I got French tip and he didn't add enough of a base so you can see completely through the tip so it doesn't look good at all, and I tried to correct him and he was muffling words under his breath. I live in KDH part time of the year and have gone to this salon for over 10 years but for the last 2 years when I have gone my gel and now powder manicure has chipped on several nails in a day. It is not that I'm ruff on the nails. The first time it happened I went back and they fixed the nails that didn't last but a day. Then the last two times I came back home to Virginia and could not go back as I live 4 hours away, both times my nails chipped in two days. When I go to my nail salon in VA the manicure lady 2 1/2 to 3 weeks! I won't go back after spending $100 for a manicure/petti plus tip it's a waste of money. I do not recommend this salon, I have tried three different technicians and all of them have not been very good. I took pictures this last time and would love to show them when I return. read more

I've been here a few times over the years but felt a real lack of cleanliness and attention to detail in my recent visit. This dip manicure took less than 20 minutes total, and was left very thick and sloppy. During my manicure, nail clippings stuck to the dirty towel from previous clients were flinging around, and many standard steps were skipped entirely (ex. hand washing, shaping/filing of nails, cuticle removal). I came with a group who all got dip mani ($50)+ regular pedis($45) serviced by 5 different workers -- 1 member of my party kept getting coughed on during her pedi between the staff member's multiple smoke breaks. A different member of my party had an ingrown toenail roughly removed without consent and had pain/discomfort in the following days. We all felt it was overpriced for the service we received and the overall cleanliness of the salon. Would advise potential customers to request an appointment with one of the artists who has positive reviews, not just first available. read more

I asked for a basic pedicure and manicure mostly because I needed my cuticles clipped, but also was stressed and wanted to relax. The girl did not give any massage whatsoever. She lightly rubbed my legs for like 15 seconds max. I did love the way my toes turned out in the color. My nails were in worse shape afterwards because they were flaking and she filed them down so much they were peeling and buffed top layers off. I already have weak nails which you can see. I really just missed having the massage because any pedicure I've had before just the basic they at least give you a couple minutes of a foot rub orcalf massage. My nails were not the right color at all. It didn't even look like I had them done and they were chipping within a few hours. Felt rushed and like I wasted money. I also tipped 20% before nails were finished and I wish I could go back to get them fixed. read more

I arrived at Natural Nails shortly after they opened in the morning and they were already busy. I was able to get a walk-in appointment with my mother in law but we weren't able to sit together for our services--which was fine! Pros: My nails and toes look great. Cons: I do wish you could make appointments online as they were probably too busy the entire time we were there so the waiting area was packed and services took a long time as staff were multi tasking. I also wish they had any examples of their nail art as I saw that they have charms and color changing polish, etc. but you couldn't actually see the finished product or any charms/art and I would have loved to have booked something more than basic gel. One of the worst pedicures I've had. I couldn't understand the lady that did my pedi and she was crabby and annoyed that I didn't understand her garbled English, like I was a huge inconvenience. she did a terrible job, with polish all around my toes. I asked her to clean it a bit, and she was even more annoyed with me. I brought my two daughters with me and another male did one daughter and he was nice, but my other daughter had the same lady as me and some of her toes only had half polish on them when we left. The worst part is she asked for a tip and I conceded and said, okay $5 dollars and she wanted to charge me $15 for the 3 of us. I thought a tip was when you appreciate the service. A wonderful experience! My sister got married in the Outer banks and we needed a nail salon to get our nails done. Natural nails got all 6 of us gals in with no issues. We got pedis and Manicures. My pedi was pretty good and I wasn't planning on a manicure because it just doesn't stay on my nails. The nail tech insisted that people who come to her never have issues. So I decided to try it again. She did a wonderful job and it lasted a good 3 weeks! It stinks that I cant remember her name. I'm reticent to leave a harsh review but Natural Nails needs to do better. My daughters have had nails done many times here. Some good experiences and some not so great- but we would continue to return for special occasions. I have been seated for a pedicure and waited so long and ignored that I finally left( 30 minutes) . However I continued to bring my daughters and their friends for nail services.My daughter's last experience was getting acrylic nails removed and a gel manicure. The man who ripped off her nails with pliers ripped off her natural nails in 3 places. This was 3 weeks ago and her nails are still healing. She was bleeding and crying after we left . She was in so much shock and being young she didn't know what to say- there was no apology- just a demand for $30. She didn't get gel on the three nails that were injured. I called the salon and was told by the manager to just come in and they would fix it. It was an abrupt answer. There was no sympathy or concern. I didn't want to " fix" it by having more nail product put on raw nail bed. A so so manicure doesn't warrant the bad review but I feel having someone injured does. I am sad that this local spot has been a bad experience. read more

So... Just how often can you get your nails (hands and feet) done by a good looking, muscular man? This girl just did and it was grand. Anyways, this place is very nice and clean. They seemed busy but were able to take us in. They were very efficient and friendly. For the service, it is affordable. There are lots of color selections and they do just about everything (gel, powder, acrylic, etc). As a former marketing director for the number one luxury brand in the world (you can probably figure it out) I've had the opportunity to travel the globe and have my nails done in some of the best salons in the world. This place is perfect for the OBX which is a resort town where most of ones time is spent on the beach. Its reasonably priced and my nails have never looked better!!! See Rebecca's comments below - I don't know a place who would spend 90 minutes on a manicure to get it right. I would have handed her the money back and said obviously we can't make you happy. Not sure where you can spend $40 on this planet and get 90 minutes of someones time. She couldn't be more wrong about this place. Wow ok where do I begin? 1. Rude customer service: I would expect some type of professional environment at the nail shop I go to. None, cursing and getting frustrated because the nail wasn't doing what it was supposed to, THEN blaming it on the customer at first! Until he realized he shouldn't of put 5 coats of black on and expecting it to dry within 30 seconds. 2. The shape & color: I asked to trim down the nail and reshape it from stiletto(pointy) to coffin (gradual flat tip). Not only did he not make all of the nails the same size/shape, but he made them crooked and uneven not to mention barely put any gel on the base so that the nail would be strong. May I add he cut me a few times with the electric nail shaver. Recap on the all black nails I wanted: at first the man told his wife to paint them and she started painting them purple ... LOL. Second, she had put the first coat of black on which looked fine until he added 3 more coats. (Why???) Got upset with ME saying I wasn't putting them far enough in the dryer which caused a good chuckle. Had to get up and walk away a few times because of his frustration with the nail, leaving me with nails that looked like (see last picture). Eventually I said f*** it paint them a different color and he couldn't even accomplish that correctly !!!! They were bumpy, peeling after they dried, and you could still see the black nail polish underneath! At this point I had been there for 4 hours straight so there was no point in having him redo it. All in all, let this review save you and don't go to Natural Nails. They will naturally mess your nails up. read more

Terrible customer service and experience. My mom and I went in for a pedicure and they instructed us to choose a nail color and the wait wouldn't be "that long." To determine if we wanted to wait or come back when they weren't as busy, we asked a very normal question, "how long do you think the wait realistically will be?" No one responded, so I asked a second time. A different guy from the back comes rushing to the front screaming one hour and making a shooing motion with his hand for us to leave. I am very pleased with my manicure and found their price reasonable. I would return and recommend this salon.
