Today, at 3:30, I…read morecalled in asking to speak with a certain person (after leaving a voicemail twice in three days). The coordinator proceeded to tell me I was calling the wrong area and that every time I leave a message she has to forward my call (huffing and puffing). I proceeded to TRY and ask her what number I should be dialing on the IVR - before I could, instead, she just ignored me and transferred my call. I was unsuccessful in reaching my person I needed, so I called her back to let her know that if she tells patients they are directing their calls to the wrong, area she should also provide them with a solution ex: tell them where to dial and that she was extremely rude. She then said, "your agent is ready do you want me to transfer you now?" I said "I'd like you to not be rude and then transfer me nicely!" She then said "oh, sweetie, I hope you have an amazing day!" In a condescending tone, transferred me with no apology, and my agent I needed was not available. "Great staff?" Not the plastic surgeon coordinator!

I filled out the pre surgery paperwork, noting that I was allergic to OxyContin, Percocet and any other opioid. Not because I have an addiction issue, but because I am actually allergic to them. Like deathly allergic. I am also allergic to penicillin. I appreciate that they were also very transparent about the co-pay costs ahead of time. When I got there first thing in the morning the they quickly ran through the paperwork with me and I advised them that they didn't have my allergies listed. They corrected that and gave me a wristband noting them. A very nice girl then whisked me back to pre-op noting my wrist band and asking me to verify what my allergies were. When she put me on a gurney and gave me a warm blanket I noticed it had some gummy residue substance on it which caused me to raise my eyebrows. After that the anesthesiologist came in and gave me a rundown on what he was going to do which was reassuring. Then I met Dr Damore who barely looked at me while he gave me a rundown on what he was going to do during the procedure, and then in front of the nurse told me that he would make sure to prescribe me a minor opioid (I forget the specific brand) afterward to help with the pain. I told him that was a hard negative, holding up my wristband and saying I had already advised them at least twice that I couldn't take them. He finally looked up at me and said "Oh, well then alternate ibuprofen and acetaminophen every few hours for it." At that point I almost walked out but I was there so I said screw it, let's do this. The surgery went well. The day after my surgery I got a call from my pharmacy advising me that my (I'm deathly allergic to it) pain medication was all ready to be picked up. To say this troubles me is an understatement.

I mentioned how unhappy I was at every single follow-up appointment, but was gaslit out of my feelings. It is only within the past year that I've gotten around to doing revision consults with other surgeons -- all of whom were shocked at my results. Several of them made comments asking if my surgeon was new, if this was their first day, if this was their first time doing this procedure, if they just "winged it" without taking any measurements, etc. I've now had multiple other surgeons offer to do my revision for free because of how poorly my procedure was done the first time! I trusted Dr. Flint with my self-esteem, my health, and my life. I repeatedly voiced my concerns to her, and in response, I was horribly mistreated. Dr. Flint insisted that I had unrealistic expectations, that I was being difficult, and that the very obvious mistakes I was seeing were not actually there. She even went so far as to complain about me to the nurses in the hallway right outside of my room. Dr. Flint watched me cry during my follow-up appointments as I expressed how disappointed and mutilated I felt...and she had no empathy for me. She has taken absolutely no responsibility for her mistakes, nor has she made any effort to amend them. Dr. Flint was dismissive, arrogant, cold, and just mean to me from the moment I met her to our last appointment where I left crying and decided to never come back. I thought I could handle her horrible bedside manner because she seemed like a competent surgeon. But I never would've imagined I would end up like this, and dealing with Dr. Flint's contempt whilst experiencing the emotional devastation of a botched procedure made everything much, much worse. I would have more grace for her if she had met me with empathy instead of cruelty. I would not recommend Dr. Flint to anyone. If you're looking for a surgeon, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I don't think Dr. Flint deserved the trust I gave her, and I certainly don't think she deserves your trust. I'm not one to leave reviews, but after receiving confirmation from multiple other surgeons that my results were not just bad--but shockingly bad--it felt too important not to. I would hate to see anyone else suffer the way I have because of Dr. Flint.

At the consultation, no matter what quote they give you for your procedure, you're self pressured to go ahead and accept it because you don't want to lose the $250. $250 is an unethical amount to charge for a consultation. The amount they charge for procedures is overly inflated. Since the Advanced Plastic Surgery Institute moved into their big fancy building their business has been more about one thing.. profit. After all, they have to pay for that big fancy building. My advice is to go somewhere else, somewhere where your best interest is truly at heart.
