I enjoyed the green tea pedicure that came with a hot stone massage. It wasn't the hot stone massage I was expecting, but it was delightful and the stones were hot enough to make me flinch a little, which was a good thing. The massage aspect of the pedicure made me put my book down. The tech asked good questions, left the majority of my callouses, and shaped/trimmed the nails just right. Since I wear boots every day to work, the callouses are important. I was happy he realized they had a purpose. My fingers were a mess. The tech asked good questions about shaping and trimming. I went today for a pedicure it was very quick... like 30?minutes. The salon was almost empty( myself and one other person) the nail tech turned off my massage chair and told me to go to the front and get under the dryer.. I asked to stay in the massage chair. The ( I assume owner) came over and repeated for me to move, I again asked to stay in the chair. She rudely pointed to a sign that read a 15$ charge to sit in the chair?! I was a paying customer! Had a great pedicure today. Full treatment with hot stone massage and green tea treatment. Not a lot of conversation but the massage chair felt very nice, the gentleman who did the calf massage was awesome and the lady who cut my toe nails did an excellent job. The tech I saw filed so hard he sliced my finger under the nail, replaced a broken acrylic nail extremely crooked and didn't take the time to clean up polish on cuticles. After calling and being told a full set replacement was 25, I arrive and see clearly it's 40 +$5 removal fee. It's been about 5 hours and my nails are sore! Cuticle/finger cut on several fingers. After leaving and looking more closely I have these grievances with my nails themselves. 1. They are not all the same length 2. They are all slanted different directions 3. They are really thin 4. Under the nail is a layer of acrylic They are rounded nicely around 9 of my 10 nail beds, but 5. Nail beds are tender from bleeding 6. My fingers actually hurt! I won't be going back. The reason why I didn't was because I live in a different state so it wasn't that easy to do so. Yelp apparently made the decision to take that picture down but I will leave this here. Literally the worst pedicure I've had in my life. I've been to their other salon up the road and had a good experience so this is not what I was expecting today. I was in the chair for 15 minutes... it's like she was rushing through it as fast as she could. 15 minutes, really?! With no one waiting? And as fast as it was, you can imagine the lack of quality. Nails trimmed too short and unevenly, had to ask to wipe excess paint from all over my skin. Even when I asked to fix throughout and mentioned how horrible this experience was, the owner had nothing to say. Go anywhere else but here if you want a relaxing, quality pedicure. DO NOT GO HERE! This will be a long one due to a terrible experience. I came to OBX with my boyfriends family and decided to get my nails done because they looked atrocious to say the least. Elite nails was probably the absolute worst salon I could have chosen to receive a good full acrylic gel set. I typically don't get my nails done at salons for these reasons but figured what the heck, I'm on vaca. Well from the start their list of prices say that a full set with gel is 50+. I understand that the price can be a little more expensive due to longer length, designs, etc. At the end I was charged 65. They said that the tip that they have to glue on for the acrylic was $5, which any reasonable person would have thought it was included with the acrylic application. At least at every other salon I've been to it is. They charged me 5 more dollars because I asked for a coffin shape, again at every other salon you were able to get whatever shape for no additional charge. Especially for a coffin shape considering they have to cut off product instead of add more. They also charged me 5 dollars because I got "long nails." I do not get long nails because I cannot work with long nails. The nails I received are a little over short and just short of a medium. The overpricing was completely infuriating because I should not have been charged for certain step of the process that should have been included in the starting price. If they legitimately charge for some of these things then the extra charges should be stated on their pamphlet and website. And of course it does not stop there. They did a terrible job on the acrylic and gel itself. The acrylic nor the gel come up to my cuticles, instead it looks like it has grown out for a week when in reality I got them done the day before yesterday. Speaking about the cuticles, they did not clean them up, trim, or push them back. Just left them looking terrible. When they went to put on the gel, it was a very half fast job. The gel at the top of the nails looks very clumpy and not smooth. At the sides you can see how when the second coat was put on they didn't go over the first coat so it looks layered and not neatly done. They also didn't paint the tips on the nails, which should be a given. If I would have asked them to paint the tip it probably would have been another ridiculous 5 dollar charge. I also asked the lady to file one nail down a little bit more on the top of the acrylic because it was uneven and instead of actually fixing it she turned to her co worker and started trash talking me in her language. After the cured the glossy coat I can see very visible bumps in the gel, wether it be from dust or air bubbles. All of the nails are uneven and poorly done. Save yourself the time and the money and go somewhere else. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Went in today for two pedicures and 2 manicures. First, the language barrier was difficult but we worked through it (or so I thought). Our pedicures were $27 for the "basic" service (the next level was $40). I usually don't scoff at price, but $40 for what I usually receive as a basic seemed high. The $27 gets you the soak, a quick rub of a pumice stone and lotion massage. They didn't trim our cuticles nor did they exfoliate. I did note the $40 includes exfoliating but didn't notice where the cuticle trimming started. I had asked to have my liquid gel soaked off. They wrapped them during my pedicure, but it didn't even take the gel polish off. After about 5 minutes of her drilling the color off my nails she stopped and asked if I wanted them filed. I reminder her I wanted them taken off and she was confused. After asking for translation assistance she soaked my nails again, but it didn't seem to make a difference after soaking so she drilled my nails until they were *literally* paper thin. I could bend my nail in half and I had to keep asking her to stop because it was painful!! My step-daughter has a painful experience as well. They cut her nails down almost to the quick and even pulled skin out from under her (once) beautiful nails. The paint job looks sloppy on both. We both commented that our nails looked better BEFORE we went. My total bill was $129. $129 for manis and pedis!! I don't mind paying more for gel removal but my daughter's mani lasted 10 minutes max and they charged $36 for her. $129 and they destroyed our nails on top of it. Save your money and your sanity and stay far, far away from "Elite Nails." read more

The gruesome details are far too numerous for this review, nor do I wish to further aggravate myself. Sufice it to say, I should have Yelped Elite Nails prior to making the appointment for a ManiPed, and I should have followed my instincts to leave when we arrived for the 9:30am appointment and the shop was manned by only one guy wearing two bluetooth headsets. My friend had to wait about 15 min for another employee to show up... a third employee straggled in about 15 min thereafter and there walk-ins waiting with no one to service them. The apparent pack leader laughed when I pulled away as he used the coarser file on my toes and it ripped into the skin. The morning proceeded from a horrible pedi onto an even worse manicure that concluded with polish that was bubbling and disfigured because "headset" did not fully remove the old polish. The only finger to turn out well was the one I made him do over three times because I could see big bumps in the polish as he kept adding more & more coats rather than getting to the base of the problem. This photo (Tips) is about 15 min after the completion of the manicure... the biggest insult: I was charged $5 to soak my nails for 5 minutes in a bowl full of polish remover and he didnt bother to fully scrape the reminents off before proceeding. The guy taking my money ignored my comment when I pointed this out to him... and when I asked if that was approperate he pointed to "headset" and said to take it up with him. Needless to say someone as uninclined to do a credible job, someone whos standards for performance are as hopeless as this, isnt really interested in my expectations as a customer. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The nail tech ripped my toe cuticle on the SECOND TOE in and I started bleeding-- almost as soon as she started. She saw me wince (obviously it hurt and was stinging), to which she shrugged her shoulders and gave an insincere apology. I wanted to get up and leave but stayed since I was with a wedding party. The rest of my pedicure went ok but she hardly filed or shaped my nails for my manicure (perhaps because she saw that I didn't tip her well when I signed my credit card receipt). My nail polish is wavy, not smooth, and she smudged some of the corners when she was digging out the extra nail polish from the edges of my nails. Every time I look at my nails it just makes me angry. And I'm super worried about getting a nail fungus on my toe from where she ripped my cuticle. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I should have read the reviews first. They got me in with a $37 mani/pedi, up sold me the deluxe pedi and took away the combination discount. What a rip off! $120 for my grand daughter and me. The deluxe was suppose to come with EXTRA massage that turn out to be a quick lotion rub with the only pressure on my shins. Who needs pressure on their shins? No massage on the calf! My best friend made appointments for her bridal party here this past week. They were able to accommodate almost all 10 of us at once for pedicures. However, their rushed service proved ominous--a few of the ladies had to ask the nail tech to go back and file/smooth/repaint because of their lacking attention to detail. Once the French manicures were completed, the result was very disappointing. Again, many of us had to go back to have nails fixed. One of the girls, who received a particularly terrible manicure, had to get her nails redone the very next day due to chipping. The location is clean and presentable, but our overall experience felt like a cattle call. We got in and out very quickly, but we realized we could have done a better job ourselves. Getting a mani/pedi has become a vacation tradtion with my best friend. We went here because we could see it from the front of our rental house. I have to say I was less than impressed. During the pedicure, my manicurist kept asking me if I wanted a design for extra money and I kept politely declining. And she ask me again, and again but she would ask in deceptive ways like 'You want design, right?" No!! Also she really didn't massage my foot or anything, I was in and out of that chair in no time. In regards to the manicure, that was all fine. I wasn't really a fan of their uv lights subsituting for heated dryers. I kept sitting there because I didn't really have anything to go on to keep time of how long I had been there. I went with my friends on a rainy day while on vacation. I got a pedicure and my 3 friends got mani cures. My pedicure took a total of about 15 minutes and is the worst pedicure i have ever received. After my pedicure was finished I sat with my friends while the employees bounced from person to person to do their nails. One of my friends still had her nails soaking in the nail polish remover when I finished my pedicure (thats way too long to soak nails). This place is under staffed and they don't put much effort into any of their treatments. I added a $7 "callous treatment" that was literally just the lady using a metal grater on my foot, which i could have done myself at home. They do not sanitize any of their equipment or wear gloves, this was the worst part. The only sanitary thing that they did was put a plastic bag looking thing in the bowl where I soaked my feet. Worst. Service. Ever. 1 star is too generous. I walked in and asked for a gel polish mani and spa pedi. It should have been a red flag when the 1st chair/greeter interrupted her existing client to put some clampy things with ALREADY USED cotton and acetone on my fingers to soak off my existing gel polish. The next red flag was when the 'trash can' next to 1st chair's station is filled with toe spreaders that are also ALREADY USED. Then I went back to the pedi chair and started a "deluxe" pedi and sat there for 1 hour with mask and what were once hot but are now ice cold towels wrapped around my legs with some clear red garbage bags that were........ You can guess by now..... ALREADY USED. I sat for an hour with acetone on my fingers and towels in my legs because they interrupted my appointment to take five walkins for pedis. I wiped the mask off my legs, took the clampy things with used cotton off of my fingers and left. If it were the last manicure and pedicure on earth and it was free, I will still never go back. Ever. Wonderful!!! I am a backpack tourist. I traveled around from South to East. I arrived to Outer Bank on Thusday. Because of the bad weather, I got in to Elit Nail spa. I relaxed myself by a pedicure service which named Pearl pedicure. That's awesome, my skin came smooth and I felt relax completely.
