This has to be the worst nail salon ever. Came here with a friend who was getting her pre-wedding gel mani. The color was uneven, there were clumps all around the perimeter/base of the nails. When called to the tech's attention, she refused to redo & instead cut away around the cuticles, added ANOTHER base coat and color coat resulting in the thickest gel manicure in history. STAY AWAY. Would give zero stars, but yelp won't let me. read more

My wife's experience: Slow. Over priced. Rude. Literally tried to use used cotton on me. They kept telling me it was new when it was obviously used. NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!! NEVER GO HERE!!!!!!! read more

Had an awful experience here. Stopped in to get a quick shellac, was told it was $30, upon looking at the menu saw it was $20 so she said okay $20 and acted like I was inconveniencing her by coming in. The whole place was empty. She started taking my previous polish off, leaves it around all of my nails and starts opening a shellac bottle. I asked her to please get the polish off my nails so she files it off to the point that my fingers are hurting. Not saying a word to me the entire time it's going on. So she paints them and I try to subtly look at them and they seem fine. She finishes, wipes them, and I look down to see polish remaining all over my fingers surrounding my nails. At this point I decide I'll just try to fix it at home with clippers. I paid with a bigger bill which she held up to the light a few times which weirded me out. They didn't give me small enough change so I gave a bill back. I put money to the side and as I was putting the rest in my wallet, the woman grabbed the money from the counter, said thank you, and walked away. It was the weirdest experience ever. Incredibly unprofessional, I'll never go back. The place also smells awful-very strong chemical odors like no salon I've ever been in. read more

Less then impressed with this place. I have been here three times, and that has been three times too many. Each time I try to give the benefit of the doubt and each time I regret it. My mom and I go to have shellac manicures and I get a pedicure as well. They began barking orders the second that we walked in, demanded us to pick the polishes and then sit down. My mom and I stood together and they kept demanding that we go to our stations before we had even picked the colors out. The deluxe pedicure is the equivalent of putting a discount "mud" on yourself, wrapping your legs is boiled towels, and then putting garbage bags on your legs.. Yes GARBAGE BAGS!! The service is terrible and it is a cattle call, they offer rushed services for the price of a full service and the quality is poor. After burning myself on the UV lights repeatedly I finally said I'd had enough- "you're okay" they kept saying - uh, no... NOT okay. The tradition ends here - I will not waste another dollar read more

This nail "salon" was lacking in many ways. We went in for manicures & pedicures. We had to ask them to file both our fingernails and toenails. I have never had to ask for my nails to be filed. The polish was applied messily and the attendants appeared to be in a rush. I would not go back. read more

Very friendly staff. Really comfy massage chair. As the placed filled up with customers (it was a rainy day), management called in additional staff to accomodate everyone. Very nice and fairly quick mani/pedi for $35 + tip read more

It was super rushed, pedicure didn't even get a cuticle trim, and the entire mani/pedi took about 25 min, including the soak. Not worth the price at all. read more

Worst (15 minute) pedicure I've ever had. Polish all over my skin and not even covering my whole nail. Women were very unfriendly. Everything was rushed so she could move on to next person. Also very strong chemical smell to the point it makes you cough when you walk in door. Avoid at all costs. read more

They were very rushed and had me sit in the pedicure seat with my feet in the water until they turned into prunes. Then They haphazardly slapped some nail polish on my toe nails (and skin). I would not recommend going there at all. read more

The worst pedicure I've ever gotten in my life. Every nail was crooked and jagged. The polish is all over my toes, and has bubbled because it was improperly applied. And the worst of all is that she cut me badly on one toe when she was trimming my cuticles, which is now infected. All that for $40 plus a tip. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. read more

My experience was very so-so. They want walk-ins but are not staffed to handle. Right away I was seated and then sat for 45 mins with treatment on my nails wrapped in cotton and solution. Finally I get work started and found they just wanted to rush things in completing gel manicure. Additionally, a couple months ago I paid $35 at the other Elite Nails salon. This one ( both owned by husband/wife, I am told) was now $40 yet same manicure as before. I am a new local and will continue to look for a place that makes this a good experience with consistent pricing. I have used the same nail place in northern Virginia for years. So I will know that type place when I find it now at the OBX. This time just did not work to make me wait with nails wrapped up for 45 minutes and then proceed to rush me out. Not a good experience and not a good manicure for $40. read more

Horrible Horrible!!! I went in for a Mani and wish I would have never gone there. They are extremely rude and no customer service at all!!! They don't take there time and my nails look super messy!! DO NOT GO!!!!! read more

the only person who was friendly was the person who greeted us at the door. 4 of us came in for mani/pedis. The pedi was okay, but very basic and the person who did it got polish on my toe front and didnt bother to remove it. The shellac manicure was terrible! the tech barely looked at me, didnt file my nails well, spotted on the adhesive and whispered inaudibly to communicate. My usual shellacs last 1.5 -2 weeks and this one did not last 4 days. I guess they know they wont see you again so dont really care. not worth the $60 for both. read more

The worst place I've ever been! I have had hundreds pedicures and they spent 15 minutes max doing a terrible job. DO NOT go here. They're crazy. read more

Don't waste your money! I had the most pathetic pedicure here. From the time I put my feet in the water until the last coat of polish was applied was TEN minutes. I am pretty sure the lady used previously used tools on me. She barely filed my nails and simply just rubbed in the lotion, no massage. Never have I had such a quick and poor pedicure. read more

If you're looking for a quick, walk-in, $35 mani pedi this place is great. Clean, good color selection, the full range of upgrades and extras. They didn't over file my nails or over cut my cuticles. My toes looked so good that I got a mani, too. read more

I'm a local. I love to get mani/pedis. Elite Nails used to be great. But the last two times that I've been there the pedicures have been terrible! I gave them a second chance today. Bad mistake! The girl was so rude, and my pedicure was rushed. I will not go back! Other nail salons will now get my business. read more

Would also leave zero stars if could. Came here as a last resort and when I walked in asked if there was a reasonable explanation for the less than stellar reviews. Was told by an employee or maybe owner, "don't care!" The pedicure stations were messy not picked up after.....I left! read more

Run Ladies!! This place was awful!! Don't waste your time or money! I went in for a polish change and manicure. She tried to do my polish change under the table on her lap. Leaving on most of the old polish to just paint over. Did not rinse my feet after pouring on the remover..very lazy and cheap job. I was furious as this still cost me $27.00. I did not tip....which I have never done in my life. This is how bad it was. As I was sitting at the dryer for about 7 minutes..a man came over and turned off the machine and kicked me out. It was a gross and rude place. I have been to many spas and salons and never seen one so bad. I expect a certain level of professionalism and this place did not have any. Stay home and paint your own toes if you can't find somewhere else to go. read more

I get a mani/pedi with my mom here every Black Friday, and I am never disappointed. Friendly staff, very quick and clean. We sit in electronic massage chairs for the pedicure, and for the deluxe option, they coat our legs with mud masks and wrap them in steaming hot towels for 20 minutes. It's amazing. They have upgraded their space from years past. I plan to go back every year. read more

Worst shortest expensive pedicure eve! My technician was nice but was afraid to allow me any additional time in my massage chair per his boss looked like any additional time was not allowed. Not worth it at all! read more

Hands down the worst pedicure ever. The polish is all over my skin on some toes and on others, not even on half the nail. I thought it looked okay at first but the closer I got the more I noticed the terrible job. And as I was moved from the chair to the drying station they lead another woman to the chair I had just sat in with the same equipment they had uses for my toes and began working on her. Not cleaning the bowl or anything. Ew. I would rather do my nails myself or not at all before going here. Save your money and time. 0 stars should be an option. read more

Would leave zero stars if I could. Lousiest pedicure I've ever received. I got a gel manicure and there are bubbles and bumps all over my nails. Worst experience of my life. My finger nails are all jagged at the tips - a toddler could've done a better job. read more

I showed up for a pedicure. I was ready to walk in or make an appointment, it didn't matter. But they took me right in and rushed me into a chair. The attendant barely spoke any English and so from the very start I felt hurried and unable to communicate what I wanted. She couldn't understand any of that and none of the other workers seemed willing to help. All she kept saying was "pick color". A $50 pedi and my feet were only in water for about 5 minutes total. She rushed through the first one or two phases and didn't even remove calluses or trim cuticles. Her leg massage included scratching my shins and calfs up and down over and over in the most aggressive manner I've ever experienced. It not only was bizarre for a pedicure but also, it really hurt. Later she punched my legs and the bottom of my feet. Then she stuck towels on me and disappeared to help someone else. When she got back after about 8 minutes, she rushed through more lotion literally leaving standing lotion on my legs and went right to painting my nails. She had done nothing else to my feet or nails. I had to pull my feet out of my shoes just to wipe off the lotion that she didn't take the time to rub in and later I had to rub a layer of VISIBLE lotion off my legs because she didn't take the time to rub in what she put on. It was terrible. Then I needed a thumb nail repaired. I just need to cover my thumb nail with a powder nail because it splits but she couldn't understand any of that. She ends up taking my previous nail off and then saying, okay. I tried to explain that I needed her to put another one on. Finally the attendant next to me explained that to her. The way she did it was so unorthodox. I swear it was like she was winging it. I've never had a powder nail like this one I have right now. My normal nail technician brushes it on and builds the nail with the powder and solution shaping it and having it dry and then filing it. She literally put a polish on my nail and then shoved my thumb down in the powder several times then finishes it off with a clear polish that doesn't match any of my other nails because I didn't ask for a polish. I know it won't last more than a week and this was far and away the WORST experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I'm not a visitor in this area. I live here in the summer and I feel like this place takes advantage of people because most are tourists and can get away with it. Prices are ridiculous for the service and this technician is not very good at her job. I would have literally been better off painting my own nails because she did so little work on my feet that you can't even tell I had a pedicure. read more

This place is the worst. Our pedicures were finished so fast that we started laughing. 10 minute pedicure from start to finish. The tools didn't come out of a sterilizer. Don't waste your time or money! read more

If you'd like to ruin your pants, go to Elite nails! I had on capris which I folded up to my knees. The overzealous pedicurist kept hitting my folded up capris as she applied lotion...or so I thought. It was an oil and even though I pre-treated my capris and threw them into the laundry as soon as I got home, those capris are history! Pre-treatment and washing did nothing to cut through the oil they used. My $40 pedi cost me that plus my capris. Not cool! read more

Terrible. Consider my review and do not go. Requested a mani pedi today and waited forever just to share 2 different women who did not take the time to do anything. 10 second scrub 60 second massage (only on my legs, none on my hands) and poorly applied nail polish. Not only was the service and skill poor but they were unsanitary! I watched them dump the water bowl from the girl beside me and fill it up for me to soak in...no sanitation for their tools, not even when they drew blood from being so aggressive and rushed on cuticles. I'm so disappointed because I would hope a business would value a customer's dollar more. Oh and the topper was they spoke to each other the whole time while we awkwardly interrupted their conversation by being customers. Will never go back even if they are the last nail business on the planet. read more

Stay away! Do not go to this salon! Our wedding party went there for mani-pedis and it was a disaster. Rude technicians, extremely hot water and we got yelled out for asking it to be adjusted. Poor service, poor results and expensive. Staff could use some sensitivity training. read more

I had to stop in here on vacation for a quick nail repair. Waited a long, long time while they serviced a party of adults and little girls. When I finally got to the chair, the girl who worked on me was very rough. She was trying to lift the acrylic that was already there, and hurt me. I told her "that hurts!" and she just kept going. By the third time she hurt me, I had to yank my hand away, and she brought someone else over to finish the lift. Then, when reapplying and using the hand drill, my nail bed was already sensitive from being ripped up. She was not gentle with the drill at all. My fixed nail is noticably thicker than my other nails, and there is an edge to the bottom of it where it meets my cuticle. My nails are airbrushed, but they do not offer this, and did not tell me this before working on me. So now I have a polish that doesn't match, either. And finally, if you don't mind the workers bantering back and forth in their native language, completely leaving you out of the loop, then you may not mind it here. She made no effort whatsoever to engage me, until it came time to ask me to pay. Would not recommend here unless you ABSOLUTELY have to go! read more

This nail salon was the worst salon I have ever been to! I went to get a mani and pedi during a rainy day on vacation and left there extremely angry. To begin with, the male owner doing my pedicure rushed through the first part of my pedicure, didn't wear gloves, and didn't sanitize any of his equipment before using it on me. Half way through my pedicure he leaves and says "give me one second". After waiting for 20+ minutes with half of my pedicure done, the woman doing my mother's pedicure finished mine. The pedicure was extremely under whelming seeing as we paid extra for a "deluxe package" and barely got a basic pedicure. Moving on to the manicure, the lady doing mine was average. I don't hate my nails but they're not the best whatsoever. She also didn't sanitize her nail equipment which started it off poorly. My mother was getting her manicure done beside me and the male owner (mentioned above) was doing hers. She voiced her dissatisfaction with the service mid-way through her manicure and his only response was "I've been doing this 15 years". For the rest of the manicure, she simply sucked it up and just said "it's fine". After her manicure was done, she asked what I thought of it and I was brutally honest and told her as well as the owner that it was the worst manicure I've ever seen. It was sloppy, rough and sticky; definitely not worth what we paid. After we said it looked bad and wasn't what she wanted, he continued to say "I've been doing this for 15 years" and started screaming at my mother. He then offered a $20 gift card after this encounter, in which we responded by saying we would never come back ever again! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS SALON. IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD AT A SALON!!! read more

We should have consulted Yelp before coming here. I wouldn't say that it was the worst mani/pedi experience I've ever had, but nowhere near the best either. We called ahead, thinking we were making an appointment, only to find out that when we arrived we were going to wait. No worries, since we got extra soaking time in the massage chair. We asked about the prices and the girl only proposed a $40 pedicure and a $55 pedicure, so we opted for the "cheaper" pedicure. We came to a point in the pedicure where my legs were wrapped with hot towels and covered in pink trash bags. Then I was shocked that my girl then proceeds to start from scratch on another person. So I sat there with bags on my legs for a good 20 minutes, until she was done with the other girl. Meanwhile people just keep on coming in and they don't make anyone wait, they put them in massage chair to soak. When my pedi is done they move me to a manicure station, and 5 minutes later I look back and my girl is doing ANOTHER pedicure. This is when I get upset and say something. I've been getting pedi's and mani's for 15+ years and I've never had someone take another person while doing me at the same time. What happened to first come, first serve? Worst part? As we were checking out, we found out that they offer a $25 pedicure, but we never got that option. So not only were they rude, but also deceitful. If you are feeling desperate and decide to go to this place, be sure to block out 5 hours in your schedule! read more

Not friendly or customer focused. They are always rushing in order to get the next customer in the chair. As a result, they do a so-so job on your nails. For the price I paid, I would not go back, but try Klassy Nails or Natural Nails. read more

Wow. NEVER go here. I went here to get a pedicure while on vacation in Nags Head. I had an allergic reaction to whatever they put on my legs (I think it was toothpaste) and my legs were covered in bumps four days. I also had the pleasure of watching them clean the pedicure tub-- using a dirty towel from the previous customer and lukewarm water. Doesn't seem too sanitary to me. I'm not really sure why the reviews are so terrible for this place? The girls were nice, everything was clean, and mine and my friend's nails look great! Went there today for just a pedi with no polish, worst I have ever had. The whole experience lasted about 15 minutes including the two times the girl left to help other customers coming in. She didn't properly trim the cuticles or buff the bottoms, and spent all of 2 minutes on the message. So, basically I paid to have my nails trimmed. My husband was with me, so we paid $50 for nothing. We recently bought a place here and hoped to find a salon we could frequent, guess we will continue the search. read more

WORST PLACE EVER! From the minute I walked in I knew this place was not good. Was here for vacation and got a mani/pedi. Pedicure was very basic. Manicure was the worst. Girl that did my nails was LAZY and wouldn't paint me entire nail and leave no polish on the sides. I pointed it out to her and she didn't even acknowledge what I was saying. I had to pull my hand away and basically force her to fix it! We had my daughter get her nails painted and toes - she's 5 - and they charged $18!!! WHAT!!! First time in my life I never left a tip.
