Our family had the best service from Jan a person could ask for. We switched to College Blueprint after starting with another college counselor. we could not be more happy that we did this. There was an immediate chemistry between our daughter and Jan. I thought the college application process would be stressful but it actually was fun. We had a lot of laughs. What was so good was that Jan kept us on track and we were not stressed for timing because she believes in starting early. I also thought doing it all on zoom would be challenging but in fact it was so convenient and efficient. Our daughter got in her top school as well as others and Jan advised her but never did the work. Jan was amazing and so is The College Blueprint. I would recommend this firm and Jan to anyone. Be wary of Jan, the president of this company, before registering for college counseling services here. We are so glad we learned after our initial consultation with her that we would not be a good fit here. During our initial consultation, we wanted to set the expectation that each hour with our student here be spent with intention, with the highest quality of services possible, and with full transparency with our family. We are very familiar with the college admissions process, and find it important to always set these expectations from the very beginning when working with a company. However, Jan did not seem too happy with this. She saw this request as an attack and was visibly appalled that we would make such a request. As in, how dare we lay out expectations for our student here? How dare they request that each hour be spent fruitfully? Wide-eyed facial expressions, defensive tone of voice, you name it. In a similar vein to one of her comments below, she went on about how all her employees have had minimum X years of experience, have Y degrees from Z prestigious school, etc. Prestige/experience and accountability/transparency are two different things. The latter was all we asked for. It seems like Jan didn't like that. Jan later emailed us to say she didn't want to take us, and my honest guess is that she thinks we are a difficult family to work with. Jan didn't care about our student. She won't be willing to work with you if she perceives you know and want "too much." She seems to have been blindsided by what are very reasonable requests when it comes to spending thousands of dollars on a company. I don't doubt that the quality of services provided here are high caliber, but it's a shame Jan's the face of this company. All we asked for was professionalism, transparency, accountability in maintaining the highest quality of services, and a commitment to helping our student grow... read more

I had an awful experience receiving counseling from the College Blueprint. They were extremely focused on adding schools to my list that I did not even want to go to and provided very little assistance with the application process. Now that I'm already in college, I'm learning all about new programs and pros and cons of different schools as well as financial resources. The essay coaches clearly spent no time on my essay and just threw some empty compliments at me instead of actually critiquing my work to help me showcase my best self. Looking back at my essays, I'm realizing that had they actually read them they would catch mistakes that could have helped my chances. After this experience, I advise all of my younger friends never to invest in college counseling. read more

Our daughter began at College Blueprint as she started her Junior year. She is a natural academic and we knew she needed a program that would stretch her to achieve her greatest potential. CB has helped her pick up 5 points on her ACT and assisted her in navigating through the college application process. The preparation she has received from CB in conjunction with her grades (4.7 gpa) she is on track for incredible college opportunities and maybe even Ivy League. This program has been worth EVERY dollar spent on her tutoring and prep! We HIGHLY recommend!! read more

This place deserve zero stars. The finance department say we didn't pay, and I emailed them 4 times, and she was so rude. They made a huge mistake on their end. They will ask for more money and don't pay their employees a living wage. The counselor at school did a better job! I am reporting to Better Business Bureau-they can't treat people this way. They asked us to write a good review two times--but I will not lie to help this company. My child has ADHD and anxiety, and they made it worse than when we first came in. :( read more

We engaged College Blueprint midway through my daughter's sophomore year and purchased their college consulting, test prep and individual tutoring services. My daughter is now a freshman at one of her "reach" schools. CB provided for individual tutoring hours in times of need. We purchased the 10 hour package and found that this was more than sufficient. We did not have any issues regarding tutor availability. Our tutor was flexible and willing to Skype if needed. Their one on one test prep tutoring service helped my daughter improve her ACT scores by 7 points! My only suggestion for CB in the test prep arena is to increase the number of proctored practice tests they offer as part of their package. Finally, we could not have survived the college application process without CB or my daughter's counselor, Deanna. From forming her college list to finalizing her resume/linkedin to identifying internship opportunities to editing application essays/prompts, Deanna achieved just the right combination of firmness and encouragement to guide my daughter through a stressful and confusing time. CB implements a reasonable but regimented schedule when it comes to the actual application submission process. My daughter followed the internal CB deadlines and was able to EA to all colleges which offered this option. Her UC applications were ready to go mid November and our family was able to enjoy our Thanksgiving holiday! As a result of engaging CB, neither my husband nor I had to insert ourselves into the college application process at all which I'm sure prevented tension and conflict in our home. I cannot emphasize this enough. Junior/senior year in high school is stressful enough. We could trust Deanna and CB to help and guide my daughter and we were able to support her on the sidelines. Hiring CB was one of the best investments we made. read more

I have had two children go through the College Blueprint process and I could not recommend this business more. My daughter who is currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin at Madison was incredibly supported by Deanna at the College Blueprint. My son, will be going to NYU in the fall with the care and support of Kerry Vicencia. . Kerry was informative, helpful and most importantly stayed on top of my son to make sure he got his application process done. As I said, I cannot recommend the College Blueprint enough. Our daughter's counselor at College Blueprint was Deanna and we could not be more pleased with the level of support, advice, and professionalism that Deanna provided. Our daughter never felt pressured by Deanna, but she always knew what her short term and long term goals were and the deadlines she needed to meet in order to stay on track. Deanna helped our daughter to compose a comprehensive list of well-thought-out safety, target, and reach schools, and her suggestions and answers were always direct and helpful. Deanna's support throughout the test prep seasons, essay writing, and college application process kept our daughter on track and alleviated the need for my husband and me to be involved. We have received good news from a few of our daughter's choices so far and are grateful for Deanna's guidance. read more

This place sucks. They had a terrible ACT program. It was overpriced and it taught me nothing. I got another tutor because these guys were so bad. Based on how bad the ACT program was I would not trust the counseling. read more

Absolutely the best decision we ever made! From the essay writing help to the college application process, we could not have done it with them. Our son got 8 out of 10 offers right out of the gate, and we are convinced it is due to the essay/resume combo that the College Blueprint helped us put together. Colleges are looking for well-rounded students, and the College Blueprint were able to help us finesse the whole process. We have used College Blueprint over the last 8 years for both of our daughters including subject tutoring, SAT/ACT prep, and the college application process. They have been great. Both of our kids were accepted to 10+ schools including all of their top choices. One attended Texas Christian University and the other the University of Washington. read more
