrive but I had a year so that was ok. The quoted timeframe was 6-8 months. I began reaching out in January to get any updates as I've lost a significant amount of weight and I know my dress would need a lot of alterations. I'm only receiving generic emails with store hours and timeframe for when someone would contact me. At this time I'm out of state working so the only way for me to reach them would be phone or email. January I'm not freaking out! We roll around to February and now I'm growing concerned because no one is responding or calling me back. The middle of February I unfortunately have to ask my finance to go check on the status of my dress and let him know that no one is responding or calling me back. My wedding was 60 days away and I'm was unsure if I even had a dress. His first visit no one was at the shop and it was closed. His second visit he was able to speak to someone and finally someone calls and tells me that my dress had not arrived and they would call the manufacturer and give me an update. I get a call a few days later that was dress was on the way. Once my dress arrived which was in March 2024 I received a call and was told I needed to make an appointment to come in for alterations; what I wasn't informed of is that they only perform alterations on 3 days. After some back and forth I decided to just have my finance go pick up my dress; I didn't trust them to deliver honestly. I decided to have the dress altered by another seamstress and she did an amazing job; she had my dress ready in a week! I had a mostly great experience with Elite secrets Bridal. So, here's my experience and dome things you should know before you visit. There is a $30 fee to book an appointment, but with COVID most bridal salons are charging a booking fee. It's very clean. They take your temp and give you hand sanitizer upon entering. I also noticed that they sanitize dresses in between try ons. It's social distanced and in my two visits I either had the salon to myself or there was one other bride and small group with her on the opposite side. The quality of the dresses is sooo good! They have a lot if different designers, styles, and price points to suit your needs. The customer service was awesome! You get to go around and clip the dresses you like and they also select dresses for you based on your initial questionnaire. They really make you feel like a bride. They have lots of accessories to complete the looks. It is also a black owned business if that matters to you. They don't pressure you to choose. Once you say yes to a dress they offer champagne and pics to celebrate. You can either put 50% down on your dress or pay in full. So here are the not do good parts about my experience. 1. I paid the $30 fee for my appointment and was scheduled. I couldn't decide at the moment and needed a few days to decide the dress I wanted. So I was told I wouldn't have to pay another $30 fee the next time I came in. When I scheduled they attempted to charge the card on file for the fee after we hung up and without mentioning it. Luckily it declined because of the type of card I used. I literally use my cashapp card for reasons like this. 2. On my first visit, I worked with the owner and Katie. They made me feel very comfortable. However, on the second visit I worked with another young lady. The lady who helped on the second visit entered the dressing room on multiple occasions (while I was in my underwear and no bra) to put the dresses on me. This made me very uncomfortable and it was very awkward because she didn't ask. This was not my experience with the owner or Katie. They stayed outside of the fitting room and waited for me to ask for help with zipping up. The second young lady even came in when I was taking the dresses off! I am saddened that is has to come the point where I have to leave this review about this establishment, but I cannot hold in my frustrations any longer, I want to possibly save other future brides from going through what I am going through right now. I found Elite Secrets through Instagram months before I was engaged, and fell in love with what I saw. I was happy to support a Black-owned female-run business because that aligns with my core values as a fellow Black woman. Everything seemed perfect when my mom, my sister, and I visited on White Friday to pick out my dream dress. I especially loved the claim that they tailor to all body types, and I *especially* loved that they have different colored mesh to sew onto dresses so that brides with darker skin tones don't have to look ashy with generic mesh panels. That was in late November. We finalized the purchase of my dress in early to mid-December because my wedding is on June 12th. It is now the beginning of April and I haven't heard a single update. At the time of purchase, it was my understanding that it could take 4-6 months for my dress to arrive, and I was okay with that knowledge of shipping delays due to the pandemic and what not. I'm still okay with that knowledge and am not expecting things to be perfect. However, what I am not okay with at all is the absolute lack of communication from this establishment. I have been calling at minimum once a month and sometimes up to three times a month since late February/early March, simply asking for an update on my dress. Every single time I have called, I have been told that they are "trying to contact the manufacturer" and will "put a note in my profile and get back to [me] with an update." And every single time I have been left hanging with no update, not in email form, and not in the form of a phone call. It is now the beginning of April, and I called a couple of days ago, only to receive the exact same answer, with the exact same outcome - no update whatsoever. I am so disappointed. I am so frustrated. I blindly put my trust in this establishment without first checking reviews, so I hope this is a wake-up call to somebody else so they are at least aware that this can happen to them too. The sad thing is that I chose to shop here instead of just buying a dress online, just for the purpose of supporting a Black-owned business, and I am now starting to regret my decision. I am so stressed and anxious during a time that is supposed to be filled with joy and anticipation, and it really feels to me like the staff ultimately do not care about me and my wedding, which was NOT the vibe I got from actually shopping in person. I have been going through so much stress and anxiety that it is now starting to manifest in physical ways on my body. While it appears to be a long shot, I may return to this review after my honeymoon is over and update it if the situation works out for the best, in the interest of providing an honest wholistic look at the situation. Dresses are beautiful, but wasn't impressed with their ability to listen to the bride's preferences: she listed several features (e.g. sequins) that she did not like after trying on the first dress, and yet they kept putting her in dresses that had those features. We got the impression they had pulled dresses out for the try-on experience before our arrival and then did not adjust as her preferences became clear (not sure this is true, but it certainly seemed that way). This review is based on a bridal fitting experience in November with my friend, the bride, and two of us who were her bridesmaids. I tussled with the idea of writing this review but hopefully, this will improve the customer service and overall bridal experience for future customers. Upon entry, the space was aesthetically pleasing to the eye: big, bright, and open. The receptionist was kind and personable. She offered us water and asked about our music choice. Shortly after, Hummera introduced herself and took photos of us. Initially, she appeared sweet and genuinely happy to see us but that changed. While picking out potential dresses, she gave us a few clips to tag our favorites. When inquiring about more clips, she sternly responded "As a result of Covid, we're only able to do six at a time". Something that was not mentioned before picking the dresses. When we did remind her of the dresses, she appeared a bit annoyed when pulling them. When the bride tried the first dress. I began to say, "I like the" but was soon interrupted by Hummera, who said "Oops, we have a rule here: the bride gives her opinion first", which is understandable, but it was said in a snarky tone. While the bride tried on other dresses behind a quite sheer curtain, men who were working in the store entered. It made the bride uneasy especially since the curtain was transparent. Hummera insisted on her continuing to get dressed but the bride was uncomfortable and expressed that to her. Throughout the fitting, Hummera did inform the bride of alterations if needed but continued to stress there would be an increase in price which was a bit off-putting. Before leaving, the owner did apologize for the inconvenience (men working in the space during the fitting) and offered a discount, but at this point, the overall experience was dissatisfying. read more

Buyer Beware- A friend of mine ordered her dress and skirt in March. It is now November and 2 days before her wedding; so, she goes to pick her dress up, only to be told that her skirt was not ready. They then tried to give her a dirty one- which is, of course, unacceptable; so they are saying it won't be clean until tomorrow- although they KNEW she was scheduled to pick the dress and skirt up TODAY. As indicated on the other poor reviews, the owner would NOT speak with her. Furthermore, to find out 2 days before your wedding that your dress isn't ready like it was supposed to be and ONLY because you came in when you were supposed to pick it up is unconscionable. Now, she is supposed to trust that they will get done overnight what they could not manage to do in over 6 months and rearrange her schedule to accommodate for their error. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Never in any of the weddings I have been associated with have I run into this brand of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability. read more

Owner put her head in the sand and avoided all our attempts to get in touch with her and was intentionally absent when she knew we were coming to confront her. Additionally, Dress didn't arrive until 4 days before wedding and it needed to be altered so they meant an unnecessary extra expense for a RUSH job with a seamstress that we were required to find. I went to ESB for my first time trying on dresses during their sale in July and it was amazing! Tonya gave me a great variety of dresses to try on and made my parents who came in from Philly feels so safe and comfortable during the pandemic. ESB truly believes in finding the best dress for you and this was emphasized when I was between a very discounted dress and a non-sale dress. Tonya let me talk it out and didn't at all make me feel pressured or that she just wanted to make a sale. I had an absolutely wonderful experience with ESB this weekend while wedding dress shopping. I booked an appointment excited to check out their Allure Sample Sale, but was so happy to know they were open to me trying on anything in the store. They have a really wide variety of sizes here, so a bride of any body type can go in and try on their dream dress. They carry multiple designers that I've been following for years! The price range was also excellent. In the sample sale, some dresses I saw were only $300! Ultimately, I found my DREAM dress & even though it was not on the sample sale, it was still in my price range. Most dresses I tried on were in the $1300-1700 range, and the most expensive one was $2500. My consultant, Michaela, was extremely helpful and gave me honest opinions throughout the experience. I knew that she genuinely wanted me to love the dress I ended up with. They handled COVID beautifully, with all staff wearing masks, using hand sanitizer frequently, and even santizing all dresses after I tried them on! I was also the only bride in the store for my appointment. All in all, I could not recommend this bridal salon more highly & I can't wait for my dress to come in! If you are thinking about using this business for your bridal dress, you need to run away from it as fast as you can. I would have left them a 0 star if I could have. They are unethical, disrespectful and have taken money from my daughter for alterations that they did not pay to the seamstress. Five days before my daughter's wedding she did not have her dress. The seamstress had it and was finished but Elite Secrets Bridal would not pay for the alterations even though my daughter had paid the Bridal shop for the alterations. They told my daughter that she could pick out a sample dress to wear on her wedding day and then return it. I don't know how it would have fit her or if they expected her to wear the clips on it to hold it up! They never called her back. We left messages and occasionally would actually get someone on the phone but they would always say they would give the manager the message. The manager/owner never called us back. My daughter was in tears and stressed for at least 5 days not knowing if she would have a wedding dress to wear. It was criminal what this shop did. We ended up contacting the seamstress and had to pay her to get the dress. It was being held hostage! Also, on one of the few occasions that I got someone to talk to at the Bridal shop she told me that the dress was not the point! What? They are a dress shop and the dress was not the point? We were asked to leave a video review saying that we loved the experience in order to receive a small discount, I didn't mind since we had a pleasant experience. Well I said yes to my dress the same day June 25, 2022. I received an email in maybe October telling me that the balance was due which I paid immediately. I gave it a day or 2 assuming that someone would reach out to acknowledge the payment and maybe provide an Update on my dress status. I decided to reach out to them since I didn't hear from anyone. At first I couldn't even get anyone on the phone so my maid of honor reached out via email and was informed that my dress would ship from the designer November 15. I never heard anything so I gave it maybe 3 days and still no one reached out so I started calling. They are terrible when it comes to communication and not to mention today is December 21st and I'm still and calling and leaving messages with no answer and when you can finally get someone on the phone, it's like they couldn't care less all they say is that they haven't heard back the designer.. mind you I paid $2,000 for this dress and now that they have the money the professionalism went right out of the door.. I visited Elite Secrets as part of a Brides Across America event that they were hosting. BAA is a not-for-profit organization that partners with bridal salons to offer military brides, military spouses, and first-responders free wedding (or deeply discounted) dresses. I will be honest and say that I did not expect to have a stellar experience. I expected that since I was coming in to try on a dress to take home for free that I'd be marginalized, or shown only worn-out sample dresses. I went in with a very specific idea of what I wanted and was completely convinced that I wouldn't possible find it. And...I didn't find it: I found something better! I was convinced that I would look terrible in fit-and-flare, mermaid, and trumpet gowns. Sabrina, my consultant, encouraged me to try on dresses outside of my comfort zone in styles that I never would have picked out on my own. I am a very disappointed bride to be. I purchased from Elite Secrets Bridal on April 29, 2022. I experienced 3 bridal boutiques. Elite had the dresses I loved from posts on social media. And I loved one of them in person! So I purchased it on the spot. This was the only place I had to figure out how to get into the gowns. It's really kind of ridiculous for me to go into a dressing room and attempt as much as I can and step out of the room for the young lady to finish getting me into a dress. May sound odd! But the dress I liked had pearl strands draped across the back. It's probably better to ask the bride what she prefers. To date! It is October 12! My gown was supposed to ship on September 2! And I have no shipping information and it's pulling teeth to get a response to questions and those responses have absolutely NO INFORMATION! On 9/23/2022 I called to see if maybe my gown was in store and I hadn't been notified! I spoke with Tasha who told me she would get back to me by Wednesday! Wednesday came and went! I didn't hear from her until the following Wednesday 10/5/2022! She called and spoke to me as if it was the Wednesday she indicated! And had no more information than when I called to inquire about the dress 11 days before! After 2 more sleepless stress filled nights! I wrote an early morning detailed email! This email got an immediate response. Someone will contact you today 10/7/2022! Only to have no one contact me! Tuesday 10/11/2022 I wrote another email making it clear no one had contacted me! Only to receive an email from Vincent the next day! today! Telling me they should have shipping information this week! The customer service is horrible! Unprofessional at its best! I am doing my research for small claims court! I have less than 2 months to get my dress in hand ! Have alterations! And get to my destination! What I purchased was very clear what it offered! But after I purchased the email sent indicated something different. So I responded it wouldn't work for me. I've lived, worked, and played in downtown Charm City for years now. As such, I've passed this bridal shop over and over again - always thought it was beautiful from the outside but never thought I'd set foot inside. So the fact that I not only had an amazing and happy reason to visit but had a GREAT appointment is a dream come true. Kat and Tonya were great, from the time I walked in until the moment I left. They started off explaining the current inventory (styles, availability and costs) and turn around times. I'm already not a very shy person (in my mind, boobies are boobies, no matter what they look like), but IF I was, they made sure to set any worries to the side. They helped me find the dresses that fit my style and then off to the dressing rooms. Even though you're essentially naked, they do their best to give you privacy while also assisting whenever needed. Now - I'm going to be honest, I didn't find THE dress. But I still highly recommend this shop. The gowns are beautiful, there are plenty of options, the jewelry and accessories are on point. I will likely shop here again for other wedding needs, because I like to support businesses that make me feel wanted and welcome. Our 2nd time using the services of Elite Secrets for special occasion make-up. We came last year for Jr.Prom and we are back this year for Sr.Prom. We had an excellent experience both times. I don't have one complaint my daughters make up was flawless. The professionalism here is topnotch. The attentiveness and attention to detail given was 1st class. I had a wonderful experience at Elite Secret's Bridal! I had already been to nine different bridal salons and was starting to lose hope, but I called the salon and was able to speak to the owner, Latonya, who ensured me that they had the dress I was looking for after I described it to her. Latonya & ESB definitely did not disappoint! My consultant Michaela was wonderful. She let me take the lead and was very friendly and patient with me & my guests. The salon is absolutely beautiful with so much character and charm. There was a large variety of dresses and lots of veils and accessories. I was also able to "walk down the aisle" in the salon with my dress on and Michaela even let me play the song I plan to walk down to so I could really envision the moment! (I booked the VIP experience). It was perfect and really helped me say yes to the dress! I'm so happy I found my dream dress at ESB :) read more

I purchased a wedding dress in April of 2022. I was told by the sales associate est. arrival was August. August came and went, never received a call stating the dress was delayed. Called in November, spoke with Tarsha who informed me the dress was supposed to arrive October 14th. She asked if I could give her a week to call the dress maker to check the status of my dress. Two weeks goes by, no call, so I called back. Tarsha tells me she has a shipment coming in but my dress is not showing on the shipment invoice but sometimes the dress maker will just send the dress without notice. She states she will call me back and let me know if my dress came in or not. No call back, it's now December. Call the store, speak with Tarsha and get the same story. No dress, shipment coming in, my dress not showing on shipment invoice and she will call me back. No call back, now the store is closed for Christmas. I call back once the store reopens, Tarsha not in. Call the first week of January, speak with a sales associate who informs me my dress is held up because of Christmas and Chinese New Years. I went off. My dress could have been held up for Easter, 4th of July, or Labor Day. A dress ordered in April should not be held up for holidays in December and January. I asked for a full refund. The sales associate tells me she will have the owner call me back because they have a "no refund policy". I paid for a product and the store cannot honor me receiving that product. If the store cannot guarantee a product then the store has to give a full refund. I ordered a dress in April of 2022 for a March 2023 wedding. I have no dress. I do not and will not wear a dress on my wedding day from Elite Secrets Bridal. If I cannot trust them to get me a dress in a timely manner how can I trust the store to do alterations in a timely manner. The customer service and communication is very poor and I do not want any dealings with this store. Needless to say I still have not received a call from anyone and it's almost February. read more

I stayed in an AirBnb in the bldg to which this store is attached. I had checked out and come down with my luggage, etc to wait for my ride to the train station. I have mobility issues and need to sit down on tiny ledge , by one of the columns on the bldg that I just checked out so, I could order my cab. Suddenly, out of the store came a young bride and her Mother who were Caucasian & a chunky young black female, smiling at them. I was about to congratulate the bride when out of no where, the black woman approaches and says "You can't sit here" in front of the bride and her mother. How humiliating. I responded "I am not a homeless person." "Have you ever seen a homeless person with an iPad". I was a mature Black female seated by a building and so I was assumed to be a vagrant sitting there that she needed to order away when she came out with her customers. Her behavior was clearly to signify to her white customers at my expense. After her outrageous behavior she turned and took her nasty attitude and behavior back in the store. I thought about the humiliating experience and decided that I would right a letter to the owner. So I got up an went to the shop door to ask for a business Cards but the door was looked. So I had to yell through the glass that I want a business Card. Finally she picked one up and came to open the door yelling "You don't have to be nasty." When I reached for the card she pulled it back and demanded to know why I wanted the card. I said because I am going to contact the owner. Then she attempted to slam the door in face until I reached for the door to stop it. Then she yells "I AM the owner." "Get your hands off my door" and she threatened to call the police. Okay...here is the short 1 She comes out of her rented store to harass, belittle, humiliate and racially profile me. 2 She attempts to slam a door in my face. 3 She threatens to call the police on me. First of all, I am well old enough to her mother, maybe grandmother and the manner in which she treated me was beyond disrespectful. Secondly I am a retired Corporate professional with multiple Graduate degrees including an MBA. Thirdly I have health concerns Fourth I had just exited the bldg where I had been the guest of a JHU doctor for a couple of days. Fifth I was dressed in professional casual attire. Ironically I had noticed and even the Bridal shop in passively and had been interested in discussing business with the shop. In addition to my 30+ years in Fortune 100 and 500 companies, being an established media professional and minister, I design jewelry. As a child of the Civil Rights era, I am a greatly disappointed that after we fought so hard for the right for this young Black woman to be able to have such a store in this location. The takeaway for this younger African American is that an older Black with an iPad and luggage is a homeless, vagrant that was an embarrassment to her white customers. I needed to be shoed away from the premise so her customers, who had smiled at me, would not this less of her store. So I cannot in good conscience, not report this disgraceful racial profiling by the Black owner. read more

Good Evening Just returned from Baltimore with my daughter who is due to be married on July 9, 2022. Our original visit was nice enough, even though I thought I was going to an established bridal business on the order of "Say Yes To The Dress" like on TV. My daughter found her dream dress and paid for it in FULL They advised her that they would notify her when the dress came into the store, this was the week of February 14th, 2022. The dress arrived last week, the third week in June 2022. It took (4) months ??????? Why ? We arrived at 4 Pm for a 5:30 PM appointment for alterations. They said we had to wait until our appointment, no problem. At the Pizza & Bar directly across the street, we sat down and ate, the pizza was surprisingly delicious. We got a call to say that the seamstress could not see us until 6 PM. The seamstress was nice enough but a little impatient when we made small suggestions about the dress being a little more fitted. I felt like she wanted to do the alterations her way, you could see the apprehensiveness? impatience in her demeanor. But wait folks that's not the best part. My daughter paid almost 2,000 for the dress. The seamstress after she finished with all of her fees, the total cost of the alterations was 1,100 and wanted to add on an additional $100 because she said to have it ready on or before July 4th would be a rush job. Did these people BUMP THEIR HEADS? It took you (4) months to deliver the dress to the store so my daughter could be called to come back in to retry on the dress to make the alterations. Their incompetence is not on my daughter. #1, How are you charging anything for a rush order when it took you (4) months to get the dress into the store and my daughter told you in February that her wedding was on July 7, 2022 (10) times. The wedding date was written out on every invoice you had her sign ????? #2 , In what UNIVERSE does it cost $1,100 dollars for alterations to a brand new dress ???? This is a rip-off! How do alterations cost almost as much as the actual dress itself? The seamstress said, she'd talk to the owner about taking off the $100 for the rush order. Really? No you won't !! The party is over. I told my daughter that I would charge the alterations just because we are now "playing beat the clock" to the wedding day, which is in (15) days and (13) days before we leave for Mexico for her destination wedding. My daughter refused and we took the dress and veil that we had just paid for and left "Elite" never ever to return. What makes me sick to my stomach is that we promised that we would as a family promote "black business" more since the pandemic, with many brand new entrepreneurs since 2020 are African Americans. To my dismay, I have not in the past done so was because, you don't get what you pay for many times; not in mannerism, respect, attitude, professional courtesy, etiquette, or class. At least when I've patronized other ethnicities in the past, if I spent a large sum of money with them, I got my money's worth and then some. "Elite" you fall short on many levels. So it's a NO for my large family of women to ever shop with you ever again! So disappointing. My heart breaks for my daughter who is a humble woman, who just graduated with her Bachelors and Master's in Education and is soon to be a Doctoral student. Please don't waste your time or your hard-earned money. It is very insulting to have an establishment where you are spending thousands of dollars in the midst of a recession, try to ROB you with your eye's wide open. Not on this Mama Bear's watch. I wish I could give zero stars! My first experience with Elite Secrets Bridal left a sour taste in my mouth. I should have ran from the moment I made an appointment for 2:15 pm to get to the shop and left standing outside for about 20 minutes. My mom and I are literally standing outside ringing the doorbell and knocking and calling and no one is answering. I am looking through the window and the consultant is in the shop with another customer. I continue to ring the doorbell and call and she finally answers and let us in. We are sitting up front for over an hour before she wrapped up the customer. I leave and tell her to refund my money for the sample sale ticket, because by then we have already been there for over an hour. Later on I get a call from the consultant stating the owner is willing to come and open the shop for me on Monday (Labor Day). Against my better judgment I made the appointment and my mom and I went back the next day. The owner LaTonya Turnage was very apologetic and I tried on dresses. I ended up finding my dress and veil at the bridal shop. Fast forward to when I was making payments on my items until the dress and veil came into the shop. Accounting normally would send me an email reminder with a link to make my payment. We got down to the last payment and no email reminder and the payment slipped my mind. It was a Saturday evening and I got a notification that Elite Bridal Secrets charged my card $535.00. I was livid and beyond pissed because, at no time did I ever give Elite Bridal Secrets approval to take automatic payments from my account. I sent an email expressing my frustration and they didn't really have an answer as to why that happened. So, I picked up my dress the following week. Get down there and there is no veil. Now they are telling me I didn't order a veil and there were not any notes. I had to dig through my emails to find the receipt "they" emailed me that shows I purchased a dress and a veil. She then apologizes and tells me my veil would be there in the beginning of May if not sooner. May comes and I don't hear from them about my veil. So, I started calling the store and leaving voicemail messages around May 13, 2021. I never received a call back. I started emailing on May 20th and no response. I called again and I finally speak to someone who says they can't access certain information and they would have someone call me back. Never got a call back. I then sent a threatening email that I was going to call my bank and dispute the transaction and someone emails me back finally in June. They finally tell me that the veil was discontinued and I can choose another veil and take $200 off or I can be refunded my money for the veil. By this time I am done and I want a refund. They emailed me that the refund would take 5 - 7 business days to process. About 10 days go by and still no refund. I am emailing and they stopped responding to my emails. I finally disputed the transaction with my bank on June 23rd. I sent my bank all the receipts and all the emails of them saying they refunding me for the veil. Finally on July 21st my bank reversed the last payment of $535.00. It is a shame I was never refunded my money and I had to dispute a transaction on goods that I never received. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ELITE SECRETS BRIDAL TO ANYONE!!!!!!! Not sure why the review says I am located in San Francisco but, I am located in Baltimore, MD. read more
