I'm not located in town so I trusted her to take care of the estate sale of all the belongings. She seemed busy to I did not pester her as much as I should have. It's been over a year since we began the sale process, and I have yet to receive a single dollar from her, despite her records showing nearly $30,000 in sales. At this point she is unresponsive. After running a background report on Shelly Ruwe, I found dozens of judgments against her dating back to the early 2000s. People sued her for not paying for goods and services, both in small claims court and civil court. Do not trust her with your belongings, property, or money.

One of the movers called about 12:30, said they would be here in 45 minutes to an hour. About 1:45 I tried calling them as they had not arrived yet. No answer. They finally answered about 2:45. They said their truck broke down. The office was going to send other movers over. I tried calling the office. No answer. Finally about 3:30 I received a text from the office, canceling the move. I was left with a truck full of furniture and no movers. Thank goodness I finally was able to find other movers. So if you need movers to load or unload your truck, do NOT schedule with this company. Moving day is stressful enough without adding this kind of BS!

However, be aware that Jason King asked for a $100.00 deposit prior to making reservation for move. When movers completed work and gave itemized list of charges they did not include the deposit as a credit. I have called, emailed and texted Jason but no response, so I guess I'm out the 100 bucks. BE AWARE!! UPDATE: Soon after posting review Jason reached out and apologized for not addressing the issue in a timely fashion. I was reimbursed the deposit. I will leave the rating at 3 Stars, because you shouldn't have to complain on social media to get action.

Getting in touch with the team was a challenge, as the people you call are the same people working. So, expect to get voicemail and returned calls late. We had enough time, so delays were not a problem. Packing was efficient and effective. They worked quickly, had everything they needed, and nothing was missing or broken. Loading and unloading involved seasoned workers who knew what they were doing. They loaded and unloaded the same day, which was tough for the size of our house. They misjudged what their trucks could hold and brought a third. No damage to either house or to our things, which is rare. Also, the team was trustworthy. They did not take anything for themselves. The cost estimate was significantly off. The move cost twice what we expected. We did ask them to pack more than we told them at the quote. But, the sticker-shock was palpable. It cost several thousand more than quoted. But, they didn't damage anything as we moved from one 100 yr old house to another. 3.75 stars. Degrades due to cost.

I had an issue with timing & wrote the management about things & they got back to me promptly to handle my issue. I'd hire them again and I'd recommend their service to anyone looking to hire a good moving company in the Omaha area.

I had more miscellaneous scratches than expected on wooden floors and dinged the paint. But I would not have left a bad review based on that. When the crew arrived, they told me that they didn't have enough time to do my move because they had a seven hour move scheduled afterwards. I told them that I had described the situation to the estimator, saying that I could tell them the big items but simply had no idea how many boxes I would have. She suggested a number and gave me an hourly rate which I found acceptable, assuming that they would stay until the work was done at that hourly rate. Instead, I got 2/3 of my house moved. Some of that was my fault because I could've been more accurate if I had been finished packing when I made the appointment, but based on the shear number of rooms and large items I described the estimator could've done a much better job, or told me to call back as the moving day got closer so that I could update the estimate to assure enough time. Even if that, I would've gone back to the devil I knew too to finish the move. There were a few things that needed to be corrected from the move the prior weekend that I assumed they would do when they came back out, but when I called the next week to schedule the second move, the estimator he told me that he would charge for it in my current move despite the fact that it was work was left undone from the previous move. When I noted this, he said that they would've sent a crew out at no charge but they couldn't do it for free when they were sending new crew out. That was the final straw and I decided to use a different company.

I told them at the time, I have a large 1 bedroom and I would need help moving and packing. They gave me the amounts for 2 men and 1 truck and packing rates, so we booked it. The day before the move, they call to confirm the appointment for 11am the next day. She said "you just need men to move, right? You are using your own vehicle and we are just packing up your vehicle." "Umm.... no.... I scheduled 2 men, 1 truck, and packing" Turned out, one of their trucks is broke, they only have 1 and there was something else scheduled that day that required the truck. Okay... Well as long as you show up at some point to help me pack and move TOMORROW we are ok. Fast forward to the next day. I call them around noon to get a message to their movers that I was going to get pizza and not to eat lunch. They tell me then that the other job was double the inventory and they were sending extra people there to help. Uhhh why the f* arent you sending people to my house too to help me pack?! I am a paying customer as well! So i find someone to help me for a little bit that day. THINKING THEY WERE STILL COMING. 4pm I get a call. They can't move me today. Uhh... excuse me?! "Well I don't really have a choice NOW. It's 4pm, not like I can call a different moving company and hopefully I won't get charged by my apartment complex because I am supposed to be out TONIGHT". Whatever. They show up the next day at 1130. The first guy walks in and gives the dirtiest douchebag look around my apartment. Yes asshole, I know I have a lot of stuff. "You said yesterday you would just need us for big things" "Well, that was also YESTERDAY WHEN YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE AND I HAD HELP YESTERDAY! I don't have help today, so you have to move my whole apartment! And help me pack!" They were not interested in that. I think the one guy stood around for 10 minutes talking shit about how much more he has to do today. UMM... ASSHOLE should have been here yesterday! He kept giving these dirty looks and smart ads comments. The other guy was more polite. The jerk claimed they couldn't move open boxes. OKKKKK THAT'S WHY I TOLD YOU I NEEDED HELP PACKING! Now, was I going to be a b* that day? Heck no,! They were moving my stuff and the one guy was obviously pissed already, they would have been throwing my stuff around and breaking it. I kept my trap shut. I even tipped them after it took 5 HOURS FOR THEM TO MOVE ME. Ok I wouldn't be mad about them taking 5 HOURS, if they had helped me pack like I asked. Instead, I get back to my old apartment later to clean and there was stuff everywhere! They had I packed some boxes and put shit in my closet like I couldn't see what was there. I had to call a friend at last minute to help me get the rest of the stuff from my apartment. It filled AN ENTIRE TRUCK BED AND THE ENTIRE EXTENDED CAB PLUS MY CAR. AND THERE IS STILL MORE LEFT AT MY OLD APARTMENT! So not only did I pay 500+$ for them to move me, they didn't move everything, he left shit upstairs, and they didn't help me pack, OH AND I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE MY OLD APARTMENT STILL BECAUSE THEY WERE A DAY LATE. Oh, but I got free boxes. Yay??? I took pictures of all the BOXES (closed) they left.

I had a very disappointing experience with College Hunks and would not use them again…read more This was a move from a two-bedroom, one-office townhome to another home just 1.5 miles away, with many items already packed. Even so, Day Two lasted from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 p.m., which is excessive for a move of this size and distance. The most concerning issue was undisclosed property damage. Basement stair railings were broken during the move and never mentioned. I discovered the damage myself, and the broken pieces had been hidden behind a water heater. A dresser drawer knob was also broken and not disclosed. Several items were mishandled -- sofa legs were removed and never reattached, cushions were left piled in the basement, and a treadmill was disassembled without my consent, with an extra part later found hidden. The treadmill was less than ayear old and I found the part under some blankets. Packing quality was extremely poor. I found broken dishes, and many boxes appeared to be dumped directly from drawers with little to no packing, resulting in boxes that looked like piles of junk when opened. This raises serious questions about why the move took so long, given the lack of care taken. One of the movers took over 45 minutes to wrap a club chair. I was ultimately charged about three times what I was quoted. The team lead wanted me to have him and the lead mover come to my home and discuss my concerns! I told him I was not comfortable with that. They have my claim and detailed report. This is a service issue that management needs to handle. There was no need for the two of us to get in a room and both tell our sides ofthe story. After several weeks, the team lead offered a small settlement, which I declined because it would not have covered the documented damage, let alone the misuse of time and materials. After that, communication stopped until I disputed part of the charges with my credit card company. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company.
