Oh what a night! I was delighted to be included in this elite event, the launch of the summer menu at East restaurant, in the Spencer Hotel. The hotel itself is really gorgeous, reminiscent of an opulent cruise ship with its streamlined wood finish on the walls and porter hole windows, steel topped bars and grand marble foyer, I was immediately impressed. I was welcomed by the glamorous Emily and shown to the table, where I was offered a choice of 3/4 signature cocktails. I opted for the cucumber and wasabi martini. It's tastes as unusual as it sounds but it's delicious! Paul, the manager, personally greeted each guest and was full friendly chat as we got to know everyone else at the table. He then gave us some info on the hotel and about the food we were about to be eating. I felt that his enthusiasm was so genuine that I was really excited to try the food, I love when someone is so proud of their product and service that they can speak with such confidence, he mentioned the "East Lamb Curry" and claimed it would be the best lamb we'd ever try, so I knew this was going to be fun! A selection of starters arrived - duck and vegetable spring rolls with Dillon sauces (I didn't try these but they looked fantastic!), chicken satay skewers - delicious, probably the best I've tried, sticky spare ribs (not for me), and for me the 2 stars of the starters - monkfish tempura with teriyaki dipping sauce - the monkfish was so perfectly delicate it was a delight, and so rare to get it cooked so nicely! The other real winner for me were the prawn dumplings, served with soy, ginger and wasabi, so fresh and tasty. Really good. I opted for the red wine and was delighted to see one of my favourite wines on offer - a Chilean called Urmenta, which I haven't seen often but really love. We were asked to swap places then, and settled in for the main courses. Out came Thai green chicken curry (nice but very mild), beef in soy and basil sauce (delicious), calamari Kung po (not for me, the calamari was overdone, tasty veg and sauce though!), an amazing nasi goreng that was served with a chicken satay skewer and fresh veggies on the side, very visually impressive, then chicken chow mein - really very tasty. The winner for me however was the east lamb curry, il give it to Paul, it was the best lamb curry I've ever tasted. Spicy but not overpowering and melt in the mouth tender. This is my absolute favourite way to eat - a bit of everything, if food was served like this more often in restaurants I'd be in food heaven, being able to order 4 small dishes instead of one each! I know this was a tasting night but if this option ever happened here at Easy they would get sick of the sight of me visiting so often!! Seat swap again and on to desserts! These were so pretty and the mousses were delicious. I finished up with Lynchburg lemonade cocktail, I was impressed to see this on the cocktail menu, it not often is, and it was made perfectly! It was lovely to get to meet the chefs, manager, extremely friendly staff and get to try some amazing food and drinks. I will definitely be recommending East restaurant and will be back soon to try more of that amazing curry - and find out the secret recipe for it :) Thanks again to Emily, Nicola and Paul for such a wonderful night.

An evening of sexy starters, succulent sweets, moreish mains and VIP treatment - it was hard to stop picking at the assortment of grub presented to us at this fabulous Elite Event. We sampled diverse Asian Fusion dishes from East's menu - which, luckily for us, also included a comprehensive compilation of cocktails. These were presented to us by kind, competent staff. Paul, the manager, talked us through what we were eating, and even introduced us to the chef. I had been a little anxious that my fussy diet might leave me hungry, but there was an abundance of food to suit any dietary requirements. At the end of an evening filled with great chats and an even greater strain on waistbands - we received lovely little goodie bags, complete with cupcakes and a voucher. I was fortunately enough to win a lunch so now I get to share the whole experience with my best bud! Thanks Emily & the Yelp team!!!!!

I had a lovely night! The dinner was wonderful. I really liked everything I tried. The food was so well-prepared and delicious. It was also nice how Paul - the manager - was engaged with us and with the food. We got to know the chef as well and he answered a few questions about the menu. Next time I go there (I will def go back) I would have: spring rolls for starter, spicy lamb for main and passion fruit cheese-cake for dessert. Those were my prefered but we tried so much more. The drinks! Also amazing. The cherry and coconut cocktail was out of this world - and Im not even a cocktail person =) We all received a goodie bag in the end as a gift. And guess what? I found a free lunch voucher for 2 inside my fortune cookie hahaha I loved that! Thanks to Emily and to the lovely staff at the East Restaurant at The Spencer hotel

Oh man... Asian Fusion like I have never tasted in Dublin! Thank you Yelp, Emily C. and the amazing folks at East Restaurant for hosting us. Greeted by the ever so smiley manager, Paul Quinn... He made each and every one of us feel very welcome and very excited about the night ahead. Cocktail on arrival and no, I don't mean a pre-made bowl of punch... These were 5 star cocktails freshly prepared with a range of choice for us to pick from. I opted for the Cucumber and Wasabi martini and I loved it! First of all, it seemed subtle and then slowly the wasabi comes into play. Love it... Next up, yes, next up... They did not skim on them, I had the coconut and berry mojito which was sweet but super freshing. Check out the pics! Treated to a number of starters from there summer menu; I sampled everything expect the ribs and couldn't fault any of it. Everything was flavoured so well, the tempura monkfish was unreal but the knockout dish for me was the prawn steamed dumplings! I would come back and just order a large portion of these and ask them to keep 'em coming. Everything was laid on with abundance, no effort spared and there was plenty to go around with Paul, the main man, ensuring if we needed more of anything he would get on it. Being super 100% content with the cocktails they served, I was stunned to see them come around offering a White or Red to now have with the food. Kudos, for this... Way over and beyond what any of us expected. The mains started to rock out, the smell of the aroma and spices filled the room and there was very excited eyes roaming the tables. First up I tried the Thai Green Curry, then a lamb curry and a spicy beef shake dish; and the flavours just kept coming. Paired with steamed rice, they also served up some amazing sauces to make your food explode even more, not for the faint hearten, but right up my street! Paul continued to talk us through the menu being served up and emphasised on the freshness of the ingredients and the made to order so everything could be ordered vegetarian, mild, medium, hot, super hot and again, they have options there for Gluten Free diners, so man... This place is really catering for the public which is so lovely to hear, never will I feel like I am putting the chef of this place out if I ask for a variation of a dish, like I would fee in some other place. The chef also came out to see us which was a lovely touch, a native of Malaysia, he brought over his mama's special recipes and cooking styles... Boy, are we glad he's here in Ireland sharing the asian fusion love with us! I loved the evening spent here, I look forward to coming back, already plotting an occasion and to wrap this all up, to those Yelpers I met at this event, was a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you... hope to see you all again at another Yelp event.

Had such a fantastic evening here last night- thank you to Emily and the lovely staff at the Spencer Hotel (Paul the manager is brilliant!). We could choose from one of their many cocktails when we arrived and I opted for something a bit more adventurous than usual- a chilli and lychee martini. It was very very good and I would definitely return to get it again! We had a massive array of food and were lucky enough to taste a lot of dishes from the new summer menu. To start we sampled monkfish tempura, shrimp dumplings (my favourite), duck spring rolls, chicken satay skewers, and veg spring rolls. Everything was super tasty and I loved the ornate soy sauce holder. Mains arrived which were chicken green curry, eastern lamb (AMAZING!), singapore noodles, nasi goreng, sea bass with soy bean paste, beef with basil and soy and kung po calamari. So we really did have a taste of almost everything on the menu. It was all absolutely delicious but my stand outs were the lamb, calamari and beef. I am already craving that lamb again! By the time dessert came I was very very full but of course I managed a few bites! We had a lovely selection of cheesecakes, sticky toffee pudding and a mixed berry tart. This was all washed down nicely with another cocktail- this time a very refreshing coconut and cherry mojito. I am very much looking forward to returning to East at the Spencer soon for some more of their delicious food and cocktails!

This was brilliant event! The food, service, and entire evening was perfect! I was well impressed with East and it totally blew away any notions I had about the menu when I arrived there. The food was perfect and the service under Paul and his staff was exquisite. I also enjoyed meeting many Yelpers whom I had not had the pleasure of dining with previously. All in all an amazing evening. Well done Emily!

From the moment I had my seat, the atmosphere, the decor, the ambiance, the management - already phenomenal. Paul, the manager, absolutely has his heart into his work and it shows from the moment you arrive. The restaurant is called East. The food style is Asian Fusion. The chef is fantastic. He uses a lot of recipes from his home. He's tamed the spices in the dishes down a lot to fit the Irish palette. However, the perfect amount of tamed, when you have the curry you'll be left with the perfect amount of heat in your mouth, an actual 'this tastes good' heat instead of something just being unnecessarily spicy. The cocktails, so refreshing. My favorite was the Green Jasmine Tea Cocktail, which used Vodka for the alcoholic content. I think I'll dub it my cocktail of the summer. The perfect amount of freshness. I've never seen a cocktail made with herbal tea like that! My favorite starter was the shrimp dumplings. Steamed to perfection in a bamboo box with cabbage underneath! Most people think dumplings are a heavier choice, but this was PERFECT for summer. My favorite main course was the green thai curry. It held a little more heat than the red curry, but the flavor was just unique enough to call it my favorite. Finally, dessert! Most of the desserts were mousse based, and all delicious. My favorite however was a type of berry tart, which had a more pudding based filling and topped with fresh summer berries! All of this topped off with a cappuccino for coffee of choice. And, of course, it was prepared as a cappuccino should be. I really can't express how amazing the staff and management were - The most accommodating place I've been to since being in Ireland. They have vegetarian and gluten free options for all their dishes because they're all cooked fresh from scratch - you can't beat that! Right now they're having a 2 courses for 20 euro lunch special. I certainly had my favorites, but everything I tired was delicious so I'd say go for whatever sounds good to you!

Delightful. This is a great word to describe last night's "Summer Menu Launch" that felt more like a "Summer Menu Party". I loved joining Elite's private events on such an amazing occasion. First of all, The East Restaurant is located in the side entrance of the Spencer Hotel close to the Docklands and IFSC; a very beautiful area. The weather was gorgeous and people I met there were lovely and chatty. The décor of the place is fancy with a touch of refinement; pretty intimate and inviting. Every detail was perfectly organized and the staff were helpful and extremely happy to be working there. To start, we were spoiled with several cocktails; my favorite ones were the jasmine green tea with pear vodka and the coconut and cherry mojito. The food was divided on the table and there were options for vegetarians, pescatarians, gluten intolerants and the ones who devour it all. As a starter I had veggie spring rolls with chili sauce, prawns steamed dumplings and tempura monkfish. As a main, I tried vegetarian noodles, sea bass with salad, calamari and fried rice. There was so much food on our table and the brave ones tried all sorts of chili and different types of curry. As a dessert, a lovely strong cuppa and a mixed plate of assorted miniature cakes. Paul, the manager was resourceful and even brought the Malaysian chef to be greeted by us and he was happy to reply to any cooking questions. To finish the night each one of us received a goodie bag with a cupcake, nail file, lipstick and a voucher with discount to eat in there next time; very thoughtful. The presentation, atmosphere, service, ingredients and company were absolutely fantastic; all the spirits were high and everyone felt pampered. Such a delight!

ONE NUMBER TO GO! Unfortunately for me, I never got to shout blingo, but I very much enjoyed the experience. If I was to give some criticism it would be the following: 1. We found it very difficult to hear the numbers being called out. We sat right down the back as there were no other seats. I know there was a light up sign with the numbers, but I would highly recommend this be put up higher for all to see. 2. No non-alcoholic beers?! I don't really drink, so i would usually grab a non-alcoholic beer. I figured there wouldn't be an issue seeing as I had two tickets and would happily trade both for one. However as they weren't part of the deal, I opted for a soft drink which wasn't exactly ideal. 3. The wings could be a wee bit better. Maybe I'm spoiled from spending so much time at Blue Bar, but the wings were just okay to me. From speaking with my table, we all agreed. These minor issues aside, yes I would probably attend another blingo night at 4 dame lane, price depending.

What i really enjoyed about the class is that you rotate partners ever 5 minutes or so. Quite like speed dating but with dancing. It is a great way to meet new people and sure if you are stuck with someone you aren't too keen. Well it means you won't be dancing with them for the duration of the class. Happy days. And the teachers, Ray and Paola, have a great banterous rapport with each other with helped me and my two left feet feel at ease during the class. The only con that I had was the class was quite a full for the size of the space. There was still room to dance but it did result in a few collisions. Since it was my first time there I'm not sure if this is usually the case but it won't be stopping me from attending next week.

There was a really positive vibe and a complete lack of judgement. And Naoimh is spot on, it was a bit like speed-date dancing, and it was great to see that everyone was so nice to each other. I'm looking forward to busting some of those moves sometime in the future, Just one thing........everyone was sharply dressed, but who the devil was that odd bloke dancing in dry fit gym cloths and a black hat sweating his head off?

'You could make a blockbuster about Tea' a preposterous claim perhaps but this is what Richard is…read morepitching. Oolong's owner has produced a world where tea is medicine, tea is an aphrodisiac and tea is beyond delicious. This guy, and the rest of his staff know all there is to know about tea, cha, smoking cups of restoration, whatever you want to call it! Dublin as a tea destination is a concept just waiting for an upbeat discover Ireland video and I know Oolong is the cafe from where it shall spring. Their Teazza -tea infused pizza, for the uninitiated -was a definite highlight but there's also an unusual atmosphere in their shop that has a little to do with its elegance and a lot to do with blissed out clientele. Definitely going back to try some of their outrageous teacoctions!

Sure I enjoy the odd dunken'digestive in a milky brew of Barrys as much as the next patriot, but getting into the nittygritty of the world of exact temperatures, leaf strainers and health benefits? "Nah you're grand there, thanks very mooch" (said as I reach for another digestive to dunk) WELL HOLD THE PHONE AND CALL ME CHARMICHAEL: I AM A CONVERT!! Richard was so passionate about all things tea that it was hard not to get sucked in. During the evening we were treated to an extensive selection of teas, tea-infused pizza ("Teazza"), an authentic matcha latte aaaand some tea-infused chocolates. I was not expecting that the tea tasting would include so much, but I thoroughly enjoyed every last sip/morsel of it! Huge thanks to Richard and his lovely staff for treating us to such an enjoyable evening, and for their generosity in showing us everything that is wonderful about tea!
