Ms. Ling (manager for this location) has been always so helpful whenever we need to freeze a few weeks due to traveling or have any questions, she's always so pleasant too. Mathnasium has no set class time. You can drop your child off anytime during their open hours, and the session starts when they check in. We don't have to stress about making a strict 3 pm or 4 pm start time, which works really well with our schedule. There's boba, lots of restaurants, and even a dog grooming spot in the same complex so we'll grab dinner, have a quick boba date, or get our dog groomed while waiting. However, I cannot advise anyone to purchase part 3 in good-faith without a strong warning. The material is fine, and she is forthcoming about this study guide being "different", but once you purchase it you'll see the quality-disparity is pretty drastic in a not-so-great way. Laura provides videos where she goes through them, but the questions are not modeled after real CSET questions , which is the entire magic of the first 2. In addition, several of the worksheets assume we can use a calculator, but calculators aren't allowed on the CSET, which proves these questions and worksheets are NOT what we actually need for the test it's supposed to be guiding us on. While I am sure part 3 is sufficient to pass, it feels very bare-minimum compared to the first 2. I think pricing all 3 equally gave a false-impression, since the disparity in usefulness/uniqueness are massive. The first 2 study guides are unlike anything else out there, and set her apart from the rest; but I cannot advise anyone to purchase part 3 unless you don't have any other resources.

Since he likes debate and speech and it needs a lot of writing too, I signed him up for debate too, same teacher, on the same day of the week, one by one. After a few sessions, I was confused, I had no idea what was going on, and how my son had been progressing. The teacher never checked his homework, never corrected or commented on his homework or essay, not a single word, and never communicated with me about my son's performance. As a parent, I understand writing takes time, and I need to be patient. But after 21 sessions, I couldn't take it anymore. The teacher never checked my son's homework, never. I don't know if my son did the homework properly. The only essay I got that was graded, there was no comments, no revisions, no explanation. They used AP history DBQ to grade a fourth grade(Yelp doesn't allow photos attached). The time and the money we spent, the frustration it brought, I am a working professional, and my time is valuable. Every time, I traveled for more than an hour and waited outside for three hours. All we got is this crap. I don't mind paying for quality service, but I hate to be fooled and ripped off. If anyone is looking for a good tutoring academy, please do your research, and ask the places what and how they can help with your kid's studies. Good luck with your search!

As soon as my son first participated in his school's debate program, he finally found his life's…read morepassion. Unfortunately, when he switched to a school without a debate program, he no longer had access to it. New England Academy came to the rescue. My son found it incredibly instructional and supportive. Not only did he improve his speech and debate skills, but he was able to take on leadership opportunities. His critical thinking skills have also improved and have been inherently applied to his school work. Mr. Hughes and Mr. Hobbs are more than teachers. Their individualized instruction and ability to connect with children makes the program resemble a family activity rather than simply an academic program. They have created a safe environment where making mistakes is constructive and team work is emphasized. My high school son is now an OCDL middle school assistant coach, judge, trusted mentor and friend - which are additional life skills he picked up from Mr. Hughes and Mr. Hobbs.
