I didn't know it when I met him, but Justin was a game changer for me. I never knew the value or importance of receiving professional academic/career guidance. I can honestly say that I would not be nearly close to where I am today without Justin's guidance or support. He has helped me in my professional development through editing my resumes, interviewing skills, and most importantly, he saw my potential and helped me realize it too. His advice is honest and compassionate (though not necessarily what I always wanted to hear) and he wholeheartedly invested his time in me. Justin helped me transition through one of the most difficult times in my life between undergrad and post-undergrad at UCI. These days, I am proud to say I am at my top choice graduate program in occupational therapy. Whether it is college counseling or personal development, you couldn't be in better hands with Justin or his team at Premiere Prep.

Classes are once a week, with homework assigned each week with office hours available, as needed. Ms. Lee teaches the younger kids and Dr. Li teachers the older kids, through high school. I think there are other classes taught by other instructors, but for the most part, its Ms. Lee and Dr. Li. They are very well suited for their respective demographics. Ms. Lee is a very knowledgeable and bubbly and very pleasant. She has a lot of energy, and is very good with the kids. But note, she is also strict and keeps the kids focused and on track. I appreciate that. Dr. Li teaches his classes as one would expect from a high school teacher or university lecturer. Especially now during COVID and distance learning, he does it webinar style so its imperative that your kid pays attention and asks questions when they are confused. Both teachers are very good with Math, and you can tell they are very joyous about teaching. Lastly, but also very importantly, want to note that the front office and support staff, including Teacher Assistants are well trained, helpful and reliable. There are a million places that it is almost overwhelming. I've come to realize that many "hagwans" (learning centers) outright lie about what they can deliver and are totally shady. I liked Modus because Esther and Josephine were down to earth and very realistic. I really liked their approach and genuineness. I realize that not all 9th graders are prepared to take the ACT, but since his math is already advanced, I wanted him to get exposure to the test so he could see what he was in for. I had him go in a take the diagnostic test, which he scored well enough to make it into the spring bootcamp. My son REALLY enjoyed it. He liked learning the strategies and tips that he learned. I registered him for the upcoming summer bootcamp because HE wanted to go. Regarding college counseling with Esther. Again, I realize he is a bit young, but I wanted him to get an idea of what he needs to do. Esther spent time with him one-on-one and was able to pull so much out of him (I'm still amazed at how she was able to do it). She put together an amazing plan for him with some really excellent ideas. They seem to really relate well with students - my son thinks they are pretty cool, which is saying a lot. He went to other places and hated it, so I'm glad he has had a great experience. If you are looking to give your child an academic advantage, but with caring and genuine people, then I highly recommend Modus. UPDATE: My son's test scores improved DRAMATICALLY by attending the Summer ACT Bootcamp. I am extremely pleased with his scores and he really enjoys it, which is important.

His expertise goes beyond what you can get out of any prep book. And I don't think I could've scored as well without his help. So don't be afraid to ask questions and I guarantee, he will give you a very personalized experience. Also, my college counselor, Esther really found extracurricular activities for me that I really enjoyed and pertained to my major. She also helped me brainstorm ideas for my essays and personally, my common app essay turned out to be really unique and my personality shined through. And it was very out of the box which colleges really loved. She helped me get into so many great schools like Boston College, Carnegie Mellon University, UCLA, and Georgetown University. Overall, my experience with all of the staff at Modus (it was called Edugroup before) has made my college application process much more enjoyable and less stressful and I think I learned more about myself through this process. I really recommend Modus!

Mr. Park was personable and spent well over an hour with me during our initial consultation to evaluate what my son needed to work on to improve his 1400+ paper SAT score, which he took as a sophomore last year. Sang also gave us helpful tips on what the current college admissions landscape looked like and what we should expect when my son applies for college in a couple of years. After the evaluation, he assigned Misha to work with him for SAT Math & English. The tutor is experienced & knowledgeable, and is very pleasant to work with. He keeps his lessons effective & engaging, so my son has been able to stay laser focused. After the very first day, my son said, "Where did you find this tutor?! He's good!" It's been over a month now and the English portion, which he previously struggled with, has improved vastly. We are hoping to achieve our target score of 1550+ when he takes the digital SAT within the next couple of weeks. Fortunately, during this short period of time, we've hit this ideal score with college board's practice test #6, which I heard is the hardest one released so far. We look forward to working with Park Tutoring in the near future with AP courses, and possibly college admissions when the time comes. I highly recommend them to other parents, whose child might need that extra assistance in any academic subject!
