Horrible staff. Extremely rude. One of my nails broke next day after having them done. The guy there was very obnoxious. He almost filed right through my skin. When I said "ouch, be careful". He replied "beauty hurts". I then told him getting nails done is not supposed to hurt, his reply was "well all nail salons are different". Overall was a horrible experience. And everything was going good til the lady doing my nails cut me bc she was filing to fast..... and she had cut my friend too.. and when I said something ab it she said "oops" and then keeps going deeper and deeper. Haha WOW ok. I am learning SO much about my new hood. haha. Oh ,my goodness. As I type this review with my newly applied full set of acrylics, I can only laugh when I think of my experience at Elite Nails. It was .. unique to say the least. I'll just say this - Elite is NOT a bad place to get your nails done - they actually have a good amount of experience here! However, it was my first and last time here, only because it really didn't "fit" ME. lemme s'plain... Ok so this is not the newest salon. In fact its really closer to 30 years old if I had to guess. This is an educated guess, as a lifetime customer walked in a moment after I did and she admitted her age of 21 years.. and that she'd been attending with her mother since she was still in the womb. That was definately comforting - and I can see why, the staff and all of the customers that came in after me (the noob) were on a first name basis (and much more) with eachother! Ok so they can keep customers, thats evident. Its just easy for me to say that they are lucky I've seen a few things and been a few places so my skin is tougher than most and no Im not shocked by much these days.. because my goodness are they crass and sorta vulgar with the customers... at ease is one thing, but too comfortable is another. Examples during my visit: Upon walking in - I was greeted kindly then the lady (who owns the place) said Hey! You are new! You aren't from around here are you!? I smiled and said yes. . Seeing as how they were kinda busy and they only had ONE single pedicure chair that looked like it had seen better days, I opted for just the full set but i really did want a pedi. The only other employee there , a guy , told me to get a color and sit down in any open chair. .. I did pick a color.. but not before listening to him go to another room with the door open and LOUDLY clear his throat, snot box and spit nastily like ultra loud. There's no music or background noise in this tiny place so it was heard by all.. but didn't seem like a big deal to anyone else. Right there i was kinda turned off but pressed for time on a Friday afternoon, so I stayed,. Throughout my new full set application both of them took turns working on me while alternating the other regulars in the place. During my appointment, a handful of others walked in and enjoyed a pow wow.. with their friends.. and the baby daughter of the owner's in a back room .. discussing some very colorful topics... again nothing shocks me, but I wasn't impressed with the ultra lax environment. Call me stuck up if you want, but I go to a salon to RELAX while someone else makes me slightly less icky than when I walked in. I assure you theres none of that here.. its really not a relaxing experience. I bet its worse when its not close to their closing time ( i walked in an hour before) My full set was nicely done, though a bit longer than I needed, I decided not to fuss and be there longer. I had a set of green acrylic tips put on and pinks for the nail beds. Before they dried they looked like watermelons.. see photo... but they actually finished up quite nice! My honest suggestion to this place is - Please for god sake - CLEAN UP! The once white shades in the windows are so off putting - and it doesn't look like someone has really just taken a sponge or some clorox to any surface here in over 10 years. The Chairs are NOT comfy and just about every fixture or surface could severely use an update( especially the grimy sign that s as dated as the posters in here) I saw signs for tanning but I can't imagine a bed in this place would be all that clean, if its used at all. Just a little more giving a shit would help this place that seems to be well loved tremendously. I am overall satisfied with my nails, not that I would say they were done badly at all, its just not an experience I'd again look forward to. I'll go back if i'm in a pinch but after having gone acrylic free for over 10 years I was reminded why I abstained in the first place , pretty quickly. read more

Kim and "Ocean Tuna" (Fish) are an absolute riot! If you're in the area looking for an inexpensive full set of acrylics or gels, or a mani, pedi, or anything else you would expect at a nail salon, along with some light banter and a friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go. My nails look stunning and as of the date of this review (11 Jan, 2023), the full acrylics set and gel polish cost me only $35 (but of course I gave a hefty tip after experiencing the service!). Are Kim and Fish blunt? Yes. You walk in, they immediately direct you to the hand washing station. They don't seem to stand for nonsense. But they know their regulars like family and will treat them as such - both kind and frank. I can't wait to return for a fill in three weeks, and I plan to return again and again. Kim is especially lovely, even if she is a bit distracted by whichever movie or drama she has playing in the background. She is experienced and talented enough to do straight, well shaped, well polished nails even while watching a film. Fish seems more all-business at first but after a few minutes of chatting he started cracking his own jokes as well. There were up to three other clients in the salon at the same time as me (mildly busy despite it being a Wednesday afternoon - make sure to call ahead for an appointment on weekends!) yet I was never made to feel rushed or like I was simply another client. Kim went out of her way to include me in chats with her other regulars. I was recommended this place by one of their regular clients, and I can't wait to become one as well. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. First off, I asked to get ombré dip powder done and they said no because my nails are too short. (I've gotten ombré done before at a different salon with this length so that really bothered me) So I ended up with a solid dip powder and the lady was very rough and cut me multiple times. I'd say ouch and she'd keep going. I made an appointment but felt it was very rushed anyways. I left with bleeding cuticles, it was extremely painful washing my hands afterwards! Also, my nails are thick and VERY sloppily done. This was not the relaxing, pleasant experience I was hoping it to be. read more

"what are you color blind? somthing said to me. i got a white french tip when i asked for a green french tip with hearts. not only that but the designs all missing. worst experience ever. I went here for the first time to get a fill. The staff was super rude, expecting me to know where everything was when they were aware I was a new client. The woman proceeded to aggressively slam her nail file down repeatedly to get my attention and tell me where to sit. Not to mention they ran over half an hour late as they had 4 customers in the salon with only 2 employees. I may have been able to overlook most of this had the nails been good quality, however less than 24 hours after my fill my nails broke while changing. I will not be returning here and will go back to my old salon. read more

Steer clear of this nail salon. There were roaches crawling on the floor, fruit flies flying all around the acrylic and mine and my daughter's face. The people are beyond rude. The guy was sleeping behind the counter on the floor with a blanket and makeshift pillow -the lady was SCREAMING at him to wake up and come take a client. He was angry, rude, aggressive, and was not happy he had to wake up and do his job at 12 in the afternoon. My nails came out horrible and so did my daughter's after paying $80 for a full set and a fill with one broken nail to fix and a design my daughter didn't like the design this lady just threw on her nail so my daughter decided she wanted the design taken off and just painted red like the rest of the nails. The lady refused ...FLAT. OUT. REFUSED. I mean this design looked like a 1 year old got a hold of nail polish and drew the design it was HORRIBLE. So after arguing with her that my daughter wasn't satisfied and we would like to take off the design she told us she would take it off and to never come back to her establishment...HAHAHAHA LIKE THAT WAS EVER Going TO HAPPEN AFTER I SPOTTED THE ROACH KILLER SPRAY ON THE COUNTER AND ROACHES CRAWLING ON THE FLOOR. They were next to the bathroom, on top of the sink. Disgusting. This place is absolutely nasty, and needs a visit from the board of health. I just LOVE coming here! I've been coming here for 5 years now to get my nails done and they always do a FANTASTIC job, I never leave disappointed. I highly recommend for people to come here to get their nails done, my acrylics always come out AMAZING. I've had my nails done here for homecoming, prom, Christmas, etc. Any design I've chosen for them to do they have always done it and have even changed it a little bit to make it their own which always comes out amazing. I will always come here to get my nails done, I have even moved recently from Gardner, MA to Elizabeth City, NC and I will still always come here whenever I'm in Gardner visiting my family. I just love love love this place. My nails also last over a month and a half, I just take them off after a month to a month and a half from my nails growing out, you can get them filled in I just never go because I'd rather have them redone and get a whole new design. They have very good prices, they even have 2 pedicure chairs. I love coming here to Kim and her husband. read more

I went here about a week and a half ago if that and my nails are already falling off, the clear coat starting peeling/coming off a couple days later. And they also laughed at my self harming scars. I would not recommend this place. At all! They're rude and the quality of the nails are horrible. read more
